Google
Good place for Tacos. We didn’t realise this place is meat-free. Apart from that, the meals were great and flavorsome. The let down was the wine which was pretty acidic for my liking.

The staff was very careful with our peanut allergy. Food came out fast, taquito, tofu asada taco, loaded fries. All tasting quite similar. Very filling. Oh their HORCHATA was delish

The service and atmosphere of this restaurant is great! Lovely tunes, nice decor and the staff were lovely.. The food was a bit miss? Portion sizes are quite small given the price and everything felt a little bland, I ended up drowning most of the items in hot sauce to add some flavour. Not the best but not the worst.

If there is one thing that we miss in Melbourne after living & raising family in SoCal is authentic Mexican food & flavors with few vegetarian options on the menu. We used to have weekly Mexican dinners at amazing random restaurants in San Diego. So far this taco place is the closest to decent Mexican flavors we found in Mel. The black bean variety of taco, quesadilla & burritos were great. Tofu kind were not that great. Tofu pieces were a bit dry. They served a tiny lime piece for 2 tacos and none for quesadilla. When asked for extra, I got one more tiny piece, lime is one of the key ingredient for Mexican food. Service was ok for a quick meal, feels more like a take away place. There was so much loud music, it was hard to have a conversation. Overall, satisfying Mexican flavors & most important for us vegetarian food. We will go back, probably regularly.

Google
Fries were delicious but the tacos were honestly lack lustre and service took forever. Not the best in the area but not bad at all. Considering it’s a vegetarian joint with vegan options and had a very convenient location with great decor, I can see why people would visit often. (Bit pricey for what it is to be very honest)

We order a lot of food to try the Mexican food and it was so good. Definitely come back next time. People there are so kind as well. Love it !

Google
Trippy Taco is my absolute favourite Mexican restaurant! The burritos are aways fresh and the portions are always generous. I never leave Trippy Taco hungry! They also have a huge selection of tasty hot sauces and the staff are always super friendly. I cannot recommend Trippy Taco enough!! Love this place.

Elley T.

Yelp
Trippy Taco never disappoints. Consistently delicious and it's vegetarian with the options also being available vegan!

Yelp
Food just took too long. But was good. Great seasoning on the fries.

Yelp
Having been introduced to the wonders of Mexican food by a friend of mine, when I saw this place as I was wandering down Gertrude Street I decided that I would go straight inside and order a meal. Well, the first thing that I discovered is that this is a strictly vegeterian restaurant, so if you want meat in your Burrittos then you may need to make your way to the local Taco Bills. Anyway, having been to a few of the chain Mexican Restaurants that are appearing around the place, I was really keen on checking out something that was a part of a franchise. Well, this place turned up, and I have to say that it was pretty good. The Burrito, despite being vegetarian, was really nice. They also have beer available. However you should be aware that this place does get very, very crowded, and it isn't the largest of places around, so you may want the takeaway option.

Anthony R.

Yelp
Happy Nee Year fellow Yelpers! I must say at the onset, I am a pure carnivore and when I walked into this fine establishment, I was quite pessimistic if my Mexican fix could be quenched. Everyone, I was definitely swayed immediately to taste the best Mexican street food I have had in Melbourne! I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with guacamole and sour cream. The taste was fabulous and the flavours of home in Southern California slapped me right across the face and I embraced it with open arms! My partner ordered the nachos and I must say - WOW! Amazing taste and nice spice. I will definitely be returning for more and next time, I will try their all day breakfast and taqitos! They are licensed so a beer is available to wash it down! Make a run to trippy soon!

Rachel R.

Yelp
Coming form California, I'm spoiled by access to great Mexican food. While I went in with what I hoped was realistic expectations, this just didn't cut it. The food was bland, expensive, and strange. Anyone who thinks this is "authentic" has never been to Mexico... We ordered a side of chips, salsa and guac. You pay $4.50 for chips, and then another $3.50 and $4.50 for the tiniest cups of bland dips. How did they managed to get the salsa so flavorless?! The main ingredients should be tomato, onion and jalapeño! And the guac had no flavor at all. The avocado on the tacos was also flavorless - they need a different source. (We had incredibly tasty guac with chunky corn chips at Vegi Bar.. go there instead.) Most of the flavor in the tacos came from the goat cheese placed on top. I love goat cheese, but I don't want this earthy cheese on my tacos. Cojita, a mild cow's cheese, is the traditional ingredient. The black bean tacos had raisins in them - why?! The tofu asada was also surprisingly lacking in flavour. In addition to these disappointing fillings, the tacos also had lettuce, more of the lame salsa, a slice of flavorless avocado and then the shaved goats cheese. As much as I appreciated the generous amount of fillings, it wasn't possible to eat the taco with one tortilla. It just made a huge mess. I assume the margaritas were made with cheap sour mix not fresh lime juice based on how they tasted. There's so much great (vegetarian) food in Melbourne for less money - don't bother with this place.

