The team was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. I strolled in 10 minutes before they closed and they were able to replace my watch battery, order a replacement watch strap and monogram two journals for me. Really top tier, thank you.

Google
Friendly staff, great vibe, premium quality watches and bags. I love a leather bag I got from them last year and it only looks better over time. The store manager, Spencer, is warm and has a good sense of humor.

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Shinola, and I have to say, my experience was outstanding, thanks largely to Matt. As someone who isn’t well-versed in watches, I appreciated his patience and expertise. Matt took the time to explain everything clearly, never rushing us, and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable with our choices. His exceptional customer service made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. I would definitely return to Shinola for another purchase. Highly recommended!

Google
Had a great experience in the Tribeca store , I had seen these watches online and glad I stopped in the store to see them in person. Staff was very friendly really gave me a lot of useful info. I think his name was Spencer. I will be back soon for a purchase. Thanks

Google
Great little store. Everything is neatly presented. You can be hands-on to check out the merchandise and the staff doesn't hover or hound you. Everyone there is friendly and accommodating. Awesome watches made in Detroit (with some high-quality imported Swiss parts.)

Google
Excellent service. They really stand buy their watches.

Google
I love Shinola products and the staff are always great! I was just in to get my batteries replaced and buy a belt, but they let me look at all the expensive watches even knowing I wasn't going to buy one that day

I've never been to this store, but worked with Claudia, a sales associate there, on an order over the last few weeks. She (and the entire experience) was flawless. I described the complex order over the phone, she made great recommendations, helped me solve a couple of challenges, then had the order couriered to me the next week. It was what every retail customer service interaction should aspire to be. I hope they give this woman a raise and/or a promotion.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about the service provided here. I needed a new battery and new strap. Alan the repair technician, not only easily replaced my battery; he ordered the strap I wanted, which wasn't in the store; had the strap sent to him so he could do the replacement. Additionally, he reused the clasp from my original strap (which is nicer than the standard one provided with the new band) and had the completely refurbished watch sent back to me - in less than a week! He was unfailingly kind and I received what seems like a brand new Shinola watch. Thanks, Alan and Shinola for having such a lovely store and staff! Everyone there was helpful, informative and kind.

Yelp
This was one of the coolest experiences we have had as a couple. Our anniversary is this month and I wanted to do something a Special for my husband. I'm so glad I choose Shinola in TriBeCa. I booked a private shopping experience on their website that stumbled upon back in March. There was a booking conflict and Arturo called and emailed me as soon as he saw the mix up. I happily agreed to come an hour earlier so we could still surprise my husband. Arturo and the entire staff went above and beyond for us. I was so blown away by everyone and honestly I can't wait to go back. They made sure they had my husbands favorite drink and a gift and personalized card signed by everyone. We appreciated them so much we didn't want to leave. We never felt rushed or pushed to buy something. We just had fun and shopped. It was the best shopping experience and gift I could give my man. Thank you to everyone at Shinola!

Yelp
Excellent service. I've been stalking the brand for years and finally made it to their store in tribeca. I walked over from soho a quick 9 minutes, and they were extremely helpful and super nice. I didn't find a watch for the day, but the experience will absolutely make me a customer real soon. Their leather bags are exquisitely crafted and I'm sure they'll soon release a watch in my size and style. Great experience. Awesome brand.

Yelp
Great Service, perfect location and well done display for all products and gadgets.

Yelp
This is a phenomenal watch store, with an amazing staff and a gorgeous selection. I cannot recommend this store enough.

Persia T.

Yelp
Detroit is the new Brooklyn. Great store with high-quality leather products, watches and bicycles. Great value for how well things are made. Good store for gifts! #supportamerica

Susan R.

Yelp
Absolute best watches out there in the price range. They look like watches that are thousands of dollars more. Their customer service is incredible. Who wouldn't want to buy a watch made in America and support the incredible people of Detroit. Their gift selections are also amazing. When I need to get someone something special I immediately look to Shinola.

Grant C.

