This cozy, bustling noodle bar in a strip mall serves deeply flavored ramen, sushi rolls, and late-night sips of beer and sake.
"Sure, the lines at this massively popular ramen spot border on ridiculous, but stay strong - the ramen inside is some of the best in the city. Your order here should be The Blaze with pork, a spicy tonkotsu with deeply flavored broth that’s creamy, spicy, and exactly what you want after an extremely long day (and maybe a long night, too). Food Rundown Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen Deeply flavored broth with enough spice to warm the stomach. Go with the pork belly, with chunks damn near the size of a standard pork chop, and settle in for that perfect home-sick-from-school-watching-Maury meal. Fried Gyoza These pork dumplings have the crunch, the flavor, and the sauce to make them a must-order. Pork Bun The flavors are great, but not recommended for take out. If you manage to snag a table though, this is a great little snack before your meal." - Michael Burke
"One glance at the line curling around the parking lot of Silver Lake Ramen and you’ll ask yourself if you really want to spend your entire night waiting to get in here. The answer should always be yes. This is far and away the best ramen on the Eastside, and on those bitter cold LA nights when the temperature dips below 60 degrees, nothing beats a bowl of their spicy tonkotsu ramen and a fried gyoza plate." - brant cox
"Every since Silver Lake Ramen open theor doors in 2013 they've been bustling from open til close. They serve up a hearty bowl of ramen with other non-ramen items such a crispy rice with spicy tuna, sushi rolls and rice bowls. They don't take reservations and there's often a line for dinner. Go the pro way, order for pick up and enjoy the meal while wearing your stretchy pants." - Presshaus LA
"Silverlake Ramen has expanded to a bunch of locations, but the original on Sunset in Silver Lake is an excellent Eastside staple for late night. Your order here should be The Blaze with pork, a spicy tonkotsu with deeply flavored broth that’s creamy, spicy, and exactly what you want after an extremely long day (and maybe a long night, too). They’re open for pick-up and delivery until 10pm nightly." - kat hong, brett keating
"Confusingly, this popular ramen spot can now also be found in Santa Monica, Koreatown, DTLA, and Long Beach. Its original Sunset Boulevard location once boasted ridiculous waits, though the pandemic has considerably curbed its in-person crowds. The real secret is to just get takeout, which you’ve probably gotten really good at since last March. With a creamy, almost opaque broth, Silverlake Ramen’s tonkotsu has managed to stand out despite the city’s crowded ramen scene, and the restaurant’s chashu seals the deal on a satisfying bowl, every time." - kelly yeo
