Ravintola Skörd

A nice small, cosy restaurant. We made a reservation but at least on the day we went (Monday evening), it seemed like some walk-in were possible. The food was exceptional. Highly recommend it. For two people, it is quite good to select one 6 course and one 4 course menu and to share the extras received on the 6 course. Although if sufficiently hungry, 6 courses works out well. The soup, mains, and parsnip dessert were certainly the highlights. Would love to return here one day...

Our first meal after arriving in Helsinki today and one of the best meals I've had anywhere in the world. Each dish is presented with the story of how the ingredients were sourced, did I mention everything comes from Finland and only from what's grown outside or lives in the wild. If you're in Helsinki even for just one night you've got to try this!!

What an absolute delight and amazing experience. Everyone who works here really lives for the concept and ideas of this restaurant. It's farm to table - and it's Finnish cuisine. I cannot emphasise how much of a highlight this was for me in Helsinki. Everything is local and seasonal - the menu changes accordingly. We did take the 6 course menu and we were beyond happy we did. The berry wine was a huge surprise and I will definitely explore this more after the experience at Skörd. Thanks for making it such an incredible evening!

Tried the 6-meal course accompanied with a variety of excellent berry wines. An excellent culinary experience with great flavors in every plate. The only thing that bothered me slightly was the fact that the cutlery was on the table touching it directly and not on a napkin first. But that was just something minor for me. Really worth the visit though!

An interesting set menu of locally sourced ingredients + berry wine flight. The staff is really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Gooseberry sparkling wine and raspberry dessert wine were excellent!

This is what you want! Take your time (no choice there, it's a "restaurant experience" pace). The courses are all meticulously put together. Not every dish reaches ethereal technical level, but they're all done with solid craft and good flavour combinations. The Berry wines and local drinks fare quite well, especially when matched. The service is so friendly, you'll wonder if you've all met before somewhere. Be warned if hard seating for 150 minutes is an issue for you. Bring a cushion. I was taken back to detention at school...and that was medieval. But it's a great little experience of what goes on in Finland, when you care about what you eat. Expect to spend €90-150 per person, depending on what you drink.

Skörd is a cool local-concept restaurant in downtown Helsinki! The local-only ingredient concept is genius, and they get creative with their use of herbs and other natural flavors to compensate for the lack of spices and seasoning. Each Nordic-inspired dish is refined without being pretentious. The owner's passion for the food's origins is contagious, and the service is warm and inviting. Plan for a leisurely evening (3.5 hours from start to finish), and enjoy every delicious moment!

Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Booked it as I loved the idea of eating an entire meal made with ingredients from the country we were visiting - but the meal itself surpassed all expectations. From the attentive and lovely, knowledgeable service, to the menu, technique and flavours - just a really excellent dining experience. Everything was delicious and balanced but the carrot entree and deer main were absolute standouts. I was also very grateful to be able to try a couple of the local Finnish berry wines before finding one I really liked (the delicious sparkling!). Very good value given the quality of the meal and the 2 additional “kitchen welcome” courses on top of the 6 course menu. Cannot recommend highly enough! A must visit in Helsinki.
