"Known to regulars simply as Spaccio; a 16,000-square-foot commissary and café, it sells everything from picnic-ready panini to Nicola Fasano ceramics from Puglia."

Google
Great place for coffee or brunch. Their americanos and lattes are very tasty. The baked goods were so good, I would go back everyday for these! Their brunch menu is also delicious, and left us feeling good instead of absolutely full. You could taste the quality of the olive oil on the toast too. The atmosphere and music were nice, I love a good italian song! You could see the chefs working on your food in the kitchen, was fun to watch!

Google
We spot this place because we were visiting Riverdale Park. This is an amazing place for very tradition Italian food. They make pasta fresh inside the restaurant which actually is a food processing factory. They have retail store for Italian dishes ingredient. The best pizza I have ever get in Toronto.

I recently visited Spaccio, and overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The Italian food was absolutely phenomenal, with the seafood pasta standing out as a perfect 10/10. Each dish we tried was full of flavor, expertly prepared, and truly captured the essence of Italian cuisine. Our server, Sebastian, was a standout—his service was top-notch, attentive, and friendly, making the meal even more enjoyable. However, my experience was slightly marred by the hostess, Maria. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty when we arrived during a non-busy time, we didn’t feel particularly welcomed. Maria was somewhat indifferent, and even when we left, she made no effort to say goodbye or acknowledge us in any way. This was a bit disappointing, especially considering her role at the front of the restaurant, where she interacts with every guest. First impressions matter, and as the first person customers encounter, the hostess sets the tone for the entire dining experience. It’s important for all guests to feel valued from the moment they walk in, and unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. That said, I hope Spaccio takes note of this and works to ensure that all guests are treated with warmth and courtesy. The food and service from our waiter were exceptional, and I believe with some attention to the front-of-house experience, Spaccio could be an even more outstanding dining destination.

Atmosphere was great. Now for the food review. Our family order pizzas, pasta and calamari app. Pizza was on the salty side, linguine pasta dish came out cold. Kitchen prepare a new one and it a was much better. Calamari portion small and didn’t come with the traditional dips and lemon. I’m not rushing back but if convenient and necessary I would go back.

Stopped by after a gig in the area and had a delicious meal with a buddy of mine while sitting at the bar. He copped the burger (which he enjoyed) while got the fritto misto and the cacio e pepe. Not sure if it was because I was hungry from work or if it was the beers we downed, but the items I got were fuego! 🔥 Will be back and will be bringing the wifey next time. A very good 8.1 rating. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot

Google
We came across this gem by complete accident and am incredibly happy we did! You can tell the pasta is made fresh in house. Everything we ordered turned out amazing. Their bakery and deli has a lot of great variety as well to take home with you. Only negative is that we don’t have one of these back where I’m from; I would come here all the time if we did.

If your debating on coming to this restaurant or another COME TO THIS ONE!! This is the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to. The food is freshly made and cooked right in front of you. Once you get your food and try it you taste how fresh and the authentic flavour of the dish. I highly recommend getting the calamari as an entrée it’s extremely flavourful and is cooked perfectly so you don’t have to fight and bite it. If you are a pizza and pasta lover pls pls pls come to Terroni🩷🩷🍝

Google
the food is great (although the options are limited) good drinks and the affogato was amazing. they have a really nice wine collection. picked up some pesto and their in-house pasta, makes for a perfect lazy night dinner!

Yelp
Great neighbourhood joint for easy Italian fare. Went on a Friday evening with no issues getting in, hostess was super friendly. We ordered a few cocktails and a bottle of wine. The place is quite large, so it could be a whole before the waiters get to you. The cocktails tasted a bit weak but their wine selection was great. The food was fantastic, the octopus crudo was delicious, although quite small. The star of the night was the eggplant Parmesan! Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice date night or casual dinner with friends

Yelp
December birthday celebration. We walked in without reservations and were able to get a table. Just before the dinner rush before 5pm. And the place filled up quickly. massive open-concept central kitchen, a caffe', and a market. You can eat and drink in their two-floor dining space or patio (summer) and watch (and smell) the live show in the kitchen as the bread comes out of the oven and artisans handmade pasta and pastry. The service was ok. Pasta was decent. Altho I like terroni locations better. We wanted the Pantone but was sadly denied because they just finished baking it.

