The Hive North Shore and Hive Yoga

Solid bouldering gym. I live in Van but drive out to this location as it's a much better facility than the Van location. Good weight lifting equipment, system boards, traverse wall. Lots of training opportunities.

This is an awesome space for climbing and training. It even has a really nice lounge area, which is perfect for getting some computer work done. So you can technically work and climb the whole day :) The Yoga studio is quite under-rated in my opinion, because it’s so spacious and beautiful , with natural lighting!! Overall a really solid place!

Fun sets. Front counter staff is nice. Sometimes kids are not being monitored closely in classes and instructors are letting them do whatever they want on the mats (kind of dangerous). Ventilation is not great and not much chalk air cloud control in here. It would be great if staff could monitor and remind people from clapping their chalk into the air. Edit: Space is way safer now. Seems like kids aren't trying to complete as many problems as they can in a limited time frame when I go now.

Pretty big place with lots of things to do. Took a Functional Strength and Mobility class with Jason (he was really good) + did some bouldering afterwards. It was mostly a young crowd vibe when I was there. Note that there is no wall climbing available at this location.

First time bouldering! It was a fun experience, the staff are well educated and ready to help. It provides you with gym facilities for upper body work, yoga studio, and a little space for retail.

Visited total of 3 hive gyms in my trip and this location was my favourite. The style was very flowy and emphasized tension. Enjoyable climbs!! The workout area was amazing, wish I could have spent more time on the boards.

Somewhat dissapointing experience. Most of the gym looks nice, loads of large spaces and good gym section (often neglected in climbing gyms). However, the problems are boring and few, there are easy 'ladders' and harder 'ladders'. They dont feel like problems, more like exercise challenges. The place was ridicioulusly overcrowded but not due to limitation of space but due to silly design. The mats are way too large taking up too much space and problems are put quite sparsely, hence compared to the size of the gym there isnt that much to do (if one is looking for appropriately challenging problems). Compared to the entrance fee (I think it was around 30-35 CAD) its almost weird that they set problems with the cheapest set of holds, not much of interesting, new designs. All in all, worst problem seting I have seen in North America (out of 4 gyms I have been to tbf).
