The first thing about this place: the barista makes the cutest coffee ever. See the image if you do not believe me. That said the espresso was amazing too. This cafe was a recommendation and I was glad we went here. The ambience is chic, and vibrant. They have two large medium halls and yet there is a queue up in front. The charming thing is, they offer you tea while you wait. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink as we sat down and Zoe who waited on us, was impeccable with her service. She knew the dishes and was spot on with her suggestions. The food tasted as good as they looked. Overall a great experience!

This place had been on my list for a really long time and I'm happy I was able to go on my last trip to Montreal. The staff are very friendly and both food and drinks were delicious. They had quite the options on the menu and the ones we ordered did not disappoint. The portions were pretty good and we left so full and satisfied. They get quite busy but you can snag a seat if you come early!

I thought the food we got was very tasty and we can see why the Montreal locals lined up for this place - we also lined up in the rain for 2 hours. Initially, our waiter was really nice to us bc me and my friend spoke French to him initially. However we had a third friend with us who spoke no French and after my third friend started talking, we noticed the waiter completely changed his attitude towards us and became a lot colder and less friendly.

Very good service, very tasty food and well presented dishes, generous portions, variety for vegans, they ask you if you are allergic to any food before starting, reasonable price according to the quality, I tried avocado toast, chorizo tart, coffee and dessert. 5 star

Wow, this place is fantastic! A friend from Montreal took us here, and the food was super tasty. Every dish was beautifully crafted, and we tried a bunch of different plates, all of which were delicious. The staff were really professional too. The spot is a bit small, and we ended up sitting near the washrooms, which wasn't ideal, but given the limited space, there wasn't much they could do. The washrooms are also quite tiny, so be prepared for that. But honestly, the food more than makes up for it. I had the beef and egg, which was perfect, and the avocado toast and mushroom plate were awesome too. Highly recommend!

Definitely a must try if you're in the area!! The menu was diverse, and it was so difficult to pick what to try! We were all so happy with what we ordered! The croissant sandwich was my favorite! Definitely order a latte or their breakfast cocktail (with delicious jam!!). Expect a wait if you're visiting on a weekend morning! So I would recommend getting there early to avoid the long lines.

Food is great, waitstaff friendly, relaxed ambiance. You will not leave hungry. Lives up to its reputation. I will return! The line starts before it opens, so get there early.

Friendly waitstaff, great coffee, huge portions, and low prices. What's not to like? The line. At 10am on a weekday, there were only a few people waiting, and we were seated after just a couple minutes in line. Somehow we got to skip around 6-7 people in line -- perhaps they were waiting for a bigger table? Inside, many families were here, taking their sweet time. It seems life is just a tad slower here, so there were people just relaxing with a book and a drink. It's a fun little breakfast spot.

Worth the wait. The staff was kind, patient, attentive. The presentation of the food was great. The taste of the food even better. One of the better spots that I have been for breakfast. The coffee/hot chocolate is probably their strongest department. The white hot chocolate is amazing. The decor and ambiance were very fitting for the fare. Would recommend to others.

Hubby found this place and it was voted top 100 places to eat in Montreal. We don't speak French, but all of the items are detailed in English, right under each one. It was definitely something different to try, and everything was good. We ordered the cafe lattes and the hot chocolate. Both delicious! I had the French toast and it was good. The bananas and cream on top were amazing. Everyone enjoyed the food. The presentation of every dish was a 5 of 5. The decor and vibe are pretty cool. It is definitely a cutesy brunch spot. We got lucky that when we got there, there wasn't a line, and we only waited about 20 mins. However, that line grew pretty quickly!! I don't think I would wait in the cold to eat at this place. The waitress was a sweetheart and very attentive. Everyone was nice and had a smile.

Came to Regine cafe 30 minutes after they opened on a weekday and we were seated immediately. I got the beef and egg benedict and it was amazing! The beef cheek was so tender and flavourful. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Hollandaise sauce was so creamy and velvety. The mashed potatoes were a bit on the salty side but with the rest of the dish, was well balanced. I usually drown my breakfast in ketchup but this meal didn't need any other seasoning. Also got a soy milk latte and it was great. Our server was also really kind and helpful.

