A cozy Caribbean spot serving up mouthwatering dishes like jerk chicken and curry, attracting a diverse crowd with its friendly vibe and unbeatable value.
"Picking up a patty or two from Peppers & Spice has long been one of our favourite activities around Dalston. In fact, everything from this Caribbean takeaway favourite hits the mark. Their jerk—marinated, oven-cooked, and finished on the grill—is best slathered with a pot of fruity, punchy sauce, and although it’s not cooked fresh, the skin still retains a smoky hit. On a full plate next to their oxtail stew and macaroni pie, it makes for an extremely satisfying meal. Expect to queue, have a nice chat, and leave very happy." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna
"Picking up a patty or two from Peppers & Spice has long been a it-would-be-rude-not-to rite of passage when around Dalston or Bruce Grove. But, the jerk chicken from this takeaway favourite always hits the mark too. Their jerk—marinated, oven-cooked, and finished on the grill—is best slathered with a pot of fruity, punchy homemade sauce. Although not cooked fresh, the skin still retains a smoky hit and on a full plate next to their macaroni pie, makes for an extremely satisfying meal. Expect to queue and expect to have a nice chat." - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak

Their Tottenham location is also excellent." - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley
"The Tottenham outpost of Peppers & Spice isn’t dissimilar to its Dalston sibling—it’s still takeaway-only and you should still always get a meat patty to keep you going. But, in our humble opinion, this location of the Caribbean spot is just that little bit tastier. Maybe it’s because we’ve never had to queue for as long. Or maybe it’s because our football allegiances mean our expectations are unfairly lower in this area. But the jerk chicken has always been that bit more tender and the jerk sauce fully popping with scotch bonnet. Locals probably feel the same: this tiny takeaway shop is never without a queue. We never thought we’d say it but… Tottenham is the one in this case." - Jake Missing
"Macaroni pie - £2.50 We’ve had many a patty and a lot of jerk from this Caribbean takeaway spot in Dalston, but their macaroni pie - a gooey, cheesy brick that’s crisp on top with just the right amount of stodge - is never not welcome in our life. Ask for a pot of fruity and fiery jerk sauce on the side to pour over." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
