Thai Noodle

Thai Restaurant · Wychwood

My go to place to order from when I'm feeling gross. Everything you eat here will make you feel better. Also the staff are super nice and sent free tea with my delivery order when I had covid. The tom kha is so light but flavourful, and the panaeng curry is perfect on a cold day. Also their fresh rolls are bomb

Albert's Real Jamaican Foods

Caribbean Restaurant · Wychwood

I'm angry at myself for not starting to go to Albert's sooner. Their patties are god tier and their jerk chicken made me cry tears of joy. It's so cheap and you get so much food and it makes your heart so happy. get a coco bread + beef patty. you won't regret it

Mapo Korean BBQ 마포상회

Korean barbecue restaurant · Annex

Our go to KBBQ place that isn't in ktown north. Good food, good staff, good good good. Gets bumpin after 7pm and is closed on Tuesdays. But is always worth the wait if there is one

Bakery On The Go

Bakery · Annex

I am loyal to these Jamaican patties and will be until the day I die

The Burger's Priest

Restaurant · Woodbine Corridor

ok burger's priest is kind of gimmicky but the burgers are legit so good holy moly. we are big fans of the Vatican and the Religious Hypocrite in this house

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka らーめん山頭火

Ramen Restaurant · Mount Pleasant West

Some more damn good ramen that is worth the wait if it's like, less than 45 mins. The broth is so good and the noodles are always perfect. Literally one of two reasons you will catch me near Dundas Square (reason #2 obviously being Canadian Tire)

Fudao Noodle House

Chinese restaurant · Kensington-Chinatown

You will feel these noodles deep within your soul. You will take the first sip of the broth and be unsure if you are crying because it is so ungodly hot, or because it's just that good. 10/10

Sea Witch Fish and Chips

Fish & chips restaurant · Wychwood

God Sea Witch is good. The fish and chips are insane and the chowder is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Allegedly the poutine is to die for but I have yet to try it because I stuff my face with chips and chowder every time. I cannot stress how delicious this place is

Dutch Dreams

Ice Cream Shop · Wychwood

One time we got a storm warning and me and my roommate's first thought was 'I bet there's no line at Dutch Dreams right now'. We could literally see the storm rolling in down St Clair but made a run for it anyway. I am always willing to risk it all for Dutch Dreams. This ice cream is so fucking good

Death in Venice Gelato

Gelato Shop · Beaconsfield

the gelato here is insane. they do a lot of really fun flavour combinations

The Merseyside

Cafe · High Park North

I will admit to having a bit of a bias because I managed this place for like 3 years, but it legit is very good. The scones are probably the best in the city and the breakfast sandwiches are so good when you're hungover (no dine in//no cash)

Roselle Desserts

Bakery · Old Toronto

absolutely gorgeous pastries and desserts, like holy shit

Soula’s

Greek Restaurant · Playter Estates-Danforth

another rec from the roommate who grew up on the Danforth. allegedly has a "bomb" lamb pie

Primrose Bagel Co

Bagel shop · Oakwood Vaughan

Some of the best bagels in the city. A bit of a trek but definitely worth it

Rustle & Still Café

Cafe · Palmerston–Little Italy

The banh mi here is insanely good and everyone that works here is super nice. I don't have a picture so you just have to trust me

Athen's Pastries

Greek Restaurant · Riverdale

my roommate grew up in greektown and says the pasties here are sick af "you wanna get the loukomades... and the spanakopita"

Baddies

Café · Dovercourt-Wallace Emerson-Junction

ok this is basically just some stuff on toast. but it's good stuff and it's good toast. it's also right around the corner from the bloor st location of Dead Dog Records, which is one of my fav record stores in the city

Ramen Isshin

Japanese restaurant · Kensington-Chinatown

Some of the best ramen in the city. V small space so there are sometimes lines, but worth it if the wait is less than half an hour

Sang-Ji Fried Bao

Dumpling Restaurant · Willowdale East

ok this is super out of the way but these dumplings are so good. sometimes my roommate's dad randomly brings us dumplings from here and whenever I get the 'my dad is bringing us dumplings' text I know that they're from here and I get so excited

Patrician Grill

Diner · Old Toronto

the restaurant equivalent of one of those second hand book shops where the owner clearly is annoyed that you are trying to buy books but you keep going anyway. the owner is kind of weird but when I was in college he always let us get the early bird special after it technically ended because we were tired, broke pastry students who clearly looked dead inside. the breakfast is so good. it is so greasy and bad for you but so good. cash only

Rudy

Fast food restaurant · Trinity Bellwoods

No picture b/c we always get takeout but Rudy will ruin you in a good way. Can't go wrong with a double cheeseburger + poutine, just make sure to get extra gravy bc their poutine never has enough

Approved by my Hungarian mother. Absolutely ridiculous portions; you will be full
