Wurstküche is a lively beer hall in the Arts District, renowned for its adventurous sausages—from rattlesnake to rabbit—paired with Belgian fries and a stellar beer selection.
"No matter how rowdy this Arts District sausage emporium can get on the weekends (and also at its Venice location), no one can deny this place works great for a big group party. Normally, you’d have to wait in line and order at the counter, but for groups big enough (12+), you’re able to snag a reservation and get a sectioned-off area of the restaurant. Sausage, beer, and hip-hop. Your coworkers will thank you. Capacity: Groups of 12+ in a semi-private space." - brant cox, nikko duren
"Despite its nightlife allure, there's a disturbing scarcity of solid late-night eats in the Arts District. Luckily, Wurstkuche makes up for it with its mild to wild sausages and a space large enough for the whole crew to find a seat. The lines can get long, and you're not entirely sure why there's a guy in the corner spinning David Guetta, but you're into it. And you're even more into those Belgian fries. Open until midnight on the weekends." - brant cox, arden shore, nikko duren, sylvio martins, garrett snyder
"You might say Wurstküche and its exotic sausage and German beer selection might have ushered in the Art District's renaissance. With nothing really else on Traction Ave, it made a destination east of the Historic Core worth coming to. Instead of waiting in the (sometimes heinously long) line out front, slip in the side door and order a beer at the bar. If you're having a nightcap, why not try their sort-of-secret ice cream sandwich: Toasted Apple Pie ice cream between two oatmeal raisin cookies." - verynice
"Only a few (OK, somewhere around eight) years ago, Wurstkuche was one of the first places USC students dared to venture outside the bounds of campus. Fast forward, and there may be lots of newer, shinier spots all over DTLA - but Wurstkuche remains an excellent place to eat well on the cheap. Your only options here are sausage and beer, but this is some good sausage and beer." - katherine lewin
"Wurstküche is a group dinner slam dunk. You order and pay separately (no awkward bill splitting at the end always scores points), there are big communal tables you can easily take over, and there’s lots and lots of beer. Definitely don’t bring your vegan friends with you, but definitely do order the fries. Sausages run the gamut from solidly traditional bratwurst to rattlesnake, and all of them are pretty great." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, katherine lewin
