"Home to some of the best cinnamon buns in the Nordics, Juno is run by Swede Emil Glaser, a veteran of Noma. The tiny bakery in Østerbro is a year-round winner, from semlor (cream-filled buns) on Shrove Tuesday in February to lussekatter (saffron buns) in December, and it’s always worth any wait for a chance to try the black cardamom buns and croissants. When you finally reach the front of the queue, pair your prizes with a cup from Koppi, the Swedish company that has played a vital role in advancing Scandinavia’s coffee scene." - Anna Norström, Gabe Ulla

"GO HERE: to continue the grand American tradition of standing in line for delicious pastries and bread at this lo-fi bakery from former Noma pastry chef Emil Glaser. He rewards all who brave the line with lovely traditional buns flecked with black cardamom, often hot from the oven, as well as other treats like croissants. ORDER THE: cardamom rolls (saffron around the holidays), croissants, seeded rolls with Comté, tebirkes (poppy seed pastry), and seasonal tarts. Toward the end of the day, sourdough loaves emerge to take home for dinner. Stock up on the seedy rolls for breakfast the next day, perfect with a coffee made from cult Swedish roaster Koppi. THE VIBE IS: minimal but somehow very Instagrammable, thanks to the great light and pretty ceramics. PRACTICAL STUFF: Open Wednesday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Monday and Tuesday. —Christine Muhlke" - Condé Nast

Google
The best bakery that we tried in Copenhagen by far (and we tried a lot)!! The cardamom buns were far and away the best. We came twice: once on the weekend late in the morning. Line was long but it moved pretty fast. The second time we went during the week around 8am. There was no line, but the options were much more limited. They had cardamom buns and croissants, but they told us the more elaborate cream-filled buns wouldn’t be ready until around 9:30am, so keep this in mind if you go early.

Google
It was quite busy when we arrived in the morning and I get why. There are chairs outside but it can be full. The pastries and bread are definitely worth the wait and hype! I also got some Danish cookies and they are equally dangerous and quite addictive.

Google
Great bakery! The line was long but it moved quick. The pastries look beautiful. We got the cardamom bun, lemon cream bun and the fastelavn. The flavours were great. I also took a loaf of sourdough home and it was a very decent loaf. However, we got coffee and they only served us filtered coffee. I would prefer a machine made coffee but i guess it is better for the queue. The sitting area outside has enough places for about 20 people though it is very cute.

Google
Delectable baked goods with an indulgent twist. Easily the best bakery I’ve ever tried, like EVER. Understated ambiance, simple presentation and yet massive flavours. Everything is the best version in itself and it surprises with maximalist combos.

Google
Highly recommend this place when in Copenhagen. Very delicious treats. Tried cardomom bun, vanilla bun and lemon cake. They were treat to the taste buds. Also black coffee was good.

Google
I’ve been looking forward to visiting Juno. There was already a queue when I arrived at 7:30am, but it’s worth all the hype they deserve. The service was efficient and friendly, and all the bakes were top-quality. One of the best places to get a cardamom bun and almond croissant in Copenhagen. A must-visit!

Google
Went there in June 2024 LOVE the croissant and pain au chocolat the most. Flaky outside, buttery and have a nice bite inside. It's crowded, but we managed to get a table (7 of us) Cardamom bun is nice too, very comforting The strawberry custard is creamy, nice balance of sweetness Would love to come back again ♡

Google
Visiting Juno was definitely worth it. It took around 15 minutes at 10am to get inside, not too bad! The bun was delicious, but my favourite was the vanilla bun. The filter coffee was also lovely

Srikrishna G.

Yelp
It was an amazing bakery in a small nook. Limited seating outside, but cant beat the crisp pastries & freshly made cakes. They just have regular pot coffee only. Well worth the visit. Bought cookie boxes for family back home.

Yelp
A must visit in Copenhagen. Even though there's often a long line, it's definitely worth the wait. The moment you step inside, you're greeted with the delighted sent of freshly baked pastries. One standout is their cardamom buns, which are uniquely spiced and deliciously fragrant. Their croissants are also amazing - crispy on the outside and buttery on the inside. Everything is baked with such attention to detail, and you can taste the quality in each bite. Can't wait to come back again next time when I visit Copenhagen.