I'm upset with myself for not having any photos of my meal because the picture along would make you want to come here. This was probably one of the best breakfasts I have had anywhere. First thing you should know about Regine is it is an adorable restaurant. Everything about the ambiance and environmental feel welcoming and warm. Service was, like basically every server and host/hostess we encountered, was superb and friendly. You should also know that while they do not take reservations most of the time, they do take reservations during the week so that is when we scheduled our visit. If you have reservations, ignore the line waiting. We got in line because we thought everyone was waiting to be helped but my wife, who likes people more than me, actually asked and found out that was the wait. Therefore, we walked in and sat immediately. As you know, service can be friendly and ambiance can be lovely, but you go there for the food. I got the Champi, which is rustic bread, cheese, poached eggs, sauteed mushrooms, with cream and sage and potatoes and greens. I also got a side of vegan sausage. My wife got their Brunch Vege - tofu scramble, vegan sausage, pistachio bread, and sweet potatoes. Both meals came with a red pepper coulis (sauce). This was one of those meals that was so difficult to savor. It was so delicious, I just wanted to shovel it in my mouth as quickly as possible. I forced myself to eat slowly just so I could enjoy every taste. I wish there was a Regine Cafe in every city we visited, though I am not sure if I would get brunch anywhere else. Honestly, the only reason we didn't come back for brunch again was because the rest of our trip was over the weekend and we didn't want to deal with a weekend crowd when we couldn't make a reservation for those days. Come here. Heck, come to Montreal for the sole purpose of coming here. You will thank you.

Wow! Best brunch ever. Even when the snow was coming down, Regine Cafe was packed. There was so many people waiting to be seated. Thankfully we had a reservation at 10:30 am. Service was amazing, everyone was very nice. Although we didn't speak French, there was English words right below the French and people communicated with us in English as well. Food was impeccable. Absolutely amazing paired with a mimosa that was I think pear and grapefruit? I really wanted to try the pastries but we were so full we didn't want to order more and not be able to take it to go because we were leaving Montreal soon. I will definitely try out their pastries next time I'm back!

What an AMAZING brunch spot. We were not sure what to expect since we were visiting from New York but we were blown away. The decor inside was so cute and antique which added to the unique vibe this place gave off and the service was exceptional, the staff was so sweet. I got the œuf et bœuf (English muffin dish) which was incredible the beef was so juicy and tender and the sauce was so flavorful, and my partner had the sucré salé (French toast dish) the ham was delicious and and bread was fluffy. Truly an amazing experience and I cannot wait to return to Montreal to eat here again.

We came here on a recommendation from our Airbnb host, and I must say this is a jewel of a brunch spot! The food was on point and so was the service. We definitely will come back here before we leave Montreal!

Very cute spot to grab a nice brunch! Be aware that on the weekends they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait for a table. Large portions very reasonable for the price. Service is very friendly. We were also given a nice sample of the cocktail of the day when we were seated. Taking 1 star away as I ordered the "gros jambon" and felt the bacon could have been crispier/more well done, but just my preference.

This place was amazing. We didn't have reservations Friday morning but thankfully we arrived right after they opened so we were able to score a table. They are strictly a breakfast/brunch spot so I would recommend coming early or booking a reservation. They do COVID check so I appreciated the safety check. The Champi won us all over. Poached egg were perfect, the rustic bread soaking up the sauce was wonderful, mushrooms were cooked perfectly. We also got a scotch egg on the side of the dish which was delicious- beef wrapped around a yolky egg and deep fried! I loved that it was a well balanced meal, there's greens, protein, carbs, and even fruit to enjoy at the end. We also had the Gaufre. Corn waffle, salmon, poached eggs, pickled onions, baby tomatoes. This was so so good. I would definitely come back and order these two dishes again, in addition to more. The matcha latte was more milk and super light matcha flavor where as the regular hot chocolate with 70% was very cute with a large marshmallow on top. I was disappointed they didn't have crumpets but hopefully they'll have that next time. 100% recommend this place.

This place is amazing, but the only thing that I dislike is the wait time. Service is amazing, but it could be a little better. The ambiance is very nice. I love the antique decor! The food is amazing. I got the champi toast, and it was phenomenal. The special of the day was okay, to be honest. It was a little too sweet for me. The scotch eggs were amazing and would definitely recommend. Would definitely come next but earlier to avoid the line.