Yelp
If you keep up with such things, you may have heard that the shoe polish people of "shit from Shinola" fame have repurposed themselves as a manufacturer of luxury consumer goods; specifically bicycles, leather goods, and big-ass watches. Actually, someone just bought the rights to the Shinola name so they could manufacture and market these things. The new Shinola has a flagship store right here in Tribeca where you can order an espresso and buy an iPhone cover or a leather notebook or even some shoe polish. You can't buy a big-ass watch because they don't have any for sale. They have some on display and a few old display models lying around they could sell, but they didn't actually make enough big-ass watches to open a flagship store. I'm pretty sure you can't buy a bicycle, either, because the bicycles they had were mostly hanging on the walls and there didn't seem to be one you could test ride. You can order some of these things (kind of like on the Internet) and someday they will make them. I don't think the shoe polish people ever had a flagship store, but they probably wouldn't have opened one without some shoe polish to sell.

Jen C.

Yelp
The store is gorgeous plus they have this espresso bar and you can smell a good coffee aroma that you can't just walk out without a cup of coffee. Nice bags and many cool leathers and watches. They were very friendly too.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I came across this store as I'm in this neighborhood everyday. I feel like the location is a bit obscure for most people to take notice and take a hike here. But if you do venture in, the store is very aesthetically pleasing. They have a variety of leather goods, watches, notebooks, and even bikes. I bought a couple of notebooks which I had custom engraved at no charge. The lady who help me do the engraving was super friendly, and the staff are really nice. Although the engraving was free, the notebooks and other products are a bit pricey. They deserve 3 stars because the handful of staff putting up the installation in the front of their store were a bunch of snobs. They were so unfriendly when a customer asked what they were doing, and they sprawled all over the seats so no customers could be seated. This staff has not been definitive of my experience here, but it has certainly left me quite turned off.

Blake L.

Yelp
Awesome store! Very expensive but unique American made items that leave you wishing you had more $$ in your wallet. Props to the store designer for giving this store some real style and flavor

Tim Z.

Yelp
As an owner of multiple Shinola Men's/Women's watches, I was shocked to learn they do not replace batteries at the store level! They wanted to send the watch "back to the factory for two weeks..." for a battery. Heck, even Target does a Timex battery replacement. Although the shop products are full of sizzle, it is had not to be disappointed in the after the sale service

Jamie L.

Yelp
I was disappointed that I was able to place an online order for 20 monogrammed notebooks to be picked up in-store. I was traveling from LA to NYC for a work event and wanted to give the notebooks as a thank-you to clients who came to the event. I called the store and Claudia made the transaction as seamless as possible, communicating with me every step of the way. Short of being able to place the order online, this is as good as it gets - maybe even better since she went the extra mile to put bows on the notebooks and keep me posted as each batch was monogrammed. Thank you Claudia - you are the epitome of Customer Service.

Kristen C.

Yelp
Truly the nicest customer service here. Patient, thorough, and helps you walk through every small detail. Beautiful store you can get lost in. High recommending the monogrammed notebooks for last minute gifts.

Akash K.

Yelp
Helpful customer service wish they did not close so early! Tough to shop here otherwise

Yelp
I came here for last minute 2016 Christmas gift shopping. I got my fiance a nice watch but I liked the more fashion forward look with a large 47mm face. I ended up coming back to exchange the 47mm for a 41mm which the first sales guy did tell me was more popular for urban East Coasters. My first experience at the store was good with lots of holiday shoppers, but when I came back on the Monday after Christmas for the exchange was excellent. First, I got an awesome free parking spot right out front. I drove in from Jersey. It's less than half a mile from the Holland Tunnel. I treated myself to a cafe mocha from the cute front cafe. Cute but limited selection. So the excellent part came from the lovely sales guy Joel. JOE with an L. He was super patient and went above and beyond to help me choose the perfect watch. My fiance's new watch ended up costing less than the 47mm one so I got him another band for Spring/Summer and I got myself a light blue alligator band that fit my Cartier Tank. Looks great! Joel helped me custom fit my new alligator band to my Cartier. Joel was super professional, nice and friendly. I will definitely be back. And I will recommend this shop to my friends and family.

Jackie G.

Yelp
I bought my brother a watch for Christmas at a different location & got the wrong band size. When I went to this store after Christmas they could not have been nicer about changing out the band to the longer length version. Quick, painless & friendly!!