Nicole W.

Yelp
Did Juno, this is one of the best pastry shops in Copenhagen? Located just off the M3 line this place is really easy to get to. We stopped in during the week and tried a few of their pastries: croissant (the best I've tried in Copenhagen), cremé bun (so much filling, not overly sweet), saffron bun (really interesting flavor but not my favorite), cardamom bun (string cardamom flavor and well baked). They unfortunately don't have any seating inside but do have a bunch of tables out front. I'm sure it would be wonderful during the spring/ warmer times but that being said there were plenty of people sitting outside. Overall, definitely recommend checking out this bakery!

Nick G.

Yelp
Juno the Bakery is simply a must visit in Copenhagen. Get there early before the doors open or else there will be a huge line. Every item I tried was perfection. The bun with butter was light and airy, with a simple yet irresistible flavor. The pan de chocolate was divine , flaky on the outside and rich with just the right amount of chocolate on top. The cardamom bun. Wow. Fragrant, subtly spiced, and not too sweet, it was the perfect pairing with a morning coffee. The vanilla danish with custard was another highlight, with a creamy, silky custard that balanced the crisp pastry shell. And the almond croissant was a show-stopper, filled with a delicious almond paste that made each bite unforgettable. Everything here feels like it's made with the utmost care, and the quality is unbeatable. Highly highly recommend.

Michelle O.

Yelp
Given ALL the hype it's rather impressive that these pastries rise to the challenge. We arrived on Saturday at around 1pm and there was a line of maybe 20 people, but it moved quickly. After about 15 minutes we had our 3 pastries. Cardamom bun definitely takes the #1 spot, perfectly balanced flavors and texture. The other pastries were also very good tho! I'd recommend getting your coffee elsewhere, such as Kap3 down the street like we did. Juno seems to have drip but, take advantage of the local coffee scene! There's limited seating in the cute Juno courtyard, but prepare to have to take your pastries to go.

Andrea R.

Yelp
My family and I recently visited Copenhagen and Juno was on our list of places to try! It came highly recommended. We arrived at about 8:30 in the morning, and there was a short line. It was raining, and I expect the line would've been longer, had it not been raining. The inside of the bakery was small and had standing room only, but there was a small patio outside with plenty of outdoor seating. The bakery itself where everything gets baked is large, and you can see it from the counter. The counter is stocked with breads and pastries, as well as teas for purchase. Everything looked delicious and freshly prepared. The bakery smelled absolutely incredible! We purchased a cardamom bun, vanilla bun, almond croissant, and a slice of lemon cake. Everything was amazing! The cardamom bun was perfect. The vanilla bun was basically a cinnamon bun with vanilla custard (great combination). The almond bun was tasty, and the slice of lemon cake was refreshingly citrusy. I'm very glad we made the trek out to Juno on this trip, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Definitely worth the try!

Alice D.

Yelp
I heard about this spot on tiktok (hehe) & decided to pop in on my very short layover in Copenhagen... reaaaaally glad I did! Even on a cold, rainy morning the line was out the door & down the front patio, so I could tell the hype was real. This pastry, which was a croissanty danish filled with creme and a marmalade (orange? apricot?!) and topped w fresh raspberries, was ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. I'm kinda mad at myself for scarfing in down in one tiny minute..... but gawd I couldn't resist. It was v expensive (like $8 USD) but honestly worth it. Highly recco!

Amanda C.

Yelp
Everything I imagined and more. The baked goods here are so so good and there was a line out the door through closing time, mixed with locals, expats, and tourists. No indoor seating, all outdoor. Casual but cute vibes. We arrived around 2pm and there wasn't as much variety as the mornings but I luckily snatched a cardamom bun, cream bun, and milk bread. The cardamom bun was strong and still warm. Flavorful, aromatic, and soft on the inside. Milk bread bun was pillowy soft and a great plain option. Cream bun was the ultimate winner, the cream is amazing, not too sweet, light but flavorful. Best pastry I had on my 12 day trip through Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The bakery was a bit out of the way to get to from where we were staying but so worth the visit. Highly recommend.