Yelp
The only real reason I enjoy going to the doctor is because he's right around the corner from Trippy Taco. So I always get Trippy Taco after an appointment. Have a bad sinus infection? Trippy Taco. Nasty cough? Trippy Taco. Messed up the knee while running? Trippy Taco. Birth control pills need refilling? Trippy Taco. This is the cadence of my life. In all seriousness, Trippy Taco has tasty food in a cute location with a good laid-back vibe. It's all Tex-Mex style (which I say somewhat tongue-in-cheek because I'm actually from Texas and pretty much nothing in Australia comes close to authentic Tex-Mex, which is understandable I guess). It's also 100% vegetarian, but this doesn't stop the meat-eaters from coming in droves because the flavours are nice, the food is fresh, and the atmosphere is casual, colourful and quirky. Vegans have a wide variety of options to choose from: burritos, quesadillas, tacos, spiced corn with vegan chipotle mayo, tamales, nachos, and taquitos. They even have vegan desserts -- vegan churros, soy ice cream + chocolate + banana or orange, etc. They also do vegan breakfasts, subbing scrambled tofu and soy cheese for the eggs and dairy cheese in their regular vegetarian menu. They use Daiya as their non-dairy vegan cheese. They used to use Cheezly and I believe they may still use Cheezly in some of their dishes. So if you hate Daiya with a fiery passion, you might want to ask them to hold the cheese. Personally, I prefer Daiya over Cheezly so I don't mind it. Even my non-vegan friends don't seem to mind Daiya. Now for the bad news. The first is that I find Trippy Taco a tad overpriced for what it is. There's a vegan surcharge of $0.50-2.00 for nearly everything -- which is kinda understandable, given that Daiya and Cheezly (and other vegan substitutes for things like mayo) are imported into Australia and therefore expensive. I like the vegan Mixed Burrito, which comes out to $13 -- but let's be honest, even though it's tasty, in my opinion it doesn't taste nearly as good as a vegan Zambrero burrito which is about the same size but is only $10.90. The other thing I don't like about Trippy Taco's burritos is they are literally drowning in sauce. It makes for an incredibly messy meal and huge pools of sauce sink down to the bottom of the burrito. So it may very well be possible to bite into the bottom of the burrito and squirt your dining partner in the face with vegan tofu asada juice. Consider yourself warned.

Yelp
We were in Melbourne for about 3 days, and though there were plenty of vegetarian places to eat at, we came here. Twice. TACOS. BURRITOS. QUESADILLA . I was in absolute heaven. Best of all, rather than saying "Oh, it's vegan without the cheese and sour cream", they use vegan cheese and sour cream upon request! What a novel concept! Staff weren't entirely friendly or helpful (and there was a loud radio playing, so the server could barely hear our order), but the food turned up pretty quickly and was absolutely delicious. Regardless of where we stay next time we're in Melbourne, we will be making the journey over to Trippy Taco again. And again.

Emma P.

Yelp
Settled into their new home on Gertrude Street and this end of town just got a whole lotta more funky! Grab a table, grab your menu and if you can possibly choose between all of the amazing dishes on the list. You order at the counter and within moments amazing food will float in front of you and you can begin a trip into the vegetarian cantina of joy!! We order lots and lots for us all to share on our first trip to trippy! Quesidilla, large flour totilla with melted cheese and salsa, described as a bit like a big cheese toasty it is comfort food-tastic! Heaps of melted cheese and black beans hmmmmm!! Original Trippy Tacos are fresh, gorgeous corn tortillas with cheese, black beans, salad, salsa, avocado and a squeeze of lime! Yum!! It's a generous serve of super tasty, fabulous taco...... read more at my blog

Yelp
This place is amazing. Hands down best tofu burrito I've ever had. Seasoning tastes like a chicken burrito but without the meat-guilt.

Andy T.

Yelp
Vegetarian and vegan's delight, no meat on the menu, but the food is still tasty. I would recommend the nachos and buritos, both good value and tasty. They have a great range of hot sauces to select from too.

