We are SO glad we found this place. We stayed at the Algonquin the week before, on our trip up the coast, and had planned to stay there on our way down, but opted for variety instead. The rooms were an added benefit, but the food was the star.
Any place where you check in and there is a lobster tank at reception is sure to have seafood as an option, and these options were lovingly presented, discussed, and prepared. The vegetables were grown on the property (baby brussel sprouts and white carrots!), and I can't begin to describe thoroughly enough the delights awaiting you if you are lucky enough to get a reservation! Trust me, it's worth the stop. My new favorite cuisine is now Canadian.
The only down side is the stairs, both at the entrance, and for the rooms, but, if you are up to the climb, it is only part of the charm.
And the breakfast? Ah, the breakfast......home made muesli, eggs, meat, toast, and $8 each!
