Pretty good for a vegan! Vegan flavors could be creamier but also didn’t have that nutty undertone that many places do. The thanksgiving flavors are much appreciated. Serving sizes weren’t overly crazy either. Would come back!

They definitely have some creative and unique flavor profiles! Because of that, I wish that we could sample them! However they do give you a pretty generous mini scoop over your ice cream to sample other flavors! I will say that their waffle bowl/cone is TOO sweet, it would taste much better if they bought the sugar down a little! Otherwise, the salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough flavor is to die for! Definitely give it a try!!

Nice little spot with delicious ice cream. the staff are efficient and do a great job of answering any questions about the ice creams. Not much seating inside but you can take your treat out on the communal patio space. Very busy so keep that in mind, I guess thats the price you pay for good stuff! Highly recommended spot!

Salt & Straw is hands down my favorite ice cream spot, and for good reason. Their ice cream is the epitome of creamy perfection, with a soft, smooth texture that sets the bar for how ice cream should be. Each scoop is a testament to their skillful craft, offering a taste experience that's nothing short of sublime. I've visited Salt & Straw often, and my all-time favorite flavor was the James Coffee & Bourbon. It was the perfect blend of rich coffee and subtle bourbon, with just the right amount of sweetness. It was, without a doubt, the best flavor I've ever tasted. Sadly, it's no longer on the menu, and I'm writing this in hopes that they might BRING IT BACK someday. While their newer flavors are a bit sweeter than I prefer, the Chocolate Gooey Brownie is currently my go-to. It offers a deliciously decadent brownie experience that's hard to beat. Still, nothing compares to the James Coffee & Bourbon. The waffle cones at Salt & Straw are always fresh and delightful, with a wonderful aroma and a satisfying crunch that doesn't break easily. The staff are consistently friendly, attentive, and full of bright energy, adding to the overall positive experience. The interior is cozy and welcoming, and despite its small size, the line moves quickly. Here's hoping that Salt & Straw will bring back the James Coffee & Bourbon. Until then, I'll continue to enjoy their other offerings and appreciate the excellent service and atmosphere.

The ice cream here is delicious!! Their regular menu is unique and great and their seasonal specials are even more exciting. Honey lavender and goat cheese variations are my go-to picks. The staff is very nice and overall a great dessert option for my friends and family. The only problem I've had recently was that our waffle cones were so not fresh and soggy. We went a little after 6pm and it was not too crazy busy, so I don't know why the quality of the 3 waffle cones that we paid extra for were served that way. Hopefully, they do a better job next time.

I've been meaning to try this place for so long! Came to this specific location before 10 pm on a Tuesday. There were parking spots open along the street but surprisingly a good amount of people in the shop. The inside is small and there are some benches outside to sit at. The employees all were so friendly and kind. They let me, my boyfriend, and my little brother try as many flavors as we wanted. The selection was pretty interesting, not as expansive as Wanderlust but just as unique. I decided to try the strawberry balsamic with black pepper, the olive oil, and the peach & blue cheese. I really really enjoyed the peach & blue cheese so I got 1 scoop on a waffle cone. I wouldn't get a waffle cone again because the scoops are gigantic!! It is like $6 for 1 scoop but totally worth it since they give you so much. My brother got the honey lavender and the white chocolate almond (holiday flavor) while my boyfriend got a milkshake with honey lavender and pumpkin bread ("last scoop" previous season flavor). The milkshake comes with 3 scoops that you can mix and match. I was tempted to get one but it would probably be way too much for me. I don't think I would really get anything else but the peach & blue cheese out of their signature flavors. I do wish they had more fruity options that aren't sorbet. I'll be sure to check back for their seasonal flavors!

I liked their ice cream very different flavors but very good overall all. Tried it the first time in Portland on vacation then saw another location in Washington and went again.very yummy

Salt & Straw is definitely my favorite ice cream spot. My brother (a Salt & Straw enthusiast!) introduced me to the spot a while ago, so we make it a point to go when he's in town. I love the unique flavors they offer and look forward to seeing what they come out with every month. I thoroughly enjoyed trying the November flavors, as they have been some of my favorite monthly flavors. I highly recommend coming here when you're looking for a fun sweet treat! Some of my favorite classic flavors are Olive Oil, Honey Lavender, and Sea Salt with Caramel ribbons. I usually end up getting the Kid's scoop, as I find it to be the perfect size. The service is fantastic at every location, no matter how busy the place is. The workers are all so friendly and helpful. The shop gives pretty standard ice cream shop vibes. I will definitely continue to keep coming back!

