You will feel these noodles deep within your soul. You will take the first sip of the broth and be unsure if you are crying because it is so ungodly hot, or because it's just that good. 10/10

So nice especially for the cold weather! I pass by this place a LOT but never went in- I’m glad I did! The noodles are SO GOOD? They’re so soft and chewy. Unfortunately I wear glasses and i literally could not see because of the steam 😭 but that’s how good it was guys. I got the brisket and tomato soup! I think the total came to $16 something. The service is very nice and friendly. You get nuts to eat for free too, as well as tea. Interior is nice, and filled with students as you’d expect. I came in like 30 minutes too early for their lunch special (2-5pm)…you get a combo for $17, so imma try that next time! Will totally be back! Thank you for having me! :)

This is my fifth time or so coming to this restaurant and it is outstanding every time!!! We are always greeted almost immediately, orders are taken within 5 minutes, and the food is brought out in 10. The customer service is amazing and I will always come back here. Shout out to the male server/waiter who was so sweet and kind to all the tables, even making a few jokes here and there, and holding the door for my sister and I as we left. We even got a container of rice for our takeaway food. How sweet🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Party of 4, but only 3 of us had noodles. It came out piping hot and with extra noodles. I got the house special, the prawns were big, portions were generous, and packed with flavours! We got 2 lunch specials, noodles, with one snack and one drink for $16.99 . I felt like we robbed them The owner is kind (that's different from being nice) and very attentive to customers. We definitely found a gem in an area where noodle shops are a dime a dozen Thank you ❤️

Google
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Chinatown! I have visited several times the food always tastes so good, and the hot, boiling soup is heartwarming. All the staff are approachable, attentive, and friendly. My favorite dishes are sour cabbage fish soup noodles and tomato beef brisket soup with noodles. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Love the service and the serving is generous. We super love the noodles. Perfect for cold weather. Very affordable but only debit and cash are accepted.

Google
Super yummy for a cold day. Their three cup chicken combo is great value and is very delicious. The broth and noodle are also very rich. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

The owner of the restaurant is such a nice guy. He is very polite and perfect care about your food. Don’t forget they also have like a bento box set, it comes with a drink. The price is very reasonable in DT area, I have been here for over ten times.

I went here for dinner on a day where I felt weak as I was recovering from the flu. The noodles and soup were very rejuvenating and tasty. I had the pickled cabbage fish fillet soup with noodles. The owner was extremely kind, checking up on customers and offered to give me an extra helping of noodles. As I was finishing, he even offered to pack a bit of extra soup and noodles for me to take home. I appreciated it a lot, not to mention especially during a time where I was weak from the sickness and had low energy. I ate it the next day after heating the soup on the stovetop; it was still very delicious!

Yelp
Wow this place was great! Quite a few number of options, great prices (especially for a downtown location), very good food, friendly service, and free refills (on rice, noodles, and broth)! I got N10 - the FuDao rice noodle in curry soup ($10.99) and thought the broth was so , finished up all my broth and got a refill for my second bowl of noodles. It comes with the toppings pictured in the menu (pork, corn, mushrooms, etc) as well. The broth was super creamy and delicious and was like liquidized curry sauce made into soup! The prices were great for what you're getting (and I wouldn't even factor the refills into that!) and the food is overall just really good. Only tip is that it'd probably be helpful to have someone who speaks mandarin with you as the staff seemed much more familiar with that. but I really enjoyed my time and meal and would be happy to come back!

Yelp
2023 update: Still the place to go for affordable rice noodles! They have a deal where you can get an appetite, noodles, toppings, and a drink for around $20 after tax and tip. There are also choices for different dietary restrictions. Washrooms are downstairs. 2018: Good value: boiling broth, unlimited noodles, and 10 side dishes. From my experience, the broth is quite lean and the noodles are nothing special - it tastes healthy to me for some reason. Clean washrooms

Christopher L.

Yelp
Highly recommend for a quick and filling bite to eat. Each order of noodles comes with 10 complimentary toppings including egg, seaweed, mushrooms, corn, shrimp, etc). If you run out of noodles, no problem! Additional bowls of noodles are free of charge! Just ask a waiter to bring one and simply drop them into your hot soup to warm them up. I highly recommend the thai curry broth. Very aromatic and flavourful!