Yelp
The space was incredible - a well stocked, fresh, Italian market/deli with a ton of hip seating. We sat on the mezzanine and were able to look into the back of the market. The food was authentic and delicious. We had a wood fired pizza, and actually ordered one to go as well. We started with arancini and calamari. The arancini was crispy, and filled with delicious risotto. The calamari was crispy and fresh, and the lemons added a nice zest. We asked for a sauce to dip them in, but was told that wasn't the authentic way and it was "impossible." We felt that was a bit dramatic, but the calamari was delightful regardless! We finished with the pistachio cake - which was warm and melty like a lava cake and came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cake was almost savory and paired well with the ice cream.

Yelp
The Terroni family of restaurants and food stores is a taste of Italy done right. I always find something satisfying, indeed inspiring, when I eat at a Terroni establishment. Last night, this was exceptionally true because of the ravioli brasato at Spaccio East. It was an "O my God" moment when that braised beef hit my palate after biting into the firm but supple pillow of homemade pasta. The beef filling was simultaneously smokey, soft, velvety, and intensely flavourful. Now, I dream of ravioli brasato and sleep with a sublime smile. Grazie Terroni.

Yelp
Cute concept restaurant that has two floors, top floor overlooking the kitchen/ work area! It's a huge space as I believe they are the production center of all the terronis in Toronto - sauce, pastas, pizzas you name it. When you walk in, there's a small market/ prepared foods area to your right. To the left is the restaurant which has two floors. We were seated on the second floor by the railing and it was such a cool experience to see the chefs hard at work and production line working away. Imagine fresh breads, pasta and pizza all coming out of the hot ovens - YUM! Our server was great and super friendly. We got a latte and mimosa to start. Followed by a mushroom pizza and french toast. The mushroom pizza was so delicious and great for sharing. The french toast as sweet and impeccable with such a great presentation - too pretty to eat! It was nice coming early in the morning right at opening before a crowd started. Check it out as the space is pretty cool!

Yelp
Terroni is a fantastic family of restaurants. The concept is simply Italian food, well executed. This location is no exception. The food is excellent and the service is great. This location is somewhat unique. It's a restaurant and a storefront for take-away gourmet food, with the restaurant located inside the production facility. The problem is that it's not exactly a great ambiance to sit inside the production facility. The restaurant is overtop the facility, with a somewhat unsightly view of the storage area. You are probably better off sitting outside on the patio, even if it gets busy and you'd be surrounded by construction. I have another complaint. Even through the storefront is very nice with lots of nice offerings, the staff is not well trained. Case and point, they have a very nice selection of freshly baked breads. So, I asked for a rye bread. But the lady didn't know what rye bread is. So I spelled it out, and still she didn't know what it was. No worries, it happens. So she calls a second staff, and they don't know what rye bread is either. No worries. They call a third, but alas, the third person did not know what rye bread is either. Lol. It was a bit comical for a bakery. I ended up getting the sour dough which was very good indeed. The prices for the take-away food are on the high price, but it's somewhat expected. Here's what we got for brunch: 1. Avo toast (with poached egg on top) - very nice. 2. Margherita pizza - excellent. 3. Omelette - very nice and fluffy, but small portion. 4. Farmer's breakfast - this wasn't very good. The sausage was dense, and tasted off. However, the shiitake mushroom were delicious. Anyways, in all I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Pasta wasn't that good... I'm sorry. Cappuccino was really good. Love the place, love the vibe, really good service, and the grab and go market downstairs is great. I found a couple of little stones in my pasta too. Had to add salt to make it have any taste at all... I did get one of their features, so maybe their regular stuff is better. All I know is that I've had better. Way better... pasta than that.

