"This pressed sandwich says fall: Taleggio cheese, poached figs, and prosciutto di Parma, dressed with arugula-almond pesto on slices of crusty sourdough. Annealed in the warm embrace of the sandwich press, the cheese melts and oozes, the prosciutto is a strong and salty presence, and the fig provides sweetness, $15.25." - Robert Sietsema

I’ve come here quite a few times lunch but likely won’t return. The amount of meat given recently in the sandwiches is ridiculous. My $15.25 Fuso had single piece of prosciutto that barely covered 3/4 of the bread and didn’t even completely fold on itself once. The slice was so thin I likely could have seen through it. It’s a shame too since the ingredients and recipes are unique.

Google
The staff is delightful but for $20 I expect a sandwich (Joe Vigs) that has meat throughout the bread. Fully 1/3 of the sandwich was just shredded lettuce and sauce. Management: with an average rating of only 4, you know you need to do something different. Maybe it’s as simple as giving your customers more fillings. UPDATE 2/20/24: the team at Via Porta reached out to rectify my experience and it sounds like they’ve started beefing up their sandwiches. Pun intended :) 2 stars changed to 5 for the awesome effort. UPDATE 3/5/24: I just had another Joe Viggs thanks to the gift certificate they provided and it was truly excellent. Great value for the price, super high quality. Clearly the Via Porta team have made an effort to up their game. Nice work, and thank you again for making my experience right!

Sandwiches are expensive and are very mid. They don’t put much on them so it is $20 for some bread. Staff is a bit pretentious too for a neighborhood sandwich shop. Go next door to Hudson & Charles and get their sandwiches - way better.

When we chose to go here we thought we were were up for well crafted, good quality ingredient sandwiches. It was a great surprise when we tasted one of the sandwiches we ordered and it was just not good. It was way too salty, the mix of meats and cheese was just not right and the bread was way too thick. It just seemed like meat and cheese were thrown into a sandwich without giving it much thought. The other sandwich was ok, still to salty but a bit better.. I really like L’Artusi and B’artusi so I was expecting more of this place.

Best tuna sandwich I have ever had. So unique, flavorful, and beautiful.

Only had the cinnamon roll but it was really tasty! Would definitely stop in again for another cinnamon roll or other pastry.

Great pumpkin and chocolate chip muffin and the espresso was excellent. The service here is great as well.

Via Porta is our go to anytime we need a delicious but quick breakfast/lunch. My go to is always the avocado toast, which is truly the best I’ve ever had. The bread has a crunch without being impossible to cut through and still soft inside. They top it with arugula, sliced garlic, pickled onions, roasted red peppers and a few chile peppers. To die for. My husband always gets a different sandwich and has loved all of them, the chicken saltimbocca being his favorite. We ended up grabbing their olive oil loaf and a cheddar chive biscuit last time we were there and wow. I wish I could have that olive oil loaf every day. It was absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Loved this sandwich spot for a quick bite! We only got one item, but it was delicious and the service was quick and loved the counter service. It was a bit cold so they didn't have tables outside, but normally they do for seating small amount of seating on the inside.

Yelp
Stopped by to try the hot chocolate and a pastry, wound up also ordering a sandwich. I really liked the hot chocolate. It's like they weren't trying to do too much with it. There's a marshmallow on top which was very sweet and good! It was $5 for a small and it was a perfect size. We had the olive oil cake. Super moist! Watching them make the sandwiches led me to ordering the Joe Vig ($15). Excellent sandwich! It has several different types of cheese with I loved; there wasn't just one layer/slice of cheese. There is no place to eat inside. They do have tables outside though.

Yelp
My introduction to olive oil cake connoisseurship was this November (I must say, this exploration has been well overdue for the avid foodie I am). The first slice I had was at Shuka, followed by L'Artusi -- both exceptional, which I can now confidently say, as my roster of olive oil cakes has grown. The olive oil loaf at Via Porta is the same as the olive oil cake (dessert menu option) at L'Artusi, bringing accessibility to such a scrumptious desert. The flavor of the olive oil comes through with such pungency that you could literally taste for the notes of the specific olive oil they are using. The loaf is moist and flavorful, but not dense from being oversaturated in olive oil; *this is key. Even better, there is a subtle crunch to the exterior, so alluring that it leaves you wanting more of that crunch, like when there's only one little crouton served atop a delicious bowl of soup and you think, I would just die for a few more!!!