Yelp
Aside from the typical Chinese service attitude, it's a bit of a fun meal. The showy and not necessary massive tray of cold and raw accompaniments is a little too space consuming (table for 2 is too small for two people). I'm not sure if there's unlimited free noodles, as the waiter asked a few times if I wanted more. If the portion wasn't as big, I would have definitely accepted the offer for more noodles. The broth is amazingly good, and would have downed the whole thing if my stomach was capable of such volume. A little note about my Chinese service experience. It's not a bad thing, assuming you're fine with being told aggressively how to order (as if she's in a rush with only 2 other tables who already have they meals), and then aggressively but in a humorous way to just dump everything in the boiling pot of soup - as if she knows I like everything . May be I elicit such attitude because I come across as hopeless?

Tristan W.

Yelp
The food here is great and is usually fairly busy. Also, there's unlimited free rice noodle refills.

Yelp
Arriving from a long train trip, a bowl of noodles is very appealing, and this hit the spot. While it's not mindblowing (and I admit to not being the biggest fan of hot pot style food preparation), the noodles were fresh and chewy, all of the meats and stuff were tasty, and the broth had a pleasant subtle flavor. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but it certainly lived up to its promise.

Yelp
I simply can not rave enough about this place!! Very good price for the amount and quality of food! This is another place that serves crossing the bridge noodles (a boiling hot broth with toppings on the side that you add into the soup to cook/warm up) with unlimited noodle refills. They have a wide variety of soup bases ranging from original to pickled cabbage to tomato to spicy ones. My personal favourites are the thai curry (not too spicy) and tomato. They are always adding new flavours such as the recent tom yum. Each soup comes with a bowl of rice noodles and 10 toppings with meat. Sometimes the toppings are on rotation but you usually get: a quail egg, corn, black fungas, fish tofu, shrimp, squid/ham/sausage slices, corn, and tofu skin. It is recommended to put in the meat first into the soup to cook it. Most of the toppings are cooked already so it is just reheated in the soup. NOTE: When you receive your plate of toppings, you can ask to switch out a few for other ones instead! TIP: If you go before 5pm, they have a 'lunch' special where you get a soup combo with an appetizer and a pop for $10.99!! Previously their combo was a cold appetizer instead of their hot ones. Side Dishes: For their hot ones, the deep fried cuttlefish balls are my absolute favourite. They come in an amazing sauce as well. The takoyaki is not bad but a little bit too doughy for my taste. I tried the fried tofu but its a bit soggy and too saucy. For their cold ones, I like the garlic cucumber or the duck tongue with seaweed salad. Service: Fast and attentive. They would usually remind you to order quickly as well especially if you are borderline near the cut off time for the lunch special. Overall, YES. Come here and get your noodle fix!

Yelp
Place: This place is so my favorite! I cannot stress how this is probably a top thing to do in Toronto. Service: The service is pretty good. They are good at providing the necessary things needed for your entrees or what you ordered. Food/price: The food is known for their hotpot and "DIY broths". It is worth your buck because it is really fun making your own soup. There are some dishes where the noodles are all you can eat. SO WORTH Audience: A lot of my friends said that they really love going here when they travel to Toronto. Good for friends or dates! Recommend/tips? I highly recommend this place and the tip would be come when it is not that busy! So not the typical lunch/dinner times.

Yelp
Came in around 8 PM and it was still quite busy, though the restaurant isn't that big maybe 30-40 seats. Service is pretty good you can see a waitress going around from time to time checking up on water refills. This restaurant specializes in crossing bridge rice noodle soup, which you might have seen with the platter of a ingredients beside a stone bowl of hot broth and a bowl of rice noodles on the side. They have a dozen different soup bases for you to choose from whether you like it spicy, sour, or something light. I ordered the new kimchi soup. It arrived in about 10 minutes, but it was hot and visibly boiling in the bowl. Had a nice flavor; not too salty not too spicy. The soup was quite light in texture, not too much grease, and easy to go down. There's enough soup for two or three refills of noodles if you have a larger appetite. The ingredients provided include a piece of shrimp, mushrooms, chinese sausage, ground meat, sliced meat, and tofu, which is a pretty nice mix. According to the menu they have a daily afternoon special between 2 and 5 where you can get any noodle, a cold dish, and a soft drink for only $10.99 which is pretty nice if you're having a late lunch, or an early dinner.

