When I got home I realized there was about a 2x3 inch section that didnt look like it was cut at all. The one side of my head looked like a pretty decent haircut though... I had something important to do so I had to fix it myself it took me like an hour in the mirror NOT COOL

Me and my girlfriend are visiting New York this weekend and I forgot to get a haircut before I left so I did some research and stumbled upon Rudy’s. I selected the first available barber when making the appt and I got Paul. I don’t think I can say enough about how personable and amazing he was. I have a really thick beard and thick hair. He gave me the best beard trim and haircut I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend Paul and I wish I wasn’t just visiting or I would keep coming back!

Google
Got a great cut from Paul! Maybe the first time I was actually happy about getting a haircut. Super nice guy and great shop as well

Vlad did a great job on my haircut and beard trim. They have excellent beard products. I highly recommend this barbershop. @heymannicebeard

Google
Big moment for me. Had long hair and cut to donate. Vlad was AWESOME! The place and whole vibe are one-of-a-kind. Quality matches the price and best experience I've ever had. Thanks, Vlad and Rudy's!

My boyfriend and I had decided it was time for a haircut! Place was decent. However, service needs improvement! The lady that cut my boyfriends hair didn’t really speak English, and gave him the opposite what he had asked for. My boyfriend had beautiful, thick, silky, long hair with bangs covering his eyes. Keep in mind he only wanted to cut half an inch off (basically a little trim.) He came back with his hair shaved on the sides! His hair was all thinned out, was all spiking up like an mohawk, and his forehead was showing! This was a bad haircut experience!

Google
This has been my barbershop for the last few years and I've been consistently happy with them. Over that period of time, I've had a few different stylists and all were good. Julia has been my go to for the last year and a half and she is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended! The location itself is very relaxed and laid back. The people who work here have a very calm demeanor, which really puts you at ease from the moment you walk in. I've never had to wait when showing up for an appointment, which is great for those of us in a hurry. Booking online is easy as well.

Google
After my last 2 cuts at Rudy's, I'm changing my review from 4 stars to 2. The attitude issues I mentioned previously have been resolved. They have two really nice front desk people now. However, the reliably good haircuts are gone. Both of the last 2 cuts I've had there have required trips back a couple days later to fix mistakes. The last cut I had there was a buzz, but, because she used a pair of scissors too, I had to pay the cut price. That aside, the consistent messing up of my hair means I won't be back. Original review: Reliably good, sometimes great, haircuts. Inconsistent attitude, sometimes friendly and sometimes cold. It's a good resource in midtown, and close to my office, but I still might go down to Decatur and Sons when I want a haircut with a guaranteed good vibe.

Yelp
You may just luck out like me and be booked with Vlad for your first time at Rudy's. He doesn't waste time (yours or his) and makes sure you walk out looking great -- quickly, easily, effortlessly. Vlad kindly took me last minute when my original stylist cancelled and honestly, I'm glad she did! Why? This was the easiest, most pleasant cut I've ever had in New York. I usually assume a great haircut comes the longer someone takes with your hair but Vlad proved me wrong today -- even when faced with my unruly, uneven hair. After listening to what I wanted, it seemed he quietly calculated the simplest way to the perfect haircut for me and took me there in what felt like moments. Talk about time machine. No unneeded chatter or hesitant fluffery - just focused concentration and -- ** damn ma'am.** There it was. A pixie cut that, even with less length, looked longer and sleeker, with subtle definition where it mattered. Thanks, Vlad, for style at its most essential.

Yelp
Pilar P. did a wonderful job on my haircut and style - she was very kind, thorough and I loved the outcome. I brought in a picture of what I was looking for and she did a great job of replicating the look for my hair - the perfect balance of layers for movement and easy styling. It's been a month now and I still love it - will be back!

Brandy R.