Andrew K.

Yelp
The hype for this place is so strong. And the line is reflective of that. If there weren't a line outside not sure I would've thought much of it, as it could be a cute neighborhood bakery. The seating area is actually quite ample but fills up quickly. The apple rhubarb pastry was fairly good, worth trying. Interestingly, there weren't a ton of pastries on display that I was super wanting to try, so I wonder if a lot of the hype is around the taste or the experience. There are a lot of park spaces/coffee shops nearby you can bring the pastries to so as not to resort to eating the pastries on the street!

Clau R.

Yelp
Juno came highly recommended to me an my family when we were visiting Copenhagen. We read everywhere online that it was a MUST, so we made sure to carve out some time early in the morning to walk over there. It opens at 7:30, and we got there just after 8, which ended up being a great time. They had not run out of things yet, but there was already a line, although it moved quickly. Juno has a few tables outside that you can sit out, but we did not find any available, and it had just started to rain, so we took our pastries to go. The pastries were delicious and fresh, and definitely lived up to the hype! I highly recommend checking out Juno, but go early and be prepared to wait on line.

Michelle S.

Yelp
Probably the most well known bakery in Copenhagen, especially for their cardamom buns (32DKK). There were surprisingly no lines when I came in, however I did not see their almond croissant (which I also would like to try, maybe next time). The bun itself was quite lovely, less sweet than cinnamon buns but more fragrant, with the sea salt on top providing a nice balance. Keep in mind that they only have filter coffee.

Rani T.

Yelp
The line was on to the street before opening and that's how you knew it was going to be good. The cardamom bun was a creative take and had a deep flavor with mild sweetness. The vanilla custard was a little sweeter and tastes like a very well done classic. They were making so many pastries that morning so you are sure to get something fresh and delicious.

Lilian Z.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday morning around 10am and queued for roughly 40 minutes. Surprisingly I found the wait to be 100% worth it because I had the best almond crossaint of my life here! It is served warm, the filling is a nice sweetness, and the pastry is just perfectly flaky. I also tried the sourdough bread, which comes with butter and cheese. It was good, but not as much of a standout as the crossaint.

Chris C.

Yelp
There might be a line but it moves fast. We went around 8:30AM on a Sunday and only waited a few minutes. I went back closer to 10AM on a Thursday and there was no line (though a short one formed when I left a few minutes later). My wife says this is the only bakery we've had so far where she liked most of the things we got, whereas in other bakeries (several with Michelin star chefs also), there were only one or two things out of the half dozen+ that we usually get that she liked. It's goooooood. The flavors are unique and vibrant, and the pastries are so soft. Sure, the cardamom bun is good, but I loved the pain suisse (with Juno Rocher chocolate) and saffron bun. So much flavor! They also have cookies and chocolates to take home in nice, minimalist tins with their logo, so they make good gifts - I bought 3 round tins to take home to family. The expiration dates posted on the tins were 3 months out, so that made it easy to get some for family we weren't immediately going to see upon our return. There's no space inside to eat as it's a takeout place only, but in the courtyard outside there are a few tables with chairs, though you're in the elements (freezing cold in the winter, hot in the summer). Nevertheless we found it comfortable enough in late November to sit for a few minutes and eat the hot pastries quickly. It's a bit of out the way as you have to take the metro a bit outside of the city center, and walk a short distance. But it's worth the trip!! So much that I went back a second time in the same trip.

Lily H.

Yelp
Just ok. Ventured out of our way here to try pastries. The smell of fresh baked goods hits you when you walk in, but the variety was lacking. We tried one that had some apple jams filling. I asked what another one in process of being made was. The cashier said it was chocolate and vanilla cream. We waited for it and it turned out to be vanilla cream with yet more apple jam filling. Very specific flavor to have such repetitive options. The filling was also falling out of the bottom of the pastry. Recommend Skt Peders over this spot.

