Red Garden Food Paradise

A very well set up foodcourt in the middle of bustling George Town. Spacious and clean, with a lively ambience and a wide range of Penang and other regional Asian cuisines on offer. Foodies would be spoiled for choice!!! We tried a dinner for 4 pax and thoroughly enjoyed the Thai Food dishes we had with rice. The Thai owner is super nice and friendly, and we understand the cooks are all also Thai, which perhaps explains the truly authentic Thai taste of the food we ordered. The Japanese Egg Tofu, Bean Paste Fried Morning Glory, and Chilli Basil Minced Pork dishes were sumptuous but special mention must be given to the gloriously tasty Tom Yum soup!! This stall does a magnificent creamy and sour version of Thailand's iconic soup. Must be tried to be believed. Also had nicely charcoal-grilled satay on the side. Beverages wise, the iced tea (teh peng) was perfectly blended, with the milky and tea flavours well balanced. We'll be back soon to try the other cuisines, ranging from North Indian (Mughali style food?) to Vietnamese and even Taiwanese. A delicious outing indeed.

We've been here a few times. It's always easy to get a seat and it has a nice atmosphere. There is plenty for choice for all different goods, and at a reasonable price. They also have buckets of cold beers.

Very convenient when you want to have a taste of all local Penang dishes under one roof with multi food stalls/food court. Of course not all dishes were cooked with authentic tastes because the venue kind of aim for travelers. But hey the tastes are still good. And plus they have live music where local aunties and uncles come to dance and sing. A nice local vibe. You order at the stalls and they serve and ask for payment at your table. A must try is the nasi lemak fried chicken. (We wanted other kinda but they were sold out. So we can only imagine how good they would be) The coconut rice were fragrant and the chicken freshly cooked crisp and still juicy in the inside to almost perfection. Yum!

This food court offers a lot of food varieties sold by different stalls. 9pm onwards, there is a live band that performs till late at night. They also have a small area next to the stage for dancing. Customers partake and even foreigners join in the fun. Loved the whole hype and will definitely come back again.

Plenty choice of food here and various type of food. You can easily get a table here. The crowd tend to build up after 8pm. There are road side parking available, but if there is none you can opt to park at the open car park and it is walking distance to this place.

Unlike when I visited a few years ago, many people come out and dance. It's quite nice to see the elderly dancing happily. Several singers take turns stage, and the accompanist's skills are quite good. Food: Fried Oysters: Not recommended, Pork Porridge: Not recommended, Chicken Wings: Highly recommended, Lamb Satay: Good, Ikan Bak Ka: Average, Char Que Tiao: Good, Thai Yum Woon Sen: Highly recommended, Thai Grilled Pork: Average, Beer and other drinks. The staff are busy so you have to call them several times.
