Been wanting to come here for a little bit now! Staff were amazing. Very friendly and quick. Sad to say the ham and scrambled egg dish was extremely disappointing. Eggs were under cooked with no seasoning. Potatoes were over cooked and mushy, no seasoning either. The ham was good. Presentation was gorgeous. The toast was also hard and over cooked. The mimosa was delicious. Atmosphere was wonderful. Excellent music selection! The valet gentleman was extremely friendly. However, when he wasn't tending to the vehicles, he was on his phone playing games with the volume seemingly at full blast. That was honestly super annoying and put a damper on the overall Atmosphere. I would not recommend the breakfast. It was nowhere near worth 22 bucks. I would try and come back for lunch or dinner, but that's a long shot.

Such beautiful hidden gem along highway 1 in Malibu. With gorgeous views of the ocean just steps from the beach. The outdoor dinning has beach sand to sink your toes into. Everything on the menu was phenomenal! You cant go wrong with the taco trio. We will definitely be back and try more from their menu. Gotta try it all and plan on spending sometime at the beach so bring a beach towel to enjoy after dinner views of the ocean.

I would like to mention the Sunset restaurant in Malibu only for its location. But the food leaves much to be desired, not only did we have to wait 40 minutes for our order, but the taste was also very mediocre, nothing to say wow, it was worth the money I paid. But not in this case. I would also like to say about the portion size, it is a complete mockery, you can hardly see the food on the plate. In general, the conclusion is that the restaurant is very overrated. A confident 3-.

Had a really excellent meal here on Friday night. Great views, really warm & inviting atmosphere, attentive service & the food was outstanding. We split the Waygu Beef Meatball appetizer which was perfect for our party of three. All of us loved it - great, rich flavor in a well-prepared sauce that allowed the flavor to come through. We had drinks - I had a great Italian Pinot Grigio and my friends had mixed drinks that came out perfectly. For our main courses, we had fish tacos (both my friends) and I had the Chopped Salad which was comprised of chicken, vegetables, grains and avocado in a balsamic dressing - so good and a generous portion (having it for lunch tomorrow). And after, I had a soy cappuccino that hit the spot. Couldn’t recommend the place highly enough - Ron, the manager, and Nico, our server do an excellent job. I can’t wait to return.

Restaurant just at the beach. Fine view. Staff is helpful and nice. Can imagine that it gets crowded in the evenings. Food was great, nice service. Price setting above average, but considering the location and food, no problem. For family and couples. Enjoy.

The food, service, and view were incredible. You can probably get the same quality food for cheaper but it was still perfect.

The salad was okay but the orange juice disappointed with being 8 dollars just that little glass :( By the way, menu prices are different at their web site, at the display outside of restaurant, and the one server gives you. Ridiculous!

the place is very ordinary causal near the seaside the food was normal we order calamari salad hamburger and fish sandwiches and the best was the chicken mushroom the service was quite good

We had our wedding lunch reception at the Sunset this weekend and it was such a dream! The food,the views,the service,the ambiance! Outstanding experience that made our day very special and great memories for life.We will keep on going back always

We recently hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at The Sunset Restaurant, and it was absolutely fantastic! With about 35 people for dinner and all our out-of-town wedding guests for drinks, we rented out the entire upstairs, which offered a stunning view of the sunset--just as the restaurant's name promises. The food was delicious and came out right on time, which kept everyone happy and satisfied. When it came time to transition the space from dinner to drinks, it was a bit tricky managing so many guests and getting the drinks flowing while cleaning up, but this was more of a scheduling hiccup on our end than anything the restaurant did wrong. Once everything was set up, the drinks were flowing, and everyone had an absolute blast. Valet service was a breeze, making it easy for our guests to arrive and leave without any hassle. The restaurant even stayed open an extra hour just for us, which was incredibly accommodating. A special shoutout to Jewel, who was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the planning process. Her attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our evening went smoothly made all the difference. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with excellent service and a breathtaking view, The Sunset Restaurant is the perfect choice. Thank you for making our night so memorable!