Yelp
It was one of those evenings when I wasn't up for anything heavy for dinner. My friend suggested ginseng chicken rice noodle soup, and I thought, why not. Something herbal will do me good. And it proved to be the right choice. If you haven't tried chicken ginseng soup, give it a go. Ginseng is supposed to help with your immune system and boost your energy, which is perfect for this chilly autumn evening. My order came within 10 mins. The soup was lightly fragrant with a myriad of flavours that tantalized the tastebud. The soup was light and non greasy, with a touch of bitter sweetness. It was excellent for my sensitive stomach. There were lots of ingredients in the bubbling boiling hot bowl such as vegetables, eggs, chicken, tofu skin etc. I also tried the fried chicken appertizer and tofu, albeit reluctantly at first because I didn't want anything heavy. To my surprise, it wasn't oily and was tasty. I also drank a can of cooling herbal tea that was refreshing... a nice balance to the ginseng soup. Last but not least, the service was exceptional. I like how the server came back with a second bowl of soup to refill. He was very thoughtful. Thank you Fudao for your amazing hospitality. I love how you welcome us and made us feel at home.

Yelp
First time hearing about and dining in at this restaurant and to my surprise it was pretty good. It is a small space and not much too it for the decor. Ordered the house special noodles that was served with the broth and noodles separately. Not sure why it was served separated but I didn't mind it. The broth was tasty and the whole meal was pretty filling.

Amy L.

Yelp
Went to Fudao a couple more times since my first review and also ordered takeout during covid. Props to them for really packing as much soup and noodles as they could for their takeout orders (unlike Dagu). I had to split up the order for two meals because there was so much food!

Kaori T.

Yelp
I think I ordered the wrong broth here. I probably would have enjoyed my meal much more but the broth was overpowering, a lot more pungent than I'm used to. But I powered through it and it ended up being good. So point is, don't get the pickled vegetable with pork broth unless you know what you're getting into! I wish I could come here to try more soups. I love the concept: Piping hot soup still boiling as you dip the veggie and other condiments in. Add a few slices of pork and then the noodles as your last bet. Very presentable and affordable!

Jack O.

Yelp
The food was wonderful. Noodle dish great. Noodles not overdone, perfect texture Fried tofu perfect texture, crunch. Popcorn chicken not oilly, ver flavorful. Best of all was the amazing service. Visiting from LA, found by chance.

Yelp
Totally in love with this place. I always come and order hot pot for my meal and feel really full whenever I finish. I would recommend try hot pot with noodles. When you become a regularly customers, the manager will give u the soy milk for freee. Lol that's what I love from this store. I love the way the manager treat his customers. They're so nice

Carmel P.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a weekday and quite enjoyed this place. I ordered the original broth with the regular set of 10 ingredients and it was really tasty. It was fun putting in the ingredients one by one and preparing my own meal. And then equally fun to taste each ingredient directly from the soup when it came time to eat it. Though the idea of making your own soup with "10 ingredients" sounds like a fad, I would totally come back as the broth was very flavourful and well worth the price. Definitely recommend !

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Really wonderful food! The taste of the food was so delicious. Also the consistency of the noodle was very nice. Wonderful service as well. Be prepared this place only takes cash.

Yelp
Excellent find on our 1st day arrival of Toronto. We walked through China town and found this one, lots of people in there, must be popular. Ordered noodle soup for myself and husband ordered rice dish. We also ordered some side dish, like squid, spicy glass noodle and duck tongue. Soup is delicious! And authentic! Just like i remembered in Yun Nan of China! When we check out, they don't accept US credit card, US debit card, only cash in Canadian dollar which we don't have! But they accept weechat pay from China! Unbelievable! Guess it's China town.. the service is great!

Le H.

Yelp
We love this place for noodle soups and its appetizers. The noodle portions are big and most important it tastes delicious. We love the pickled cabbage with pork, thai curry and spicy and sour noodles. Makes me drool thinking about them. We have had every snack item on the list and they are all done very well. Especially love the tofu, octopus and popcorn chicken. So light and not heavily battered and there is actually meat pieces. Juicy, tasty and so easy to eat. Puts KFC popcorn chicken to shame, not that KFC is good (always dry and heavily battered) but the only other I could think of off hand. The owner is super kind, greets everyone at the door, is attentive with children and just so proud of the dishes he is serving to his customers. As he should because its fantastic! If I lived closer I would be at this place weekly. Its our go to spot when we are in the area.

Andy V.

Yelp
If you dine at Fudao, you should expect a very generous portion of food (due to their unlimited noodle refill) for an extremely reasonable price. However, what stops me from giving this place a higher rating is that I didn't find myself wanting more throughout the meal. I tried the Fudao rice noodle and thai curry and Teppan grill squid skewer. I expected the squid to have a nice grilled/smoky taste but when it came to the table, it appeared to have just been boiled(?) and dipped in sauce. The rice noodle dish presentation is pleasant at first, but then you have to dump all the sides immediately into the boiling pot in order to have everything cooked properly. Once this is done, it becomes just like any other noodle dish. The meat was actually surprisingly soft/tender but only 3 pieces will come with the meal. Regardless, Fudao does seem to be a popular restaurant in Toronto and was packed when I came, so perhaps it's worth a visit. Personally though, if I was back in town, I wouldn't go out of my way for it unless I just wanted to get full for a cheap price.