It's really hard to find good artisan ice cream and salt & straw is one of the few that is consistently good! My go to flavors are the salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough and gooey brownie! And always get the cone! Their waffle cones are to die for. Ice cream is packed with flavors and hits that sweet spot! Service is always good even when they're busy with customers. The servers are always bubbly and are always willing to give samples and their opinion about new flavors! Definitely check it out if you're in the area

Ah yes some of the best ice cream in la! Tons of awesome rotating flavors you can even try before you buy. They had a bunch of cereal specials when I went I loved the lucky charms one! Also the resees puff one is so delicious! Will be coming back.

You'd be hard pressed to find any faults with Salt & Straw. They have amazing flavors, great service and even a bit of sidewalk seating. If anything, you may be annoyed with the long line that is ever present at this location. But that's just a testament to the deliciousness that is Salt & Straw. I've been to many locations but this one is closest to my home base so pop in from time to time. Parking can be rough as its located on the hot strip in Larchmont. But there is street parking and a lot across the street, so just keep your eyes peeled to eventually find something. As mentioned, you'll be met with a long line. But it moves pretty well and the staff is so darn friendly that your annoyance of a line will quickly dissipate. Plus it gives you time to peruse their menu board! They have a bunch of standard flavors, but also insanely creative and crazy one off flavors. Right now they have summer picnic flavors. The fried chicken is weird and fun to taste, as is the sour cherry pie. I wouldn't get a full bowl of it but the Baked Brie & Fig Cheesecake is calling my name, beckoning me to come back soon to give it a try. Highlights of their classics for me are the Sea Salt w.Caramel, Double Fold Vanilla, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Malted Cookie Dough, Pear & Blue Cheese and Mint Chocolate Chip. Admittedly that's most of the menu but I love everything I try here. I really like getting their ice cream flavors in milkshake flavors, too, not just scoops. Then you can have the flavors in an even more creamy consistency plus save some for later! Clearly S.S. [me] is a fan of S&S.

This is my 2nd time at Salt&Straw, the first being in Portland, OR years back. The flavor options have only improved! This time, tried my hand at the pear and bleu cheese! (who woulda thunk it!? ...for ice cream!) It was amazing! No complaints. The folks behind the counter were very friendly and generous! There's some seating outside also. I LOVE that the tasting spoons are not reusable plastic! YES! ...just a word of caution (nothing to do w Salt&Straw) but along N. Larchmont if you go at night, beware of the tree cockroaches. They blend right in.

A great ice cream shop that makes non traditional flavors. I have been to multiple locations of theirs and it's consistently good. They have unique flavors like pear and blue cheese or honey and lavender. Ask for a sample! Ice cream is good but prices are a bit steep and have only gotten more expensive in the last year. But we all need to treat ourselves every now and then and why not with some delicious ice cream?!

My first taste of Salt and Straw was in Portland and fell in love with craft ice cream. We went twice, hours apart... then the staff told us that there's a location in Los Angeles. Wow, we been missing out! I won a tasting at one of their locations and was able to sample each flavor. What a treat! My all time favorite is the Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache (was a classic and unfortunately, became a seasonal flavor during the pandemic), and my second fav is the Cold Brew Coffee Cashew Praline. Anyways, they provide super friendly customer service, and service is fast!

Salt and straw never misses! Hard to find an ice cream chain to top this one. Can never get bored of their flavors because they are constantly rolling out new seasonal flavors as well as their classic -- cold brew coffee cashew praline is my favorite. Their ice cream is not overly sweet and doesn't get heavy the more you eat. The perfect creaminess and texture with mix-ins. Free samples. Generous scoops. Love opting for half scoops to try more flavors. Split scoop: $5.75 + 0.50

Read all the great Yelp reviews and stopped in today after lunch in Korea Town. Sabrina is the best! She was patient and kind, gave us samples of many flavors. My friend and I had never been here and they have so many awesome and unique flavors. We finally settled on our flavors, I got mine in a waffle bowl, perfect size for one scoop. She actually split my scoop into two different flavors. The ice cream is delicious and nice portions. Parking is 75 cents for 30 minutes in the lot next door. I'm glad we stopped in. Sabrina definitely made the experience exceptional!