Leila G.

Yelp
Definitely worth the queue and wait (which wasn't too long tbh around 10-15 mins), had the delicious custard danish, cardamom bun and the almond bun. It's a small little cafe, so not much seating currently as they are renovating but if you like me, I found a bench just across the road and enjoyed my buns

Kayla M.

Yelp
Honestly the best cardamom buns I've ever had and I love cardamom buns in general. The addition of extra cardamom in the sugar on top is very thoughtful and ensures a good flavor to complement the perfect texture. The other pastries are good, but I believe the cardamom buns really shine and make this a five star establishment for me. Line was long but moved very quickly and there is a lovely playground across the street where I took my kids to enjoy our spoils!

Jessica R.

Yelp
Greetings from Juno the bakery! Worth the hype? I would say it's worth a trip if visiting. My husband had the custard pastry (will add photo soon) and that in our opinion was a must! Everyone liked it better than my cardamom bun. The coffee was excellent too! There's a sweet park for those with children across the street ( will post those pics soon too). The line could be long but it moves. Also, seating could be a challenge since many hold seats for people they're waiting for. Might go back today for more!

Lucy V.

Yelp
This was our very last stop before we had to fly home! Many people said this bakery is a must as far as visiting so we woke up early to make sure we can get a few goods before going back to the US. They open at 0800 on Sunday's. We got there about 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line! Once they opened, the line moved efficiently. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bakery smelled so amazing. It was hard narrowing down what to get so we got a bunch of things lol We got cardamom buns, rhubarb pastry, almond pastry, and a chocolate croissant to go. All the pastries were very delicious! I think my favorites were the almond pastry since it had some almond filling and the cardamom bun because of how unique it is. All the pastries were the perfect texture and just so good. Definitely make a stop if you're ever in Copenhagen!

Rachel C.

Yelp
The cardamom bun may have been the best pastry of my life-soft, not too sweet. Love that they serve Prolog coffee, too.

Dylan K.

Yelp
American here! While some indoor seating would be wonderful, I was quite happy to have cardamom buns!

Alyce B.

Yelp
If you visit any bakery in Copenhagen JUNO is a must. Worth the wait and treat yourself to the cardamom breads

Bessie T.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Copenhagen, you MUST visit Juno the Bakery and try their cardamom buns!! Unfortunately I wasn't able to try their other pastries, but the cardamom buns are to die for. Truly one of the best things I've ever eaten. They are soft/fluffy and crunchy on the outside, and just perfection. The staff are also super nice and helpful, always serving with a smile! There's often a line here as well, but the line goes quickly and it's definitely worth the wait.

Austin G.

Yelp
While visiting Copenhagen for a week, my friend I visited one to two bakeries a day, trying many pastries. By far the best is June the Bakery in Østerbro. It's a bit north of central Copenhagen, but worth the visit even if you have to walk for an hour. Get yourself to Juno pronto. Led by a former Noma chef, the bakery uses a mix of Danish and Swedish flours, staying true to the chef's Swedish background. In fact, the most popular pastry from Juno is their cardamom bun, a Swedish classic. Selling at 25 krone a piece, they are so popular, they keep a fresh plate of them on the shelf throughout the day. That means no matter when you go, they will be warm and chewy on the inside. The cardamom bun is so good that you'll eat it in a few seconds, but in case you need then, there are a few tables outside.

Carrie S.

Yelp
Yummy! I had the rhubarb roll and pain at chocolate. Both were delicious. Don't be worried about the line it moves very quickly. Well worth a try!

Aeris W.

Yelp
3.5 stars Had high hopes for this bakery, especially for the cardamom bread, but it was a huge disappointment. Came here with a few local friends and picked up the cardamom bread and the almond croissant. Took a bite of the cardamom bread and my heart sank. It looked way better than it tasted, which was disappointing as this is what they're known for? The cardamom taste was there, but the taste/texture was mediocre. Nothing special. My friend said the same thing about the saffron bread. So sad. The almond croissant had lots and lots of almonds on it and it tasted great (hence 3.5 stars instead of 2), but still, not something I'd go out of my way for, which we did. Sorry, Juno, not a fan!

