Ruby's, a cozy Australian cafe in Nolita, buzzes with stylish locals enjoying hearty burgers, fresh salads, and a laid-back vibe perfect for quick bites.
"Pass by Ruby’s at 7pm on a Wednesday, or 10am on a Saturday, or 1pm on a Wednesday, and you will be able to see one thing: the people like it here. This small little place on Mulberry just a few steps down from Rubirosa is typically packed with people, both inside and overflowing onto the sidewalk as they wait for their spot at one of the (very few) tables. But unlike a lot of other Australian cafes serving avocado toast to people lining up to take pictures of it, Ruby’s isn’t new. In fact, it’s been around for a long time - since 2003. The good news is it’s still going strong today, with a great menu of salads, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, and fish. Come here when you need a breakfast, lunch, or dinner that checks off any or all of the following boxes: affordable, kind of healthy, not healthy, super cute, and super casual." - Katherine Lewin
"If you’re looking for a spot where you can eat a salad with a friend and get out for under $20, Ruby’s is there for you. No matter when you stop by, this Australian cafe will probably be busy, and you’ll probably have to sit next to a few people arguing about whether Emma Chamberlain or Mark Boutilier is better dressed, but it’s inexpensive and reliable. The menu here has everything from grain bowls to pasta, but we usually just go with one of the chicken sandwiches." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, will hartman
"Warning: Do not go to Ruby’s if you want your relationship to last. Just kidding, but this Australian-leaning cafe was a favorite of both Jacob Elordi and Kaia Gerber and Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello before their untimely breakups. Ruby’s, which has multiple locations in Manhattan, has a menu that includes Aussie staples like Vegemite toast, which could explain why this is one of Australian native Elordi’s favorite spots in NYC." - Deuxmoi
"The super cozy atmosphere, Australian accents and The Bronte Burger are sure to put a smile on the face of anyone stepping foot in Ruby's. Add some Brussel sprouts and truffle fries to your order and you'll surely return to try another dish. If you’re aiming for something light, try out the Pumpkin salad!" - Barrel
"Ruby’s is a casual spot in Nolita that doesn’t take reservations, and it often has crowds out front that rival those at Kiki’s. Unlike some other all-day Australian spots, which are packed with people taking pictures of soft-boiled eggs breaking on avocado toast, Ruby’s is popular mostly because it serves food that’s enjoyable and very affordable. Get a grain bowl or something less healthy, like pappardelle with lamb ragu or any of the seven burgers, and a bottle of wine (which won’t cost more than $40)." - bryan kim, matt tervooren
