I have a build that is challenging and requires expert tailoring, so I've been getting custom suits for years. During my first consultation with the team at Sydney's it was evident that they were experts, professionals, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Given the challenges my physique presents, Sydney had committed himself to my suit, which was when I knew I was in the right spot. Sydney is surrounded by a fantastic team who incredible to work with over the few months process. I really enjoyed my time spent there, they were very accommodating and pleasant to work with, thorough in their process, and provided great recommendations as well. My tuxedo came out perfect, truly the best that's ever been made for me to date. Also worth noting that I fully decked out in Sydneys, including their in-house Whole Cut Italian Leather shoes (couldn't believe how comofortable these were), Bowtie, Dress shirt, cufflinks, button studs, etc. It was nice to have it all in one spot, and feel truly taken care of. If you are looking for a very high quality, well-tailored suit or tux, with a fantastic customer experience, you can put your trust in the team here. I had a few custom shirts made here a few years back, which Sydney and Devora helped me with. Those shirts turned out great and the process was very enjoyable so I returned this year for a bespoke tux for my wedding. The whole process was very smooth and I felt that I was in capable hands the entire time. Devora, Sydney, Lawrence, and the rest of the staff were phenomenal. Their expertise was evident at each point in the process and they were very professional yet laid back and friendly. They guided me in crafting the perfect ensemble for my wedding day. Providing recommendations for pieces that could be found in store and elsewhere while not pushing me towards either. In the end the tux looked fantastic and the fit was perfect and natural. I’m very happy with how everything turned out. Looking forward to returning soon.

I am getting married in just over a month, and went to Sydney's with a pretty ridiculous ask about a month ago. I wanted a custom tailored suit similar to a 90's Armani oversized suit (that isn't really done anymore as far as off the rack goes). I waltzed into Sydney's without making an appointment or even calling beforehand, and everyone working there was so attentive and thoughtful in helping me decide between materials and patterns. Bear in mind I had left the task of getting my suit pretty much to the last minute that was possible due to the timeframe constraints of the manufacturing facilities. The lovely folks working there informed me that it would need to be sent out as a rush job (totally fine considering the circumstances). They gave me a fitting appointment an hour later, and when I returned Sydney was incredible. We chatted about what I wanted and he totally understood what I was going for. We talked about styling and he made sure to clarify what every choice I was making would end up looking like as the fit I wanted is a little eccentric. I just went for the last fitting yesterday and the suit came out EXACTLY as I wanted it. I'm absolutely thrilled with the result. I will certainly be sending some pictures of my wedding to the staff with an enormous thank-you. I really appreciated their ability to accommodate me at such short notice, and to follow it up with excellent customer service, support and beautiful final product. They told me that making the suit in this way was a lot of fun because they were able to get creative in new ways. I love when the folks helping me out, have a good time helping me out. Everyone was psyched about the process and final product. I will definitely return to Sydney's for any kind of bespoke tailoring needs in the future. 100/10 experience.

Sydney’s is great if you need a well tailored suit! Nicole helped my friend and I look for a suit that would work within our budget and timeline. She made us feel so comfortable, made the process smooth and simple, and answered all our questions. When we tried on our suits on we feel in love. Everything felt and fit right! You’re definitely paying more than other suit shops, but it’s worth it and I’m happy to support a local small business. Will definitely return if I need any more suits!

If there was a time to give 6 - stars this would definitely be it for me. When it came to selecting a tailor for my custom wedding suit I was very particular. I went to multiple store throughout Toronto small and large and selecting Sydney’s was a no brainer. From the impeccable customer service to impressive attention to detail, this place is truly special. I had a very specific image in my mind for what I wanted for my wedding suite and not only did Sydney and his team bring it to life but they surpassed my wildest expectations. Communication and organization was top notch and they were extremely flexible working with my schedule. Truly amazing experience. Thank you Sydney and team!

