Yelp
This review hurts to write. I had a business meeting here two years ago, and TBBC was so awesome, I brought my wife and her best friend and husband here when they flew in from California to visit us; literally straight from the airport. Both time services was great and the food was outstanding. I used to work at a winery, so being in a working brewery, with all the smells, felt like home. Unfortunately, yesterday, the meal was a complete miss, with one exception. For context, I will say, the menu was new, to me, and they had some new items on a separate sheet. It was also packed for 2 pm on a Saturday. Let's get service out of the way. It took about 10 minutes for our waiter to get to us. Again, it was busy. He did not come around to our table much, but when he did, he noticed we weren't happy and got the manager. The manager did what he could to help us, and ended up talking one of our items off the bill. The service, while not attentive, showed good effort and a strong desire to make sure the customer was happy. This is the main reason the rating wasn't lower. Atmosphere was still great. Food. Let's get to the good. The beer soup was really, really good. Highly recommend. That is it. The cheese and beer dip was ok, but the "ciabatta", unlike any ciabatta bread I have ever had, was dry and stale. The really, really disappointing part of the meal was the chopped salad, which my wife and I both got. I specifically wanted to go to TBBC to get one of their salads. We walked passed by several restaurants to go to TBBC because I loved their salads. My favorite salad was no longer on the menu, what a shame. The chopped salad was supposed to be on romaine. The lettuce mix included shaved carrots and cabbage. Makes me wonder if they used a bag mixed. I would not have gotten the salad if I knew about the cabbage. Let's talk chicken. Imagine a delicious, well seasoned grilled chicken breast. The chicken on the salad was anything but that. It was supposed to be grilled. Nope, it was pan fried. The manager thought it was grilled. Nope, I ran a BBQ competition for years, I know what grilled meat looks like. This was pan friend. Actually, not a big deal, except is has ZERO seasoning, not even salt and pepper. One of the most bland pieces of chicken I have tasted in my life. How do you not put any salt and pepper on a piece of meet if you are a professional chef. Lastly, there was a really strange flavor in the salad. It was a warm spice, like cumin or colander, and did not belong in the salad. It was so strong, my wife could smell it and couldn't finish the salad.
Overall, TBBC is a fun place that has had great food 2 out of the 3 times we have been. This time was so underwhelming, it is hard to imagine going back. Maybe it was the new menu, maybe it was how crowded it was, though that should be expected on a weekend, but this time was a real miss. Sorry to say, I can't recommend TBBC anymore.
