"It all started on a blue bike and a box with falafel when the two fast food restaurateurs Nidal Kersh and Jenny Hedstrom felt that Stockholm needed more and better street food. The falafel bike became so popular that it developed into Stockholm's first falafelbar. The falafel is always served freshly fried in pita bread with traditional filling and lovely dips. Most of the dishes are vegan and everything is vegetarian. All sauces and several dishes are additionally gluten- and lactose-free. If you feel like trying something else then falafel they also serve a dish named Fool that is an Arab beandish with parsley, lemon and egg. This little nook is definitely worth a visit." - BVD

"While in Södermalm to visit the opera venue Folkoperan or any of the innumerable bars, head to Falafelbaren for what is probably the crunchiest and juiciest a la minute falafel in the capital, served with housemade skhug (chile sauce) and amba (pickled mango with fenugreek). Most dishes on the menu are vegan and all of them are vegetarian, including the börek and fool. [$]" - Per Styregård

Loved this place. Very cheap, the falafel was good, and the borek was actually surprisingly good (speaking as a Mediterranean person), as were the sweet potato fries!

Best Falafel I’ve had since being in Beirut. Everything we had was clean, healthy & delicious. And of course, free 🇵🇸

Google
The best falafel pita bread sandwich I had in Stockholm. They have the best falafels and sides. The food also taste authentic and Mediterianean with perfect combination of falafels, pita bread, hummus, tahini and salads. Small place but the staff are very friendly.

Such a nice little restaurant. Entered with two colleagues from Palestine visiting Stockholm and they were absolutely delighted to see the decoration - lots of Palestinian flags. Quick and very nice service and the börek salads were excellent.. Fresh!

This place make up for the price tag with good food and good service. We ordered the original falafel roll as usual and this place never fail to deliver a tasty falafel. Good vegan choices as well, and there are two choices of extra sauce you can add. The sweet potato fries were crunchy and well made.

Yelp
i know the feeling is that there aren't any good falafel in stockholm, but i have to think this place is the exception. really good falafel pita here and love the sauces they have on the table. friendly service.

Yelp
I know everyone's first thought is "great, another falafel bar". Well this is just another falafel bar but among the best. The flavor combination was on point. Absolutely delicious. If you think you already have a favorite then I urge you to try this place and see if you don't change your mind.

Yelp
We were passing by and I couldn't resist. We were walking towards dinner and I stopped by to try their falafel. It was freshly fried, crispy, not dry and extremely flavorful. I only came here to try it and honestly did not even check yelp. My mind was blown. Great falafels.

Yelp
The falafel here is fresh and has lots of flavor. It's a bit more pricey than the falafel you can find in other places in Stockholm, but you can get away with a meal for 85kr which will be completely filling. The restaurant has clearly been going for a specific concept with the menu, interior and all. It feels more trendy than authentic. As others have mentioned, it is a pretty small place but the meals are easy to have as takeaway. I think it's great that they make their falafel completely gluten free which can be surprisingly difficult to find otherwise.

Yelp
Falafelbaren is an immensely popular place that serves crispy and light falafel, börek as well as a version of the Egyptian bean pot foul. The food shows that there is a lot of thought and work behind a relatively simple concept. This place is a must if you're craving for some great vegetarian food. Besides the meal you get free homemade sauces that are great. Since the place is quite small, it could at times be insanely packed - but fortunately they offer takeaway. One tip is to order the fresh mint lemonade along with your food - very good!

Yelp
Hands down the best falafel sandwich in Stockholm. I'll even go out on a limb and say this is the best falafel I've ever had out of the Middle East. This is coming from a Mamoun's fanboy. Don't miss their sweet potato fries and Palestinian dates. Do yourself a favor and visit falafelbaren when in stockholm

Yelp
Only L'as du Falafel (in Paris) beats Falafelbaren's take on this lovely vegetarian chickpea ball. They are really good at it here. Choose between a large variety of different servings including pita, salad etc. No matter what, you will found yourself indulging in delicious authentic stuff. The prices are very friendly compared to otherwise expensive Stockholm.

