This is the best vintage shop in nyc, this shop is a real gem! I was in New York for a summer trip, I had many vintage stores to visit on my list but for sure this is the best with the best selection.

Google
Absolutely stunning. It’s like a Time Machine, being able to walk into a store and viewing historical garments for sale. From old time American flags, to dresses, gillets, and blazers. This place is very unique. For those interested as well there is a collection of old fabric as well. A must visit.

Google
Walked in with the fiancé to check it out. They have a big collection, but it’s only for woman. They did have vintage rugs and accessories. A large selection and staff was very nice.

Google
When I first came to New York this was a store I told everyone about and visited a lot. But as I went to more thrift stores I realized that Stella Dallas does tend to overprice things to make them seem nicer. Also the staff are most of the time indifferent, other times passive aggressive, playing into the vibe of a “higher end thrift store” whatever that is… still an interesting place to visit, but I’d suggest shopping at other places like L-train for more reasonably priced and equally, if not more, unique pieces.

Krystina

Google
The best thrift I’ve ever been to! Everything from clothes, linens, drapes, wool blankets, buttons and dead stock fabrics/lace. Went home with so many items, it was hard to choose. The staff is also very very nice!

Google
Unreal selection of clothing here. Fair prices for the taste level. You’re going to find something special here.

Google
Vintage gold mine. 💯💯💯 loves their collection of lace: bolero, dresses, shawls! Not enough time to soak in the beauty and intricacy of items. They even had headpieces. Perfect. One of my favorite stores ever.

Audrey S

Google
Beautiful store and concept. Wide range of clothing from linens to lace cotton dresses and silk/poly lingerie dresses and tops at $60-80 price points. The hanging dresses up top are a few hundred dollars or more :/

Yelp
Pretty decent and cute shop for thrifting! There's also two different stores right next to each other - one with home goods and rugs, the other with more clothes. I found some cute gems in here but not enough to justify me spending and buying the items. Went with my partner's cousin who came to visit from France, and he thoroughly enjoyed the selection and came out with some Chinos.

Yelp
Beautiful store, with amazing vintage textiles, rugs, dresses, etc. It's a one of a kind place. A lot of the items are expensive, but others are very reasonably priced. As a lover of vintage and deadstock fabric, you really can't beat the selection and curation of this store. The staff can definitely be cold at times.

Yelp
WOW - I've never been in a store like this before! Yes, I've seen plenty of vintage clothing stores - but not a vintage HOMEGOODS store. What makes Stella Dallas Living stand apart is all the rugs and blankets in the store. They also have a small selection of clothing, but I found their sister store next door had even more. I didn't look at the prices in detail since I'm just in town for work, but things did look expensive (minus 1 star). That said, I also felt that everything was well-curated. If I lived in the area and were looking to furnish a place, I'd definitely be back!

Yelp
Listen, these fucking turds who are talking bad about this place have no business buying vintage in the first place. If you antique and thrift all the time, it's hard to find a place this expansive and well curated. Go to Buffalo exchange you losers.

Lania G.

Yelp
I think people misunderstand this store a lot. They have vintage garments, but rare and more curated pieces (Victorian lace dresses, a row of classic trench coats, vintage scarfs). They are pricey but they know what they have, and if you are a creative/design person you will know. The one thing that stands out are the vintage textiles, THEY ARE AMAZING. I've spend hundreds there with vintage table clothes, Indian silk and cotton, antique wool blankets. Everything has a touch of beauty and nostalgia, they are carefully curated. Their textiles are pricey as well, but if you understand design, fibers, textile art, this will be your secret spot. I cherish everything I buy from this store.

Yelp
I bought this belt for $45 and didn't even get to wear it once because the buckle completely fell apart immediately. The store clerk couldn't even tell me what metal it was made of before I bought it. Complete rip off, don't waste your money. I saw stuff with blood stains on it.

Jenny L.

Yelp
I don't know why this place isn't rated better, this is such a unique place! It's so hard to find gems like this. Everything is well curated and theres tons of stuff; home goods, vintage fashions, accessories, miscellaneous items. The place has a warm and cozy vibe and everyone who works there is always so nice and chill. I can always find something and I can always be sure it'll be unique. My only complaint would be that I wish some of their stuff was more accessible. They have tons of gorgeous vintage pieces hanging above the lower racks, but its hard to really see whats up there; let alone see it well enough to ask someone to get it down for you. I just wish they were easier to browse or that they rotated what was above and what was below. Other than that, it's one of my favorite places to second-hand shop!

S L.