Yelp
Love this place! For eating there or grabbing some nice food to take home including wines! They have a lovely little patio during the summer. Do a brunch on the weekends. Menu is varied and they have wonderful baked goods and coffee. (Croissants, bomboloni's, cannoli, and more). Pastas are fantastic and I do love their tuna salad. You can also get egg dishes during brunch hours. Parking is a challenge as currently (Sept 2022) they are doing a lot of construction in that area and street parking is at a premium. Easy drop off from nearby streetcars.

Yelp
Food was decent. I came here for Valentine's Day celebration with my boyfriend. We ordered the calamari, carpaccio, truffle pasta and my boyfriends ( forgot what it's called). The calamari was good as well as the carpaccio. Truffle Pasta was good and they were chunks of truffles on top which was nice. My boyfriend pasta however was disappointing, there wasn't much taste and his pasta was cold by the time I got a bite which is literally like 2 mins after it was served. For dessert I ordered the tortino which was basically a lava cake , took 20mins to make and serve which was just ok. Nothing special. Service was good and they accommodated my boyfriend and I which when we wanted to sit somewhere else instead of being squished between two other tables in the long chair seating.

Yelp
Ate here for a late lunch on the patio again yesterday. Once again I am impressed with the quality of the food. Afterwards we went in to the little grocery section and I ordered some bobbollino's. They have a great selection of imported Italian wines I have not seen at the liquor stores along with Italian delicacies including frozen pizzas made in house.

Yelp
I was there for their Maritozzo - I have been looking for a "good" Maritozzo, and a couple of trusted foodies recommended here. Yes, I finally met what I was looking for here! A super soft, light, bouncy, and glossy brioche-style bun is nicely sweet with a hint of honey. It is split in the middle, and the absurd(?) amount of sweetened whipped cream is filled in between. The cream is super light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. The cream and the airly bun melted like a marshmallow in the mouth in 5 seconds! I could eat 2 more of this, seriously. It is very light! Sooo delicate ... loved it. Also bought sourdough bread. It had the right amount of natural tanginess and was airy and chewy. The other taste compounds, like bitter, salty, and sweet harmonized nicely. One of the best sourdough loaves of bread that I have bought. Their grocery store had a good selection of Italian traditional gourmet products: pasta, olive oil, sweets, pizzas appetizers, and much more. It is on the quiet hidden street of the area, and there is a good number of street parking spaces in front of the store.

Yelp
Stop what you're doing and listen up, because I've got a hot tip for you: Terroni Sud Forno Produzione e Spaccio is the real deal. After being a mega-fan of Sud Forno on Yonge and Terroni Restaurant, I had to see if this place lived up to the hype. And boy, did it ever. The day I went, it was busier than a one-armed paper hanger, and there was a wine and cheese sampling happening. So, basically, it was a party in my mouth. I chowed down on a fried calzone, bombolone, and croissants, and I swear I could taste Italy. But that's not even the best part. why did i not take any photos!!!??? Why?? I was just toooo overwhelmed and was enjoying my conversations! The owner and his architect were there, and we had a chat that was more enjoyable than watching paint dry. I mean, these guys made time for us like we were long-lost cousins or something. And let me tell you, people who are that friendly are as rare as a unicorn riding a bicycle. And if that's not enough to convince you, listen to this: I grabbed a seasonal Easter cake that was a chocolatey ginger cake with orange. I don't even like ginger, but this cake was so good, it could make a grown man cry. So, if you want to taste the real deal, and you don't mind feeling like a sardine in a can, head on over to Terroni Sud Forno Produzione e Spaccio. You won't regret it, I promise.

Yelp
I've ordered from, and been to this location, over 10 times. I love the rapini that they sent for delivery, but when you buy it prepackaged its way oiler, and it also contains kale so it's not quite the same. Otherwise, all the prepackaged fresh pastas and raviolis in particular are absolutely delicious and they have several sauces that you can pair with them. I like the arugula pesto myself. The wine choice is amazing and arranged by region, so I was happy to see three Amarone choices. What really surprised me in an awesome way was the zucchini and mushroom quiche. I went on a kick and ordered quiche from Mark McEwen's place along with every French boulangerie, and I was so utterly disappointed in each one until I met the offering from Terroni, which was 100% perfectly spectacular -- the seasoning, the cheese, not too eggy -- just a perfect consistency and flavour. The only thing that disappoints here are the desserts which I find a bit boring, but everything else is superb with so much more choice than you can ever imagine.

