"Pass by Ruby’s at 7pm on a Wednesday, or 10am on a Saturday, or 1pm on a Wednesday, and you will be able to see one thing: the people like it here. This small little place on Mulberry just a few steps down from Rubirosa is typically packed with people, both inside and overflowing onto the sidewalk as they wait for their spot at one of the (very few) tables. But unlike a lot of other Australian cafes serving avocado toast to people lining up to take pictures of it, Ruby’s isn’t new. In fact, it’s been around for a long time - since 2003. The good news is it’s still going strong today, with a great menu of salads, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, and fish. Come here when you need a breakfast, lunch, or dinner that checks off any or all of the following boxes: affordable, kind of healthy, not healthy, super cute, and super casual." - Katherine Lewin
