"Kismet’s bright, airy space might look like it’s made for daytime - but we like this place even better at night. The menu reads something close to Eastern European, plus a whole bunch of colorful vegetables. Think Persian cucumbers with citrus, roasted radicchio with sunflower seed tahini, and a rabbit for two you’ll definitely want to get involved in. The modern space is mellow and ideal for that early-in-the-game date you don’t want to get too romantic." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox
"Kismet in Los Feliz is the perfect example of a “Mediterranean” spot (read: the menu is geographically broad). It’s kind of Persian, sometimes Turkish, other times Levantine, yet everything has a general sense of health and tastes delicious, like cucumber salad on rosewater-infused labneh, lamb ribs brushed with a tart plum sauce, and crispy tahdig rice with a golden, buttery crust. Kismet’s menu changes with the seasons, but it’s always a reliable choice for casual and crowd-pleasing dinner. " - sylvio martins, brant cox, nikko duren
"All-around excellent Los Feliz spot Kismet is offering a bunch of classic New Year’s Eve dishes, like shrimp cocktail, mushroom velouté, and duck a l’Orange, among a bunch of other things you’d eat if your last name was Rockefeller or Hearst. It’s $100-per-person - order online." - brett keating