David S.

Yelp
I went to the new Trippy Taco on Gertrude Street the other night (just round the corner from its previous location). It was pretty rammed and the food took a while to come. They also didn't have their liquor license just yet so we had to settle for sugary soft drinks. Despite these little nitpicks, the food once it arrived was delicious and the black beans were full of flavour. I'm a huge carnivore and don't usually go for vegetarian restaurants. However, Trippy Taco is filling despite the lack of meat and you don't feel like you are missing out on anything. For the most part in Melbourne, I find that Mexican restaurants are nothing special and rather expensive. Trippy Taco breaks this trend by being inexpensive and quite authentic (being from the UK, I have no idea If I'm honest). This place is a hit and will definitely become a regular haunt.

Alexander R.

Yelp
AMAZING! Trippy Taco is a fantastic place to go for when you want a cool Mexican feast. With so many options it's hard to choose and there is a massive appeal to the fact that it has vegetarian and vegan options as well. They cook and make everything on site and it's obvious, as it tastes wildly amazing. It's cool and intimate but they are moving positions to Gertrude St where they'll be able to handle its ever-growing popularity. I wouldn't go past Trippy Taco's as one of the better places to go out for Mexican. I love the little enchiladas and soft shelled burrito's we had! YUM!!!

Lants D.

Yelp
IF YOU NEED MEAT IN YOUR TACO, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A BAD TIME... Well not really. It's actually all pretty good. But if you're going to be a jerk about the meat, don't bother going there - there is no meat. I do like: Taquitos - 3 crispy corn things rolled up like cigars, filled with black beans and cheese etc. Special Quesadilla - a tortilla filled with goat cheese, black beans, salsa and avocado. I do not like: Sweet Corn Tamale - like a sponge cake made of creamed corn. I was disappointed with the side salads served alongside everything. I mean this place is built on salad, surely it could be a little more inspired than just a few bits of lettuce and whatnot.

Simon J.

Yelp
I have been meaning to get to this place for a while, and I am sure glad I did. The atmosphere in here is great, although when it gets a little busy, it will be a long wait for a table. We were lucky tonight, only waiting about 3 mins before one came up. There is no waiting for wait staff, as you order at the counter, and the options, although vegetarian are plentiful. I am a carnivore, and thus a fully vegetarian menu to me is a little unknown territory. I ordered the Fries (as a carnivore would) and also the Special Quesadilla. The first to arrive where the fries, covered in house spice, and paired with the house hot sauce, they were delicious. Next to arrive was my main course. I had added extra Jalapeno's as I do enjoy a bit of spice, and I must say this dish did not disappoint. If it is a mouthful of various flavours you are looking for then this is not for you, however it was true to its name. Very cheesy, so much so, it lost the guac flavour, and if you do like a little spice, I would suggest to add the Jalapeno's as this added some freshness to it. It was a little heavy, but reading the menu and looking at the result, it is exactly as described. Will I be heading back there, sure thing, delicious, healthy (well semi) and a great atmosphere.

Kate S.

Yelp
Love TT for a quick and healthy burrito fix. Love the black bean and tofu burrito... choc full of fresh salad and hot gooey goodness... They're massive though, big enough to share if you're not overly hungry. You'll need about 10 napkins to blot up all the juicy goodness that will be more than likely dripping down your chin... but it's well worth it. Pair it with a beer and some chilli fries! x

Terrence L.

Yelp
There are only two things you need to know. 1. Everything here is vegetarian 2. Order the Tofu Asada Burrito Now get in line, it won't be a missed steak.

Emma C.

Yelp
Oh my, I've just browsed through some other's reviews and was shocked to discover there were some non-converts out there! I'm always extremely satisfied with my experience at Trippy Taco, which has been enhanced since I realised the trick to ordering is to go for the non-vegan options. In my opinion, Mexican is all about the cheese & sour cream and life (and Trippy Taco) is just better with both. I always order the fries; I probably don't always *need* the fries but order them all the same, 'cause they're delicious.

Christine R.

Yelp
I will admit that I'm a burrito snob, but California does that to you. I'm also a vegetarian burrito snob, so that makes it worse. So, when overly sweet carrots appear in my "tofu asada burrito" without warning, I don't know what to do. Not the type of surprise that I like in my burrito. It just kinda ruined it for me. Service could have been a tad friendlier, too. Sorry, Trippy Taco... love your concept, but disappointed by the outcome.