Jamie S.

Yelp
Unreasonably delicious, had the best cardamom knot of my life here. Was buttery, fresh, and perfectly crispy on the outside while tender on the inside. We went later in the day (~4pm) and they were still freshly baking pastries - managed to snag a cardamom knot right out of the oven. This was a very welcome change from bakeries in the US where everything is soldout by noon - much more leisurely and relaxed here. Also got a danish to go, where the lamination was done equally perfectly. Although it's a bit out of the way - it's worth the detour (and there's great shopping nearby-ish - like stine Goya gallery!)

Michael U.

Yelp
Like all-things noma Juno the Bakery has garnered a lot of praise since opening, its location in an Østerbro residential building doing nothing to dissuade guests from lining up for a taste of goods baked by former noma Pastry Chef Emil Glaser. Currently occupying a fraction of its original space, renovations promising more room to work and seat diners Wednesday to Saturday from 07h30 to 18h00 and Sunday from 09h00 to 15h00, early arrivers will find the team hard at work while a lone clerk tends to orders and another makes Coffee. Priced similar to Hart, just four Pastries lining a row above Loaves and Rolls, it is after a quick queue that teeth can plunge into complex Sourdough impregnated with toasted Seeds or what many consider Scandinavia's premier Cardamom Roll that is somehow both golden-brown on the outside and nearly the texture of Butter within. Fortunate to receive all but the Roll warm, Pain au Chocolate shattering to yield molten insides, Nuts find themselves incorporated into every crevice of both Glaser's Almond and Pistachio Croissant, the better version a toss-up since each are irreproachable in terms of their taste and texture.

Kelley C.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast after reading other reviews. It truly lived up to expectations. We arrived around 9 and waited in line about 20 minutes. The bakery is located in an off-the-beaten-path neighborhood. If taking public transportation, be prepared to walk or take a bus. The cardamon buns were exquisite. Heavy on the cardamon so you have to like the spice. We also ordered plain buns which we had buttered and served with cheese. The bread was hot and the cheese and butter melted in our mouths. My husband ordered cream filled donut-like pastry. The cream was light and perfectly sweetened. The croissants were also delicious. The outside seating area is small, but cozy. There were no seats available, so we walked to a coffee shop about 3 blocks away where we had lattes and ate our pastries. We will go back to Juno's the next time we are visiting Copenhagen.

Mj O.

Yelp
So when in Copenhagen the sis in law decided to share this gem of a bakery. We have not had anything but the cardamom buns but the line is always long and there are always a couple of tables outside. Line moves fairly fast and we are Always left with the best cardamom buns. With the cardamom baked in unlike some other places.

Mary D.

Yelp
This bakery has changed my life- their cardamom buns are to die for. I went every day they were open during my stay in Copenhagen, including the morning I left which almost made me miss my flight! The dough is simply perfect- the layers, the texture, the seasoning... I also tried many of their other pastries, all of which were phenomenal. I highly recommend the pain au chocolat and their sour dough bun with cheese and butter, but really you can't go wrong with any of their offerings.

Glenn J.

Yelp
What a lovely spot for coffee. The staff could not have been more pleasant. We visited while their site nearby was being renovated but sat in a pleasant corner garden for our coffee and pastry. They were so helpful in their descriptions of the choices to match our favorite tastes. Would return for sure!

Sam K.

Yelp
The cardamom rolls are spectacularly good The addition of cardamom to a sweet roll is pure genius.

Fernanda S.

Yelp
Juno is one of my favorite bakeries in the world. The smell of the cardamon buns you can sense from around the corner, will be enough to lure you inside and make you get as many pastries as your hunger can fit. Everything here is made to perfection, not just on the execution but also on the flavor. The croissants are crunchy and moist, the sourdough bread is delicious and even the coffee is well done. I recently made an order for NYE with a few creamy hazelnut puffs and a kransekage and everything was fantastic. The shop is now bigger and has a lot of sitting outside, which we will hopefully enjoy during Summer 2021 - COVID allowing. (If you are in and around Copenhagen in February make sure to get a semla.)

