Thai Kun is a lively spot in the Domain where you can dive into bold, authentic Thai flavors and creative cocktails from the East Side King team.
"Originally a food truck, known for serving 'O.G. Thai' cuisine. Closed due to rent issues and market challenges." - Brittany Britto Garley
"We cried the first time we tried the papaya salad at Thai Kun. That’s not some sappy statement about the transformative power of food. It’s just that spicy. But we keep going back for that balanced punch of lime, fish sauce, and tart, shredded papaya that makes us forget that we’re at a small restaurant in the middle of a row of rowdy bars at The Domain. They apply that same punch to all the Thai classics on the menu, from the crispy and tart tamarind chili wings to the whole grilled ribeye served with fiery nam jim jaew. " - nicolai mccrary
"The first time we tried the papaya salad at Thai Kun, we cried. That’s not some sappy statement about the transformative power of food. It’s just that spicy. Despite our internal fight-or-flight response, we kept going back for more, because along with that heat was the tart shredded green papaya and the intense punch of lime and fish sauce. That same approach to flavors, boldness, and balance makes its way across the entire menu at Thai Kun, and it’s why we’re willing to battle for a parking spot at The Domain to get it. The dining room—with lots of comfy booths and quirky, hand-painted murals—also makes for a pretty nice escape from that busy shopping center outside, too." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

"There are a lot of great spots to grab a bite if you happen to already be at The Domain, but Thai Kun is one of the few restaurants that we’ll gladly make a dedicated trip for. Sure, you’ll find classics on the menu like a sweet and sticky pad thai, or an excellent crab fried rice that’s almost more crab than rice, but those are just accessories to the more adventurous stars of the show. The slow roasted short rib panang curry is almost as rich and savory as it is spicy, the papaya salad is about as fiery as it can get, and rotating specials like a large format ribeye—served with a spicy, fish sauce-y nam jim jaew—will have you throwing out any bottles of A1 left in your fridge.