My girlfriend and I went to sunset restaurant for her bday celebrations, there was no mention of her bday celebration that I have requested while I made the reservation. The service was mediocre at best We had to flag our waitress for some basic table needs, our waitress never came to check on us for anything, bus boy was more helpful than our waitress, we had a bday table next to us, they were obnoxious and a nuisance to everyone else. Few Tables left because of them It was a bday celebration for guy name Arnold, It was a horrible experience to "good restaurant" Best believe when I mention that to the host no manager was called to solve the issue nor any resolution was presented. It might not make a difference to the restaurant because of the business and location they are in. But I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my clients or business partners. I'm a restaurant operator and work with investors in the industry closely, best believe this is the restaurant we will be talking about.

Made a reservation for here on a Friday at 6 pm to celebrate a friend's promotion. It was chilly and windy outside so we were sat inside by the windows. It's actually a huge restaurant, larger than what I expected from the outside. The inside is very beach themed, with wooden features and cabana-style architecture and decor. It's a very cute restaurant that is good for both groups and a date. They do have valet parking but we were able to park on the side of the street not too far away. I have actually come to Point Dume many times and this street can be very packed when there's nice weather so plan accordingly. I decided to get the Pink Elephant drink, my boyfriend got the Mangolicious, and my friend got the Paloma Sunset. All drinks were strong but delicious. The Pink Elephant was the sweetest and personally my favorite. We weren't extremely hungry so my friends just got the clam chowder and a Caesar's salad while my boyfriend and I got the fritto misto (part of the specials) and the spicy ahi tuna tartare. The ahi tuna was delicious. I wish it came with more of the fried wonton crisps but all the ingredients were fresh and excellent. The fritto misto was delicious as well, lots of large shrimp and calamari but the thinly sliced zucchini was overcooked and tasted slightly bitter. I still ate it all. The lemon came in a cute little net to catch seeds and other lemon solids. For dessert the four of shared the pistachio tres leches and the tiramisu. Both were so good and bigger portions than expected! The tiramisu was sweeter and had 2 small crunchy wafers while the tres leches had lots of pistachio sprinkled on top. Both were soft and had great flavor. Would get either again. Overall an excellent experience and went above expectations for a restaurant with such a great location. Prices for drinks and dessert were lower than expected while food prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly and quick the entire time and the ambiance is perfect for a casual/fancier beach meal. Will definitely come again!

Came here for a team event and loved it! Even though we were unlucky with the weather and got caught in a downpour, the food more than made up for it. We ordered calamari, raw seafood platters and I got the seafood linguine for my entree. Everything was super tasty and well cooked! One minor nit with the calamari is that the breading on the outside didn't seem that well attached, it fell off very easily and you had to be pretty careful with eating it lest it fall onto the table (and go to waste). Seafood linguine was an incredibly generous portion and I left feeling stuffed. Perfectly cooked seafood and noodles; the sauce was a little bit on the sweeter side due to them using sweeter tomatoes. I like my tomatoes and my tomato sauce a little more tangy but not a huge deal overall. Spice level was just right on the linguine and I could taste the red pepper flakes. The virgin Pina Colada was also very well made and easy to drink!

Questionable seafood, but amazing views, drinks and service made up for all of it! As you can guess from the name, this is an incredible place to watch the sunset. It's just steps away from the beach and there are big panoramic windows that face the ocean. The perfect spot to grab a bite and a drink during happy hour! Unfortunately the food was not great. We ordered fish tacos that were covered in fish skin. This was really unappetizing, and I'd definitely avoid again at all costs. I hate sending food back, so luckily our server was super sweet and apologetic. We tried the calamari instead, but this was also just okay. Super rubery and not the freshest tasting. Lackluster food aside, this is a must visit for oceanfront drinks in Malibu during the golden hour.

My family had a pleasant lunch here. Wonder views, good service and good food. Wife had the chop salad and loved it. Son had a burger and thought it was good. I had the fish tacos and they were tasty. Not from California, so don't have a frame of reference for prices here, but definitely more than I'm used to.

