Informal Thai cafe offering familiar eats & a wide range of soups & seafood in a comfortable space.
"Open since 1984, Sri Siam has been serving dishes like papaya salad, boat noodles, and khao soi long before you could easily find them outside of Thai Town. But aside from its historical standing, this North Hollywood Thai restaurant also makes incredible food. We suggest the crispy rice salad, the panang curry, and the off-menu radish cakes. Then sit with your feast and watch Wheel of Fortune on the TV in the corner, and don’t be surprised if your server (i.e. the owner) pulls up a chair next to you and starts chatting—that’s just how things are done here." - brant cox, sylvio martins
"Greetings from the most important Thai restaurant you might never have heard of. Located on the outer fringes of North Hollywood, Sri Siam has been around for more than 30 years and is considered royalty among many of the city's veteran Thai cooks. That crispy rice salad that blew your mind over at Night + Market? Sri Siam’s been doing their version since the ’80s. Also, don’t be surprised if your server (i.e., the owner) pulls up a chair next to you and starts chatting—that’s just how things are done here. The grilled beef salad, fully loaded shrimp paste fried rice, and sweet-salty chicken wings are all knock-outs, but the best thing here is the off-the-menu radish cakes. Don't leave without at least one order." - brant cox, arden shore, garrett snyder, sylvio martins
"Located in a North Hollywood mini-mall, this family-owned restaurant has been serving authentic Thai cuisine for 30 years. The menu features khao soi, nam tok, and reasonably priced lunch specials, including panang curry and pad see ew. (The crispy rice salad is an absolute must-order on every visit.) An unfussy dining room and friendly, relaxed service seal the deal." - Rebecca Roland, Mona Holmes, Matthew Kang
"Sri Siam has been in operation since the 1980’s and is LA Thai restaurant royalty. While no meal here is complete without some crispy rice salad (one of the first versions of its kind to be served in LA) and their off-menu radish cakes, the khao soi should always be part of your order. It’s a perfectly balanced bowl of soup that’s rich and creamy with a massive kick of heat at the end of each bite. Be sure to load up on the fried egg noodles that come on the side as well. They’re thicker than other versions around town, meaning that even after soaking in the broth for a while, they still provide the soup some extra crunch." - brant cox, nikko duren
"Your Order: Crispy Rice Salad This tiny North Hollywood staple is one of the most overlooked Thai restaurants in LA. And while pretty much everything on the menu is fantastic, you shouldn’t leave without ordering the crispy rice salad. They’ve been serving it here since the 1980s (long before you became obsessed with the one at Night + Market), and for good reason—this minty, slightly spicy classic is worth the drive every time." - brant cox, sylvio martins, arden shore, garrett snyder, nikko duren
