Great place for brunch! Got there on Sunday at noon and found the spot pretty busy. Hence, I had to change the dish I wanted to order initially. The staff was fast and the food was at a decent level.

My daughter and I ate here for breakfast. Really great atmosphere with a wrap around outdoor patio. It's all about the biscuits here! I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and it was very good! The biscuit is buttery and perfectly baked. All very reasonable prices for the quality of food. I didn't get to try their fresh orange juice but it looked great.

So you want a salad. Missing out on fresh greens after all the great food the city has to offer? The answer is the Kale Caesar. I love a Caesar salad and I have had few that rival this one. First, Satsuma knows how to dress a salad. Most places don't and that's why "dressing on the side" exists. I did not ask for dressing on the side and I'm glad I didn't. They use Lacinato kale which is so much better than the bagged kale we have to suffer through usually and the Caesar dressing just coats it so perfectly. The other standouts on this salad are the breadcrumbs which came from actual slices of bread, and the bacon. Yes, there is bacon on this salad and it is delicious and should be on all Caesar salads because it makes eating salad a pleasure. I tried the lavender lemonade and suffered through that, but all in all the meal was great. Just don't forget they charge 12% for the staff on all orders as if you're in Seattle. It was well publicized and the cashier let me know as well, so, if you're someone that finds pleasure in griping about life, keep on walking.

I had a very disappointing experience here the other day. My husband and I arrived at 2:10 pm on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. Upon arrival, one of the employees was putting up all the tables and chairs for outdoor seating. We asked if we could sit outside and she told us no because she was putting the tables and chairs away, but meanwhile there was another customer still sitting at a table outside. So we walked inside, and as I was about to sit down at a table indoors, the same employee comes up to the table next to mine and starts flipping the chairs up on that table, which definitely gave me the impression that she was ready to put away this seating area, too. So I relocated to a different table in the center of the cafe. The employee then came over to my new seat and told me “if you can put your order in the kitchen closes by 2:40”. At this time it was only 2:15. I had been at this cafe for all of 5 minutes and it does not close until 3 pm. Ma’am, it will not take me 30 minutes to place my order. In the 5 minutes I had been there, her behavior had made it very obvious with putting things away, mopping the floors, and making a point to tell me to essentially hurry up and order my sandwich and salad, that she was ready to go home. It was totally off-putting, unwelcoming, and maybe the least friendly small business experience I’ve had since living in NOLA. The food was great. Just know you’re apparently not welcome past 2 pm even though they are open until 3 pm. After ordering at 2:18 pm my husband and I took our food and sat on the bench outside because I didn’t want to eat a meal feeling like an annoyance even though I was a paying customer just hoping to enjoy a lunch here.

My son & I met friends for brunch here. He had a bacon, egg, & cheese croissant (yeah, original) & I had green eggs & ham. It was delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice was also amazing! I would recommend this cool little spot to anyone!

Food came out quickly. So yummy. We had a bagel, green eggs and ham, and the avocado toast. All very tasty and satisfying, but not too heavy. They have a variety of coffee (regular, espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc.) and some pastries too. My sandwich was on a croissant (you can choose your bread) and it was sooo flaky. Every time I touched it you got that crinkle.

Really nice cafe, great coffee, they have an espresso machine and made a great latte with proper textured milk. The pancakes were really good too.

Very good food. Knives kinda suck. Would definitely steal their chairs.