Yelp
LOVE RUDY'S!! Great staff, welcoming and nobody cuts my head better!! See you in 6 weeks friends! xoxo

Yelp
I've gotten a lot of good haircuts and Rudy so I'm not going to bash on the establishment, but I got this worse haircut of my life at this specific shop. First thing, the lady didn't even listen to me. I have like long thick fluffy and it took a long time to grow out. I take care of it and I style it and everything. I love my hair, so I asked for the exact same thing but just an inch shorter, instead she pretty much obliterated the sides, left the back long, and made the front way too short, I usually have it right at/below eyebrow level now half of my big forehead is showing. She wouldn't listen when I gave her directions, she ended up giving me this weird way too short mullet type haircut. Not only that, she insisted on using these weird thinning sheers. I told her "can you just take a little bit more of the back" but she absolutely insisted on using these. She forcefully ran it through my hair and it literally looked awful. She got rid of my all hair and thinned all of it out, alls I asked for was a trim. Now my hair is all short, and super super thin, staticky, and dead. It used to be when I got out of the shower I had a nice thick mop sitting on my hair that looked nice in flowy, now it's thin, feels awful to the touch and has no shape to it at all. It's flat ugly and my hair is absolutely ruined. If you're a young guy and you have a thick set of hair which you like never come here bruh, my hair is ruined and my girlfriend agrees.

Yelp
This place is THE BEST. You'll get a great haircut no matter which barber you book, so don't be afraid to choose "first available" from the dropdown menu when scheduling your cut on their convenient online system. I've had my hair cut by Vlad, Pam, Christine, and Concetta--all fabulous! I am partial to VLAD for buzzcuts because he is an absolute master at detail; Vlad devotes 1000% effort and is so talented at switching between tools like an artist does brushes; every one of Vlad's cuts is an absolute masterpiece! Christine understands curls and frizz and volume very well; Concetta will help you decide if you're unsure about what you want; Pam is fearless if you want a short, experimental crop. Everyone is extremely efficient and pleasant and the atmosphere is spacious with a cool, relaxed, industrial vibe. They've been terrific during the pandemic period, exercising efficient precautions to keep us all healthy and safe. Oh, and all the hair products they use are cruelty-free and smell awesome.

Brett G.

Yelp
Today I visited Pamela at Rudy's. She is an awesome stylist and I highly recommend her.

Kim S.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Rudy's. I work in the neighborhood and was a regular with Shain before the pandemic. Now two years and 3 months later were are back in our offices and Shain is back at Rudy's!! I highly recommend Rudy's whether you live or work in the neighborhood, the staff and the stylists are so friendly and the cuts are top quality!!

Fred E.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years but will not be returning. I used to use James who was awesome but tried a few different barbers since. Most of them are stuck up and really not friendly. Plus they all spew their political views constantly. Really do not recommend

Steve T.

Yelp
It's so hard to find a good barber in this city. They're either too concerned with getting people in and out that they rarely pay attention to the quality of their service. Or they're too stuck in their ways to follow directions on what you want. My experience here was none of the above. The lady behind the counter (I didn't catch her name) was extremely friendly and made me feel welcomed from the second I caught her gaze. On top of that, my stylist, Barbara, listened to me, offered suggestions, and gave me an excellent cut to boot. Honestly, I'm not sure where some of these bad reviews are coming from. I had a great experience and will certainly be back again.

Carl S.

Yelp
I always go to Concetta because she knows exactly how to cut my hair to make me look my best. She makes recommendations as to what might work but never forces an opinion on you. She takes her time to make sure you look great and is also cool AF. Book your next haircut at Rudy's and ask for Concetta!!

Zhen W.

Yelp
I've been coming here for the last 6 months and the service has only been going downhill. They used to wash my hair and give me a hair cut. Today they didnt wash my hair and then didnt listen to anything I said. I wanted a fade and to shorten the top. They was no fade and the top looked like it could have been done by a 15 year old. I really wanted this to be my to go spot, but now I wont be going here again EVER and spreading the news on the subpar service they offer. $60 for a cut without a wash. I can get that anywhere with better service. No thanks!

Jeff D.

Yelp
Rudy's is awesome!!! Everyone is so welcoming, especially Megan and she's always bustling around when she's not at the desk. Lis is the best ever! She's fast, fun, and knows how to translate exactly why I want. I won't go anywhere else for my cuts!