David H.

Yelp
great cardamom bun, warm, beautiful texture and flavor although a little sweet for my taste. The pistachio croissant was amazing as well, great flaky texture and flavor. Favorite pastries I tried in Copenhagen

Jeremy S.

Yelp
This place is ridiculous. Ridiculously amazing! The sourdough is the best I've ever had, not to mention all the other pastries which are great too. The line is worth the wait. Don't be afraid. The staff is extremely pleasant and the line moves smoothly. Thank you Juno!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
The morning of my flight back to the US, it was imperative that I make the trek from Indre By, Copenhagen's bustling city center where I was staying with a friend, to Østerbro to try Juno the Bakery. Even though my friend had just moved from the states to Copenhagen a little over a week before I arrived, he raved about the unbelievably amazing baked goods he got from Juno and insisted I stopped by. Of course, since I was only in the city for 3 days, I packed my schedule with wandering and left this for last, but I'm so glad I did. It was the cherry on top of my already great trip and allowed me to bring some of these delectable delights to my friends at home. While we walked over from the metro on a slightly damp morning in September 2022, I could tell we were close to the bakery by the aroma of cardamom and wafts of buttery dough that reached out from the bakery. If you can smell the quality from a few blocks away, you know it's an excellent bakery. I made sure to get a large bag of pastries to bring back, including crispy/flaky croissants, but most importantly their cardamom knots. Thankfully the bag of goods fit into my backpack and to the dismay of the passengers around me on my 10+ hours flight home, the mouthwatering aroma permeated the plane every time I opened my backpack. Best thing on the menu: Cardamom knots - Unctuous brioche knots adorned with rich cardamom and sugar that satisfy your senses Ambiance - whimsical, almost fairytale like cottage building with a small garden, which included a couple of metal tables for guests to quickly nosh on their pastries before carrying on with their day.

Delna J.

Yelp
I can't say more other than please make your way here during your time in Copenhagen. We were visiting and staying in central Copenhagen, so it was a bit of a hike on the metro from there. Entirely worth it. The cardamom bun itself is worth the trip - soft but chewy on the inside, the perfect size (but you might want another), with the smell of fresh cardamom and perfect amount of sweetness. We shared a cardamom bun and almond croissant (also amazing) with a warm coffee by their Christmas tree outdoors, and didn't feel cold despite the winter weather. I would take the trip again just to come back to Juno :)

Kian A.

Yelp
Absolutely worth the hype and worth waiting in the line that always seems to be out front. The cardamom bun is perfect, and the filter coffee I ordered was spectacular. This will be one of my first stops on my next visit to Copenhagen.

Sheri C.

Yelp
Came here around 10:30am on a Saturday and the line wasn't too bad - it moves quickly. The staff was pleasant, and they were disinfecting the door handle regularly. We ordered Juno's signature cardamom buns which were a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The texture of the bun was the perfect amount of crispy on the outside, balanced by a soft, sweet dough on the inside. The blend of spice and sugar was delightful. I'll definitely be back to try their other pastries! The only downside is that they don't have any crafted coffee beverages - only black coffee. If Juno had more variety with their coffee, they would deserve 6 stars.

Shirley X.

Yelp
So delicious! It was so good my husband got a second one after we finished the first. The saffron knot and cardamom knot are both outrageously delicious. I love walking around in the neighborhood as well! It was a fun adventure

Carol L.

Yelp
The savory "pizza bread" we got was delicious as was the cinnamon roll. Great grab and go option. Honestly some of the best pastries we had in our stay here.

Shirley L.

