Hankook Taqueria is a beloved dive dishing up affordable Korean-Mexican fusion tacos and sesame fries, perfect for adventurous eaters craving something different.
"During lunchtime hours, you'll have to be quick on your feet to scoop up a table at Hankook Taqueria. But the effort is worth it since their delicious Mexican-Korean mash-up is one of the most inventive taco plays in the city. The crispy shrimp option that's topped with a hoisin tartar and Korean barbecue sauce sounds busy, but the flavors come together brilliantly. And while the buffalo chicken taco might only pop up on occasion, the semi-spicy meat wrapped in the warm tortilla is a hit at the table, your car, or wherever else you can find elbow room." - demarco williams, juli horsford, nina reeder
"Expect a lunchtime tussle with office workers and Georgia Tech students for a table at West Midtown’s Hankook Taqueria. But the fight is worth it since their delicious Mexican-Korean mash-up is one of the most inventive taco plays in the city. The crispy shrimp option that's topped with a hoisin tartar and Korean barbecue sauce sounds busy, but the flavors come together brilliantly. And while the buffalo chicken taco might only pop up on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the semi-spicy meat wrapped in the warm tortilla is a hit at the table, your car, or wherever else you can find elbow room." - juli horsford, demarco williams
"If it’s been a minute since dining at Hankook Taqueria on Collier, correct that immediately. Hankook is where Korean and Mexican flavors collide with an assortment of Korean barbecue tacos. The crispy calamari taco is dressed with jalapenos and a sweet chili sauce, with the beef bulgogi taco seeing meat marinated in pineapple soy sauce with spicy Korean barbecue sauce. Fans of kimchi and hot dogs should order the Firedog — a plump beef hot dog topped with spring onions, gochujang sauce, and plenty of shredded green cabbage kimchi. It’s a total flavor bomb. Always order a side of sesame fries at Hankook." - Beth McKibben
"Hankook Taqueria is a popular Mexican-Korean mash-up, tucked on a corner of Collier Road that weaves past warehouses and office parks. The modest lunchtime favorite is great for the area’s chino wearers and college students who are torn between burritos and bibimbap. The tacos, a mix of usual toppings (pulled pork, marinated beef) and daily specials (phenomenal buffalo chicken) sprinkled with lettuce, cilantro, and soy sesame vinaigrette on a warm flour tortilla, never miss. Same for quesadillas that hit the perfect spot on the crispy meter. But if you’re looking for something with a bit of Seoul, get an order of bibimbap stuffed with rice, bean sprouts, and red pepper sauce-dabbed proteins. There's so much food that the Styrofoam container barely closes. " - DeMarco Williams
"I will rarely turn down any dish with kimchi. There's just something about the punch of funkiness in this Korean fermented cabbage and vegetable mixture I find hard to resist, especially when it's bringing the right balance of spice and heat. I'm a fan of the kimchi found in many of the dishes at Hankook Taqueria in Underwood Hills, including on the Firedog — a plump beef hot dog topped with spring onions, gochujang, and a generous portion of shredded green cabbage kimchi. It's everything I want on a hot dog, and is a major flavor bomb. Make sure to order a side of sesame fries, too." - Beth McKibben