Arnaud F.

Yelp
Always wanted to try as I work nearby, the space looks great. Despite precise instructions, the barber did not listen to any of my requests, leaving me with a haircut that was absolutely not what I was expecting or requested. I ended up waiting for my regular barber to come back from vacation to have a decent haircut. He did confirm seeing my hair that the job was poorly done and questioned the experience and work of that other barber For that of a haircut, go to any $20 midtown barber but charging $40+ is definitely not worth it.

Max B.

Yelp
Ok, so I want to start this off by saying that this is one experience and I have a feeling that it's not normal of Rudys this place seemed awesome and I would totally go back. Today I walked in off the street because I wanted to get a haircut and color. I'm an MC at a convention coming up next week, and I decided to go balls out and dye my head bright red for the company I am MCing for. Normally I would just buy a bleaching kit at the super market and use special effects or manic panic. Overall cost is like $40 bucks and it usually comes out great. But for this I decided to go to a professional. Upon meeting the barber (who's name I can remember now... Julian maybe?) I told him what I was looking to do and we agreed on a cut, color, and price (195) The cut: was actually really great. Barber gave it a great look and shape. I really wish that I just got a haircut because I would be writing a 5 star review. The color: So we talked about the color and he said that we were going to pick it together because he wanted to make sure it was somethings that would work. We agreed on color touch 77/45 which is a beautiful bold bright red. While he was applying the color he made a comment about how hair color doesn't always come out exactly right. I didn't think anything of it. He washes and rinses the dye and walks me out to the busy barber shop. I took one look in the mirror to see that my hair was BRIGHT ORANGE. Completely not the original color we had talked about. Not even close. It is a color that I don't believe exists. I have no idea how 77/45 could ever come out like this. Google the color, there is no way that color can be orange. Not only that but he cut a hard part into my head and didn't bleach the part. So the part of my head is a full shade darker orange. He rubbed dye into the buzzed parts of my scalp unevenly it's hilariously dreadful. He can visibly tell that I'm upset about the color and asks me what's wrong. I mumble some bullshit about how I'm just lost in thought. I couldn't even come up with words to express that I could have done a better job with peroxide and special effects. At least when I buy special effects, I know what color I am going to get. I should have been more vocal at the time of payment about my dissatisfaction. I didn't want to start a scene they seemed super busy and I had a flight to catch. While still in the Barber shop I was frantically searching for the closest hat store and the guys at JJ hats got me straightened out quick and efficiently (highly recommended if you have to hide your head from the world for a week) I spent nearly $200 on something I should have just done at home. Lesson learned. I just bought special effects "nuclear red" to see if I can darker the color a little bit. If not, I have plenty of hats until I can wash it out. Tldr; go for the cut, not the color. (Well maybe at least not alternative bright and bold colors)

Yelp
Vlad was awesome. When I get a haircut, I'm the complete opposite of traditional barbershop culture... I'm typically in a rush and I don't need to listen to music or have a two hour conversation with whoever is cutting my hair... And Vlad was perfect. He was to the point, extremely friendly, and very professional. I felt a bit stupid though, because I wear a mask that rides along my neck... And it got away with fixing my neck... So keep that in mind if you go to get a haircut. The entire shop was extremely clean, and checking in was smooth and easy. If you still need to clean yourself up from the scruff that we all fell into during the pandemic, this is definitely the place to pamper yourself and clean up! I look like a human being again!

Fernando D.

Yelp
Went here for my first cut, a simple buzz cut and left with a very bad taste in my mouth. Everyone was super nice and I had a great conversation with Joey, but as soon as I left the building I noticed she had cut a good amount of my hair off. Came back in and was refunded but what followed after I spoke to Joey was VERY unpleasant. I explained to her that she had cut my hair off and her response was the most immature response I have ever heard from someone. The fact that she pretended like it wasn't her and completely brushed it off shows how irresponsible she is at her job. As if I have anything to gain by going in with a bunch of hair in my hand and after all that she walks away as if it's not her problem, and not even an apology? I would recommend she takes a class in ethics

Matthew D.