Yelp
The cardamom buns here are insanely good. If you're lucky, you'll get a fresh, warm batch, and your life will be changed forever. The blend of spices is so unique and is unlike anything I've ever had before. It's a little bit sweet, a little bit savoury, a little bit herby... and the bun itself is soft, buttery, and fragrant. I've stood in line for them (the staff are pretty efficient, so the line tends to move pretty fast), and trekked here in the rain for them. Always worth it. They don't have a huge selection of baked goods, but that doesn't matter, because everything else is secondary compared to those glorious cardamom buns. I've tried a couple of their other pastries (almond croissant, apple tart), and they were good, but didn't leave much of an impact on me. Grab and go, because it's a tiny place and there is very limited seating inside.

Marina K.

Yelp
Worthless croissants, but seriously addictive cardamom buns. It's annoying and stressful to wait in the long line that usually spills out from the tiny bakery and snakes down Århusgade, but all is forgiven and forgotten once you get a taste of that soft buttery cardamom goodness. Don't forget to bring home a loaf of their rugbrød. It's just that right amount of crunchy and soft that makes you keep coming back for another slice.

Ray M.

Yelp
It lives up to the hype. There was a long line up outside the door (understandably), but I was appeased by the HEAVENLY smell that wafted from the inside. The selection was unfortunately a bit limited because I entered while some of their items were still cooling. I got the kardemomme snurre (what I came for) and the pistacie croissant (spontaneously). The snurre was 25 kr and the croissant was 35 kr. The staff I spoke to was super nice! I had a genuine Ratatouille moment when I tried the snurre. Usually a big fan of decadence and innovation but this was simple yet perfect. Soft, spicy, and sweet. Would 100% get again. And the croissant was also fantastic. Not something was would usually pick out but I'm so glad I did. The pistachio paste inside was rich and nutty. There were also raisins buried in the centre which was a very welcomed surprise. This review is a bit excessive but I'm writing this while still in a daze from the sugar.

Will C.

Yelp
The best bakery with the nicest staff, early morning is the best time to come but there is never a bad time

Jalena L.

Yelp
Juno the Bakery. They're a small little bakery but they have the MOST HEAVENLY PASTRIES. Their flagship item is the cardamom buns and my oh my they are HEAVENLY. Even as I write this post, I can smell it and honestly I would go back to Copenhagen just for them. The buns are SO light and fluffy and pull apart like a croissant . The bun has a perfect blend of spices that gives it kick but then is mellowed out by the subtle sweetness of the sugar. Honestly I've had a lot of pastries in my life (and I meant A LOT) but this has to top 5.

My standard for croissants will never be the same after Juno.. I am visiting over Christmas, and they only open for 3 days out of all the days I'm here. And I went twice. The first time I got some saffron rolls, cardamom rolls, and pistachio and rose croissants, and almond croissants. Every single one of them went farrr beyond my expectation, they were amazing. The rolls (buns) are so light and fluffy and buttery. It's rich in flavor, but light in texture. It's like brioche buns. And the croissants were buttery and crunchy. I wanted to try their classic croissants to but they sold out by the time I got there. (10:30 ish) So i went again, this time I got there at 8:10 soon after they opened. I got both classic and chocolate croissants. Best i have ever had. The outside is perfectly caramelized, and the layers on the inside are so defined. I got 3 of the classic ones.. and I finished all of them the next day and am already craving more.. There was a short line when I went both time because the inside is small, but it doesn't take long. Looking forward to coming back!!

Yelp
Copenhagen is full of amazing bakeries and if you're visiting town you will likely find yourself at Lagkagehuset, Meyers, Emmerys, or another local chain. I'm here to tell you that the best of the best takes a bit of research but is worth seeking out. Juno is one of those spots that is so good you wont be able to forget it. Located in Østerbro, Juno is tucked away on a residential street. It's a bit of trek for someone like me who lives across town but the trip is well worth it. The warm cardamom buns are unreal. Honestly, it's one of the best pastries I've ever eaten. Their sesame bread/buns are amazing as well and reminiscent of my favorite loaf from Tartine. Pro tip - the team from Juno has a new concept called "At the counter" that is very close to the original cafe. It should be very good as well and is a small food menu and coffee rather than purely baked goods. I'll update this review to compare once I've tried it!