We spent a morning climbing Point Dume- loved that there's parking here plus our friend recommended it. Sand covered patio outside was perfect to enjoy a sunny day. Light lunch & everything was delicious & fresh- manager stopped by was quite friendly. Waiter was super on top of things. Indoor decor also lovely & spacious. Restroom was clean- definitely worth repeat visit

What an amazingly beautiful day at the beach and the @thesunsetrestaurant !! They are always so kind and the food is amazing!! And the biggest plus is the beach view! I let them know I had some friends from out of town who had never been to California, so we would love to have a great seat with a view. She was so kind and left a detailed note to let us pick where we wanted to sit. We got to sit in the sand and eat and stare at the beautiful ocean. The octopus appetizer is one of my favorites! I have to order that every time! My friends who thought I was nuts.... I made them try it and they actually like octopus now! I also had the lobster tacos with chipotle sauce! It was loaded with lobster. My favorite! I also had a bite of my sister skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. That was also excellent! I highly recommend! The only downfall was I had the most amazing day.... Then to walk to my car and had been giving a parking ticket. And my friend received one as well. Thanks for ruining the rest of my day the City of Malibu.

I really enjoyed my dinner. I unfortunately have to remark on the manager Atnum- she was giving our table dirty looks the entire time including the babies in their high chairs that were acting completely appropriately. I tried to ask her if there was an issue in which she got extremely defensive and rudely responded that she had no idea what I was talking about. Other customers around me heard the exchange and said they noticed and extremely rude demeaner as well. Thankfully our waitress Carolina was so amazing and sweet and treated us beautifully and is the sole reason we will continue to return as we have been coming here a long time. We had a nearly $400 bill as we love all the food here and ordered ALOT. You'd think the manager would be grateful but she made us so uncomfortable. Carolina and Melvin saved the day and got the five stars that atnum didn't deserve. Thank you two.

Return visit. Still great chill vibes and views. I love coming early and sitting upstairs so i can hear my friends while we chat. If there's a crowd i cannot hear my group at all upstairs. Food is good, not great. I'd say the food is safe for brunch. Latte was just OK. Mimosas are good. Service is very down to earth, not pretentious or snobby. I love that aspect.

*** FANTASTIC RESTAURANT AFTER BEAUTIFUL BEACH DAY *** I'm gonna say it... location, location, location! Before/After the beach... you can literally walk to this restaurant from the parking lot and have a "eat on the beach" kinda restaurant. I would like to think this place has 3 different vibes. The inside is classy, louder, exciting and day time brunch club ish, while the middle area is lounge, relaxed, bright and chill where you could be as casual as you like outside on the patio and truly sit down in a bathing suit and towel. We sat in the middle area where the sunny bright sky welcomed us. We were a party of 6 and we didn't have a rezzy on a Sunday, we were sat right away. The food was amazing! Especially the calamari and the fish tacos. Absolutely delicious cocktails... dirty martini, expresso martini and some beers... we knew we made the right decision coming here. The staff could have been a little more warm and friendly... it also took a bit of time for our cocktails and food to come but once they arrived, they were delectable. The ocean views are my favorite... we wanted to stay all day. There isn't a place quite like The Sunset... where you know you're going to get quality. This was a very pleasant experience overall. A magical view paired with decadent vibes while feeling the breeze and hearing the ocean. It's a 4 almost 5 star for sure. Can't wait to return and hoping I can turn this review into a perfect rating. Oh ya, if you check in on Yelp... you get a free glass of wine! That's fun! But only one per table.

The setting was what made us chose this spot. The menu looked interesting. We were able to use Open Table to make the reservations. The food and service was excellent. Beautiful view. Liked the casual atmosphere. The prices were right inline for So Cal beach dining. We will make an effort to visit again.

Made a reservation- got there and it was a 30-45 minute wait for the table. Please don't let people make reservations if you don't have capacity to seat them- it's pretty much a night ruiner. An hour and 10 minutes later... I am still 18th on the waitlist for my reservation. Big yikes!!!

My friend took us here on a drive along the PCH. We wanted to have brunch somewhere with a view. No problem parking. We sat at a window seat and saw dolphins playing in the ocean as we enjoyed a lovely meal. We all ordered the most popular menu item, the tacos. They offer fish, shrimp and lobster tacos. They were all so delicious, my favorite were the lobster and shrimp tacos. We ordered the Blanc de blanc and it was such a great pairing. The host and waitress were all so accommodating and the setting was soooo cute. If you want Greta food with a beach view, this is your place. I'd love to go back and explore more of the menu.