My favorite ice cream place! Ugh I'm obsessed with their chocolate gooey brownie flavor. I try to buy a pint whenever I can. But today I decided on the jasmine milk tea and sheesh it was soooo goooood. Been coming to salt&straw since forever and I'll never get tired of it. This place was so delicious! If you have ever had handles ice cream, it's hard to beat them but this place has them. The flavors they have are so unique! My favorite is the snickerdoodle. You can taste the creamy knees and chunks of cookie. So good. Definitely one of my top favorite places now! This is a MUST try place

Don't blink or you might miss it since it's kind of hard to see in between the other establishments on the street. There is metered parking all around and there's a parking lot but I'm not sure if they charge for parking. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, when I walked in there were people ordering and my turn came very quick. A nice gal took my order (double Sea salt with caramel ribbon on a waffle cone) and I was in and out in no time. As I walked down the street pass everyone they envied me walking with my giant two scoops of ice cream as it melted in the sun, it was so good.

Best ice cream on larchmont. Favorite is peanut butter and lavender. Not together. They give you flavors to taste. Lines can be long in summer. No seating inside and limited outside.

Their Honey Lavender is one of my favorite ice creams ever. It's so creamy and has such a nice floral taste without it being too subtle or overpowering. It's fragrant enough for lavender lovers but not too much for those that think it might taste too much like perfume. Parking here can be difficult but there is a parking lot across the street that's $1/hr and max 2 hrs or you can find metered parking.

Salt and Straw is a must-visit for any ice cream enthusiast! I'm giving it a solid 4 stars.

I'm a big fan of ice cream and I'd heard of Salt & Straw a while ago. My friend and I had eaten next door and decided to stop by for dessert! They have so many unique flavors. Staff were friendly and they also have vegan alternatives which is nice to see.

This is a Larchmont village gem . Folks come from far and wide to grab a taste of the Salt and Straw deliciousness and combination of flavors.

As good as ice cream gets. You never know what to expect, as their flavor profiles vary with the season. But if you like ice cream AND food, you'll LOVE this place. They go THERE. Even if you just want coffee ice cream, they'll show your tastebuds something new. Respect.

This is a gem. Glad I love close enough to come here regularly. It's on the larchmont strip filled with restaurants and shops. It gets very busy in the evening and weekends. Great service: you're welcomed and addresses as soon as you come in. Staff is friendly and helpful. The ambiance is clean and familiar just like all the other locations. NO indoor or outdoor seating, only a bench out front unfortunately. The homely lavender is by far the best flavor. Cute ice cream shop inside the Larchmont shops area. There's no room for seating so it's a grab n go. The service was very kind and patient, they let you try many free samples. They had a lot of unique flavors and even pet flavors. The ice cream tastes great and is worth a visit. You can park on the streets towards the end of the shops or the residential area. It's a nice walk up n down with many shops and farmers markets.

Salt and straw is known for their weird combos but they're not all great. I usually go for something normal and it's pretty good but maybe a bit overhyped!

We went there after dinner at Magal which is about 10 mins away. We went 10 mins before they closed so parking was not a problem at all. I got the salted caramel and it was good balance of sweetness and caramel sauce. Some place would overly put caramel on the vanilla ice cream. No seating tho :( would be better if they add outdoor sitting. They do have unique ice cream flavors. Service is fast as most of the employees were serving everyone right away as soon as they finished with the previous customer.

I came in a late Friday night it was about 10:30pm and I said what ice cream place is open late . Luckily I checke don't Yelp and Salt & straw was close to me so I came in for my favorite flavor . Considering I was taking a pint to go I just walked in and went straight to the fridge and picked out my favorite flavor then straight to the register . I parked at the Wells Fargo considering I wasn't going to be around long . Now I am enjoying my yummy ice cream . Such a cute establishment by the way !!! Can't wait to come back .

There was a hair in my ice cream. It was not the server's hair - this hair was mixed deep into the batch. No no no no no no no no no no no no! It may have been an accident, but I will never be able to forget it and I will never return.