I came here first to find dressy shoes and felt no pressure with Sydney as he helped me find something that worked. A couple years later when I needed a wedding suit this shop was the one I trusted. My fiancée and I stopped by this shop looking to inquire about custom suits for our wedding next year. We had heard great things but we weren't prepared for our amazing experience. We learned that Sydney's is proudly Canadian, where most items sold in shop are Canadian made. The merchandising in the store is perfect - well laid out, not overwhelming with excessive bells and whistles with an old antique feel. Professionalism is usually top on my list when I walk into a high-end store and this shop exceeded my expectations. The staff were not only exceptionally knowledgable about their products, but they were all friendly and happy to help without at all feeling pushy which is a rare combination. And to top it off, we got to meet the owner in house. You could tell immediately that Sydney is down-to-earth and takes pride in his brand and wants his clients to leave happy and well dressed. We spent over an hour in there and truly enjoyed the experience. We can't wait to go back to order his suit in the winter. Thank you Nicole for all of your help.

Sydney's is where as a sugar momma I would take my beloveds to shop there! To dress them up in suits and jeans in those slim European style cutting. Nice selections of casual wears and suits that they will alternate to be fitted perfectly. The salesperson here are professional and well dressed! And I don't know why I kept smelling this pleasant scent while I was browsing the store... Price is on the expensive side.. but don't I want my beloveds be dressed like they are right out from the European GQ magzine! What caught my eyes is the cute little doggie in the hand knitted wool cardigan... hey even dogs are dressed so classy at Sydney's!

Hands down my favorite men's clothing boutique in Toronto. While most women dream of a super-sized closet full of Manolo Blanik and Christian Louboutin, a guy like me fantasizes about having a closet like Sydney's showroom. A wardrobe filled with beautifully designed, top quality and classic styling. I'm crazy about the design concept of the store. The simple white walls, copper ceiling and rustic display furniture allow the merchandise to speak for itself . Obviously the owner had carefully selected designer pieces that would amalgamate well with the in-store label, Kin. The store collections are all about simplicity and minimalism. Each design is like a piece of art with high craftsmanship. They look amazing on their own, and even better when injected with your individuality. Sydney's also has great selection of denim, like Naked and Famous, Them Altelier and Rick Owens. Along with a small selection of awesome looking shoes, bags and small leather goods. I bought a great looking in-house label suit. The owner/designer was terrific and helpful. He took the time to explain his design, the fabric, as well as the overall construction of the suit. He didn't stop there, he showed me how great the suit would look after alterations. "Look at that, I had no idea that a suit could make my backside looks this good." Sold! Wrap that baby up!

Just finished a too quick shopping trip to Sydney's on Queen St in Toronto. Suffice to say, the place is super special. The selection is elegant, comfortable and smart and the service is spot on. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful and Sydney himself was sure to come over and take measurements for accuracy. I grabbed a couple of pair of pants, but could have done more. Unfortunately had to run, but will absolutely be back as Sydney's could easily become my "go to" for fine top line clothes in Toronto.

Sydney and his staff made me a wonderful made-to-measure suit for a wedding I was going to in December. They made the process feel really easy and it was clear to see the care and attention they put into everything. Plus Sydney has a really cool personal style and that's evident with the pieces sold in the store. Even if you're not having a suit made up it's still definitely worth a look through. It'll be a way more interesting experience than just going to a generic chain menswear retailer.

Simply put, Best Suit I have ever owned. Even better shopping experience. Went to Sydney's to create a suit for my wedding. After having a few suits made by Large retailers - I was referred to Sydney's by a friend. I was immediately impressed. Dealing with Sydney and his staff was amazing. They were very friendly, didn't make you feel out of place, explained the entire process and was very honest in his recommendations. It started with the choice of fabrics, I explained the look i was going for and he guided me in the right direction. Then at the first measurement he explained the best way to create the suit in order for the suit to fit my body type. In the end the suit was perfect, I also got my Bow-tie custom ordered and matching suspenders and a pair of Allen Edmond's Shoes to complete the look. All in all I wouldn't look anywhere to get any suit you need made.