We visited this brunch restaurant twice, our first time being at the Wellington location named Janine Café. On our second visit to Café Régine, we ordered the Grilled Cheese, the Champion and the Gros Jambon. For the beverages, we ordered some coffee, hot chocolate and a matcha latte. The Grilled Cheese was delicious. The complex flavors of the duck confit and the balsamic glaze balanced each other out well, elevating this simple diner dish to a memorable brunch item. The Gros Jambon is quite good as well. It is one of their more classic options with eggs, sausage and ham. The pork, duck and orange sausage was tasty, but we could not really taste the duck and the orange. We really liked the old-fashioned pulled ham. It tasted different from the regular ham they serve in other brunch establishments. The Champi was quite tasty as well. It's their version of an eggs benedict with mushrooms and a red pepper sauce. For three main plates and three drinks, our meal came up to 130$ with tips and tax included. Since they only take reservations on weekdays, make sure to get there early if you want a table on the weekend. We went to Café Janine for our first visit with a reservation on a weekday. For our second visit, we decided to try their Plateau location (Café Régine). We got there 30 minutes before opening (at 8h30) on a Saturday and we had to wait over an hour outside. If you are wondering which location to choose, we would suggest you try Café Janine. They seem to be the least busy of the two locations. Their menus are slightly different so check in advance which one looks more enticing to you. For example, their (delicious) Fried chicken and Waffles is only offered at Café Janine. We were visiting from NYC and was in Montreal for a few days during summer time. We were looking for a French brunch place and found Regine after researching online. It has many rave reviews. Tried to book online one day and found it was nearly impossible to reserve. Luckily I found out that half of the restaurants is reserved for walk-ins. I am so glad we went back the second day. There was a long line waiting for lunch upon arrival. Always a good sign! The location was a bit far from Montreal main, but still easy to get to. It was an amazing brunch experience. Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was chic. Our waitress was super friendly and tried her best to speak English and answered our questions. Can't sing enough praises for the food. My entire family of 5, very tough crowd to please, mind you, gave this place unequivocal thumbs up. The drinks were so yummy (we ordered the fresh fruit cocktails/came in small shot glasses). The sweet and salty food blends very well. The Cinnamon roll with caramel is out of this world! Every single dish, the flavors blend well. It passes the test of satisfying the toughest food critic: my wife! We would like to come back and definitely highly recommend this place in a heartbeat. We wish we live locally and can go back to try out all their food!

The line was long but we got delicious tea so I can't complain. We didn't get the best spot, in fact we were placed in the corner, this place is best for bigger groups. I loved my pear raspberry smoothie and the Frangelico oat latte. The tofu scramble vegan brunch was honestly subpar compared with many others I've tried in Montreal, it needs more flavor love and perhaps some breakfast potatoes that aren't covered in duck fat, maybe ;) The staff was really nice but confused about what vegan means, I guess. Overall not bad, hope to see some improvements, the drinks are worth coming back for.

I highly recommend coming here as early as possible if you plan on coming in the weekend. We came here on a Saturday morning at 9am and it was just the 3 of us. There was already a line to get in and the dining room was packed. By the time we left around 11:30 there was a line up out the door even around the corner The decor: this place is so cute so definately ask the server to take a photo of you and your table because it's Instagram worthy. All of the walls have something different to look at and gives you inspiration for your own home The food: the menu itself is very condensed but there is a section for lunch (served at a certain time), sides and desserts. They have sweet plates, savoury plates and even a vegan plate. There were so many things I wanted to eat and coundnt decide but I'm glad I went with the Champi since I wanted something savoury and this dish is definitely savoury and quenched my tastebuds. There were a ton of mushrooms and the toast was delicious with the gravy. The service: the service here is great. I like how the servers are attentive but they don't hover over you either. We had actually finished eating around 10:30 and ended up staying an extra hour before they finally asked us to leave since there was a huge line up. I'm actually surprised they let us stay for that much longer since there was a huge line when we had left. They asked us very nicely and were very appreciative so I do not mind being kicked out at all!

