On the Grid : Skroten

"This café is sort of tucked away, located in a part of Djurgården that’s still unknown even to many Stockholmers. Skroten has a shop where you can find things for your boat, but people mostly visit for the food and fika. You can stay in the café but our recommendation is to order take away and go down to the docks, which are really near by. There you can enjoy your meal while overlooking the urban shipyard that’s located on the other side of the water." - 25AH

I think it's a local place. They serve nice swedish food and free bread and kind of juice. Very reasonable price with a wonderful water view. It's worth a visit at least once.

Take the Tram 7 trip over . Skansen stop. Very unique restaurant. Great large bowl of hunks of Salmon and shrimp soup served with garlic bread. One of the best burgers.very efficient friendly staff. One of our favorites .

Great and unique place, lots of people coming and waiting in lines. Food is tasy as well and decor is cool. My minus is that people sit really close next to you, so less privacy and you have to wait to order like 5-10 min.

Our Stockholm friends took us to this quirky cafe with a maritime theme, which we almost for sure would not have found on our own. We had coffee and an assortment of tasty pies which everyone liked very much.

Compared to the price the food was basic but did not live up to our expectations. We got quite bad service by a seemingly grumpy woman, didn’t feel welcome at all.

Very cool place with fisherman tack all over the gaff. Delicious selection of food to shovel into your gnash gate. Friendly staff and all round good vibe. Definitely recommend stopping here whilst checking out the hood.

Skroten Café & Skeppshandel is a warm, inviting spot tucked away on Djurgården in Stockholm. It has a charming blend of café and maritime shop vibes, with ship lanterns, ropes, and the faint scent of the sea adding to its unique character. We had both the fish and chips and the seafood soup here—everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Sitting here enjoying our meal, felt like a perfect way to soak in the relaxed, nautical atmosphere that makes this place so special.

I highly recommend this coffee shop! Not in the heart of the city. However, the setting is lovely! It's near the river. Inside, the design is unique, warm, and welcoming. The staff is friendly! My lunch: sandwich, soup, and hot chocolate (I'm not sorry 😂) were all delicious! Definitely a spot worth returning to.

Yelp
Very hard to find but the food is very fresh and very good, I've eaten here twice on this trip and I had the pulled pork special on the first visit and the fish soup the next time there. I prefer the soup as it was very good, the beer was cold and service was friendly and accommodating. I would recommend putting forth the effort to find this hidden gem.

Yelp
I choose 5 stars for my visit here and it seems appropriate to post it here as this is how we found it. Spent a great time at the ABBA museum and then walked here in about 6 minutes for lunch and a break. They had a menu on the wall in Swedish and a paper menu in English. We shared the fish soup and a special of the day, Chicken with Gorgonzola pasta dish and both were outstanding! We also had their house red and wine. Never would have found this spot I'm certain. But we shall be back! Very very good

Yelp
Cool place if you like a nautical/marine theme. Close to museums and a pretty easy walk, even from Old Town. Lunch special when were there was lamb sausage and potatoes au gratin, which was outstanding. Friendly staff and definitely worth going back.

Yelp
I was recommended to try this place called "Skroten " or I would never had found it. The personnel is very friendly and fast. I have a great burger and I will be back!

Yelp
Perfect nook for delicious traditional Swedish food. Seating outside and inside with lovely charm. Set near the water off the beaten path. Highly recommended.