Yelp
Consistently late and disrespectful of my time. I liked my haircuts so I kept returning after repeated tardiness, but this 3rd time at 25 minutes past appointment was too much. Worse: they called me to say my barber would be late, told me it would only be a 5 minute delay, and left me sitting on their bench inside until I excused myself 20 minutes later. Be upfront and have me reschedule. Finding a new barber sucks. Save yourself the trouble and start by looking elsewhere.

William K.

Yelp
Finding a good barborshop as a guy is not as easy as you would think. A place that can handle (surpricingly difficult) a buzz cut, a mohawk and a basic trim for a decent price that also offers product is an art. Rudy's has that. I lived in Los Angeles for about five years and in that time I searched and searched. I ended going to a place down Hollywood Blvd... that catered to a different style of cutting. I chose it because the sign out front said "We Cut Heads"... a reference to one of my favorite films that Spike Lee made... 'Do The Right Thing'. Now my haircut was shit! But I also didn't go to a place that new how to cut my my style hair. So when I found Rudy's in an old converted mechanics garage and popped a beer, read the new Juxtapose featuring Kaws and Shepard Fairey... I was in love. So when Rudy's (below Ace Hotel) in Manhattan opened I could not have been happier. You get a straight up haircut, how you want it, no B.S., you pay a fair price and you bounce. You couldn't ask for anything better. When I was leaving the other day I noticed the other side of their sign and it read "We Cut Heads" ... so fellas, if your looking for a good cut... I think youll do the right thing and choose this spot.

Connor L.

Yelp
I have spent the last four years traveling NYC to find someone to cut my hair. In those four years I've gone from random barbershops off avenues, to Williamsburg, Carroll Gardens and overpriced midtown locations. After being referred to Lee at Rudy's I can finally say I found my person who is in the city. She is amazing and completely understands my head is different than everyone else's she is cutting daily. HIGHLY recommend going to Rudy's and do yourself a favor book with Lee she is the best they have. 10/10

Brandon Z.

Yelp
Vlad did a great job on my haircut and beard trim. They have excellent beard products from multiple brands including Davines and Brooklyn Grooming. I highly recommend this barbershop. @heymannicebeard

Charles M.

Yelp
I don't typically enjoy visiting a new barber out of fear that the barber may screw up my hair. I visited Rudy's Barbershop and I met Lee. She shook my hand and guaranteed me I would be satisfied. I requested for a high-and-tight, with shampoo and conditioner treatment at the conclusion. I left the barbershop satisfied, for once, a barber has mastered the style I've requested for and not cut corners. I was surprised by the bill though, $56. I've never paid so much for a haircut. The most I've ever paid was at least $20. I was assuming my cut would be $20 but didn't know until I was asked to pay. Though, I'll throw the thought of it being expensive out the window simply because Lee did wash my hair and the service was quick, I was satisfied with my hair. Kudos to Lee, I'll be back soon to get another haircut.

Yelp
This was my second time at Rudy's. And it will be my last. First cut was by a gentleman named Vlad. We spoke about what I wanted (I didn't have pics) and explained that I wants to keep the front long, with a fade on the sides and back. He's buzzing the sides, he's buzzing the back then he starts to take his scissors to the top - and I got a bit freaked out because we talked about it and he said he wouldn't cut it much. But he did. A lot. And it was uneven. I part my hair on the left and pull it all over to the right. I like a nice line on the hair, from the top of the back of my head down to the front, with long bangs. I explained this, even showed with my hand how o wAnted my hair, and he didn't do it. He cut far too much off the front and put a hole in the side. He must have recognized that I was disappointed because he turned into a mope, got all introverted, and didn't say much for the rest of the cut. Then, to close the deal he ends with 'Here is my card, just in case you might want to come back'. Just in case - clearly he knew I wasn't happy, but didn't offer to fix it, nor did he try to resolve it. It was all about him. I ended up going home and fixing my hair myself, because he was just too distraught to take some criticism, and I feared he would butcher my hair more. If only he was the worst one there. Since Rudy's is close I figured I'd give it another shot, but not with Vlad. So, I booked an appointment for yesterday with Dorca. Lord. Another bad cut, but this time it is all on her. I brought pictures with me, showed her 3 or 4, explained what I liked about each, then said the same thing - don't cut the bangs. I want them long. Even had a pic with hella long bangs, said 'I really like the length here'. At first things were going kinda OK, but, I've been getting a 'high and tight' for a while now and the good barbers ALWAYS use the heavy duty Oster clippers, with the serious blades. She didn't use that, even though it was at her station. She used the sub-par Wahl with the plastic clip. And, her buzzing technique was sloppy and fast. She hit my ear a few times, and it just didn't feel like she was putting herself into the cut. It seemed she was on autopilot, talked wayyyy too much, and didn't really understand what I wanted. Again, I explained to not cut the bangs, showed pics... And she cut them. A good 2 plus inches. With a huge hole in the side. At the end she asked if I was happy, without showing me the back. I had to ask to see it. I had to get back to work to chair a meeting, and I didn't trust her to fix it. She clearly doeSn't have a good eye for men's hair, and is so full of herself. I am going to head over today and ask for a refund. Never going to Rudy's again.