Jesse T.

Yelp
Huge portion soup with free refills! I did not expect so much food for $10. The thai curry flavour soup was very good. I threw in all the toppings without thinking and it turned out great, nothing went overboard. Will definitely come back to try the other soups.

Yelp
One day when you're in the heart of Downtown Toronto's Chinatown and you wonder to yourself "Where can I get a bowl of authentic Chinese noodles with flavourful soup?" - I hope you keep in mind Fudao Noodle House. Situated right on Spadina Road in the heart of Chinatown, Fudao cannot be beat with its excellent service, atmosphere and authentic touches. I made a visit there during Valentines' day - the perfect love for a foodie has to be trying out some new food, and I'm flattered that I was cordially invited to try the selection at Fudao Noodle House! We had arrived fairly early, so we were lucky to grab some clean shots of the restaurant itself - shortly after we settled in for our lunch, immediately a lot of customers shuffled in. We were also greeted personally by the manager and he led us to our table so we could start our order. On the tables were the menus, where you were given a marker and you literally mark down what items that you wanted. I thought this was a very effective way of taking orders from customers - it was a similar concept to ordering dim sum in the restaurants. The menus were made spectacularly and made me want to order all their food! Of course though, we had to be mindful of finishing what we could! My partner and I started off with some sides - we were served Pork Ribs seasoned with sesame seeds alongside Grilled Squid Tentacles. The pork ribs to my partner tasted delicious, and really packed flavour for him. I believe that it was tasty too, however I hope next time that the pork ribs would be less sweet and more salty. The grilled squid tentacles were very nice however, it was seasoned with sesame seeds as well and held a nice, smoky flavour from the grill. Prior to receiving the main course (which my partner and I ordered the Fudao Rice Noodle in Spicy Soup and the Fudao Original Soup in Mini Hotpot) we got a variety of sides that would be incorporated into our hotpot or soup bowls. This included a beautiful display of beef brisket, shrimp, corn, sliced meats, quail egg, and other vegetables that would be added into the soup to add taste and flavour. Shortly after, we were greeted with exquisite china filled with delicious broths. My partner's Spicy Soup came bubbling to our table, ready to be mixed with all the sides that were given to us. In addition, my Original Fudao Soup got a chance to be prepared in a hot-pot style on a mini burner, which I thought added a nice touch to the experience. Usually, hotpot is served in group styles, but this particular menu choice allows the customer to enjoy a little hotpot all to themselves! It was certainly a great experience to have. Each of the soups came with a special sauce, which consisted of same kind of blend of oil and a peanut blended sauce, which was splendid for me because it reminded me of the sauce that I would eat with the traditional "Goi Cuon" in a Vietnamese dining experience. My partner had a differing opinion about the sauce, he wasn't too much of a fan. However, this is solely due to preference as oppose to the actual taste of the sauce. On an objective note, it was definitely a nice touch to have for the flavours being incorporated into the dish. The drinks that were served to us also added to the authenticity of Fudao - this is basically the "Fanta" of Beijing! They had imported this special drink right to their restaurant and I believe it was extremely tasty - especially due to its bottling. This pop is called "Arctic Ocean" and comes in many flavours such as Lemon (as shown), Orange, Tangerine, and many more! Yelp
This is probably one of my favourite noodle houses in Toronto. You're not too spoilt for choice, so the decision of what to order is easy to make. I almost end up ordering more than I can eat because everything on their menu is Delicious. Soup: Spicy Pepper Soup This base is my favourite & probably the most spiciest of the lot. It's got just theright amount of pepper, touch of sourness & a bowl full of flavour. This base in no way compromises on its flavour due to the spices. If you enjoy spicy food like me, I recommend you to try this base. Adding all the amazing meats, mushrooms & noodles to it makes it even more delectable. Rating : 5/5 Cold dish: Spicy Duck Tongue I tried this delicacy for the first time & I did not like it a lot. There was not a lot of meat to eat, it had soft bones which I wasn't too sure if I had to eat or throw away. The sauce was not all that bad but the tongue is not my thing. Rating : 2.5/5 Chicken in Chilli Oil I enjoyed this dish, the chilli oil was palatable & had a nice flavour. However, the chicken had bones attached to it so you might have to be careful while eating it. All in all a good dish but not a must have. Rating: 3.5/5 Summary: This place serves amazing Noodles soup whilst not burning a hole in your pocket. If you're looking for comfort food with a lot of flavour, then you must try this place.