I cannot get enough of this restaurant! I want to personally try everything on this menu!!! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I don't fool around when it comes to breakfast. I'm at the breakfast place no later than 9:30 a.m. to guarantee me a seat. Cause when I go out for breakfast, I always got my hungry "on" and expecting to eat NOW--not after waiting in a line for 45 minutes. So if you're like me, please show up to Régine Cafe before 9:40 a.m. if you want to be seated right away. First thing you notice is that the staff are fantastic and the decor is unique and inviting! The staff are warm, friendly, courteous, just really adds to the experience when you have excellent service. They're all dressed so nicely, I especially like seeing one guy wear a wooden bowtie--now if that doesn't take it up a notch, I don't know what does! Then, they always bring you fresh fruit shooters along with a bottle of water. Then they go over the special of the day. Now for the food, here's a detailed review of the plates I've tasted so you can decide if you want it. Just a heads up--there is no dish that I didn't love. CHAMPI--savory saucy mushrooms over hearty bread with cheese and poached eggs. It's eaten with a toothed knife. Satisfying, savory and good to the last bite. DORÉ--for the sweet tooth in you. The plate is simple and delicious GAUFRÉ--this is my FAVORITE dish so far! It's a perfect blend of delicately sweet and savory. The corn waffle brings sweetness to the dish, the gravlax with the salty, the cream cheese with the richness and the tomato salsa and pickled onions bring the punch! CHOCOLAT--another sweet breakfast but for chocolate lovers. The candied oranges help lighten the flavor and you can't help but wonder how this is even legal to eat for breakfast :D GRILLED CHEESE--hearty walnut and pistachio bread with melted cheese and caramelized onions served with a side of fresh salad in light vinaigrette and mango chutney. Delicious. I only didn't like the mashed potatoes they were too salty and peppery. Scotch Egg--this was the only thing that I wasn't a fan of because the meat was a bit spicy. Duck sausage--surprisingly not fatty! So go ahead and add it as a protein side to your dish! Vanilla white chocolate drink--perfect to complement a savory breakfast. It's fairly light. Salty dark chocolate milk--just for those not expecting it, the flavor is predominantly salty dark chocolate. You won't find the usual sweetness that you may expect. Nice to complement a sweet breakfast. Overall, I'm in love with this breakfast place and will 100% go back again...and again...and again! Cheers!

Such a different type of breakfast restaurant. All the food was absolutely amazing. You can't go wrong with any of these plates. The service was perfect. We got little samples of smoothie and banana butter. The waiter was charming and knowledgeable. The place was abit loud though.

This place is out of the way in a residential neighborhood with nothing much going on. There's consistently a line outside but don't fret, it moves along pretty quickly. We were sat at a communal table but did not feel cramped. Before we even ordered, they started us with a juice shot. It was very refreshing. I ordered the pear and raspberry cocktail which was tart and delicious but way too thick. It felt more like a chunky smoothie than a juice. I ordered the grilled cheese with duck confit. I added a scotch egg on the side because how often can you order one? My girlfriend ordered the Champi which was basically the scotch egg, bread and mushrooms. Everything was delicious and the food was plentiful. My only two minor comments is that the potatoes was undersalted and the cocktail was too thick. Overall I'd come here again.

Made reservations for this cafe the second I saw it being recommended on TripAdvisor. What caught my eyes were the scotch eggs which I've only had it one other time in London, which I enjoyed a lot. The day came and we decided to come two hours earlier than our reservation, which they were fine with. This was around 9AM on a Monday. There were no lines at this time and was able to get seated right away. I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence, but there was a lot of detours surrounding this establishment. We were able to find parking on the big street, but it is only 1 hour parking which was enough time for us. We ordered the Gaufre and Canard which comes with duck instead of salmon. This was an easy choice considering how much we love duck. It comes with a poached egg, but we wanted the scotch egg so we ordered that on the side. Prior to ordering our meals, our waitress offered us a shot of their juice cocktail of the day, which was a mixture of apple, raspberry, and basil. I loved it so much I had to order a glass. So refreshing and delicious! The food came out and it looked exquisite. There were many components to the dish that paired very well together. Our waitress even gave us plates to split without having us to ask her for it. The scotch eggs was AMAZING. If I thought the ones in London were amazing, then this was out of the world. This is definitely fried more. Dip it in ketchup and it tastes even better (probably a very American thing to do?) - whichever your heart desires I guess! My friend and I split everything and was enough food for us, but then again we don't have big appetites. On top of the amazing food, the service was the best of the best. I loved our waitress so much! She was friendly and came out to check up on us in a very well-paced manner. I wish I got her name because she deserves the credit. The cafe itself is well decorated and it was comfortable to sit here. I had such a great experience here that I want to come back already! Everybody was so great at the restaurant and food/drinks were memorable. I will never forget my experience here.

