We ordered Singapore fried ho fun noodles, Chicken rice in coconut milk, red bean shaved ice dessert. All tasted surprisingly authentic with generous amount of spices. Only downside was the skinny chicken my friend had. The service was good. The place was very clean. The bosses (senior elders) by the till were very friendly and kind. Will return again! Highly recommend to support local businesses like Sun Kwong Nan cafe. They are part of our HK history on Shanghai street! Entirely unjust to give them only 3.4 stars when same customers scored KFC or MacDonald for 5*

Surprised, I found a ca chaan teng in the middle of lights stores in mongkok. Then the menu, also i found not like normal HK ca chaan teng, so i try out of curiosity, and they did not dissepoint me. Their food mostly is Malaysian and Singaporean style food, with a bit mix of Western food (steaks, pasta & milk shakes) First, the place is not bad. Typical HK restaurant, with narrow seating and small table, I'm very sure during peak hours, we need share table with strangers. Second, their menu have English translations, which are very helpful for me. Third, the staff are nice, helpful, and patient when taking our order. I'm wondering, it might be because we are being charged 10% service, the staff is more attentive with customers. Fourth, most important is that their food are mostly nice for my taste, and the portion is generous, worth with their price. All in all, I'm happy to try them and will come back again.

Very old cha chaan teng (茶餐廳) in Mongkok also served typical Malay curry and satay. We tried the the Malay Set and also Spaghetti with strewed beef in tomato sauce. Price is very reasonable. If you are looking for some local and would like to experience old Hong Kong style cafe, you can give it a try. Chinese menu available.