Denny V.

Yelp
Walked in at 640PM and got an appointment at 730PM. Left and came back to check in at 730PM and was instructed to wait. 25 mins later, with 5 barbers sitting on their chairs on their phone, I decided to leave. I understand the concept of being assigned to someone to spread the work among the team, so I guess I drew the one person that was working with a client already. There were no check-ins, apologies for the long wait or offers to go with anyone else. If you value your time, I would go elsewhere, as I felt like they feel like they are able to get away with not providing fundamental customer service since they are such a popular shop.

Anna V.

Yelp
Julia does it again! Rudy's is my personal go to for people who know hair. I swear by this place and love the atmosphere! These folks know what they're doing and they'll take care of you!

Olivia A.

Yelp
I went in for a haircut this past week with Elisabeth and she was amazing! I didn't know exactly what I wanted & gave incredibly vague and poorly articulated references (mostly relying on sounds and fictional characters) but she somehow nailed it. She was also super patient and nice. 10/10 would go back & get my hair cut by Elisabeth.

George Y.

Yelp
It pains me to leave a review, because I have loved getting my haircut at Rudy's. Today, however, that changed. I won't name who the stylist was, but I called to let them know I was going to be about 5 minutes late. It's NYC, things happen! I walk through the door and am greeted with an attitude and a comment about my being late and how they have another client after me. That was quite insulting, I had to walk out. Considering every time I have been there I have been early, and on one occasion they had me change my reservation, show up, only to wait another 15 minutes as the client before me was running behind. Rudy's is a great barbershop. The staff, generally, are great. But unfortunately for me, I will not be returning. The client/business relationship is a 2 way street, and I was made to feel that I was unwelcome and unappreciated because I was late.

Rachel G.

Yelp
I really was impressed with this shop. I went visiting the city from out of town. My 13 yr old son was really desperately needing a cut, so I yelped and found this establishment in Chelsea right near our hotel. I walked over and they were able to fit him right in (it was about 6:30pm) . I wish I remembered the stylist name because he did a great cut. I observed all the other clientele and they likewise were looking good. The price was maybe slightly higher than I pay for a cut back home, but not much more---it was nothing outrageous.

Bryan W.

Yelp
Pamela is hands down my favorite barber experience I've ever had, which is why I take the effort to get my haircut with her at Rudy's at Ace, everytime, despite living in Greenpoint. She's a professional, knows what she does, gets to know you, and becomes that barber that very quickly you don't even have to instruct, she knows what you want, she remembers (but will always ask to make sure). Service, quality, comfort. What else can you ask for.

Syndee F.

Yelp
PAMELA!!! She is your go to for a cut! Thank you Pamela for a great cut and delightful conversations. It was a pleasure. If I need a cut before I leave NYC ... I am coming to you! PEOPLE .... BOOK PAMELA!!

Danilka I.