Chmyst Z.

Yelp
So good and perfect for our last meal in TO! 2 pickled cabbage, 2 original and one chicken ginger with a side of lobster balls. Each soup came with 10 add-ins except chicken ginger which had its own chicken pieces and goodies. Very reasonable for so much food - free rice noodle refill ! Service was fast and friendly and filled up quickly. We will be back

Tina Y.

Yelp
I am a soup fanatic. I have soup summer winter fall, no matter the season. This noodle place fulfills all my criteria: clean, CHEAP, beautiful gorgeous food (I love it when they set down the huge stone pot of soup in front of you), wonderful selection of soup base (I go for the original in the summer, and spicy during winter), they even give you SHRIMP as one of the side dishes, PHEW! LUX! Free noodle refill Awesome service Discount when you pay with cash Close to campus (Almost) no wait time. I'm just waiting for them to get $$$ so they can expand to a bigger venue (and possibly franchise it so I can have my soup closer to home..)

Bethany L.

Yelp
Fudao noodle house is my go-to place for a piping hot bowl of noodles with an abundance of toppings and flavourful broth. My favourite is the spicy pickled pepper soup, which they list as spiciest broth they have. It's the type of spice that builds up as you eat it, but can't stop because it's so delicious. They offer unlimited noodle refills, though just one serving is usually enough for me. The toppings include pork, spinach, quail's egg, ox tongue, corn, shrimp, fish tofu, squid, seaweed, and more. It's a great value for just $9.99. I also got the squid skewer, which was absolutely delicious. The seasoning was a little spicy, a little sweet, and only cost $2.99 too! They give a complimentary bowl of salted peanuts when you arrive. There was also a promotion when I was there where we got a free drink for our order over $25. The service is pretty quick and there's rarely a wait for tables. I definitely recommend this as an alternative for other popular noodle houses like Dagu, which often has a long line. This place has better food, a cleaner environment, better service, and less of a wait.

Heng-Ling W.

Yelp
This place is now open for dine-in. The price is really affordable, around $10. And the noodles and soup are refillable. The owner is very humble and nice. He treated my friend and I free pop drinks and kept giving a us free ones after we finished the drinks. Very nice service attitude too. After chatting, he told me they were closed for 3 months and now is just trying to hang on and hopefully will get through this Covid thing and run normal again. Please go support the place. Very nice owner! If you pay cash is 10% off.

Michael W.

Yelp
Ate here with family and was pleasantly surprised. Food was very good. Kids had spicy chicken and my wife and I had ribs and rice. Would be nice if washrooms smelled better but standard for this area of town.

Stephanie Z.

Yelp
What I got: Original Rice Noodle ($8.49) and Pickled Cabbage Soup ($9.99) Pros: - Came here on a very rainy day and was able to get seats despite this place being pretty busy on a weeknight. - The soups here are supposedly made with no MSG, so you won't have to feel guilty about drinking it. - Lunch menu is quite worth it, for ~$10 you can get soup noodles, with appetizer and drink. - Free refills on the noodles but not on the seafood/meat/veg you put in the soup. - Overall a great place for cheap eats with a nice selection of little items you can put into the soup. - I'd recommend you to put everything in while the soup was still boiling to avoid eating raw seafood. Cons: - Take debit and cash only - The seating arrangement can be a bit tight so you can hear the conversation of the people next to you. - The Pickled Cabbage soup was on the saltier side, so I would recommend the thai or original one more.

Yelp
I love going to Fudao Noodle House to get my fix for Crossing the Bridge noodles. They have a good variety of broths that you can choose from and they range in spice level. My favourite broths are the Thai Curry and the Spicy and Sour. For those of you who aren't familiar with Crossing the Bridge noodles, you get the broth in this burning hot stone pot separate from 10 different toppings and the noodles which are unlimited refills, and c'mon, who can say no to that? You put the rolls of meat they give you or you can order extra toppings into your broth like slices of pork, lamb or beef, or even beef/fish balls. Then you put the rest of the toppings in there, the noodles and voila! I haven't come by in a while and I came when it was relatively steady but the service was still on point. They've refilled my water and asked if everything was okay ever so often. I also have a shellfish sensitivity so I don't add the shrimp they provide as an extra topping, but when I went on my last visit, they offered to swap it for another ingredient I could eat. It was great customer service and something I don't really see other places that offer Crossing the Bridge noodles doing. Overall, really great service and yummy food that is decently priced!