Great Food, Great Services, Great ambiance. Well worth the visit. Eggs Beef Benny were delightful and perfect in every way. Now the Onion rings was not necessary as they fast food oily addition. but regardless it was excellent

The Real Matante. Pass the front curtain ar Régine Café and you're in an authentic French bougie antique brunchfast joint, & all the hip kids are going. While sippin' on Mimosas & munchin' on Homemade hazelnut doughnut holes, Jacky got the chef's inspiration of the day: a puff pastry topped with swiss cheese, asparagus, cherry tomatoes & a sunny side up egg. On the side, caramelized bacon, special mashed potato & arugula. TA-BAR-NAC!! & not to forget their special cinnamon bun with its decadent sauce. Service was friendly & helpful, & Price is a little higher than the standard. There's No parking, the space is tight & always packed, but Jacky loved his "salut la visite" to Auntie Régine. Amazing brunch. I got the croissant sandwich which was so flaky and the scrambled eggs were perfection. The brisket eggs benedict was so flavourful and the brisket was tender but unfortunately the muffin was a bit hard and dry. The scotch eggs were decent but nothing super special and probably not worth getting. The savoury french toast was fantastic though as the bread was thick and fluffy with a subtle hint of sweetness which worked well with the fried egg and ham.

Loved the entire experience. I sat by the bar and got wonderful tips for which food to order by the male server. The food and service was great; Friendly staff and good service which I have to say overall is hard to find in Montreal ( from where I went as a vacationer ) My favorite part of my breakfast was the scotch egg , I have never had it before and it simply made me smile . I wish I could get it FedEx to NYC.

Food here was exceptional, but be prepared to wait. I came here with my fiancé last Friday for brunch, at 11am. There was already a line. They have drinking water available outside, and occasionally someone would come out and offer bite size of their cinnamon buns while we waited. I thought that was super sweet and thoughtful. Although I do think they can be more efficient with seating people quicker. We waited about 45 mins, but for at least 15 mins there was an empty table for 2. Guess what, we ended up sitting there. They could've seated us 15 mins earlier. Not sure what the hold up was for. Aside from the unorganized seating, service was great. The staff was super attentive. On another note, yelp currently say they don't take reservations but I saw a lot of people going in with reservations.

I was treated to brunch here by a friend for my birthday. It was in the middle of the week in July, however, there was still a 10-20 minute lineup at the entrance. I have to admit, I was impressed by the decor and ambiance of Regine Cafe. As soon as I entered, all my senses were delighted: the aroma of baked goods and eggs benedict filled my nostrils; my eyes were drawn to the upscale and opulent adornments that decked out the restaurant, etc. The waiter was very friendly and courteous. She provided service with tact. The menu was also very creative: they offer imaginative drinks and breakfast/brunch items. I personally ordered a latte and a "croquette" (which is a salmon cake, with yogurt tartar sauce, poached egg, and greens). Both items were delectable. All in all, it was a great experience. If you want to pamper yourself, or impress a date, this is a great choice! You won't be disappointed by the food, and the atmosphere is very easy on the eyes.

One of my new favourite brunch spots! I've been meaning to try this place for ages but the lines on the weekend are very long (and for good reason!). Finally the opportunity came up to go to brunch on a Monday. Service was prompt and polite and the interior is so cozy. They have a great menu and it was difficult to decide which dish to pick. I went for the sandwich, which consisted of scrambled eggs, avocado, tomato and caramelized mushrooms and onions on a homemade brioche bun. It came with fruit and mashed potatoes. It was delicious! I also ordered a cappuccino, which was excellent and they bring a complimentary juice of the day. Today was a freshly squeezed basil, pineapple and passion fruit juice. I definitely want to go back to try so many other dishes, I think its worth waiting in line!

More of a 4.5 than a 4. The ham was the only low point, everything else was great. The sucre à la crème with the french toast was wild. The bacon, delicious. In the pastries, the roll and crumpets were great but the scone changed my life forever. It all came super cutely packaged through skip the dishes. The order even included a playlist link, they're really looking out for you.

