The Lumiares Hotel & Spa

This was my first stay at The Lumiares, but it won't be my last. The hotel is lovely, and the rooftop restaurant - Lumi - has absolutely amazing food, both at breakfast (we had breakfast included in our room rate) and at all other times during the day. Their signature cocktail for the month of October - the Pink October - was outstanding, and the views from the restaurant roof deck were fabulous.|The location couldn't be better. The funicular to take you up/down the hill to Av. Liberdade and the Rossio train station is literally across the street from the hotel. There are multiple Michelin-recommended restaurants within a 3 block radius, and the Lisbon Botanical Garden is an easy 20 minute walk away. The main park in Barrio Alto is also right across the street, and offers beautiful views of the city.|I was traveling with 2 other friends so we booked the 2 bedroom apartment (each bedroom had its own bath). The beds were comfortable and we were amazed that even though we were in the midst of a lively neighborhood (Barrio Alto) and were there on a party night (Halloween!) - the heavy wooden shutters in our room that blocked the windows kept the room completely quiet. We heard nothing from the street outside. |The apartment had a kitchenette with everything we could possibly ask for - dishes, glasses, silverware, a dishwasher, a mini fridge, a cooktop, pans - we could have easily cooked for ourselves, if we had wanted to.|But truly the best part of our experience there was the people. The hotel staff - from the front desk clerks to the housekeeping staff to everyone working at Lumi - were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure that we were happy and enjoying our stay. It was a level of customer service I haven't experienced in a long time, and we really appreciated it. This is a special place.

We had the most wonderful stay at this fabulous hotel. Luxurious and beautiful with every detail thoughtfully designed to make the most of the space. Our comfortably sized room had a functional, full kitchen complete with lovely porcelain mugs, plates and cooking utensils, and is decorated with colorful Portuguese textiles. Perfectly located in Bairro Alto, making it very walkable to all of old town. The rooftop restaurant, with breathtaking views, and the luxurious spa added to the charm of the hotel for us. The best part of our stay though was the gracious and accommodating staff. They literally went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to have a pleasant stay. We have fallen in love with Lisbon and this lovely hotel. We can't wait to stay again!

Amazing in every way. Location in Bairro Alto is perfect, with direct access to all the Lisbon highlights. We stayed in room 3M for 2 nights and returned to 3L (suite) for 1 night later in the week. Both rooms faced the main street of Sao Pedro de Alcantara so we had epic views of the city. Noise was not an issue at all. The windows and doors are well insulated and we slept incredibly well, also thanks to the plush and cozy beds and pillows. Breakfasts in the restaurant were fantastic. Happy hour equally amazing. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Lisbon.

The Lumiares was absolutely fabulous. Hotel is clean and room was great, staff is superb, and the rooftop is stunning. It’s also is a great location to be out and about in Lisbon. Celebrated a birthday here and they even acknowledged that! Cannot say enough about the hotel staff. Every interaction from check in to check out was above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Lovely hotel and staff. We had a two bedroom apartment on the top floor and the room really was exceptional. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Special note to Beatrix who works in Lumi, the rooftop terrace restaurant. Make a reservation for Lumi as it’s generally busy but well worth it for the food and the view. Located in Barrio Alto it’s on top of a hill so bring comfortable footwear. My wife had a spa treatment and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The hotel was incredible. We stayed in a beautiful apartment that was a 2 bedroom two bath. The breakfast staff and rooftop staff, housekeeping staff, front desk staff is absolutely incredible. They all go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. They were helpful on every level and constantly provided us with great information for us to enjoy Portugal and regarding the accommodations of the hotel. We loved, loved, loved this hotel!!!!

Lovely hotel in the middle of the Lisbon bustle in the Barrio Alto/Chiado neighborhood. The location is superb - right in the middle of things, but surprisingly quiet. We had a two bedroom apartment for a family of four and the accommodations were excellent. Stylishly and comfortably decorated, really excellent service (unlike many supposedly five star hotels, they provided a full turndown service each night even though we were in and out at random times) and superb breakfast in a fantastic rooftop setting with views across Lisbon harbor (you could almost skip lunch with the breakfast on offer).

Absolutely love the hotel size and location and the hospitality is superb. We stayed at two room suite and got upgraded to the attic which has a small balcony overlooking the neighbourhood view. Since it is a small luxury hotel, the small spa facility and the treatment is nothing extraordinary with the price. Just include breakfast choice if possible cause the view on rooftop LUMI restaurant is stunning and food quality is good too. I do feel a holiday vibe. All staff are vibrant and helpful.
