"Stopped at Hatch’s Fish Market in Wellfleet on the way out to pick up some of their kippered salmon. It is the best I’ve ever had. It feels sacrilege to say this, but it’s even better than the kippered salmon at Russ & Daughters. We also picked up Portuguese muffins for tomato sandwiches, which are like a larger and slightly sweeter English muffin."

"We spent a lot of time at the markets at La Bufadora, it was so much fun. All the shops are connected, it’s like a pathway. The stores don’t really have names, they’ll just say like, “Piña Colada,” and you go in and it’s the best piña colada."

"Meanwhile, my husband, because he can’t fit his longboard on the mini-plane, stops by the surf shop Jobbies Longboards. To rent a decent board, it’s $20 per day; he rode a Robert August 7’6” on our last trip this past April. You can also rent boogie boards for the kids, although I just buy them at one of the local supermarkets because they’re so cheap."

"We, being the explorers that we are, drove to the beach over there, Polihale State Park. In order to get there, you have to drive off road a bit. We saw people driving in regular cars, but I would recommend a car you can take off road. Once you get there, you can walk out to the beach and get great views of the coast."