Big restaurant with very busy bar & scattered bistro tables, large main dining room, beach sand patio, and upstairs. Sunset Restaurant is not on the beach side of the road so parked cars in front obstruct a clear field view of the beach. The upstairs room by a window may be the way to go.  We arrived about 45 minutes before sunset to witness the ochre sun set in a gap between two parked cars. I had to do a huge crop job to make the photo look "romantic".  Our mission in coming to Point Dume, Malibu was to see the Perseid Meteor Shower which originates from debris left by comet Swift-Tuttle. A streaking, flaming fire ball with the Milky Way in the background left a huge impression.   Since the owner of Sunset is from Bari, Apuglia, I thought the Liguine with good quality, 1 lb whole lobster would be appropriate. Maine Lobster shell is already cut in half to reveal the steamed, firm yet sweet, moist, slightly fibrous white meat dressed American style with a lot of butter.   Linguine pasta was properly al dente in a mild white wine sauce with cherry tomatoes, touch of fresh basil chiffonade, random chunks of lobster that was enhanced by the butter from the lobster.   It may be the most expensive item on the menu, but it is so big & filling that there is no reason to order an appetizer. That makes ordering this dish a deal.  Since I had to keep awake to see the meteors, ordered refillable ice tea which was rather weak although a summery, cold, crisp rosé wine would have been ideal.  Got the Tres Leches Cake shaped in a timbale so it looks like a round turret. Light sponge cake is drenched in milk, evaporated milk, & condensed milk.  Added feature was whipped cream filling and crushed roasted pistacchio nuts on top for a textural contrast. Chocolate and caramel syrup streaks on plate for decoration. It's a satisfying dairy intensive, light dessert.  Not the best beach viewing restaurant, but the food here passes muster. Service is friendly, laid back, but waiters must hurry on since they have to cover so many tables. Valet parking is a must at $10 plus tip.  4- stars for unhurried dining in a busy restaurant.

This is restaurant that I have passed by many times and never gone in. Boy did I do a disservice to myself! My husband brought me here for my birthday and when we entered, it was the cutest restaurant with Rattan everywhere and wallpaper on the walls and neon signs. And you look through the windows and there's beautiful Zuma Beach right across the street. our waiter treated us like we were old friends and had great suggestions for our group. The octopus appetizer is in a cannellini bean moose and it's so delicious! The portions are huge and everyone was too busy eating to take even one picture of their food the menu was a perfect mix between seafood and Italian comfort. They brought me the flourless chocolate cake for my birthday and it was delicious but hands-down, the pistachio tres leches was out of this world and like nothing we've ever tasted before! That is a dessert that I will dream about and come back for! Can't wait to be back in Malibu so I can come back to the restaurant and try some of the other food!

One of my all time favorite restaurants! My friend brought me here after a beach day to celebrate my birthday, it's a beautiful location right across from the beach (gorgeous views) we sat outside and it was so warm and watched the sunset. We were spoiled by our server and the bartender who created a few cocktails just for us! We had a spicy citrus margarita, a twist on a lemon drop and a few others. As for the food, we ordered the burrata which I order everywhere and I really enjoyed it. The portion size and quality of food is sooo fairly priced, especially given the location. My friend devoured her seafood pasta dish and was scraping the plate for the sauce at the end, she was in bliss. I had a pasta dish as well and really enjoyed it, would return for everything we ordered! They really went the extra mile to make us feel special! Would recommend this place for a date night, special occasion, girls night out, a restaurant this beautiful should be a celebration landmark! Can't wait to return for brunch! Thank you for making this occasion so special!

This is my 2nd visit here and I must say this place is great!!! First is this beautiful location on the beach. I love those beaches I got to know thanks to this restaurant. The food was amazing and everything was made to perfection. We had the Brussels sprouts (omg the best I've had!) the caprese salad (finest quality I came across) we also ordered the salmon dish and the branzino dish that were so delicious as well. I had the risotto which was decent. Service is excellent and prices are good too. For this location and meal size they are fare. All in all this place is a must! We had a great dinner.