Our visit to Regine Cafe while on vacation in Montreal was an experience worth doing at least once. When we arrived at 11:15am on Saturday, there was a line around the corner of the block, but we decided to wait it out based on the reviews and pics from Yelp. We waited about 45 minutes in line (the restaurant provided rosemary citrus water during our wait). Once we were admitted we were taken straight to our table which was ready and gave an excellent view of the interior. Immediately we recieved a small shot of Basil, Raspberry, and Strawberry juice, which was very refreshing. Our server (Liliane) immediately introduced herself and asked if we preferred English (which we appreciated as we don't speak very much French), the menus are in both languages too. We ordered a Latte and an Espresso which came quickly and were excellent. We ordered the Chic Croissant and the Gaufre & Canard, along with Crumpets and Bacon Jam. The Crumpets were okay, a bit dense and thick for my tastes. Should be a bit more bread-like, less like a biscuit and thinner. Bacon jam was flavorful but simple. I had the Gaufre & Canard. The duck confit and corn waffle combination was decadent with each part executed with skill. The waffle could have been slightly more crisp, which would help it stand up a little more under the other ingredients, but as a whole the dish was excellent. My wife had the Chic Croissant which was also good and well executed.

***6 stars again! And another 6 for the host*** After my positive experience at Cafe Régine last time, I decide to go back again when I visit Montreal again! I made a reservation on Wednesday at 12pm, but our table is not yet ready despite we had made the reservation. The host was extremely apologetic and came to us frequently with the update of our table. He was so gracious and brought us water and their famous brioche while we wait. After when we got our table, the host brought us another treat, home made raspberry donuts (see pic). This is what I call service in which other high end establishment cannot compare. To the host, reading this review, "Merci beaucoup!" Our brunch meal was perfect, everyone in my party loves their dish. Will definitely come back again, "a bientot, a la prochaine!"

This place is 150% worth the wait! I was completely blown away by the service and the food! We arrived at 9:30 am on a sunny Saturday. There were already a good 20 people in front of us. The staff promptly took our names. They had a water jug outside with citrus mint water. A staff member even came out during the wait and gave us cinnamon bun tasters! Once we finally got in after over an hour, we were greeted with a small welcome juice. Our order was taken, and the food arrived within 5 mins. We thought it couldn't possibly be ours because it arrived so quickly! I got the sale sucre (brioche with pulled ham, cheddar, and a sort of maple butter. I put a poached egg instead of a sunny side up egg) my friend got the champi with a side of spinach béchamel sauce. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection!!!! For dessert we ordered a croissant bread pudding cake with a pistachio layer in the middle. We were STUFFED already, but once we had a bite we knew we had made the right decision! They were nice enough to put it in a to go box. I would recommend splitting this because the slice is large and a bit pricy at $7. Overall. You've gotta go, but go with someone who doesn't mind a wait...

Not a 4 for Régine?! Well, yes it's so crowded. I had trouble enjoying my breakfast. Can you really relax and enjoy your bits when through the window people are melting away under the sun envious of your plate? The content of your plate is a sure 4 if not 5 stars. It's excellent. But I had the impression to be in the middle of a storm.

One of my favourite breakfast/brunch places that I've ever had! Our friends had raved about this place and I can totally see why. Please open one up in Toronto! Pros: - Food: The food here is so good! Everything was made fresh and portions were huge! You will definitely not leave here hungry! I think for the price, it is well worth your money for the experience and food quality you get. - Decor: The decor of the restaurant is so cute. You can see everyone just taking pictures all the time. Very modern! - Service: Our server was great, very nice and helped us pick what we wanted to get. All of our food came out at the same time. Cons: - Line ups: If you are going for breakfast, be prepared to leave earlier to stand in line. When our group went, the line up was around the corner. Fortunately, the servers came out with small snacks and flavoured water for the people waiting in line. - Parking: Unfortunately, no parking for this restaurant. We had to park on the street and walk to the restaurant. Foods/Drinks I like: - Gros Jambon - Un Peu De Tout - Champi with Scotch Egg

Amazing spot for brunch. Nice food and really good service. We ordered champi and croquette. They were both delicious and delicate.

If you want to eat at Regine Cafe, be prepared to wait a long time in the lineup outside. We went there on a cold early December Sunday, hoping there would be a smaller lineup. We still waited 30mins outside in the freezing cold. Perhaps lineups are less long during weekdays. Customers are offered hot tea and blankets while they wait but it's still painful. On the bright side, it gets a lot better once you're inside! Good selection of brunch plates & different coffees. There are options without eggs for those who aren't big fans. Great atmosphere & nice service. Cool decor too. Enjoy!

