"A testament to owners (and real-life couple) Ted Vadakan and Angie Myung’s creativity and taste, this color-happy shop in Little Tokyo somehow manages to look entirely different from visit to visit. While the core categories—home décor, stationery, accessories, and kids—stay the same, the assortment is constantly updated to keep up with the latest and greatest in design and still meet Poketo’s playful aesthetic. Expect to find Japanese stationery, tabletop pieces from Danish firm HAY, beautiful art books, and so much more. There's also a sister location in Culver City and in The Line Hotel."

"Poketo founders Ted Vadakan and Angie Myung—partners in business and in life—have a whimsical aesthetic that’s all their own, and their shop in the Line Hotel explodes with color and a sense of playfulness. We’re usually tempted by everything here, whether it’s the beautifully illustrated notebooks, a stack of richly patterned textiles, or a set of quirky ceramic mugs. It’s clear that much thought has gone into the store’s curation, but at the same time, nothing is taken too seriously, and you can sense the joy Vadakan and Myung must have had finding everything. We rarely leave empty-handed."

Not gonna lie but I feel like I got got. Purchased these pens thinking they had bright ink. I was mistaken. Then pens are all black ink. How did I miss this?? After opening the pack I noticed "Black Ink" written on the bottom in the back, unfortunately these words are COVERED by a flap that have the price sticker so you can't see the words unless you open the package. Open the packages. Read it all Don't make the same mistake.

Finally made it out to a Poketo store! It was smaller than anticipated, but had a great selection of stationery and home goods.

Great place to grab some truly unique and tasteful gifts. The kind employee here had just locked up when I ran up to get my pre-ordered goods! Convenient spot on the corner in Little Tokyo. Very highly recommended.

I love this store! For some reason Google Plus inaccurately categorizes it as a clothing store--it is so much more than that! This is one of my favorite places to shop for gifts, for all sorts of occasions, but also to treat myself to something fun. They stock great paper goods, and have stylish housewares and accessories. I've also bought great baby gifts here, as well as jewelry and books. One day I will get around to signing up for one of their fun diy workshops!

So unique. AND I like that they have the most unique gifts if you need to pick something up for a baby shower. They have a really small selection of clothing but they're all really tasteful. Book, nick-nacks, candles, other things that you didn't know you need and suddenly find yourself needing them, ya, this store will do that to ya.

One of my favorite gift shops in DTLA and Little Tokyo. Lots of unique albeit pricier items. I especially LOVE their paper products. I’m addicted to their planners and have been going to Poketo for my planners for years now - Everything from the colors to the interior layout and thoughtful structure and space and yes I’m still talking about their planners. Love em.

Adorable shop right in the middle of Little Tokyo. Went here just to pick up some unique birthday cards for friends and family and so happy I did. Stocked with a ton of other gifts and special goodies too that definitely scream local as well, definitely a must stop by!