Paul D.

Yelp
What a fantastic store. A new import to the city from Detroit, with a hip industrial vibe throughout the store. They have a lot of press going around about their American made watches, which really are beautiful. Though that is only the tip of the iceberg. Here you will find beautiful leather goods, custom made bicycles, a great espresso shop up front and a friendly staff. I bought a beautiful bifold leather wallet - really lovely. This will be the shop of Christmas shopping for sure!

Joyce C.

Yelp
Came in to get a cardholder and the sales associate couldn't be nicer. I called ahead to ask if they have a specific product in stock and they hold it for me just in case. Shopping experience was really nice - both sales were friendly without being pushy at all. I would totally come to this location again! (This place has better service than the soho one imo)

Katherine B.

Yelp
I went here today to buy a wallet as a gift. The sales associate who helped me (I can't remember her name) was so lovely! She gave her honest opinions on items I was looking at, and I ended up with an amazing gift for my brother (with complimentary monogramming that took just two minutes). The beautiful gift wrapping was a great touch. The store is so nice and clean and organized. The products are amazing, which goes without saying. I had purchased myself a Birdy watch last year and I am in love with it, and always get tons of compliments. All of their items are so classic and high quality. Can't wait to come back!

Jay H.

Yelp
This is a beautiful store. I love the idea of it - leather goods, watches and the odd bike. These are all so well put together that you want to buy items just based on style. Which is a good thing - don't look too closely at the watches. They're not using a particularly good movement. Never bought anything from here, but always have a look though as I'm getting a coffee.

Lauren L.

Yelp
As a Detroit native, I'm a huge Shinola fan. I love the concept of making watches in Detroit, and I also love the focus on design and how much the watches are taking off. I was excited to see that Shinola chose to open a store in TriBeCa so that I could see all they had to offer in the true Shinola setting, as opposed to in a department of Bloomingdales. The store was really impressive -- it's a big space, and it definitely embodies Shinola's brand. They have a little coffee stand up from run by The Smile, with great coffee and pastries. As you walk back, you can look at all their watches, as well as their bikes and different products their curate from other brands they like. They even had beautiful flowers planted out front when I was there. Although they may have gotten more foot traffic placing their store on 5th avenue, I like the neighborhood where it is in TriBeCa, and I think (hope!) people will seek it out as a destination.

CHRISTINE Z.

Yelp
Absolutely adorable shop in Tribeca, tucked away on a side street. The display in the window had a bicycle, so my friend thought it was a bicycle shop, but luckily, she ventured inside and found a great little coffee stand as well as a beautiful store for leather goods and gifts. She took me there for the coffee, but I wandered around for a bit to take on the surprisingly cavernous space inside. There is a winding staircase to a second floor--I didn't go up there, but would gladly do so the next time I'm here. The downstairs has displays of leather goods-briefcases, journals, travel kits... Lots of cool things. Pricey, but chic. There is a focus on sustainability, and the Shinola journals have pages that are sustainably sourced from North America forests. They are smooth, and somewhat resemble moleskines (with a hefty price tag to match), but feel like great quality. The coffee place is called The Smile, and brews great cups of coffee at your standard $4.75 for a latte (Regular coffee is a little over $2, which is still okay for artisan coffee). The server was friendly--she joked about the smaller space of the coffee place relative to the store, but agreed that it was a nice place to work and hang out. I would love to come back here.

Yelp
Shinola/Smile Cafe NY Manhattan Tribeca 2pm Saturday 6th June 2015 Four Stars There was a nice lady told me that I could bring my dog into the shop. It was uncrowded except for a Tribeca lady ordering a almond milk latte with extra whatever. I got a Cold Brew coffee ($3.5). The coffee was strong, mildly acidic, with light bitter after taste. The cup was plastic greenware brand. The ice was cold draft cubes. There is a couple tables inside and table outside. They also have some pastries.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
I have been exploring these watches online and went into the Franklin Street (NYC) location a couple blocks from my apartment dead set on walking away with two watches today. I was in the store searching and not one of the multiple sales associates approached me for assistance. I waited and they approached every couple that walked in but not one word to me. Standing near me, one couple even asked for directions to another location (another store meaning they are buying at your location you numbskull) and the sales associate gladly continued to talk to them about other locations and not a word to assist me who was there to spend $$$$.... even after they left, not a word. I was literally weaving in and out of the store, no greeting, NOTHING! They were even offering drinks to other patrons but not a word to me. I guess if you go there better be a couple or you don't get noticed. I will NEVER return and they missed an opportunity to gain a loyal customer a couple blocks away. #customerservicenightmare

Jen L.