Wow. I am a guy who hates to shop, and to be honest, heading into a boutique is a lot intimidating for me. And some shops along this strip are pretty big on attitude. Sydneys rocks. great clothes, and I would argue great prices (compared to other exclusive shops). But even better, a no - attitude, truly helpful manner to help you look your best. I'm thin while I'm in the 905, but not thin for the 416 - and especially for Queen West West, surprisingly I could shop here too - I've worn and loved everything I bought here. But make no mistake, this is European sizing - if you can't shop at Zara, you won't be able to shop here. Did I mention the service here is amazing? Apparently some of their designs are being picked up for large fashion markets abroad...you can always get it here first for bragging rights.

I have been meaning to leave a review for this place for sometime now. Simply one of the best clothing buying experiences that I've had. Sydney took very good care of me, he is the man who both designs and sells the clothes. The clothing is thoughtfully designed and made primarily in Canada that is hard to beat. I lament that I am now in Vancouver and will only be able to go perhaps once a year. I cannot recommend the customer service enough!

This is my favorite clothing boutique and I am reviewing it mainly as a, umm, corrective to other reviews here. Sydney's is notable for several things: first it provides the elsewhere remarked upon custom jeans service, which while expensive, will leave you in possession of a beautiful for-life level of durable and totally *yours* pair of denim trousers. This is good service to have available in the city, even if it is not at the moment your particular bag. Likewise, I recently purchased a nice simple (relatively) cheap black suit here. While the trousers fit me perfectly, the suit itself needed a few adjustments, actually quite a bit more than I would have been comfortable with at any other tailor, but Sydney is a 'suit wizard' and for only around 85$ on top of the price of the suit I have a jacket that fits me perfectly. Besides the custom tailoring option, Sydney's has one of the most discriminating buyer's around, someone who every season provides a selection of clothes that embody some very important principles: they are modern, and i don't mean contemporary or 'hip', I mean, they embody ideas of modernism, they are sleek, often monochrome, with clean lines and a lack of excessive accoutrements. This is very important to me, and, I imagine, to a lot of other potential shoppers. I don't want clothing that will look out of date...well, ever. Look at a picture of Samuel Beckett in the 20's, or 30's, or 40's or...etc. Always sharp, always clean lines, never once would have looked unfashionable on a street in Toronto or NY today. Sydney's stocks these sorts of clothes.

Remember the old days when men went to stores and had suits tailored to their bodies and beautiful, brimmed bowlers handmade to fit...Neither do I. But I think Sydney does. Stepping into Sydney's tiny men's boutique on Queen St....I noticed the ancient Singer sewing machine on display and felt like any second Rock Hudson was going to walk up to me and my male companion to sell us some freshly cobbled shoes. But instead a 19 year old twink skipped towards us to push us into buying some ill-fitting shirts from his "favorite" line, Ben Sherman. The store does carry a discerning collection of (to speak euphemistically) slight-man's clothing but beware brawny-man this is not the store for you. I should mention, Sydney's specialty is handmade and made-to-measure jeans but if you are in a rush to get them, better rush to the nearest Jean Machine. I have a friend who has been waiting over a year for his.

Delighted to find this gem after a Google search for men's clothing in Toronto. Hands down best shopping experience I've had. Happily spent over an hour with excellent staff who gave me full attention in trying on multiple items that are all made in Canada. Sydney himself was in the store and he is a great guy, nice to see. I found some other stores to be a bit pretentious and uncomfortable but I couldn't have had a better experience shipping. The clothes are super high quality and fit well, not to mention at great prices. Definitely returning for a custom fit suit for my wedding, and more.

Went in here after seeing it listed consistently as one of the top men's clothing stores in Toronto, but was very disappointed in the selection. We were asked for help a few times, but a quick walk through the store failed to reveal anything even remotely interesting. Maybe this particular boutique just doesn't mesh with my sense of style. I had much better luck at Gotstyle at Bathurst & Wellington.