Stopped here for dinner with the Wife after a day in the area. The restaurant is beautiful and service is good as well as the customer service. The waiter was very attentive but not too attentive. Very beautiful view right in front of the beach and it didn't hurt I had the most beautiful view right in front of me ( My Wife!!). Food was delicious. I added shrimp to my Pumpkin Tortellini and it made all the difference. Parking can suck but there is Valet if you don't want to park down the street. Establishment is kept very clean. I would recommend you stop by here if you're in the area and enjoy the food, view, life and your company!!

Service is very good! It is a little pricey but I believe it's worth it. Was attending a wedding rehearsal and had a fixed menu. The calamari is 10/10!!! Would come back just for that.

I would like to start by saying this spot is probably one of Malibu's best kept secrets . While last ok'ing for a place to dine I came across this beautiful place right on the beach . The spot itself is very nice with a good mix of tourist and locals . Ambiance- the sunset you get to see here are beautiful just like the name states . While the place seems loud and busy you can actually have a nice quiet dinner with family and friends. Service- great service the waiter (an Italian gentleman) was great he not only had great suggestions but made sure our dinning experience was memorable. Not once did I have to ask him for a drink he was on it . Food- AMAZING has the jumbo scallops as an appetizer I have to say delicious . For our entree we had a full main lobster linguine and clam linguine. Both dishes were amazing and reasonably priced . We finished our meal with a pistachio nut tres leches cake . I will never again look at tres leches as boring again. This was a light but delicious desert . Drinks were amazing as well . Only bad thing is that parking is a pain even if you valet park . I highly recommend reservations specially if you want to be seated in time .

views and flavor. they have it all. reasonable prices for location and quality. good service. convenient parking , I believe valet was available. second time back on two separate trips to cali! will always try to make it a stop in my travels!! great for an option for a before or my preferred after hike treat. point dume natural preserve trail right down the road/ walking distance.

I had a great bday dinner! Can't believe it was our first time here. Between the ocean breeze, great service (Anna our server), and of course the sunset you cant ask for much more. We really enjoyed their Mai Tai. It was of course sweet but not over the top which was perfect. The food was good, but not great. Weirdly it was one of those situations where most dishes just needed a bit more salt, especially the calamari. The salmon and the skirt steak were cooked a perfect medium rare. Now I love carrot cake, but this one took the cake, haha. Valet $10 or parking by the beach is available but it did get really busy prior to sunset. Very cool to walk across the street to the beach before leaving.

My first Malibu dining experience at the Sunset Restaurant during their happy hour was a delightful surprise! The lower-priced dishes from the regular menu allowed us to savor a variety of their offerings. The drink specials, especially on wine and well drinks, added to the enjoyment of the evening. Our seats provided a mesmerizing view of the ocean, although the sofa seating made me a tad warm after some time. Nevertheless, the overall experience was amazing, highlighted by the breathtaking scenery. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere exuded a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe. Sunset Restaurant is a must-visit for a memorable dining experience by the ocean in Malibu.

Open to Interpretation for the sake of my Sanity: This place was recommended by our friends that raved on the taste & quality of food. We were all pretty hyped up on the idea of having breakfast here knowing that the location was right across the beach! & looking forward to a wonderful experience. Until ... We walked in & said "Good morning" to the Host whom appeared to be organizing a stack of Menus. She glanced up and said " What are you here for?" followed by an eternal *awkward silence* Until I said, "ah... I mean you serve food here..right?" Host: "right. Oh my gosh I don't even know why I asked you that !" She then began to walk us to our table. My friends & I sincerely wanted to give the Host the benefit of the doubt but with every passing minute it became more challenging. We sat at our table wondering if this was something that would happen to the next person who would come in or if we were just not seen as potential customers in search of a pleasant meal. 0 Stars for Customer Service 5 Stars for their Phenomenal Pancakes Please do Better

*mindful that I went on a busy day end of April I was in Malibu on a trip and had made my reservation over a week in advance. We got to the restaurant maybe 10 minutes early and did have to wait some time for a table inside. The restaurant was definitely full and moving on a Saturday night. The hostess were sweet, attentive and conversational. Once seated we waited another 20 minutes to get utensils and attention which we found odd. Service was slow. And on a busy night definitely loud but understandable. The food now, delicious!!!!! I had the mussels with fries, my friends had the lobster, everything was well made and amazing.

