Nestled in a Tribeca office lobby, Frenchette Bakery serves up delectable French pastries and baguettes, making it a cozy go-to for carb lovers.
"This ambitious bakery — an offshoot of the restaurant Frenchette — curiously occupies one side of a commercial building lobby. The breads and pastries are top-notch, including the expected croissants in many permutations, sourdough loaves, caneles, gougeres, chocolate chip cookies, on and on. Oddities abound, including a puff pastry in which an egg and mortadella are implanted. Much of it is now available at the Whitney Museum location." - Robert Sietsema
"Unsurprisingly, the bakery from one of the best French restaurants in New York makes perfect croissants. Their plain one has a little bit of everything: it tastes like butter, has a nice chew, and also just enough flake that someone will know you recently ate a croissant. They’re not overwhelmingly large, so consider ordering the pistachio one too. Frenchette Bakery has a second location at The Whitney with a whole daytime menu as well." - willa moore, bryan kim, sonal shah, will hartman
"Tucked inside an office building, Arcade Bakery is one of Tribeca's greatest hidden gems. Offering fresh bread, tasty croissants, and their famous “Laminated Baguette”, this French bakery is a one-stop-shop for satisfying your carb cravings." - The Charles
"Frenchette Bakery is known for its einkorn country loaf and fougasses crafted with olives and sweet red peppers." - Juliet Izon
"The new restaurant at the Whitney Museum of American Art is here: Frenchette Bakery opened in the museum’s lobby this week, taking over the space that was home to Danny Meyer restaurant, Untitled, for almost a decade. Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson, who own the Manhattan restaurants, Frenchette and Le Rock, are running the bakery. They opened the first location in Tribeca in 2020. It’s known for its croissants, sandwiches, and breads." - Luke Fortney