Cat W.

Yelp
Okay, so, confession time....my interest in the restaurant was initially piqued when I misheard a work colleague, thinking she was talking about a restaurant called 'Tripitaka' (I may or may not have been a fan of that 'Monkey Magic' show when I was a younger 'un, and may or may not have had a slightly disturbing crush on said priest type person!!). Turns out the much more appropriately named Trippy Taco was worth as much excitement as the Tripitaka-Monkey-Magic restaurant in my head! I was once again thrust into menu selection turmoil due to the range of vegetarian/vegan interpretations of Mexican food on offer, but settled on a burrito - a Trippy's Original Burrito, vegan style - to be exact. My god...so fresh...so delicious...so filled to the brim with its black bean, salad, and salsa-y goodness! I devoured it like a burrito enamoured great white shark! My cantina compadre ordered the Tofu Asada Burrito, filled with chargrilled tofu, goats cheese, mozzarella, salad, salsa, and guacamole. The report from her side of the table was also good! Throw in some Trippy fries, and a Monday Mojito, and viola...mischief managed! The decor of Trippy Taco is Mexican minimalist, but the feel is cute enough, and I loved the seating options. Taco punters who arrive before the masses can choose from your standard table & chair affair, to bar stool window seats looking out onto Gertrude Street, and a lower bench and seats that look out onto a little side lane way. If you are fortunate enough to score a window seat, you know you are in for some quality people watching opportunities - the perfect burrito chaser! In true Terminator form...."I'll be back" *insert Schwarzenegger accent here*

Nick P.

Yelp
I went in here expecting a hearty Mexican meal. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian and although the food was tasty - it's incredibly overpriced. I paid $17 for a "large" nachos which is advertised as "to share". It was absolutely not enough to share. The sangria was not very good either. You could get the same thing from any other nacho place for cheaper and tell them to hold the meat.

M K.

Yelp
Love this place. Best vegan burritos around. I get the Tofu vegan burrito with extra jalapeños and soy cheese + hot sauce. Amazing!!!

Donald Y.

Yelp
Had the veggie tofu burrito - horrible, extremely salty. I love Mexican food but this was not good. After living in NY and SF for over a year, I'd like to think my palate for Mexican cuisine is quite good, and as excited I was to try this place, it was seriously sub-par. We went late at night before they closed, which may explain the food, but it's no excuse.

Hugh M.

Yelp
After visiting the former incarnation of somewhere between a broom closet and a shoebox many times, I was finally excited to come and try out the new location. Albeit rather late. Truth told I had been waiting so long for it to open that I had in the end forgotten about it. I'm thinking that most people rave about this due to its lack of meat- meat traditionally imparting greater flavour to dishes. The fact that it's vegetarian and still great tasting is amazing. Its also kind of humbling that you can easily grab a beer with lunch- and not have to go through the usual suspects. The servings tend to be quite hearty and this should be rewarded - nothing stingy here. It can be hard to choose between the all the options a available, but the Trippy taco fires are a sure fire winner!

Stephanie D.

Yelp
And so it happened that two years after my initial visit to TT, I returned, delirious with hunger after hitting an open bar event at Sentido Funf across the street. It was late, and I was craving a big fat burrito, so I decided I'd take a chance and visit the restaurant in its new digs on Gertrude Street. So, now I feel humbled because this time I really, really liked the joint. I got a big ass veggie burrito packed with tofu, lettuce, creamy guacamole, and salsa. I enjoyed every last bite and I much preferred the ambiance of the new location. Yes, humbled I am.

Linh D.

Yelp
I like to think of myself as a Mexican food connoisseur, for someone living in Melbourne. Trippy Taco isn't bad by any means, it just also isn't really what I would consider good Mexican food. You could argue that it's not really that though, and more of a vegetarian joint. And if that was the case, then I'd have to say it's a bit of an overpriced one.

Sam P.

Yelp
Awesome cheap eats place. it has some gluten free options too. These are great, and you never feel bloated afterwards. This is the type of place that I'll be coming back to again and again. Its great for a Friday night quick eats before going out, or a lazy saturday arvo bite. Highly recommended.

Bonnie M.

Yelp
Love Tripy Tacos. A MUST try! Great place. Never lets you down. Mexican goodness. Can't help but keep going back.

Julie H.

