"The Cellar, Flatiron by Anti/Anti. Cheesy. Both in the sense that it chases that “speakeasy” vibe, and in that they serve really yummy cheese dishes. Nice place to head over for a cocktail and some cheese, if that’s your thing."

Loved the atmosphere! Dark and personal, yet still fun. The food was great, even though it's not really "The World's Best" Mac And Cheese. It was really good though. The cheese sampler was awesome! The waiter was fun and friendly although slightly overwhelmed since it was a Friday night.

The food is awesome but be ready to eat a lot of cheese, it’s part of every dish. Would recommend more for happy hour and snacks vs a full dinner. But you can definitely get a full meal if you want. Both the Mac and Cheese and meatballs are ‘top notch’.

Nice place for various size groups, I would recommend calling for availability. Mac n cheese is good as is the cheese plates. Beer selection is small, but they have a decent size selection of wine. They also have pretty decent cocktails, my wife and I shared a summer saffron cocktail (might be seasonal) that taste amazing. Their happy hour has pretty decent prices for union sq/flat iron area.

We stopped here for a few drinks while exploring the town. The bar/restaurant was downstairs. They had a really cool cheese shop when you walk in, all of them made in house, many of them I haven't heard of! The drinks were good and reasonably priced. If we had more time we would have definitely tried some food or cheese, but we were in a hurry. Overall, cool spot and not swarming with tourists. Oh and the receipts came on a sweet looking board haha.

The Cellar is a perfect winter time wine bar to hang out with your friends and enjoy some cheese and good wine or a cold winter evening. On a Sunday evening at around 3:45 pm, this place wasn't crowded, had plenty of seating and was pleasantly quiet! We ordered a cheese plate, a bottle of Malbec and had a great time at this extremely cozy place. Service was excellent.

The Cellar was amazing! Even though we knew what we wanted to get before going to the restaurant, our waitress was very helpful by telling us details about her fav picks from what we chose. The Burrata was my wife's favorite and it's sooo Good! It had a sweet goose berry jam accompanying it that you spread on a piece of bread and it went together beautifully. So simple and had excellent flavor. The Ricotta toast was my favorite! It had artichoke, roasted peppers with a bit of spice to it but was all balanced out with the ricotta which was spread on a perfectly toasted piece of bread. It wasn't too crunchy where you'd cut up your mouth and want soggy, it was just right. Loved it! The pork tenderloin was so tender and juicy and had good flavor to it. It tasted like it had a mediterranean feel to it and almost reminded me of a lamb kebob. The lobster Mac and cheese was excellent. Good amount of lobster in it, creamy cheesey covered noodles inside with a golden brown crust to top it off. I would suggest it if you wanted a fancier Mac and cheese for dinner. Me and my wife will definitely go back again as the food at The Cellar is top notch.

Bottles of wine are half price on Mondays, so it gets busy. Best to book. We used Google booking and it was a breeze. A great selection of cheese. The Cellar is in the basement of a cheese factory so you really feel like you're in a wine cellar. Very attentive staff. Clean restrooms (unisex) with upmarket hand soap. The bill came to about $180 for 2 people, 2 bottles of wine (on a Monday evening), entrees and 2 cheese platters to share (selection of 5 cheeses per platter with breads, crackers and condiments). We'll become regulars. A great find!

Great date or get together spot - good ambiance without being too loud, food choices for everyone, and central location. Been here with a large group and small group, and both times didn't have an issue with being seated in a timely manner. If you're a mac and cheese lover, def get the sampler that comes with 3 choices (my personal fave is the prosciutto and peas). Service has always been great in my experience.