Yelp
Let me start off with saying that I've had really long hair all of my life but for my 25th birthday I wanted a big change so what do I do? I decide to go with a pixie cut. I had 100% trust in my stylist Ali since she is the only person I've gone to for the past five years. Every time I sit in her chair I come out looking like a celebrity. My confidence level is border line obnoxious after she does my hair. But Ali out did herself this time. She did explain to me that I should get a closer cut on the back but I didn't want to since it was already nerve wracking that I cut all my hair off. After a month my hair grew super fast and it was time for another cut, I should have listened to her the first time. I went even shorter the second time and it's been two in a half months and I still don't need another maintenance cut. Ali is the BEST!

John S.

Yelp
Best barber shop with the best products in NYC. Like all the other comment, this place feels great. My barber is Pamela and she kills it every time. I'm not sure about all those other comments, but if you ask questions and take advice from the professionals, you'll look great every time.

Tyler O.

Yelp
Received a call 10 minutes prior to a scheduled cut and shave, cancelling the appointment. Barber was running late in traffic and needed a full hour to do everything and didn't want to cause any delays for the rest of the day. Unbelievable. I prefer a walk-in spot -- but even when scheduling, it gets cancelled with 10 minutes notice? Never again. If you value your time, you might consider one of the other many local and well reviewed shops.

Mike E.

Yelp
I sat outside Rudy's a few Saturday's ago whil waiting for my wife who was shopping in the area. I watched a worker come outside put on a plastic glove smoke a cigarette then throw it on the floor. I thought that odd as you work right here. Then another worker comes out and does the same. If you don't have pride in your space how dedicated are you. To your clients. I have no idea if this is a great spot for a haircut but they turned me off. If the owner is reading speak with your workers as the building looks cool and should be respected.

Shaun E.

Yelp
Cool looking joint. Poor service. She just started shaving into my head without even checking if that's what I wanted.

Terry M.

Yelp
Love this shop. Quick, easy and stylish. All I want for a men's barbershop. $48 is much cheaper than some overpriced Korean barbers. Excellent communication to help me find out the perfect length of 4mm. Volume my front part not too crazy but decent. I feel very pleased.

Andres G.

Yelp
Ive been coming to Rudy's for at least 1 year and I have to say every time I get my cut from Pamela it EXCEEDS expectations! Every time she gives me a cut I feel 100% better than I do when I arrive! Thank you, Pamela!

Brendan B.

Yelp
In February of 2020 I came in for my appointment with Pamela and got my hair cut. She did an awesome job as she has with my hair for many years now. After that the world turned upside down and I stopped coming into the city for work and therefore stopped going into Rudy's to get my hair cut. Not willing to let anyone else touch my hair i literally waited a year and two months to travel back into Manhattan specifically to see Pamela and get my now shoulder length hair cut. Rudy's is the only place I go to get my hair cut because Pamela is the only person I'll allow cut my hair. My 5 star review is because Pamela is a 5 star barber.

Eathan J.

Yelp
James is the best barber I've worked with at Rudy's though all others have done a swell job. Update: I believe James is no longer at Rudy's. Changed my rating from 4 to 3 stars today. Got a grumpy haircut from Nathaniel today. Yes, I was late. But he chose to fit me in anyway. I'd appreciate a barber that can resolve a simple transit hold-up in a way that feels okay.

Catie B.

Yelp
Positioned on a busy NYC street, Rudy's is a no frills, all quality barbershop...a hidden gem employing an extremely talented stylist - Lee - who literally transformed my hair. I came to her desperate with roots a few inches long, brassy tones, and crispy ends and I left feeling totally fabulous. She did a total color overload and brought my tresses back to their blonde and healthy glory days. In addition to her talents, she is so easy to talk to, gave me a great scalp massage and styled my hair perfectly since I was heading out that evening after my appointment. She recommended some products to me as well to help keep my hair in tip top shape. She also cut my boyfriend's hair so you whether you are male or female, she has the skills to help you feel like a million bucks. I can not recommend Rudy's and Lee enough. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Been goi g to a Pamela at Rudy's for about 1.5 years now - and she's the best. Even during quarantine i wouldn't let anyone touch my hair but her.