Alvin L.

Yelp
Amazing food, service and ambiance! I ordered the tomato beef brisket and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Fudao is my new favourite noodles place downtown! It's conveniently located in the central parts of Chinatown. And based on my experience, it's best to visit during a weekday for dinner than between Friday to Sunday, or else you will definitely need to wait in line. There was a Friday that I went at 9PM, it was packed even after we finished eating. ITS THAT CRAZY, for noodles. Eating at Fudao is super simple. On the sheet of menu/paper they provide, just follow their instructions. Step 1: Pick your soup base that ranges from mild to spicy. Step 2: If you don't want their signature noodle, pick whatever else you like. Most people order their rice noodles that come in a stone bowl with the noodles and 10 toppings served on the side. The best part about this restaurant is you get free noodle refills if the first bowl doesn't fill you. And secondly, if there are toppings within the 10 you don't like, you can exchange for something else more suitable to your tastes. But to be honest (after eating at Fudao twice so far), some of those toppings I still have no clue exactly what they are. My most recommended soup base is the Fudao Rice Noodle in Thai Curry Soup. For someone who doesn't eat that much spice, this base is perfect. Although it has one chili sign next to it, it's not too bad at all. While you dump in all the toppings and noodles to fill the bowl, the curry soup simmers and mix together everything deliciously. The curry soup gives a kick to your meal yet it blends in well. Fudao is best eaten when the weather is cold too. I also have to give credit to their noodles as its really well done in terms of texture and chewy-ness. Two interesting things I would say is that sometimes it's quite difficult to find back all the toppings I've dumped into the soup since they are so small. But it's also fun to dig around for them, it's like exploring for treasure in an ocean. And secondly, the background YouTube music videos and songs they always play is super hipster! First time there it was all rap, and second time it was top billard R&B and Hip Hop.

Justin W.

Yelp
Had a great time at Fudao! Delicious and flavorful soup complimented with a caring staff! See you soon.

Yelp
Toronto is getting a craze of noodle houses! Came in on a weeknight on a warm spring day and we were very lucky that there was no line. Seated immediately and was prompted with some salty peanuts as a snack. Menu is not extensive which is good for indecisive people. There was maybe 8 soup bases to choose from, and many add ons/ small appetizers to share. I choose the regular soup base which was very flavourful and not milky in texture (unlike dagu's soup base which i find a bit more rich and milky). Each noodle soup comes with 10 ingredients ranging from fish tofu, shrimp, tripe, veggies, 3 pieces of meat (i think it was lamb), quail egg, bamboo shoots and a couple of other ingredients. Once you recieve the bubbling soup, you immediately dump your ingredients in so it can cook for a longer period of time. very similar concept to hot pot but just not all you can eat! haha Once you get your soup you are also provided with a bowl of rice noodles. I find the noodles here super chewy and tasty. It is already somewhat seasoned even before putting it in the soup! Noodles are also unlimited so if you're not full with one bowl you can keep ordering more and more noodles! As side dishes, we ordered the seaweed salad. Not the typical sushi seaweed salad, a thicker and more real tasting seaweed seasoned with some seasame oil and green onions. Very tasty and fair for the price (4.99 for a good size dish), and also the popcorn chicken. Nothing too much to rave about the popcorn chicken but it was a nice added touch to eat while waiting for the noodles to come. Service was fast and super friendly. All servers could speak english and would great in recommending what to order. They also have a promo right now that if you spend 25$ or more you get a free chinese pop (taste like c plus) haha. Cash and debit only though so be mindful of this. Will definitely be returning when craving a hot bowl of noodle soup!

Yelp
This is a great place to get cross bridge noodles in Chinatown. The price is very reasonable for a very filling meal. The soup bases are all very flavorful, and the noodles have great texture, not to mention the unlimited noodle refill. Great for a student budget. I usually get the shredded pork and pickled cabbage soup. Usually, the meatiness of the soup would be covered by the pickled cabbage taste, but here, you can distinctively taste the pork, and it's delicious. I've also tried the spicy and sour soup, but that one tasted a bit more artificial. You get a standard set of toppings in little dishes that you mix into the boiling cauldron of soup first, followed by the bowl of noodles. The noodles gradually soak up the flavors from the soup. One order of noodles is more than enough to satisfy most people. The popcorn chicken and smashed cucumber in garlic sauce are good choices for sides. This place gets quite busy with students, but there's ample seating so the wait time doesn't get too bad. The tables are quite close to each other, so getting in and out can be a bit uncomfortable for those with the inside seat. Other than that, not too much complaints. It's by no means fine dining, but it's hearty meal for a good price.

