"For more than 150 years (the longest to continually operate in the world), the New Orleans streetcars have shuttled people around the city. The cars are beautiful—mahogany seats, brass fittings—and slow-moving, making them perfect for seeing a larger swathe of the city with kids. Meanwhile, if you take the Charles Street line, make a pit stop for lunch at Superior Seafood. We've been told that it has a great kids menu (as well as gluten-free options). "
I love the number 12 Streetcar line which is also called the Saint Charles Line. It’s a convenient and very fun way to get around the city in a nostalgic way. This line runs 24/7, but less often at night. Be certain to download the LePass App and pre-purchase your pass. Nothing is worse than a line of people with dollar bills. Also buy the Jazzy Pass as it can be unlimited rides on Streetcars, Busses and Ferry, often for less than two single rides.

Step back in time! We rode the streetcars around New Orleans and loved it. It’s only $3 for an all day ticket so you can hop on and hop off or $1.25 for one ride. We found it to be convenient and really enjoyed riding around seeing the sites. Clang, clang, clang went the trolley!

We had a great time on the street car it went through the garden district and back 45 mins to the end of the line then back another 45 mins to canal.

If you wish to enjoy a bit of nostalgia, take a street car tour around New Orleans. A Jazzy Day 24 hour pass is 3 USD. In the Garden District, switch to a self guided walking tour to enjoy some really amazing architecture.

Loved this service on our trip. Wish we would have used it the first day. We got the 24 hour pass for only $3. We parked at city park after visiting there and took the red car into town. It dropped us off at the end a couple blocks from Bourbon St. From there we could either take the green car through the Garden District or jump on the red car and go towards the French market. There is some construction happening so you do have to get off and either walk or ride bus to catch the other cars.