Yelp
At last we have found "proper" Mexican - like the stuff they serve in Mexico and in sunny California! No packaged El Paso slop here! And even meat lovers will be happy to have a day off with this fab vegetarian menu! Hooray!! My nachoes were great, four out out of five of us LOVED the bean and cheese burrito (my ten year old prefers refried blah beans to black beans but she LOOOVVVEEED her nutella burrito) and they sell Jarritos soft drinks! Staff were friendly, service is quick, place is pumping all the time! What is NOT to like about this tacqueria????

Anna H.

Yelp
'Meh, I've experienced better' is exactly my sentiment. Both time the chips were stale which equals extremely disappointed. Reminded me of when my vet told me I should feed raw chicken wings to my cat to clean their teeth. Also the salsa, nice effort but I think you forgot to add salt. Like others who have reviewed, I'm a San Fran Mission gal so I know the expectations are high but its hard to give good reviews when you can make it better yourself.

Ed C.

Yelp
Trippy Taco rocks and in it's new spot on Gertrude is the best advert from vegetarian food I know. Everything is fresh and zesty and it costs less than 10 bucks.

Siobhan B.

Yelp
Excellent vegetarian mexican style food. LOADS of gluten free options - in fact most were gf - which I personally appreciate as I can only eat gluten free and I didn't feel like I had to ask about their cooking practices (in order to not get sick). Had the gluten free corn taco with black beans.. absolutely loved it. Had some suprising ingredients that really worked.. sultanas, beetroot and carrot. Was SO nice. Flavours were awesome. They do take away/pick ups. As I live in the city (10 min tram ride), I will use this for sure! Will come back for sure. LOVE it.

Sarah A.

Yelp
This is just yum! Didn't even miss the meat ( sorry vegetarians). I'm not into spice so this place worked for me

Danny B.

Yelp
I hear people rave about Trippy Taco all the time, and finally having the chance to get into one of these burritos as I was strolling down Gertrude watching the light works. We got here just as it was about to close (will have it dine-in thanks... *annoyance looks*) The burrito was pretty decent. Had good flavor. It was nothing amazing, but i can see why people like it. The interior of this place is kinda cool too, and they have a big focus on tequila, which i really enjoy. I wouldnt go out my way to come here, but next time i'm in the area and feeling a burrito, id most likely go here.

Theresa W.

Yelp
How lucky am I that I live a stone's throw from Trippy Taco? Perched on the Smith St. end of Gertrude, its cheery sign beckons all to experience its delicious food. What sets Trippy Taco apart? For one thing, it's been in Melbourne since way, way before Mexican became the new Thai. For another, it's entirely vegetarian. Now, real Mexicans (and I'm friends with some) or those who have lived there (same) might proclaim up and down that this is not traditional in any way, shape, or form. But this is Melbourne, and Fitzroy, and Gertrude -- so if a Mexican place wants to go veggie, they're gonna do it here. And they're going to see the clientele not be able to get enough. I have been there too many times to count (see: living stone's throw away), and can attest that while the prices might not be as good as in Mexico, it's still a good bargain for Melbourne. Try the tacos, the tostados, and the soft drinks -- or even sangria. Just make sure that you time your arrival so you can snag a seat. This place is BUSY, and for a reason.

Allan B.

Yelp
Although Trippy Taco is a vegetarian restaurant, this should not stop you! I am a picky [read: American-born] Latin food lover. I love the spices, seasonings, black (not red) beans. I love taco. I love burritos. And I loathe cheap imitations. Trippy Taco gets it right! The first time I went, I didn't realize there was even tofu in what I ordered. It's simply that good. You're getting the food you want, and it is guiltless (until you order a burrito, and some tacos, and then you fall into a food coma for hours). It's a tiny place, so don't be afraid to grab your food and take it home, or eat on a bench if you simply can't walk that far while smelling the warm, Latin goodness. Best of all, it's really quite cheap!!! for the amount of food you're getting!

Jason H.

Yelp
In a little place close to the city end of Smith St you will often find several queuing out the door to get a hand on some masterful Mexican. This is the Mexican genius of Trippy Taco, one of the newer establishments that evolved from a truck serving at festivals to a fleshed out restaurant of its own. Not the most sitting room, with tables inside and out, getting one on the street is a better preference, unless you have the odd chance of a wandering homeless sort asking for money. Takeaway is a good option, and the selection of bits on the menu is great for any sized stomach. Recommend the madball corn in corn husk leaves, that stuff will meet any craving!

