Point Arena Lighthouse

My husband and I went on a Full moon tour back in June and it was incredible way to spend our first day married. I highly recommend visiting. We enjoyed a very beautiful presentation all the way to the top of the lighthouse.

This was an amazing visit. We were there for the first time, staying at timeshare resort nearby..wow it was magnificent overall. Jeff was amazing who welcomed us. He was quite friendly and knowledgeable...not much on those at the store's register employees who were not even smiling or engaged with customers. I was not even given a receipt for my purchase, anyway i dropped some on the tip/donation bucket. Well the 5 rating because of Jeff's excellent service and the beauty of this location. It was a cute, well stocked gift shop. The one at the gate was worth mentioning, she was quite welcoming and engaged. The whole trip although briefly was breathtaking...

Fun stop. At this time it was $5 for the museum and $5 for the tour. We got to go up to the top where the lens would have been and then out on the balcony! We got lucky and the coast guard helicopter landed nearby to refuel and use the restroom. The guys said this doesn't happen often! The guys in the helicopter waved when they left for Ukiah. The nearest helicopter is in Humboldt. 🤗

Just a nice place to visit on a clear day at the coast. Lots of interesting history. We parked just outside the entrance gate and had a nice 10 minute stroll to the light house with dramatic views of the coast and breakers below the bluff.

Overall, great experience. Beautiful views, nice and quiet and relaxed. Cool weather, sunny, foggy, typical Northern California coast weather. Cutlery would be nice in the rooms ... Love the dog/pet towels. Coffee creamer options and a newer coffee pot would make this place perfect.

We stayed at the Bookkeeper's Room and found the photos and website description to be accurate. We had a great view of the lighthouse itself and being on a peninsula meant short walks to lots of beautiful views. In booking, we mentioned that we don't drink alcohol and were pleased to discover nonalcoholic beverages awaiting us. My one concern was that we had requested a king bed, which is made by pushing together the twin beds. I have had this experience at other locations and found them less than ideal. Here the twin beds are covered with a king mattress topper that really does create one bed. Our room was small, but well equipped and thoughtfully arranged to make the most of the space. |This is a natural setting, so if you leave your door open, you may have unintended visitors. We visited in July, which was an escape from the heat of our hometown, but did mean there was a lot of fog.

I didn't stay here but I visited the light house on a beautiful day. It is a wonderful thing to do on a sunny day. It is a great deal for $5 entrance fee and $5 for the light house tour.

We had a day trip to the lighthouse and it was awesome despite an overcast morning. There is so much history and we unknowingly found out it was the tallest on the west coast was pretty cool. Going all the way to the top is totally worth it. I'm scared as hell of heights but was able to do it and it was absolutely worth it.