You're in the beach- literally! Outdoor seating is in the sand, and you can take off your shoes and not a relaxed vibe. Or, you can go inside to an island themed setting, with open windows and enjoy the beach. Food is tasty, but nothing to write home about. The pink elephant is a tasty little cocktail and makes for some picturesque posts. It's really about the location here.

We've tried to eat here a few times over the past few years but the wait time was waaay too long - summer weekends. We happened to be in the area in a windy and rainy day and tables were available this time!! The fish/eggplant sandwich was good. Staff was funny - at least they tried.. haha!

Had lunch here today. Had a great seat by the window with a beautiful view. Relaxed vibe. Had the clam chowder and sweet potato fries. Food was great. Location is amazing.

Dined in on a Thursday around 4 pm and the restaurant was pretty empty. We just wanted to grab a drink and an app after hanging out at the beach. They offer happy hour Monday - Thursday after 3 pm. Food + drinks 5/5 Parmesan truffle fries was addicting! It comes with ketchup but we asked for garlic aioli too and couldn't stop eating them! Espresso martini looked delicious and I got a cocolado mocktail which was very yummy and refreshing too! Service 3/5 We were seated but not attended to for awhile until we notified someone that we're ready to order. After that, the lady serving us was lovely and attentive! Although, I must mention that we were never provided the happy hour menu and were charged regular prices for everything even though it was happy hour and those items were listed on the menu too!! Prices 4/5 I think overall they charge prices based on the location and views which makes sense. I probably wouldn't dine here for a full meal but for apps and some drinks, it was great to chill and enjoy the view. Overall I'd come here again just for the views but would definitely ask for a happy hour menu if not provided next time!

Big fan of The Sunset... especially their Seafood Tower! I've been several times before and have always enjoyed our time there. Everyone is lovely

Jim G and I went in with lower expectations because of other reviews and the location. Due to that, and the great service from Anna, we had a great time! The location really Is stunning, with only a small road separating you from the mostly isolated sand. We sat in an area that had huge windows opened for full appreciation of the view and the sea breeze. I forgot how chilly it can get in Malibu and I was dressed for the heat in the West Valley, lol! Jim G and I enjoyed some cocktails and ordered an appetizer and a couple of entrees. The highlight was the Caesar salad with added anchovies and salmon, cooked medium rare. The flavors were great. Was it expensive? Yes, of course. But it was a lovely evening with great service and a perfect location. I'd go back.

We drove two hours in traffic to come to this place and it did not disappoint. We are from Texas and we were on our last night from Spring Break and started driving back after going here. The food was amazing, the views were perfect, and the service was great! Definitely 10/10!

I saw this place on YouTube and been wanting to try the lobster pasta. I made a reservation a few weeks ahead. This place seemed more on the casual side. We were seated by the window and was able to catch the sunset. It was beautiful. If you check in on yelp you can get a free glass of wine. The pasta had a good amount of lobster meat and a whole lobster cut in half. The flavor was simple and not over whelming. My boyfriend got the skirt steak with fries and he enjoyed it.

My wife & I have a tradition of coming here every year after new years and we just learned they don't offer the lobster rolls anymore :( We ordered the tacos trio that comes with a lobster taco, fish taco & shrimp taco & the steak. I will say they were good but super bummed they don't offer the lobster rolls anymore.

Celebrated our 5 year anniversary last night at the Sunset where we were married! The 5 start thing about this restaurant is the location, which is why it makes for great celebrations! They have changed the menu over in 5 years while to be expected I was nostalgic for the old menu. Everything we ate was good. Nothing blew me away. I'd have to say the wagu burger was the best bite and the oysters while fresh and delightful had lots of broken shells in them. Service -lots of folks working, however empty water glasses and long pauses between interactions with the server. He gets a bonus point for being us honey and mustard when we asked for honey mustard which they did not have. That was excellent. No happy Anniversary or complimentary glass of champagne which I experienced previously when dining here. Like you ask the reason for the reservation, why not celebrate with us.