Yelp
This lunch spot gets the job done, fresh soft falafel is doled out super fast for the lunch rush in Söder. My falafelrulle had nice ratios of pickle, hummus, cabbage and chunky salad and was so much easier to wolf down than pittas - which collapse in about 20 seconds for me. The falafel themselves were really decent, as good as some malmö joints, and the little extras like chilli/parsley sauce make up for the hipster stockholm pricing. Also recommended is the aubergine dip, despite being 10kr a pop and not -really- a 'dip' per say, it was actually really packed with flavour and made my meal feel a bit more complete. Lemonade was good but they need to get in on blending the mint in to the mix like flfl levantine!

Danaé M.

Yelp
Lovely food if you're hungry (very hungry) and down for vegetables (a lot of vegetables) in a great neighborhood of Stockholm :) You don't have much places inside though.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Seriously the coolest little falafel joint out there! I'm jealous of all Stockholm citizens who can casually stop by for a delicious falafel at Falafelbaren whenever they want cause I can't (putting on a really sad face now). The staff is friendly and helpful, they play good music and have the coolest artwork on the walls. The vibe is just right and the food is A+. And hey, what's up with the sauces? especially the green one. What's that all about? I couldn't stop eating it and drenched everything with the green stuff. If it was possible I'd carry a bottle of that in my bag wherever I'd go. So YES Falafelbaren, you got my heart.

Yasaman S.

Yelp
I got into this place while looking for a fast dinner before opera. I should confess that their food is a 4stars. Fresh, soft, hot and fast served falafels, I really liked them. No specific taste or twist to humus or other sides, a very ok taste. Why 3stars? The place itself! It was a rainy evening when I was there, no place to put the dripping dropping umbrella and no space to hang the winter jacket. It is a small place but while waiting for my food, I found few ideas to at least solve the jacket dilemma. So, it is possible. Other thing about this place is that you should be ready to smell like hot oil when walking out! You, your hair, all ur cloths and jacket will smell like MacDonaldsx10!!! Very poor ventilation. As much as I liked the food, I will avoid sitting in there. I think this place will work much better for me as a take away.

Yelp
My husband and I really loved this restaurant! It's a very small and unassuming space so don't let that deter you from trying their delicious food. I ordered a salad bowl which was huge! It included hummus, falafel, various salads, and halloumi of course! Make sure you get the halloumi! My husband ordered the falafel and hummus wrap. He raved about it and he is not vegan by any means. We also shared an order of sweet potato fries. All of it was delicious and the people working there were all very nice and helpful!

Reema P.

Yelp
Really good!! I got the original falafel pita and it was delicious. The falafel itself was perfectly warm and crispy, and tasted authentic. The toppings in the pita worked really well and tasted fresh, and the spicy green cilantro sauce found at the table was such a great addition. Recommend giving it a try if you haven't! (One star off for small things- wish it had more room and wish it was a bit warmer inside!)

Frida M.

Yelp
We wanted to eat at the cheese bar next door, but it was full so we had a falafel instead. We both agreed that this is the best falafel we've had so far in Stockholm! Freshly cooked and accompanied with tasty vege. Will go again!

Yelp
Delicious food, awesome staff and great decor. What else do you need? This food and this place always puts a smile on my face.

Yelp
I actually found this place because of the intoxicating smell, which was enough to make me circle back after a day touring Södermalm. And it has since become my favorite spot to eat in all of Sthlm. Why? Because the falafel is crispy, light, and made fresh everyday. The concept is simple and the focus is on the food. A seriously hip joint, with a intimate but inviting environment and the prices to match. And if you find yourself here during the lunch rush or any busy time, trust me when I say "It is worth the wait." I've turned all of my friends on to this place. My go-to is the falafelrulle with halloumi and the mint lemonade. When debating between the rulle and the pita, choose the rulle, its bigger and easier to eat. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

José A.

Yelp
Good quality fast food, cozy environment and cheap. Their fries are really good so is the falafel. Great value for the money

Yelp
Yummy lunch spot to grab a falafel wrap. The falafel is nice and crispy, but beware even the small size is big. Loads of veggies and the saucy is yummy too. Reasonable price, i'd definitely come back for a quick bite.