Yelp
REALLY cool rugs and home items. A lot are fairly overpriced ( some of the blankets and cushions) - I collect a lot of vintage items so I'm relatively informed on this matter. But it is Williamsburg, so I knew what I was getting in to. I did buy a few items. A wrap skirt, a tapestry, and a scarf. There's a lot of good items here. The loss of 2 stars is due to the asshole staff members. These two girls seemed completely annoyed to have to work whatsoever. They were busy having a feast of candy and pastries and seemed very bothered for me to pay for my items. When I tried to make small talk with them and ask them where they got their food, they were super rude. I've seen others remark on this in their reviews - clearly it's an issue. Probably time for them to go. It's a shame when a place has a nice selection of items and really seems to curate their image but then employs a staff with little or no respect for the business.

Yelp
I think Stella Dallas and sister store, 10 ft. Single are pretty incredible finds. Though I am not the type to shop at vintage, thrift shop-like stores (I don't know what it is, it just irks me that the items are not brand-spanking new. Also, I am not a Brooklynite, so I've already failed one criterion), it is still loads of fun just to peruse through both the fabrics store and the vintage clothing & accessories store which are located right next to each other. The collection at both Stella Dallas outposts are full of eclectic wonders. I did spy an amazing wool blanket at the fabrics store which was priced at a very reasonable $55 for such outstanding quality. I wanted it so bad, but I just could not bring myself to take the purchase plunge. I don't know if these used items are clean, I don't know how they have been cared for, and all that mystery makes me uncomfortable. However, I know my odd complex is someone's gain as some lucky person is sure to find said wool blanket (I really should have snapped a photo of it), and be blessed with a gorgeous home goods item. I mean, it was gorgeous! Stella Dallas Living & 10 ft. Single has truly amassed quite the arsenal of well-curated vintage items. The goods in both stores are mostly in fair to great condition, and if you are unperturbed with used goods, you are assured a blast not just browsing but actually buying some unique finds at both locations. (The jewelry selection however, is a bit wanting). I'm certain more photos will crop up on Yelp (I only took one in honor of my buddy Rich W. who is a big fan of men's suit vests), but in the meantime, I found these great images on Stella Dallas Living to help you get a sense of what you'll find at this store: (http://styledon.com/fashion/features/articles/stella-dallas-living-and-10-ft-single). 3.5 stars. Oh! And P.S. -- I saw a sign that says there is absolutely "NO HAGGLING" with regards to the prices in SDL.. they are totally serious about this one.

Rachel Y.

Yelp
the only highlight of this place is that I saw Jacob elordi here once lol. clothes are overpriced and owner is snooty. much better thrift/second hand stores in the area.

Jerrica J.

Yelp
This is the home goods side of Stella Dallas. The other side has actually changed their name to something else. Kind of confusing when you first walk in. I dont know if things are actually vintage or if its just really old in storage. Walked in here and none of the staff members even smile or pay attention to you. I didn't see anyone purchasing anything. More like come in, see how dusty it is, and leave. Everything is kind of misplaced and expensive!

Sean S.

Yelp
The sign on the store seems to look like the name of the place is actually 10 ft single, though I don't know what that means. When you're in the neighborhood & get that hankering for some shopping (no comment) then this will be an obvious place to stop. I mean what better place to find dresses? LOL Although I was accompanied by a lovely lady who really wanted to shop, the truth is when I got in the store I was surprised that they have a pretty good selection of mens stuff too. I did look around a bit, and dig through the hipster retro t-shirts ($25), funky but stylish hats, pants, even some French military T's which were kinda cool. Also the store was playing some decent house music, so for me that was a big plus. Beacons Closet eat your heart out!!

Salem B.

Yelp
Gorgeous pieces here. A tad expensive but you can tell that it's the real deal. Wish I would have lingered a bit longer on the quilts because I need a new one. Lots of piles of neat looking fabric if you're into that.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
I gave it two stars cuz it had really neat things... However, the staff was completely disengaged from the store. When we asked a question it was like they could not even bother to look at us. Super disappointed

Raquel C.

