"A cute, family-owned, authentic Italian restaurant off the main strip in a quaint neighborhood. The staff actually speaks Italian to each other. We love their brick oven pizzas. Our favorites are the Prosciutto, Siciliana, Bresaola and Pizza D’Estate. We've heard the Funghi pizza with the addition of Prosciutto is heaven on a plate (it's next to try). Our favorite pasta is the Pesto with Grilled Chicken - so many simple flavors but put together, they are delicious. You can dine in or eat on their patio in the summer. Tip: Make a reservation in advance if you’re going on the weekend. Oh and don’t forget to bring your drink of choice since they’re a BYOB!" - Knoed Creative

If you are looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, look no further than Pizza Art Cafe. I went there with my friends, from the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and it was hard to choose just one. We started with Bruschetta, which was fresh and bursting with flavor. We later opted pizza and pastas which was cooked to perfection. To top off the evening, we indulged in the tiramisu for dessert. Overall, Pizza Art Cafe exceeded our expectations in every way. The service was awesome. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or just craving some delicious Italian food, this place is a must visit.

Went last night with a friend, we could not stop eating. I liked the owner’s take on bruschetta, ćevapčići were among the best ones I have had in this city, and the pizza Bosniaca was a nice discovery as well. Everything was fresh and very flavorful, service quick and unobtrusive, the ambient nice and cozy. Will be back soon!

Google
I love Pizza Art Cafe. And eventually, maybe, I'll get enough of their delicious coal fired pizza to venture into the rest of the menu! The smoked beef is top notch and a great substitute for the other smoked meats available. I love the white pizza as a dessert pizza, the pears and gorgonzola are a great alternative. That is unless of course, you want to save room for the Tiramisu!

Google
What happened to this place? Brought my mother with, told her they had good cevapi here. We waited 45+ minutes only for the food to come undercooked. Time before this the pizza was undercooked, I just assumed it was a fluke but I guess this place really has gone downhill. Shameful

Google
Best date spot ever. The Greek pizza is my absolute favorite. Plus BYOB! Worth the trip to Lincoln Square if you don’t already live there.

Google
Ordered pizza for takeout. Tasty, with a pita-like crust. Brick oven style. Very friendly. Looks like the outside area is nice, as is the inside. That strip of Rockwell is very nice. Recommend stopping by.

Google
Great family place. It’s BYOB. Service was very attentive. Table next to use was very boisterous but we were still able to have a normal conversation at our table. Everyone liked the food, which was very rustic and homemade. The brick oven pizza was a rustic version of the Neopolitan style: with a slightly thicker homemade dough and more toppings. I prefer thinner and with less toppings but everyone else liked the hardy portions. I will be coming back with friends on a regular basis.

Delicious! Has the best pizzas. They are thin and full of flavor. Also... Guess what? They have legit Serbian food! What!?! So unexpected, so good!

Lucian F.

Yelp
I went here for my birthday and it was delicious! Our server was great despite being extremely busy. I loved the ambiance! Had a cozy, intimate feel. Definitely coming back. So glad I went here for my birthday!

Swati B.

Yelp
Delicious salads and pizza! Have enjoyed this neighborhood spot every single time we visit!

Robert P.

Yelp
Pizza was good. nothing earth-shattering, but good. And the place is close-by. Service was dismal. I had to bus our table myself twice and it did not faze the owner who was talking to some other customers at the NEXT table! I asked for the check several times; asked for pepper flakes and was ignored. Got up again to snatch them from an empty table. C'mon, I'm not asking for white-glove service, just come out to the front and see if your tables need something!

Yelp
Located around the corner from the former governor's home, is this tiny pizza gem. The service is rather lukewarm, however everything else is perfect. It is a woodfired brick pizza oven, they smoke their own meat toppings and they have a variety of cheese choices beyond traditional mozz. Parking is simple, but tables are small and there isn't much space for groups. The salads and other entrees looked delicious and fresh but how can you not order the pizza?

Deborh L.

Yelp
Had two thin pizzas delivered. The delivery was the best part. Soggy crust, misshaped, and flavorless. Keep your $60 (!!!). Better yet, if you're in the Lincoln Square order from anywhere but this place.

Muhamed M.

Yelp
The food is simply awesome. The cevapi are fire! If you expect fast food service here don't come. It's a very chill, small comfortable, privately owned place with two waitresses at most so expect to wait a little when they are busy, but enjoy some good wine and chill with friends, the food is worth it.

Scott A.

Yelp
I really enjoyed their bruschetta. It was simple and fresh. I really haven't had better. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza which was really good. Even though we are from a neighboring state I will be sure to visit when we are in Chicago. If you find yourself near Pizza Art be sure to stop.

Christopher T.

Yelp
Consistently a very good and creative pizza place. They do a more authentic pizza that is very thin and delicious. No deep dish here but try three different types for the price of one deep. I can't give a favorite because they are all so different and have never not liked what they make. Also they have a nice outdoor seating area and the staff has always been quite nice.