Yelp
Great and affordable Chinese noodle place! Usually these noodle houses have bland basic soup bases, but I absolutely love Fudao's! It's very flavourful and reminiscent of pork or beef bone soup. Best part is the unlimited noodle refills! The noodles are a very nice rice noodle with a bouncy texture. Would definitely recommend coming here!

Yelp
One of my favorite places for noodle soup. If you like thai curry then I would recommend getting their thai curry soup. All soups come with various meats and vegetables which can be substituted if you ask the staff. If you run out of noodles you can ask for more with no extra charge. After my first visit to the place I have added it to my must visit regularly list.

Yelp
Nothing bad to say about this place! The price was amazing for the amount of food you get. We got the larger portioned meals that come on a burner with extra sides and dipping sauce for $12-13 which was only $1-2 more than the reg portion (price difference for different broths). My boyfriend got the original and I had the tomato broth. Both were delicious! The service was great as well. They offered to refill our broths half way through our meal and always refilled our water without being asked. Definitely coming back! We also received 10% off our bill for checking in on yelp.

Yelp
This noodle place offers "crossing the bridge noodles". This dish (noodle itself is just rice noodle) is from Yun Nan Province in southern China. The dish has 3 components. First, a large bowl of BOILING soup (you have 7 choices of soup). Second, a bowl of cooked rice noodle (no flavour). Third, a tray of small plates of ingredients (raw vegetables, raw pork slice, mushroom, seaweed) that are ready to be added into the boiling soup. How to eat this? Put small plate of ingredients into boiling soup. Raw meat and mushroom go first. And then raw vegetables, fish cake, corn, etc. At last, add the rice noodle. Wait about 30 seconds, once raw meat is fully cooked, you can indulge the dish! This dish is very simple. What makes one stands out is the SOUP! And I have to say this place has the best soup/broth! There are another two similar noodle places in Chinatown that also specialize in crossing-the-bridge-noodle, and a number of them in uptown, this is one of the best I have had among all. Tips: don't expect to finish the dish in 10 mins, because the soup is sooo hot. Also did I mention they offer unlimited noodle and soup refill?

Yelp
To combat the cold weather, a hot steaming bowl of rice noodle soup would do the job beautifully. Honestly the original soup base was a little too salty and the tomato soup tasted a tad artificial in the flavor, BUT it was no biggie since the belly and soul were completely satisfied! Also, it was fun to choose from the 10+ different toppings/ ingredients provided. I just dumped everything into the soup to make it more hearty. For $10-ish, it was good value for what I was getting.

Yelp
I visited the venue for my 1st time last Thurs. with a dining out social Group. There were 6 of us and the venue wasn't completely packed when we went in so we obtained a table pretty easily. I ordered soup base no. 3: shredded pork and pickled cabbage which with the standard added items and noodles for all of the soup choices was a quite flavourful meal with the broth possibly providing the greatest flavour of all. I think I likely picked the best soup base choice for myself, so much so that if/when I go back (which I definitely want to) it will be hard for me to pick a different base. Our meals didn't take long to prepare so it was a relatively quick dinner. Overall the décor was somewhat upscale considering the venue is in Chinatown and the meals are a pretty great value for the price. Definitely worth a visit or 2 or more.

Yelp
If you're looking for a bang for your buck, and you're also into noodles, Fudao would be a perfect place to go. This restaurant specializes in Chinese noodle soups, but also has some snacks and appetizers on the menu. You start off by choosing a soup base which comes with several different toppings along with plain noodles to add into your sizzlin' soup. You can order additional toppings as well if you're willing to pay extra, as the restaurant has a lot to choose from! I went with the Thai Curry soup, the regular default toppings, and noodles, which was was really good. The soup was flavorful and had the toppings (including corn, meat, vegetables, bean curd, etc.) gave the dish a lot of variety - you can view my picture below to get a sense of all of the toppings since I don't know what they're all called. The prices are very reasonable for the large portions you get in each bowl. If you're still feeling hungry with soup left over, you can actually get unlimited refills of noodles for free! How amazing is that?! I couldn't finish my first bowl, so I didn't have a need to order a second, but I can see how this would definitely come in handy for someone who is able to handle a large amount. Overall, Fudao Noodle House was an excellent choice for noodles around Chinatown in Toronto. The interior design is cute, the restaurant is spacious and casual, and the service is pretty good for a Chinese restaurant. I'd recommend it!

