"Since 1994, Zeitgeist has played a significant role in the Nashville art scene. The gallery has served as a cultivation ground for new artists and remains a safe place for established artists to experiment and grow. In 2013, Zeitgeist moved from their location in Hillsboro Village to Wedgewood-Houston, a neighborhood that has served as a home to the creative studio community for a very long time. A beautifully simple interior allows for visitors to take in art with no distraction. The gallery also participates in the Arts & Music at Wedgewood/Houston: an art walk that takes place in the neighborhood on the first Saturday of every month." - Platoon

The Zeitgeist, from my understanding, appeared to be an art gallery and office hybrid where visitors can browse through the current events of art while the employees were working at their desks in the non-visitor areas. Though my partner and I weren't greeted by any staff upon entering the gallery, there were enough info boards and directions displayed as to where we go. There's a parking lot right beside the building, where the 1st hour is free. The area of the gallery was no bigger than a highschool gym, but still carried many artworks that alternate throughout the season and events that are changing. I really enjoyed the pull-out displays that were lined just behind the main desk; it's a creative way to condense all the art frames into one place, with the convenience of pulling one or multiple out to look at. They all came with price tags attached, too, so this place also appears to be a business. The time of us browsing through here lasted no more than 30 mins. There is also a donut shop just to the right. The overall cleanliness and organization of the place is also commendable, and being less crowded when we visited. Anybody who is interested in art galleries needs to stop by here, at least, to take a look at what the Zeitgeist has to show! It's one of the best art galleries around, with free admission too!

This is a dual business with a gallery space featuring an artist as the primary displayed show. It’s nice for the artist, I’m sure, to be featured but it would have been nice to see more art on display. I was able to pull out display racks from previously featured art but I had to dig for it. Be sure to put a parking slip in your car window before going in. I didn’t and got a $55 parking fine for the “free parking up to an hour” even though I was only parked for 40 minutes.

We went to Zeitgeist Gallery to see Karen Seapker's art. It was my first visit, though I plan to go again. The gallery is pleasantly understated and the paintings well placed. There are also easily moved racks with additional art to view. Parking is adjacent. The only drawback for me was the lack of seating so I could study Ms. Seapker's art in comfort (concrete floor).

Excellent gallery. They fill the contemporary and avante garde void that's present in the Nashville art scene

Long-standing contemporary art gallery + event space + architecture studio. Irreplaceable, vital Nashville institution. And their new space on Hagan St is massive and beautiful - and just down the hill from the former Hillsboro Village location. Premier Nashville cultural institution.

This is a nice, large gallery with plenty of space for all types of artwork. Their current show is great and they have really nice storage for commissioned pieces.

Unpretentious. Intersting exhibit. Lain was helpful, knowledgable about the artist community and made our day with the local gallery map. Spacebo drug!

Yelp
We visited the Zeitgeist Art Gallery during the Wedgewood-Houston Art Crawl this past weekend. While what they were showing on that particular night wasn't really my cup of tea, it was a beautiful gallery and definitely worth a visit at the next W-H Art Crawl or if you just want to explore some of Nashville's art galleries. I'm keeping it on my list to check out their exhibitions at the next W-H Art Crawl for sure!

Yelp
Zeigeist Art Gallery is a gallery space and architectural design studio on the corner of 21st avenue and Acklen Ave in Hillsboro Village. It's a good looking space with built out walls to maximize the display space. The walls angle in to the center of the gallery like a feather with art on each side. The space is simple with white walls and small spotlights. They usually have a sculpture or two on display as well. I don't know a lot about the architectural design studio but, if their art display is any indication, I am sure it is a forward thinking, modern design aesthetic.

Yelp
A great contemporary art gallery on Hagan Street. It has a lot of great sculptural and 2d works for interested buyers. The gallery manager, Lain is very personable and kind to speak about the works, area, and Nashville art community. Great for collectors, interior designers, or just those looking for original art. Canvas, photography, abstract, illustration

Yelp
Zeitgeist is a neat little gallery that typically seems to show some pretty impressive pieces. I've only checked it out a couple of times, but the space is moderately sized and accommodates small art shows pretty well. Zeitgeist often displays very modern pieces in their large front windows, which actually led to a bizarre misunderstanding once. There was a piece in the front of the gallery that resembled a human body. Apparently, someone who wasn't aware that it was art called the authorities due to some concern that it was a corpse. Zeitgeist seemed to handle it well, and soon after they put up a sign that read something along the lines of "This is an art gallery. What you see is art; there are no bodies stashed here." Misunderstandings aside, Zeitgeist seems a pretty cool spot for small art shows. The space is large enough to display a lot of portraits and sculptures. As Sharon mentioned, it's also an architectural design studio, but I'm not familiar with their architectural work.

Yelp
Beautiful crisp gallery with a feeling of Soho, very exciting. I saw the amazing new show by Nashville's own Vadis Turner, and this space truly illuminated her magnificent work. Vadis is also recognized in the recent Schiffer International book about 50 Contemporary Women Artists, lucky Zeitgeist to have her in their group. Stop and have a croissant and coffee at Dozen Bakery, before viewing the latest exciting artists that have been chosen to exhibit. Lain York is a delightful and knowledgeable director that happily engages with his visitors, encouraging future visits.
