Honestly, they have some of the best queso blanco I’ve ever tasted. I’ve been to two different locations, actually three, and the queso is always top-notch. I always order the breakfast tacos, specifically the Wranglers, but this last time, I decided to try the Baja shrimp and the Mr. Orange tacos. While the Mr. Orange didn’t really impress me, the Baja shrimp taco was a 10 out of 10! If you’re looking for great queso and delicious tacos, this place definitely delivers!

Updating review: Solid spot for Tex-max tacos Torchy’s tacos hits the spot when you’re craving TexMex. I’ve tried their steak and salmon tacos, both of which were solid! Folks taking orders at the counter are nice. The interior features plenty of clean area to sit. There’s paid and free paid parking but not a dedicated lot.

they consistently are so kind and two times (not just one) the buzzer theyve given me had my angel number so I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be - at the torchys tacos in rice village. oh, but lowkey since their mascot is the opposite of an angel, I am a wee bit spooked. stay safe out there

Well let’s just say they had no other choice but to give us our money back nothing was correct. I ordered a steak fajita burrito no beans and it didn’t have steak on it, the queso had all the ingredients mixed in when we asked to have it on the side and the lady said it would be on the side and no sauces, some of the tacos didn’t have all the ingredients and some of them were not even cooked.

Torchy’s Tacos was my fav in Texas. Ate it a couple of times when I was here. The trailer park and baja shrimp were the best! Eat it if you are in Texas! I bet you will have no regrets! And they refill the chips as well - freshly made!

Terrible experience at Torchy’s Tacos. I wish I could give zero stars. After placing our order, we waited 30 minutes before checking on the status—only to end up waiting a full hour for NOTHING. Every time we asked, the servers kept saying, "It'll be ready in two minutes," which, of course, was a complete lie. The most shocking part? The four employees working were doing everything—taking orders, cooking in the kitchen, and serving food. No proper role division, no efficiency, just pure chaos. One worker even admitted, "Yeah, we’re all taking orders, cooking, and serving. It’s really tough for us." I’m sorry, but… how is that a customer’s problem? If your system is a mess, don’t make customers suffer for it! To make things worse, one male server with curly hair just wandered around, looking lost while carrying chips, as if he forgot what he was supposed to do. No sense of urgency, no professionalism. If you value your time and money, avoid this place at all costs. The workers don’t respect customers, don’t know how to manage a restaurant, and honestly, seem like they’d be better off staying home than pretending to run a food business. This happened Feb 2nd 2025.