Yelp
Was walking around downtown and saw this location so we decided to give it a try. Inside is not only the restaurant, but also has a store side that sells prepared foods and also grocery items. To start we have the Carpaccio di Manzo - this was yummy. The meat was quite tender and tasty. Shishito Peppers - This was also good. Rigatoni Amatriciana: This was just OK. I had just seen this and how to make on 'Stanley Tucci doing Italy' so was excited to try. This had a lot of tomato sauce - too much. It overpowered the other guanciale. Ravioli with Ricotta & Spinach - this was nice and light. This was good - well balance between the ravioli and sauce. Ravioli al Brasato - (Braised beef) - It was alright. Serving portions are good. Service was minimal. After taking and bringing our order, the server was missing. We visited the shop after the meal. It has a lot of interesting things for sale.

Yelp
A neighbourhood gem that sells Italian food products, ranging from lots of wine, pasta, sauces and jams, grocery, pastries, desserts. You can order their specials of the day, and the have a drink menu you can order from. If you want pre-made meals, they have it too. Everything is in Italian, so it can be daunting. Or you can look at it as though you have entered a shop in Italy. The only thing I think the shop can improve on is the level of their service. The staff there were very serious. They were not very friendly. And when I asked one of the staff a question, he said he would go find the answer, but he did not return. You win some, you lose some, I guess.

Xander G.

Yelp
One of east-downtown's hidden gems! This is the prep kitchen for Terroni & Sud Forno, so if you've been to either of those spots you're in for a similarly well-envisioned experience. We came for brunch and got the ravioli and collezione brunch option (sausage, bacon, mushrooms, eggs & toast), both of which were hits. There are two floors of seating- I recommend the second level, which has unique views of the entire space's kitchen. Expansive to say the least. They've also got a take-out spot where they sell niche groceries and ready-made sandwiches, which have been a hit in past visits. Heavy recommend.

Jess L.

Yelp
Great quality everytime we go! The last run was for a sandwich, sourdough, fresh lasganas and frozen pizzas.

Chuan C.

Yelp
This is a grocery store and caffe specializing in Italian food and drinks. It opened Apr 2020. In May it wasn't that busy so there was no lineup outside. They sell fresh and frozen pasta, pastries, cured meats, prepared sandwiches, large selection of Italian wines. Some pasta are hand made. So far I've only eaten their pastries they are are quite delicious. They have hand sanitizers. Staff wear face masks and they have plexiglass.

W. G.

Yelp
A lovely evening out at Spaccio! If you're a fan of the original Terroni restaurants the 2 locations are their bakery and pantry outposts where most of their products are made in house. I'm so glad I live nearby this location as I frequently come here to purchase their freshly made bakery and pantry items and stock up on my fav dishes, condiments, fresh produce and so much more! I enjoyed a lovely dinner with some amazing company tonight! It's been too long! They have many of the same menu options from Terroni including some of my fav dishes seen here - The funghi assoluti and the grilled octopus! Delicious! They have a great selection of wine and house cocktails, although not my fav Paloma - They do make a pretty solid #old fashioned though! TY for the lovely hospitality as always!

Andrei A.

Yelp
We had a Regina pizza ($23) and a Mancu Li Cani pizza ($23). Both were good. Regina pizza with fresh mozzarella and prosciutto was worth the $$. I wish it came with burrata cheese instead of mozzarella, but that would probably translate to a $27-$30 pizza. Overall, we had a nice lunch on their patio. For dessert, I recommend panna cotta with coffee.

Denise P.

Yelp
I'm in love with this pistachio gelato bar- it is refreshing, delectable and oh so rich! I usually just take a few bites off my desserts but finished this one completely! If you go and visit please ensure you grab some of their seasonal items such as the strawberry gelato which is also amazing!

Aldo P.

Yelp
Polpette were dry Sauce ok not great flavour Braised beef ravioli undercooked. Should have sent them back Service not attentive. Forgot to bring bread to table Jaz musicians on site we're great unexpected

Ally L.