Yelp
Super confusing Resturant. Is it 1...or 4? Also...your menus online are incorrect. I'd like to order the burger...where is it on your menu? Is it via porta? Or L'Artusi? B'Artusi?

Yelp
The L'artusi team just opened their second new spot of the year, a few doors down from B'artusi, the other new one. This one is a grab and go spot, with just standing room and a few tables set up outside. They have pastries, salads and sandwiches, plus stuff to cook at home. I tried the Cacio e Pepe Scone ($6), which was great, as was the Huckleberry Pear Poptart ($5), but the real showstopper was the Chicken Saltimbocca Sandwich ($14.75). This is a super satisfying sandwich with crispy chicken, spicy capicola, arrabbiata sauce, provolone and mozz. If this is any indication, the rest of the sandwiches will be excellent too and I'm looking forward to returning to try more of them.

Yelp
Always great. Stop by when I'm in nyc to grab the mushroom ragout Togo and the chicken saltimbocca sandwich. Sandwich is killer

Yelp
Solid outpost featuring L'Artusi items. Via Porta is a good grab and go option if you want something less formal but still capturing the flavors of the team. Here's what you should know: 1. Yes, the sandwich prices can feel steep but I usually get about 3/4 of the way through before I start feeling full. 2. They have fridge where you can buy the soups and sauces for other meals that you might be making. 3. Coffee and pastries are also excellent. 4. Standing room only with one table outside

Yelp
Because I'm such a fan of the L'Artusi team I was super excited to try Via Porta. It's a tiny little spot right next door to B'Artusi with some outdoor seating. They sell pastries, sandwiches, salads, and even have jarred versions of the sauces from L'Artusi. From the start I could tell things were a little chaotic. There was a lot of staff moving nonstop behind the counter and a lot of customers coming in and out. We ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca sandwich, the mattanza tuna sandwich, the ribollita soup, pumpkin chocolate chip loaf, and the olive oil loaf. Somehow we ended up with a sunchoke Caesar salad and they accidentally gave us two chicken sandwiches instead of a tuna. They were quick to give us the right sandwich once we pointed it out. The two winners were the chicken sandwich and the olive oil loaf. Everything else was just ok. I'm excited to come back and try more of the sandwiches and other new items coming soon as they get more into the swing of things.

Yelp
Charming little provisions shop with coffee, sandwiches, and fresh baked goods to-go. Owned by L'Artusi team. They even sell L'Artusi sauces and meal kits. I tried the Huckleberry Pear Poptart and was wholly impressed. I didn't try any of the sandwiches, but they looked legit. I wish that the sandwich menu was larger and that it included more vegetarian options.

Yelp
That uovo sandwich is a big no. I was excited to try it based off the reviews but the eggs had that awful weird overcooked taste which completely overpowered the entire sandwich. Couldn't finish it

John L.

Yelp
I was excited because L'artusi is one of my favorite restaurants. Ordered the chicken saltimbocca sandwich. Flavors were fine, but the chicken was dry and not crispy as advertised. Not worth the high price.

Rick C.

Yelp
Wanted to love it. Went out of my way to get there. Big fan of Italian sandwiches and thought this one would be great. Quite disappointing. Bread to filling ratio was terrible (way too much bread). If the bread was good, I may have less of an issue but it tasted like day-old bread, which made it all the worse. Had to combine the filling of both sides onto one side (creating 1/2 a sandwich to make it at least palatable. The L'artusi guys can do better.

Nate F.

Yelp
amazing baked goods, and that chicken parm sandwich is absolutely unreal. their frittata is slept on and the mushroom sandwich is the best thing on the menu. they also have unbelievable takes on Poptarts

Reggie D.

Yelp
Amazingly decadent and delicious cinnamon rolls! The staff are super friendly also and seem to get along well with one another.

Alex W.

Yelp
Love their food, but waiting for 2 hours for delivery and still missing.... They need to get their service in order and retrain their team/reevaluate delivery partner.