I wanted to try this place ever since it first opened, but the location deterred me from coming here. Horrible parking, traffic, long lines, etc. Over the years I saw several other locations pop up, but none of them are conveniently located. I finally decided to try it today since I was already near this area. Since this is the first location it opened outside of Portland, figured this would be the best location to try. Got here around 3:45 p.m. today (Saturday) and wasn't that busy, although there was a steady flow of people coming in and out. It's a fairly small location and doesn't seem to have an option to eat inside, so it's best to just grab and go. The flavors here are definitely unique, almost to the point of being weird and wacky, although nothing really surprises me anymore. It offers classic flavors, and limited edition flavors, which change frequently. Right now it has The Friendsgiving Series, which is Thanksgiving inspired flavors. I ordered two flavors from each category. Cold Brew Coffee Cashew Praline (classic flavor) is the one I got for myself, but was my least favorite. I was hoping for a stronger coffee flavor, but was rather weak, and didn't really get the cashew praline flavor either. My wife got the Pear & Blue Cheese (classic flavor), which was surprisingly good. I wasn't too sure about this combination but the sweet and savory combination worked perfectly together. It had real chunks of pear, and sweetness was accentuated by blue cheese. The flavors I chose for my kids were actually better than the ones my wife and I ordered. Candied Walnut Cheesecake (limited edition flavor) was my favorite. It had rich cheesecake flavor, combined with walnut butter graham cracker crumble to give it a nice contrasting texture and flavor. It also had subtle hints of caramel and molasses. Sweet Potato Pie with Double Baked Almond Streusel (limited edition flavor) was buttery and rich. It had real chunks of sweet potato in the ice cream. It was pretty much like eating a sweet potato pie in ice cream form. Current price ranges between $4.35 (kids size) and $7.75 (double scoop). You can also purchase a pint for $12.50, or $14.75 for a flight sampler. Didn't see any option for free parking in this area. It's either metered parking or paid parking lot.

Cute location and great ice cream! We decided to stop here the other day to get some ice cream after dinner and it was a great experience. We got to taste many flavors before we decided to finally try one. You have to be vaccinated and show proof in order to taste test inside the store fyi. We ended up with 3 little pints of ice cream that totaled out to about $40. This place is definitely not cheap but you do get what you pay for in the great flavors of ice cream. Ice cream: weird flavors, genius combinations, great mix ins, odd combinations, really rich!

Made it just in time at 10:30pm right before they closed!! The gentleman that greeted us really knew his ice cream and his explanation of the menu was on POINT. I'm a berry person and he sensed me ogling over the seasonal berry menu and recommended the wild foraged berry slab pie. I took one taste of it and knew it was the one. 5 stars for excellent service and consistently delicious ice cream. They do have this new weird flavor spray option where they basically spritz essence of either chocolate, citrus or another flavor (can't remember the 3rd option) onto ur ice cream to give it an extra layer of flavor. I tasted the citrus on a bite of my berry slab pie and it was too weird. I kept thinking of the poopouri spray. Not sure why they had to do this but hey way to be unique. Hard pass.

This is one of my favorite places for vegan ice cream in Los Angeles. They always have really delicious vegan options- and creative too. I appreciate that since some places have vegan options and you can tell it's not thought out. Not this place. Every time I come, there's a good vegan option. The ice cream is creamy, refreshing, has the perfect flavor and the perfect texture. Street parking is pretty easy to find most times. Price is about $5-6 a scoop. Staff is always always always super friendly.

Amazing flavors here! I love salt and straw and this place doesn't disappoint! I love how unique the flavors are because you just can't get flavors like this anywhere else and they're high quality I got the huckleberry coconut with cornbread and the birthday cake with blueberries! The server Nicole was also really sweet and helped me make my decision (very hard) came for ice creams and stayed for all the vibes hanging out here!

the cutest ice cream shop in Larchmont Village! I love Salt and Straw bc of their seasonal flavors! I sampled a few of the flavors, got the jasmine milk tea & chocolate cookie dough in a waffle cone. The jasmine milk tea was a 7/10 (didn't have a strong jasmine scent) but the choco one was AMAZING, with chunks of brownie and cookie dough! The waffle cone was freshly made and paired so well with the ice cream. Will definitely be back to try other flavors - the lines are long but move quickly and the workers let you sample so many flavors until you find your fav!!

So much YES! Do you want inventive flavors to tantalize your palate? Look no further.. Salt & Straw is where you need to go! Their usual flavors are awesome, but their monthly flavors are what keeps me coming back on a monthly basis. And for this month, I'm trying to visit weekly to get my fix of Parker House Rolls with Salted Buttercream (hey! Don't knock it until you try it!). I love that their waffle cones are made in house and that their samples are served to you on a small metal spoon. The staff are super friendly, and the flavors have turned this girl who prefers cake over ice cream (me!) into an ice cream lovah lovah! But it's getting cold, you say? Then put on that jacket, go get the ice cream and thank me later!!

Stopped by here after having crab legs so I couldn't try everything I wanted to. I asked the associate for assistance on which flavors to pick she insistedI order the honey lavender. I ended up ordering a scoop of the sea salt with caramel ribbons and a scoop of honey lavender. Both were amazing but the honey lavender was so fresh and flavorful, I'd go back just for a pint or two of it. Friendly and speedy service & great flavors!