We wanted to love this restaurant due to its beautiful location and view, but sadly, it was more than disappointing. We ordered fish tacos which had good flavor; however, we found fish bones inside. To say it was unpleasant is an understatement. We also ordered lobster Mac and cheese. The lobster was still in its shell! Having to pick and dig through the dish was disgusting. The expensive lobster was left untouched. They did comp us for the fish tacos, but at that point we had lost our appetite and just wanted to leave. We would not return.

I ordered from DoorDash. The restaurant then notified me that it was out the lobster pasta but it didn't give me an option to add another entree. DoorDash then gave me an option and I added an entree and it was supposed to arrive with my initial order. My order was delivered without the added entree. I called and a very unprofessional person indicated that the only option was to pick up the entree, which defeats the entire purpose of DoorDash. She also refused to give me a refund. I then asked to speak to a manager and she left me on the phone with the restaurant noise ongoing for an extended period of time so I hung up. Also the bolognese pasta is poorly seasoned and subpar. Overall a bad experience.

Located right across the street from a beach in Malibu, this place is truly in such a beautiful location. However in the summer months in can defenitly feel very touristy. Parking is hard to find but there is Valet parking available for $10. Try to make reservations as this place can get very busy. Can by on a Saturday recently and had reservations at 3:45. Got seated down immediately and got a cute table on the side of their porch with a little ocean view. We ordered some cocktails and honestly they were ok. Nothing too spectacular for the price your paying. We started off with the cheese plate which was good, would have to rate it a 8 out of 10. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and it was also good, would rate it a 8 out of 10 as well. However the lobster could be better, the cheese was defenitly the star of the plate. The oysters were good and fresh and would rate those a 8 out of 10 as well. I forgot to take a picture of the Wagyu Burger I ordered but to be honest the burger just wasn't very good. Took a couple bites and was just over it. Wasn't seasoned and the buns were just bulky and falling apart. I would highly reccomend not trying their burger. Would have to rate a 2 out of 10. Total for my bill was $236 which so with tip included it came out to nearly $300. Considering what we paid we weren't fully satisfied with our meals. However the view we had was amazing and that's the price you pay to be eating Beach front in Malibu. Some things to consider but still worth checking out if in the area.

With an honest review, the food was good everything had flavor except the fish on the grilled fish tacos. It did not taste fresh however, the sweet potatoes fries were perfectly cooked crispy on the outside soft on the inside and what made this place spectacular was the view the service was not friendly and did not wait on you much it took me a while just to get my water. I'd probably come to this place for drinks and view.

I recommend this place if you're looking for an amazing place to see the sunset. We didn't really enjoy the food a hundred percent. As in, out of all the dishes we liked maybe one for real. We drank wine to keep it simple. The service was great and again I'd go back again because the views immaculate!

I can't believe I passed it going to Point Dume all these years! The ambiance is perfect - right by the beach and that airy feel that Malibu restaurants get perfectly. Our server, Diana, was so sweet and kind to me and my parents. The food was delicious - amazing calamari, tuna - and we ordered so much that we had to take a burger and some seafood tacos home! This restaurant is way better than Paradise Cove. Highly recommend. Delicious, fresh and beautiful. What could be better?

Such a beautiful, low key and delicious restaurant in Malibu! I am happy to have discovered this spot. To my knowledge, a new chef recently took ownership of the restaurant and it has changed dramatically. Everything from the tuna tartar to the salads to the fish tacos were fantastic! And you cannot beat the view!!

Great beach/ocean view in point dune area. Right across the street from the beach with lots of windows and indoor/outdoor seating options. Really yummy food and fun vibe!

Food is oh so good, and the view is wonderful. The staff were also very friendly and attentive! Thank you for a lovely lunch

Food is amazing here! My family and I came for my sister's 30th birthday dinner and every single one of us really enjoyed our meals. I had the seafood linguine and loved it. Valet service and reservation process made our visit very easy. Service was great and beach views were amazing, highly recommend Sunset Restaurant!
