Great service, excellent selection, healthy and perfect for the planet. The range of foods you can get by the scoop is huge, and they have interesting extras (gingerbread mix in a jar, peanut butter). The prices are also competitive.

I love SBF and have been a loyal member for many years now. Balmain SBF is not my local and, as passing by, wanted to try it. The place itself is very clean and organised and mostly fully stocked. Parking around easy to find so location quite good. I had quite a large purchase (just under $230). Stella, at the cash register, divided the substantial purchase in a couple of paper bags packed to the brim without a second thought of packing in a proper carry bag, even after prompted by me about overpacking in paper which cannot sustain the weight. The bags very so heavy that one of them broke on the way to the car, as only paper but very heavy. Let’s not even mention a thought about the weight of those bags and body impact, and for that reason alone, I would’ve thought it be packed safely and properly. My local SBF is Willoughby and Glebe, both of which have always used common sense and if purchase big and consequently heavy (as was yesterday) they would on their own initiative place it all in a heavy duty carry bag for easy and safe carrying. I would’ve thought having a new satisfied customer would be something they would take into account, in order for that person to return. Now, this is not going to stop me being a SBF customer, I just won’t be stopping by Balmain store any more. I thought visiting these stores would only involve product choice, from their extensive range, and not worrying about how to pack and carry?!

Love this Source. They know their products well and are always happy to help. I came in with a heap of jars and they were so patient while I took up all their space! The vibe here is just so much more welcoming than any other bulk food store I've been to (including the Source at Glebe - terrible service). Thanks so much and I'll definitely be back!

The shops is fantastic, everything is easily accessible. The prices are very reasonable compared to other health food stores. Customer Service at Bulk Foods is 10/10. Special thanks to Chanel for helping me with the tea selection, and also with rebagging the tea with no extra charge.Great experience and will be back again.

I love all of the Source chains, but the staff at Balmain take it above and beyond. Everyone is always so friendly, and helpful. I ordered a pick up at 5:40 and by 5:50, 10 minutes before closing I received a call from a lovely woman (I'm sorry I forgot your name!) who said it was done and ready to be picked up the next day. The products are a little bit on the pricer side, compared to buying from Aldi or even Woolworths. But the quality is excellent, you reduce your waste and support local at the same time. So if you can afford it, it's definitely worth it!

Google
A great bulk food store in Balmain. They have lots of products available in bulk and there is a large selection of snacks, oils, freshly made peanut and almond butters, dry fruits and nuts and so on. Staff are very helpful and prices are reasonable for the products you get here. I will definitely be back for buying food in bulk.

Yelp
From the moment I walked in I knew I was going to be a fan. Greeted warmly by all staff who genuinely shared their knowledge. I love cooking from scratch so I think they have everything I may need to do a great and healthy job. From just a few grams to bulk.. they seem to have it. Even shampoos and domestic cleaning products. I love good ol local Aussie businesses and I hope to be a regular here. Bit of a fan of the chocolate covered liquorice. So how could I not drop in on the way past.... every time.

Yelp
I really hate these stores ... hate them for feeding my obsession with nuts ... hate that I can go in and pick up kilo's of the stuff. Hate that they stock a range of oil and vinegar for you to pour to your hearts content. From plain and flavoured almonds, to pistachios, to the sweetest cranberries and blueberries, mixed fruit, coconut, mango, chocolate covered everything, seeds, grains and oats, granola, spices and tea. The idea is to keep the stock in large white buckets and let the customer take as much (or as little) as they require. Moral of the story? This place rocks it so remember to bring your own containers (or use their brown paper bags) and just scoop till you're stuffed. Tip: I always get some dark chocolate covered blueberries for the drive home. You're welcome!!

Yelp
Sole Source is a great, cheap(er) way to stock up on loads of different nuts, dried fruits, beans/legumes and basic but also fancy grains and the like (think brown rice but also quinoa ,amaranth and Himalayan pink salt.) They have a pretty good selection of different flours, oils and miscellaneous items such as organic tamari, honey and washing liquids. For those among you who lean towards the paleo method of eating, it's a perfect way to stock up on tons of coconut oil (they don't have coconut aminos, I asked), coconut flour and sugar, among others. Bring your own containers for liquids, or you can buy them there, but they are slightly pricy. They also have candy bins if you've got little ones (or have a sweet tooth!)

Yelp
Great new shop that sells unpackaged bulk foods - nuts, dried fruit, teas, chocolates, grains, flour... you get the idea. Come on in and measure out exactly how much you need into a paper bag, weigh it yourself if you need to, no plastic packaging to throw away. Quite a good selection of organic, and conventional dry goods. Also some gluten and dairy free things too! There should be more of this kind of shopping I say!!!