Yelp
Terroni is kind of 'the bar' for me for Italian restaurants in the city. This location is on the smaller side so better to call ahead if you're a large group. The grab-and-go pastry, wine, and pre-prepared food shop is extensive! I've bought their frozen croissants before & made them in a literal toaster oven after a half-assed proof and they still came out still looking & tasting impressive.

Klancy D.

Yelp
I found this dining experience left me a bit cold. First of all the menu. I have an experienced palate and don't appreciate the "we don't make exceptions to the listed menu" attitude. I like cream with my coffee and was told they don't serve cream with coffe, I said you must have cream in the kitchen - "Well yes but we don't serve it with coffee. OK I had it with milk - tasted like crap. Out comes the tagliatelle with bolognese sauce - the smell was very reminiscent of a bad childhood memory - opening a can of Chef Boyardi Totally gross I wanted a green salad with it but apparently that is also on this list of "stuff we are not letting you have" It was a dismal experience all round I might have tolerated the snobbish food behaviour if the food was good (after all the French have gotten away with it for years)

Sarah S.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing and generous portions for the slice, it's like two piece of the most delicious crust, love the potato, onion, Gorgonzola one best. Bread is excellent as well. Only draw back is slightly expensive.

Agnes W.

Yelp
In love with the pistachio gelato! I've gotten it a couple times already and it keeps me coming back. So creamy, so delicious. Would highly recommend to any pistachio loving friend or to any friend to be honest. The place is stocked with fresh pasta and prepared foods, as well as pastries and wine. You can find a ton of things here to take home and have an amazing Italian meal. Would visit this place more often, but I don't live in the area. Good thing, because I'd probably spend way too much!

Ed P.

Yelp
If I live close by I would be weighing 1000lbs. Everything is soooo good!! Fresh pasta and pasta sauces, breads, everything.

Robert I.

Yelp
Very good. Had an outdoor dining experience which was delightful. The food was tasty, the service was good. The sommelier helped us choose a nice wine in the store, we even bought a couple of bottles. Tried to buy a loaf of bread, but someone else took it. Will be back again.

Az S.

Yelp
Visited around 11:15 am on Saturday in October 2020. Around 4 people were waiting in a line, but it didn't take much time to enter. The shop space is small but packed with beautiful fresh food and products. I tried a fruit frangipane slice ($3.5). It was very fresh and fruity. Also, the size was satisfying.

Charlotte J.

Yelp
Good coffee, pastries and fresh pasta. The ladies at the cash were so pleasant and one even complemented my tattoo. Terrible management though. The big man in charge yesterday, Alessandro I believe, gave my daughter such a hard time regarding the fact that she doesn't wear a mask. She has a medical exception due to her oxygen level normally runs low at 85 but lowers even more significantly with a face covering. She told him about her exception and schooled him on the laws. He wasn't interested. I went in to pick up a couple more croissants and asked to speak with him. I showed him the applicable laws on my phone and pointed out that unless he was able to bring outside a whole tray of all the various pastries for us to choose from, then we were allowed to come into the store, with or without masks. He claimed that it was Terroni's policy, as a high end specialty store, that they could refuse. I saw that he wasn't going to relent and left after saying that I would follow up on Yelp. The server also made me hide Charlie as he stated Terroni's policy was no dogs on the patio. That law was changed over a year ago allowing dogs on patios. Geez.

Veronika M.

Yelp
We went for a walk today and dropped into to grab a cappuccino and all our 3 cappuccinos were cold. Really disappointed.

Robert C.

Yelp
Lovely space and nice foods. Gelato is great and nice wine selection that you can't find in the LCBO. Pizza is very good too. Great place to visit if passing though Corktown. My only beef is that they can be a bit inattentive. The counter where you can buy fresh pasta and breads is not well monitored. You can stand there for up to 10 minutes making eye contact with staff. You may have to go looking for someone inspite of the very small space. I recommend that you get a little bell so that people who want service can signal rather than trying to make contact other ways. Has happened a few times but otherwise a lovely addition to the neighbourhood.