Qype User (elliot…)

Yelp
Mexicani love mexican. And you say theres one near us? oh well, we must go at once. Hold on, whats wrong with this menuwhat missing from all these ingridents? why is there no Fish Tacos or Carnea Bruitos? This is one of those.um what do you call itVeg..VegaVegetarian Places?! Ok, i have nothing against vegetarians, other than the fact that when im Lord Ruler of the world they will be the first with their backs against the wall. I dont mind a little salad next to me steak. But there is one thing you can't do, you cant take the bloody meat out of my Mexican food. I had the Tocitos, which were filled with some odd black bean past, which wasnt unpleasent, just alittle bland. Covered in a subpar salsa, the whole dish was alittle 1 dimensional. the other people with me a had Buritowhich had Tofu in it (i dont know where to begin with why thats wrong) which was basically a giant salad wrap. And a Casadia, which you cant mess up, but it wasnt seasoned enough. to its credit, the food was cheap ( i mean how much do vegetables cost?) and the atmoshphere was fun. And i can't give it one star, because it not my lifesyle choice

Isaac S.

Yelp
This place was an awesome find! I was with an American friend and we had both been craving some Mexican food. The tortillas were home made which is key and we had the trippy and the asada tacos full of vege and white cheese. If you are a fan of real Mexican food then this is not the place for you. Its a great healthy twist on Mexican food but I had to order jalapeños on the side for extra and there were only a few bottles of green and red sauce in the building. Mexican coke was great too!

Jo S.

Yelp
I've never had a burrito with goats cheese but my god it was delicious! Cute little Mexican joint with friendly staff who even gave us recommendations of the best dishes. Would definitely go back!

Candice V.

Yelp
If you're looking for a good cheap a cheerful Mexican place a la style of California, keep looking as you haven't found it yet. I'm pretty sure there was stewed tomato in my burrito. And the burrito had cabbage in it, cabbage goes in tacos, not burritos.

Cameron W.

Yelp
Don't judge me, but I once accidentally bought a block of vegan chocolate. There was a similar moment of disappointed horror when I realised that Trippy Taco was vegetarian. It wasn't the fact that someone would think of having a bash at Mexican-esque food without meat, but they should have a warning label on the window or something, perhaps "Disappointing omnivores since...". I felt like I'd been lured in under false pretences, and couldn't really enjoy the food. This wasn't helped by the hipster vibe of the place and clientele. All through dinner, I was wishing we'd gone to a Mexican restaurant...

David T.

Yelp
Tasty vegetarian Mexican food with fast service that hits that late night food craving (I'm no vego either).

Rul A.

Yelp
After going to Huxtaburger down the road only to find out they're a cash only restaurant (what is this!! 2012). I had to look for an alternative and since I have begun an interest to explore Mexican food beyond just Doritos Chips. TT was the obvious choice. The Tofu Burito with Black Beans that I had was filled with fresh ingredients in a HUGE portion. So huge that after going through eating. I was wondering when is going to be the next time that I will get hungry again. I would definitely give this place another go and if I experienced a better than this time customer service. It is bound that those star ratings will be raised.

Christoph D.

Yelp
BEST place in Melbourne HANDS DOWN! And the people who work there are SUPER friendly. Authentic Mexican esp for Vegan/Veg food. Im not veg or vegan but if i could live off these i would be.

Kenny N.

Yelp
Need a healthy spicy snack? Check out Trippy Taco. My vegetarian friend recommended this restaurant when I need fuel after teaching some swing dance classes at the Copa. I wish this place was open later (closes at 10pm), but I made it in time. They have several delicious taco and burrito items to choose from. If you want something less messy, definitely try the burrito. Those tacos, while tastifully savory, are a mess to eat. The carne asada burrito with tofu (the "carne") is a true winner.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and grab a mixed vegan burrito, it's not on the menu, but it's IMO the tastiest, most satisfying dish available at Trippy Taco.

Yelp
This place is OK. I've had the Soft Shell Tacos with back beans and the Nachos. I mean I can make better Mexican at home, but this is the case for pretty much every Mexican place I have ever been to. Its good for a quick cheap healthy meal, but I'm not sure it lives up to the hype and the swarms of people lining up and sitting and eating in the next door alleyway.

Yelp
Quick, clean, and fun. Yummy food. Highly recommend. Pity everyone else likes it too, I hate waiting.

Yelp
The tofu tacos and nachos are amazing. Grab a cerveza and nachos to share with the posse and enjoy.