Have you ever spent $72 on ice cream? I certainly had not until yesterday, and I don't regret it one bit! I have heard amazing things about Salt & Straw, and I know there is one at Downtown Disney, but I would rather scrub toilets all day than go there. Since we knew we would be in LA yesterday, I looked up S&S locations, and we went to this one. We each got a scoop, sat outside on the bench and ate them. I had Cornflake & Marionberry, and it was legit the best ice cream I have ever had! He had a Marionberry sorbet that he loved, but it was too tart for me. We had planned ahead and brought a cooler in case we wanted to bring pints home. Yes, yes we did. I knew I wanted that Cornflake ice cream, but I wanted to try some samples. I hate being the annoying person who tries a bunch, but the girl helping us was SO SWEET and kept suggesting flavors for us to try. She was amazing! We ended up taking home 4 pints. The scoops, the pints, and a tip - she worked for it! - totaled $72. As we walked back to the car (in the ultra cheap parking lot, only 75 cents since we were there less than an hour) I said to my husband, "I just spent the same amount of money on ice cream that I usually spent on groceries for the week. He laughed and said, "it was worth it though." Yes, it was! Since I don't go to LA often, and I refuse to go to Downtown Disney, I am happy to see you can order online and have ice cream delivered to your house. I will definitely be doing that!

My go to is their honey lavender. Flavor is really nice and not the heavy like their other flavors. I tried the berries jam and confetti cake ice cream today but it was way too much jam so I got very tired of it. The worker helping us let us try samples but she was not in a good mood. When I asked her questions she would just nod and never smiled. Tbh it ruined my ice cream experience..

Salted Carmel is the best flavor here. Service is always patient and kind - they encourage you to taste everything ! And the ambiance - well it's ice cream who can be mad about that !

when someone asks what my favorite ice cream is, I will always say anything from salt and straw. I first tried salt and straw in Oregon many years ago, and fell in love with the unique flavors and creamy texture. Salt and Straw almost always has a line, but I promise you it's worth it! My personal favorite is lavender, as it tastes how a spa day feels. I also love the strawberry jelly ribbon one. Salt & Straw employees are always nice, and take extra caution for food allergies. I was with someone with celiac, and they opened up a new tub of ice cream for him to prevent cross contamination. I would highly recommend getting a flight of ice cream so you can try all of the flavors!

My second time here in 6 years and I love it! The servers were friendly and patient as I wanted to try so many flavors. Their ice cream is creamy and not too sweet. The portions are huge, which I love, for the price. I thought the scoops would be small, so I ordered 2 scoops but I could hardly finish it. I had a scoop of the Coffee & Love Nuts and a scoop of Sea Salt w/Caramel Ribbons. Both amazing! I will definitely return when Im back in Cali. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures!

REALLY good ice cream! Have sampled ice cream at two locations, and only wish there was a location near me. Actually, maybe not, as I'd want to go there every day. The Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip is my favorite. It very cool and refreshing, especially desirable on a warm day. And, it has an added bonus of being vegan, for those looking for vegan offerings. I also liked a Lavender favored offering, which I was hesitant to try, since while I like the scent of lavender, but I don't think of lavender as an edible food smell. Taking the first taste, I wasn't sure what I thought, but with the second lick, I thought 'yum'...creamy and enjoyable.

The 3 stars is for the experience not the ice cream itself. I have been here twice before with no issues or complaints, but I felt compelled to write about the slight I had here at this location tonight. Got here around 9 PM on a Sunday before I headed back to my friend's. Ended up waiting in line, which is completely understandable since there is such a unique selection of ice cream flavors. I was bumped into by one of the associates trying to grab pints from the freezer near where customers wait in line, which I shrugged off, even though she could've said, "excuse me", and although I moved over for her to pass through. Was shortly helped thereafter by an associate, but somehow the group of three behind me ended up getting in line in front of me and one of the people from that group elbowed me. The associate helping them was a blonde-hair blue-eyed guy that was tall with medium/long-lengthened hair that was anticipating them from what I could tell. I was finished with my order and should've been rung up at the register before that group since I was waiting in front of them and was helped before them as well. The male associate I described asked me if I was being helped and I said, "Yes, but I don't understand how I the group behind me was helped first and was being rung up before me." He said, "oh, well I wanted to see if you were being helped already," which did not answer my question or explain how they somehow cut in front of me in line. I rushed to get out of there since this was a very awkward and unpleasant experience and he - not sure if he was sincere or sarcastic- said, "have a good night!" as I made me way out the exit. Will be returning, but perhaps not on a weekend or at night, unless I am interested in being overlooked or bumped into by both associates and customers...