Sydney's is great. Customer service can't be beat. I bought 2 pairs of slim fitting cotton pants this past weekend. They were on sale and Sydney's still offered to hem them for no charge - amazing! I was a little worried when I picked them up.. They fit perfectly - stylishly short - but I was worried they would be too short if they shrink after washing. They offered to redo the hems right there & then. Same day service!! I felt like a jerk for causing them extra work but they jumped right to it and didn't make me feel like I was the bad guy. Class act!

I'm not a particularly good clothes shopper. I'm not sure a lot of guys are Never really knowing what's actually good, or good looking, and getting sucked into a a lot of bland places, I tend not to buy really interesting things. But then there's Sydney's. This place is great. The staff is friendly and helpful, and best of all the clothes are interesting. They really focus on imported denims and other fabrics from Japan and other places, but there's quite a bit of other things in the store. I've bought a couple pairs of jeans here, as well as a really nice shirt, which I was trying to find another one of today, but they won't have them in until next season. They will measure and tailor right to order, so now I'm picking up my new purchase next week. And I'm excited. The staff encouraged me to be a little out of my comfort zone, trying something that was a little different, but not so much that I'm going to change my style, just because a store sales person was trying to make the sale. I agree with the reviewer who said it's like an old-time store, but with great modern clothing. Definitely worth heading to if you want to find some great jeans or other things. There isn't a lot of colours here - mostly blacks and greys, but who needs other colours?

My favourite clothing shop in Toronto. Without Sydney's I would be forced to purchase all of my clothing online. They carry an ever-evolving array of designers that, although aesthetically different, all share the same values ... which is a clear understanding of the value of understatement. It's clear that Sydney also understands the finer points of men's clothing and the labels that he carries reflects this. The prices are comparable to what you would pay if you purchased the same clothing online or in NYC. I hope Sydney's is here to stay.

What makes this store great is Syd and his staff (Sabrina). Yes, the store aesthetic is nice and the stocklist is high quality (but maybe over-curated for my tastes), but the friendly staff is wonderful to work with. Syd has a very good eye for fit and style. Oh, and this is the best place to buy Naked and Famous Jeans.

Love Love Love Sydney's. I love the store design and all the vintage items especially the old school cash register. They have a great selection of jeans that my boyfriend and I love to go check out!! ,

They've got "cool" all figured out but sadly they haven't figured out "tailoring". I'll take my business elsewhere.

Sydney's is fantastic. Great taste, always has the coolest stuff and you'll find something there you can't find anywhere else. Approachable and knowledgeable staff. I have several amazing pieces that always get compliments when I wear them out. People always ask me "where'd you get that?" Yes it's not cheap but everything you get there is an investment you should own forever. AND their own line - United Stock Dry Goods is amazing. Best raw selvedge denim jeans and they're MADE IN CANADA and you can't beat the price on those.

Sydney's is by far the worst stores I have been to with the worst customer service. I was actually a big fan of the store before until this happened. One day my boyfriend bought a blazer by himself and the next weekend he brought me over to pick it up from the store. I wasn't too impressed with the blazer and in my opinion it didn't fit my boyfriend well. So I guess Sydney (the owner) overhead what i said (note: I never talked to him - I was talking to my boyfriend the whole time), and Sydney was like "i have no problem giving you a full refund.. i can sell this piece in any second". So after thinking about it for a while my bf decided to take a refund. That's when things went downhill. Sydney just started to point fingers at me and yelled "can you get the f*ck out of my store.. i have never seen anyone like you in my life... you piece of sh*t...I'm calling the cops and this is private property.. f*cking don't come back here ever". And i was so in shock so i left. But I swear to God, i didn't even talk to him or say anything disrespectful to him!!! in fact, I was just about to say he has really good customer service until he had his mental malfunction. I was only saying the BLAZER ITSELF didn't fit my bf, and the blazer was made by the designer JIL SANDER not SYDNEY. and plus, it is Sydney himself that OFFERED to give a full refund. I am writing this with nothing but good intention - if you are going to shop there, be prepared to be yelled at and get kicked out of the store if you dare to hold an opposite opinion than Sydney's!!