Yelp
Stella Dallas/10ft single are near gems that deserve your patience and attention while shopping. Sifting through the tightly packed racks of garments categorized by style and color (mostly) can be daunting if you don't have a hint as to what you're after- as vintage shopping can be anywhere that has a large selection. And damn is there a decent selection! I am particularly blown away by the array of men's and women's shoes carried and all the millions of floral baby doll dresses that them Williamsburg hipsters love to wear in the summer (now you know where they get them). I went in last time specifically looking for a pair of overalls and walked away with an amazingly well-fitted, un-tarnished, acid wash pair for $35. While browsing with a friend on another recent occasion, she uncovered a huge, pristine, leather backpack (truly unique in its coloring, craftsmanship, and shape) for $90. A $90 backpack may sound expensive to some, but considering the details, the size, the sheer beauty of it... guarantee I've seen shitty versions of this brand knew for a couple hundred. $90 for leather worked in that way was beyond fair. So yeah, cute and unique stuff is too be found! But I sometimes find quality control to be a bit of a miss. There are some dowdy things that have made their way into the store which feel like they should be sold in a GoodWill. The only other issue related to quality is with the pricing. Now, overall the pricing is fair and moderate to inexpensive. However I always get the sense that not all garments are marked with damages in mind, but rather priced only with the style, fabric, era in mind. Whilst last shopping here, looking for those overalls (maybe that is a tad bit hipster, shit) another pair of overalls caught my eye at a glace were also $35. However, upon closer examination, found numerous paint stains, a sizable rip, and a missing strap hook to hold oen of the straps up. These by no means survived years of ware and tear like the the pair I ended up getting. I was surprised at the price, thought I read it wrong, then noticed that ALL the overalls were $35. And let's be real, all vintage is not in the same shape! So I felt like I walked out with a bargain, but can understand why someone else might think the selection is overpriced as a whole if they only picked up a few half-decent or poor garments and it was clear too much was being asked for them. Other than that, the kids always ignore you and don't give two shits but they play good music. Shop closes at 8 every night (bonus!), but doesn't open until the early afternoon it seems (which sucks if you have a day off, don't live in brooklyn, and just want to get back into the city before lunch time).

Ellie C.

Yelp
Awesome, unique selection here! It is on the pricey side of things, but you can definately find some good deals on gorgeous stuff - walking out of there I had convince myself that every room in my apt didnt need a new rug....

Heather S.

Yelp
Right next Door to Stella Dallas vintage clothing and piled high with amazing vintage home goods. I've spent a lot of time sifting through gorgeous rugs, wool blankets and vintage fabrics. There are always some nice Pendleton blankets when I've gone that I might take home with me eventually. There is a lot potential in this place to create a truly beautiful living space.

Robert G.

Yelp
Ten Foot Single (clothing) and Stella Dallas Living (housewares) are as good as it gets. I would call myself a definite vintage hunter. I've gone vintage searching all up and down Florida, Texas, California, Illinois, and a lot of New York/New Jersey. This is probably my favorite spot in the US. Fair prices, great selection. Enough said. A must go.

D M.

Yelp
decent selection, but they didn't have what i was looking for. go if you want to overpay for a Pendleton or shell out $175 for a half yard of barkcloth. i was the only person in the store and not one of the four people working even looked at me during the 20 minutes i was there. at one point i said hi to one of them and they barely looked up. i've had this same experience at each of their locations, and it's a little eerie!

Tyke T.

Yelp
I asked to exchange a coat for another that was at a a higher price. They said no. Even though they understood that more of a profit would ensue, I still got a no. MAKE SURE YOU WANT TO KEEP THE ITEM! THEY HAVE NO "PRO CUSTOMER," RETURN POLICY!

Cristina S.

Yelp
Awesome clothes, but the staff are complete a-holes. I am going to spend money so calm the f down. I am going to put back what I'm not keeping, cause God forbid YOU do ANY work aside from roll your eyes and be rude. I have written 3 yelp reviews in my life because I don't really care to, but this time I cared. I live in Brooklyn too, it's not a license to be a jerk. You're not that cool. I am in a position through work to give this store a ton of business and will never give them another dime. Whether they care or not, I do.

Heather C.

Yelp
there are actually two parts to this store. i believe the "living" side is for textiles. so i'm writing this for the clothing side, Stella Dallas. unique pieces at fairly reasonable prices. the boots are to die for. i wouldn't send anyone anywhere else, both men and women. lace-ups, cowboys, work, etc. i myself snatch up all their jumpsuits to paint in and have gotten too many compliments imaginable. this is in my top 3 places to shop for clothing, manhattan, brooklyn or otherwise. i'm giving myself away.

James R.

Yelp
don't know why this place isn't on yelp. really awesome vintage textiles. pricey, but great selection

Gabby S.

Yelp
Great all around: selection, price point, uniqueness. If you're looking for something special at a moderate price point this is a great place to start.

Mary b.

Yelp
don't hang your 'not for sale' t shirts in the store-take them home and enjoy the fact that NO ONE will ever have them but you-WTF