Yelp
Yunnan style noodles or Crossing Bridge noodles are the new ''it'' thing for me now. This restaurant in particular was at the top of my radar because of all the five star ratings. Located in Chinatown, where quality and sanitation can be - you know - ''sketch'', I was even more excited to find a diamond in the rough. The restaurant is very clean. This is true even when they are busy with hoards of diners, many of whom have to line up outside for at least 10 minutes. This resonated well with my germaphobic soul. My bf got the original broth and I got the spicy-sour peppered broth. Both were very flavourful, though I preferred the original, which felt lighter to boot. You can up the ante in flavour with some additional sauces on the side, though the broths are completely fine without them. Also, I wouldn't say the 11 free ingredients were exciting additions and I honestly wished it was possible to get free refills of meat. However, the free refills of noodles was differently the gimmick for me. They only have medium-thick round rice noodles, which are not my preference and they softened too quickly for my liking, but if you're a hungry hippo, you're just damn happy to get more noodles for zero cost! Overall, we like the free noodle refills, affordable pricing, and level of sanitation. That's saying a lot because my bf usually reels at Chinese noodle soups. Will we be coming back? Yes. Hopefully they introduce different types of noodles in the near future for flat noodle lovers like me!

Yelp
First of all -- the WIFI password is fudao888 -- now the review.. Very clean inside, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Seems really popular when I went -- it might be because it's relatively new. The decor is alright. The dishes are neat. Washroom could be cleaner, but above average for the neighbourhood. The menu is simple and straightforward. Expect noodles, get noodles. Pick your noodle base and it comes with ten toppings. The ten toppings come separately from the soup and you put it in yourself. They advise to put the meat and mushrooms in first as it takes a bit longer to cook those through. Hold off on putting in the noodles last! It really fills up the bowl and absorbs the heat. Keep in mind, soup and rice noodles are free refills! So ask for extra when you're done if you're feeling extra hungry. You can also swap any of the toppings (or even get ten of the same topping!). Don't forget about the appetizers. I think they're well-priced with respect to the noodles. Noodles + multiple appetizers for under twenty dollars? Great! I got a popcorn chicken which was pretty good; woulda personally liked it a bit saltier.

Yelp
MUST TRY: Original noodle soup Spicy noodle soup Chicken in chili sauce (side dish) Recommended: Takoyaki Cuttlefish balls Crispy tofu Too spicy for me: Spicy Pickled Pepper Soup It's a terrific price point. Excellent cheap eats Obviously, winter is the best time to eat here. STORY TIME: [A little boy sucking on a post-dinner restaurant lollipop walked in front of our table. He stared at us. My dinner companion engages...] DC: Hi, can I help you? Boy: Can you speak chinese? DC: No. Boy: I can speak Chinese. DC: Ok.. Boy: I was born in China. DC: Oh...how old are you? Boy: 8. DC: What are you carrying? Boy: I'll show you.... [Boy spends 2 full minutes trying to unzip his bag. Then, he pops out a full tuxedo with a little bowtie.] Boy: I have a performance tomorrow Me: Do you play the piano? Boy: HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT??!!!!!!!! [His sister walks up. Doublefisting lollipops.] Sister: hELLOOOOO!! [Mother grabs the girls hand, gives the boy the death stare, and they leave.] This did not seem out of place with the casual nature of the restaurant. Based on a sample of ~5 meals

Yelp
I love noodles. Fudao is taking a simple concept and stamping out meals with precision. It was great to see everyone at Fudao slurping the noodles all at the same time, and enjoying it to the fullest. We went for the standard broth, with one person asking for a vegetarian version. The server asked the chef and a custom Thai curry broth was served. Bonus point for that! We ended up swapping and exchanging toppings from the cute box, and I ended up with most of the meat which was delicious! If you are eating one order, it may not satisfy you. Consider getting the popcorn chicken as well. It was a combo of white and dark meat and was a nice crunchy item to slather with the house made chilli oil. Service was prompt and courteous. We remarked about the less boisterous atmosphere compared to the Japanese and Korean noodle places we've been. Also I noticed that there was no liquor license, and no one that I could see even ordered any kind of drink. Water is provided and Chinese herbal tea is available as well as soft drinks. That was a pleasant change.

Yelp
Decent priced, tasty noodles Was a little confused on how to order. So we ordered extra meat, which was not necessary because the noodle combos already came with meat.