Yelp
It's a beautiful space, good to walk around and look at stuff on a cold day out. There's a cafe up front and you can walk straight to the back to the store. I got a linen notebook monogrammed for free. The people working the floor leave you to peruse but are nice to ring you up quickly. Only thing was that my monogram was punched a little too deep and ended up piercing the linen. Oh well, maybe it'll be better next time.

Noah N.

Yelp
The dark-haired female manager of this store was incredibly unfriendly. I brought in a watch that had been given to me as a gift, unworn, still in its wrapping, to see if I could exchange the strap. A couple of store employees told me yes, then she came over to tell me no. Instead of being apologetic about it, she was curt and unsympathetic. She then told me that the watch I had been gifted had probably been purchased at a Shinola outlet store. Hmm. In all seriousness, I understand that the store's policies are what they are, but a) I was trying to exchange a $200 alligator strap for a $95 leather strap (without asking to be reimbursed the difference), so, that seems like an instance where a manager might be able to make a judgment call and b) there's never an excuse for not being friendly, sympathetic, and accommodating. Fortunately, my experience was saved by a very friendly young male employee who went out of his way to help me and be accommodating. A+ to him...he should be running the store.

Chris L.

Yelp
It's bizarre how polite but low rated reviews don't get recommended by yelp,as assume the soft ware deletes these on the basis it might damage its advertiser as thus have a deleterious on the perceived utility of yelp. Anyway I will repeat Shinola watches are handsome as are their stores who have perfectly agreeable sales staff, but they can only sell things. If your watch has a battery that fails after a few weeks as did mine and the person st the other end of the phone says come on down to TriBeCa you might expect that they could replace a battery, But no,it has to go to Detroit.if it was a Patel I could sort of understand it but a battery. Its a nuts business model. Selling watches with batteries that have been activated in the factory and so can be run down if they hang around in the store as apparently mine was is also mad. Chris London Ps assume this will also be deleted by Yelp

Martin A.

Yelp
I've always been a fan of their premise of being made in Detroit. I stopped by the store yesterday in order to check out the watches. I have to say that Shinola watches look even better in person! Even though the store was crowded, I was offered help pretty quickly. The reason why I'm giving 5 stars is that the sales associate, Rigo, was extremely patient and helpful with me. I must have tried on a dozen watches before settling on my favorite Runwell! I have only been wearing the watch for a day, but I already love it! I have also received numerous compliments on it too! I will definitely be back!

Steve P.

Yelp
I got a shinalo watch about 3 years ago. bought it from a high end jewerly store in Omaha,NE. since then i have had to send it back 3 times! Twice for the band breaking and once for the knobs falling off. Although they did not charge me for repair, it did cost me $35 for shipping each time (the stores will not fix or put batteries in), it takes 3-8 weeks to get the watch back. I does look nice and does keep time though.... of course so does my Timex that i have had for 20 years. Better choices for the expensive watches. Not impressed with their claim to craftmanship.

Raphael R.

Yelp
I've been following the emergence of Shinola for a while now, ever since news of their watches began making its way on to the interwebs. I'm a watch freak, so I was excited: the Shinola style fits me perfectly. I love the look of the numbers on the watch face, and I love the colors. And, I like the Shinola story, how it's tied to Detroit and the city's possible renaissance. The watches are a little out of my price range at the moment -- I think they're around $550.00 -- but I'll start saving.

Grace R.

Yelp
Love the coffee bar in the front - Best espresso in TriBeCa.

Richard H.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience we had today. Reagan, our sales lady was patient, warm , engaging, and most helpful. Pierette, the store manager was also terrific. We were treated like family. I would highly recommend this store to anyone. The merchandise is top of the line and the service is first rate.

