"The next big name in Los Angeles rooftop dining will be Margot, a sunny all-day stunner set to open atop the Culver City Platform development in October. Margot is the newly-announced official name for owner Rohan Talwar’s long-awaited rooftop project above Hayden at the east end of the complex. The project has been under discussion for quite some time, and was first publicly announced over a year ago. All of the attention to detail being paid to the place should mean a rather stunning reveal once the restaurant is up and running this fall, with lots of art, floral touches, marble tabletops, and — incredibly — “a signature scent from Le Labo and Diptyque,” according to reps. Noted designers Thomas Schoos and Lisa Gill laid out the space, with Shawmut doing the construction work. As for the food, Norah’s team remains intact including chef Michael Williams, general manager John Snowden, and bar director David Kupchinsky. There will be a full bar, lots of lounge seating available, and an evening menu that leans towards seafood with a raw bar and lots of Spanish and Italian flavor profiles. There will also be pastas, large-format meats, and plenty of vegetables, plus takeaway focaccia sandwiches available during the day. When all is said and done, Margot should have room for some 70 seats inside, plus 80 or so on the outdoor dining deck. There are plans for future events involving DJs, live music, and movies down the line, with the bar available until 1 a.m. nightly. There’s no official opening timeline just yet, but look for something in October." - Farley Elliott