TLDR: worth the wait, food and service are exceptional. I am not surprised at all about why everyone is raving about this place. Yes the location is quite inconvenient and yes the line is quite hellish, but I think it's still worth making the trip notwithstanding the torture of waiting. Service: I do want to mention the service I received here. The waitress was very polite and accommodating. We had ordered the candy café which we found wayyyy to sweet. At the end of our meal, we told our waitress and she waived the café off our bill and offered us complimentary coffee to go. This is an example of great service and what all the restaurants should aspire to offer. Food: the brunch food here is quite unique. I find their food to be very light and well thought out. It's a bit different from the traditional bacon and eggs. I took the Gros Jambon and it was yummy!

This was my first time coming here for brunch. I heard a lot of good things from different people and wasn't at all disappointed. We tried the Gaufré and the Oeuf et Boeuf for our main meals. The beef was super tender and delicious, the scotch egg that comes with it was so amazing that I was tempted to order a few more eggs. However, overall, I enjoyed the Gaufré more; I have a soft spot for anything gravlax and theirs was delicious in combination with the pickled onions and waffles. For dessert we got the yogurt brûlé and the dessert of the day. The yogurt was very yummy and the pistachio dessert of the day, which was only 7$, was huge and delicious. The matcha latté was very well made, frothy and the design was super cool too. My only advice for people coming is to be prepared to wait in line to get a seat, especially if you come on weekends as they don't accept reservations.

Hands down the best brunch place in Montreal. Consequently, there will always be a line but its worth the wait (if it ia raining they will even offer umbrellas). I had the scotch eggs but tried pretty much everything from the menu as we went a big group. Definitely do get the benedict with mushrooms and the scones with english cream on the side.

Had I not researched for Montreals top brunch spots I would've never came across this gem since it was a bit far out from the area we stayed in but it is so worth the drive. Their breakfast poutine is to die for! I am a semi picky eater and was a bit intimated reading the description but when in Canada I decided to experiment and the server highly recommended and I am so glad I tried it! This was one of my favorite poutines I had in Canada and believe me I had a lot to choose from! The croissant was good but nothing special. It's a really cute and trendy place. The service is great and don't forget the yummy mimosas!

One of my fave brunch place in MTL. Everything is delicious and the items on the menu aren't the typical brunch food. You can get salmon croquette, mushrooms, trout gravlax, scottish egg, etc. They also have gluten free options and lactose free drinks. The place is nicely decorated and has a fancy tea place ambiance. It's perfect for chilling with friends. The staff is friendly and nice and the wait time to get the food isn't long. Brace yourself for some line up, especially during the weekends.

I've finally had a chance to visit Regine Cafe after biking pass it many times over the years. There was a long line up on weekends so anticipate at least a 15+ minute wait if you come in the afternoon. Good: It's a cute looking spot with a vintage vibe, I can see why there are so many people. The complimentary smoothie shots was a nice touch. The service was courteous and quick, no issues there. The plating and presentation looks really appetizing, and that's about it. Bad: Okay, I was super excited that I ordered the chocolate waffle with candied oranges, pistachios and mascarpone cream. When the waitress brought my plate, my eyes just widened with excitement. What a fantastic combination of flavors...except the waffle was the driest thing I've ever ate. I thought it was in my head, so I've made my friend try it too, and even he agrees (He's worked in brunch spots before, so this is his area of expertise.) No one came to check up on us, as I would've like to send back my cardboard waffles. I don't know if they accidentally served me a gluten free batch or something, but it was so unpleasant, I just ate the toppings and washed it down with water. I didn't think it would be possible for a brunch spot to mess up a batter, but I guess it is possible. Bottom line: My friend's meal was fine, I enjoyed half of my meal. Would I come back again? Maybe if someone asks, sure, I'll probably order something else, but this brunch spot is not going to be my first choice. I don't trust their batter.

For muslims: I recommend "un peu de tout" and "champi". "un peu de tout" might be enough for 2 if you are not food dragons. I ordered champi with extra duck meat and it was great. I was amazed with the servers as they were really understanding and helpful. They were helpful when it came to my dietary restrictions.