Yelp
I am writing this review for my boyfriend who doesn't use Yelp -he says : "Pamela at the 29th st shop is amazing" my boyfriend is a creative director who works in fashion and is image focused for his work and has had a lot of different hairstylist over the years and she is hands down his favorite. He always comes back with the best haircut and his hair is healthier and fuller since he started seeing her two years ago- Pamela he really appreciates the work that you do on his head of hair and the great conversions too ;)

Yelp
Been coming to Rudy's for a quick minute now, and I always hit up Elisabeth for that skin fade game. She's able to style my hair in a way I haven't been able to find anywhere else. I used to dread having to get my hair cut cause ya boy has an oddly shaped head, but thanks to her it's become an amazing experience I look forward too. Highly recommend Rudy's and Lis if you're in the area. Awesome conversation, great shop vibe, dope haircuts. Can't go wrong.

Yelp
I was in NY last month, and working with a mate in the ACE. I'd had a scruffy week or two in Texas, hadn't had my hair sorted in about 10 weeks and thought, "first time in New York, why don't I see what their barbers are like?" Got an appointment easily enough, didn't have to wait, and the woman who cut my hair was friendly enough. However, I showed her several pictures of what I wanted, including ones of me from a year or so back when I had my hair just right. Despite saying she could do that and smiling, she really did the opposite. Second worst haircut of my life (there was an incident at a Toni and guy in 2007 where someone accidentally chopped out part of my emo fringe and pretended not to notice. I mean, I know I was asking for it having an emo fringe in the first place, but still). The length at the sides is almost the same as the top and sticks out. It kinda looks like if I gave it another month or two it'd be the same shape as Morty from Rick and Morty. This isn't great. It's been a month and it still hasn't gotten to a length where it can be cut/fixed or looks good. Plus, it was 50 bucks. That's a lot for a crap barber job no? I was just typically British about it, gave her a 'I'm totally fine with this' face (as telling her what I wanted several times didn't work, I'd given up at this point), paid and left. Just as well I don't go on many dates really. Only thing stopping from one star is that they weren't rude. Literally the only reason. I just have to keep remembering that classic Sabrina the teenage witch line: "Hair grows". That's great Sabrina love, but I just wish it would hurry the eff up.

Yelp
For about five years, I had my hair cut at Hayato. They were great. Unfortunately, my hair stylist left the country and I was left wondering what to do. Rudy's is next store to my favorite coffee place (Stumptown), so I decided to give them a try. Outstanding. Excellent haircut, efficient service, couldn't ask for more. Highly recommended if you're looking for a high-end, but not fancy, place to get your hair styled.

Yelp
Ali Paez is THE bomb dot com. I see her once a month for a cut and color, and she makes the experience incredible and wonderful from start to finish. It's almost like she's a mind reader -- she always knows just what to do. Cheers to you, Ali!! Five stars all around

Yelp
There was a lady who did my hair. It was bad. Really bad. The worst I have ever experienced. She could not even manage to cut it symmetric.

Yelp
I have been looking for a new hair stylist after recently moving to Manhattan, and I'm glad I found Rudy's. I've been twice so far, and I've been impressed by the quality of the cuts I've received, the friendly stylists, and how appointments actually start on time! This is my new go-to spot whenever I need to look my best.

Yelp
Gave them another try yesterday. Walked in about 4:30pm. Spoke to receptionist and asked when next avaible barber can buzz my hair. She stated 5pm. He's almost done. Waited till 5:20 still cutting same guys head. Left and told receptionist cancel my haircut have to catch train. Another huge disappointment. Not stepping foot in the door again.

Yelp
I entered the shop thinking what a cool blend of old-style barbershop and contemporary hair and beard salon. Immediately greeted and offered a stylist. "Vlad" was artful and did one hell of a fine job -- great haircut and conservation; I felt like an important client to him. Thank you!

Yelp
They take the last person at 8:30pm and Day could not take me because it was 8:25pm and it was only 5 for the last call. Even with 2 barbers not working just sitting down on their sit. Seems daywork rehab to close. So anyways I don't want them to hurry up on my hair cut