Tara G.

Yelp
Visited yesterday for a valentine's day gift for my husband and got a beautiful brown leather wallet with a copper zipper. The staff were very helpful and provided complimentary lettering/branding inside the wallet with my husband's initials. Will head back there for a watch in the next few months!

Darren M.

Yelp
Love this store and everything it stands for. Great staff great products and a really cool hidden coffee bar

Madhu R.

Yelp
Gorgeous, warm woody, old leather feel inside this coffeeshop/store. The coffee was great but the tiny individual zucchini bread with sesame seeds was butterry, moist, and had a great bourbon vanilla bean taste. Will definitely put this place down as a new favortie.

Collie B.

Yelp
Strong coffee getting poured by hot artsies that clearly wanna date finance guys by the way that they pretend not to care about the fact that my hair is wet so I obviously came from the gym? This is like a Hooters for dudes that read Details.

Lisa H.

Yelp
I would give it 4 or 5 stores for the products but the staff was mostly awful. I wasn't even acknowledged when I walked into the store. I was looking to buy a wallet and an iPhone case but I wanted to see the wallet in a specific color as I wanted to have it monogrammed. I could barely get my questions answered. There were others in the store looking at the watches and I guess their sale was more important than mine. I left without buying/ordering my wallet because poor service annoys the heck out of me. People are so stupid, you never know who has money to burn so you should make an effort with all of your customers. It's a real shame because the products were beautiful.

Alf O.

Yelp
Shinola is interesting. They sell leather and bikes, from Detroit. The sales people are very friendly, and its worth stopping in if you are strolling through Tribeca.

Michael M.

Yelp
I only go for the coffee shop and the staff here is super pleasant! The coffee is pretty darn good too! Hit 'em up and if you have money to burn check out the retail section...cause honey it ain't cheap1

Simone F.

Yelp
Yeah, it's pricey, but what a gorgeous showroom and nice salespeople! If only I could have given them bigger commissions on my purchases!

Lily S.

Yelp
LOVED coming here, really wanted to send some love to Sarah, she's sweet as can be and made us goofy tourists feel welcome. She went so out of her way to help me put together a custom watch and make it exactly how I wanted, she also gave us great recommendations to check out. All the staff is friendly and welcoming and we really appreciated it. Wish I could give them 6 stars.

Liz S.

Yelp
Gorgeous store!! My husband purchased a watch and loves it!

Patrick D.

Yelp
I Had a disappointing experience today at shinola's beautiful tribeca location. In search of a new watch strap, I thought immediately of shinola's amazing watch collection. I picked out a band that looked like a perfect fit for my watch. Using the same "eyballing it" method that I did, three of the store's employees told me it wouldn't fit. It looked really close.... Enough so that it could have gone either way. When I asked if we could just try it (they have the tools to switch the band in the store), they refused.  Now, maybe that is standard procedure with watch strap purchases - you have to buy before you try. But the whole thing just felt lazy. Taking 20 minutes and see if the leather fits through the watch is what I expected from a brand that boasts thoroughly made, durable, quality, go the extra mile products. I now look at Shinola a little differently. Seems to it would have been smarter just to try and see if it fit instead of talking me out of buying the $175 watch strap i was ready to splurge on.  Keep up the good work Shinola - if I could I would buy everything in your store. But the people on you sales floor should better reflect the spirit of your brand.

Kathryn M.

Yelp
Gorgeous store. Bought a blue leather cross body purse that I love. People were friendly there (more so than say at Steven Allan) which I think may be a related brand. A great store for gifts since the have beautiful things at a variety of price points. Espresso bar very chic though wished the baked goods were a bit yummier.

Matt S.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful stores in the planet. Really a great place in the heart of TriBeCa.

Jeff T.

Yelp
I was given run well chronograph and it failed to work out of the box.. I called the customer support staff at Shinola and was told to return the watch to the store. As this was a gift and I live more that an hour from the store I could not do this so I was told to send it to the factory. Although an out of box failure I was told the repair would take at least 12 business days. What I find disappointing is that this was a new watch, it didn't work and there was no effort to rectify this situation besides the normal company line. Word of moth is how a brand grows. My experience has not been good.