Camille K.

Yelp
Best meatballs I have ever had. The dish was so delicious! The pizza tastes very fresh and homemade, also. Service is a little off. I live in the neighborhood and I'm very sad I waited so long to go here!

Steve L.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this was overall a disappointing experience. First, the positives...This is a comfy, warm and welcoming space. We came as a family, and there were also other families who were enjoying their dinner. Service wasn't the best. It appears they had one server on duty for the entire restaurant, and she seemed overwhelmed. She wasn't helpful with our order, because I think she had maybe 5 other tables to attend. I'm quite confident the owner or manager was on duty. But, he only seemed concerned with one table, that I assume were friends or family of his. It was very frustrating to see the owner or manager spend his entire time with one table of 4 people. This is your business, and you need to concern yourself with all in attendance. Our Caprese salad had neither olive oil or balsamic vinegar on it, nor we believe even had any salt or pepper. The buffalo mozzarella itself was super high quality, so it's a shame it was left to die. The pizza was a bit soggy and salty. The bolognese was NOT consistent with the style. And the pasta was severely overcooked. The potatoes from the chicken entree were cold, and probably not heated. I'm sad because this appears as a "family joint." But, if the owner isn't making sure things are going well, that doesn't matter. I wish all small neighborhood restaurants the best, but you have to create your own luck.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Now serving breakfast. Service was great and their crepes and pastries were delicious. We will be back soon to try their savory pies.

Beatrice M.

Yelp
Great pizza, salads and pasta. Just a lovely and affordable place!! Nice neighborhood hub. Do not hesitate to go there, you'll love it!!

Ruby R.

Yelp
You must be effing joking. Ordered a pepperoni pizza. It has a few pieces of pepperoni around the perimeter of the pizza. Maybe 6 pieces. It's both too salty and too sweet to eat. It's also soggy. There is no excuse for pizza this bad in Chicago.

Christian C.

Yelp
The food is OK- nothing bad but nothing special. I found the bruschetta very hard to eat while keeping the toppings on. The seafood risotto was good but quite heavy. The Siciliana pizza was good but had barely any red peppers on it compared to other toppings.

Jessica D.

Yelp
This place never disappoints! They have the best margherita pizza. Their bruschetta is my fave! Service is great as usual! Can't wait to go back.

Asja D.

Yelp
You have a pizza my heart- wait until you try their bruschetta, you'll be saying the same! My friend and I came here relatively late for dinner- 8:10 pm on a Wednesday. I love their outdoor patio so when my friend and I saw it was opened, we went for it. The one downside to this location is that it's located less than a block away from a brown line station. Luckily the brown line doesn't run as frequently in the evening so it's not as disruptive to your dinner plans. Otherwise, this restaurant is located in a quiet and quaint neighborhood and is truly an amazing place to come for an intimate dinner with either friends or significant other. There was some kind of construction going on when my friend and I went but it wasn't enough to disturb our dinner. We could talk without being disrupted by the noise. The waitress came over almost immediately and asked us if we would like something else to drink. We said no and ordered the bruschetta first while we had a chance to look through the menu. We waited leas than ten minutes for their signature bruschetta. Dear Lord have mercy. Let me tell you, I love garlic so I love anything drenched in olive oil and garlic. The aroma of this bruschetta is enough to take you back to any Mediterranean country in a heartbeat. It is simply the best of the best. No other way to put it. In addition, the homemade bread was just begging for me to indulge. Fair warning, it's worth all the carbs and some. Also, the serving size is relative large and can be split into four for a party of four. My friend didn't eat her whole half (she ate a quarter) but she loved it! For our main entrees, I ordered the Greek salad with a side of chicken and my friend ordered the siciliana pizza. Pizza art is known for their pizzas (in case the name didn't give it away hahaha) and if you didn't know, they have a brick oven inside the restaurant. Hence why the quality of the pizza is the bomb.com! Pizza Art FTW!! The Sicilian could've had more cheese on it but the smoked meat on it was the topping to the cake. It was SO good!! The pizza is thin sliced and one small pizza could feed two people but my friend and I knew we couldn't eat two pizzas so we split one. For someone who could eat, one small pizza is good. Everything about the pizza was amazing. The pizza dough was made in house and all the ingredients were very fresh. I really thought I was back in Europe for a minute! The pizza coupled with the salad is the most amazing summer meal. I cannot praise this place enough but highly recommend you check it out!! Service: even though it was us and another couple to our left, our waitress wasn't as attentive as she could have been. I was a little annoyed that I had to get up and ask where she is or I had to wave her down. I shouldn't have to do that. She did come around when it was time to close the kitchen and asked us if we wanted to order something sweet. We declined. Overall, great place! Highly, highly, highly recommend!

Yelp
Sooo darn good! Got the crostini as a starter. My husband and I shared the bolognese pasta and cevapcici.

Christin O.

Yelp
This place makes me love pizza!! I got the bosniaca (2 pieces missing already because I couldn't wait). Delicious!! And I am really excited for my leftovers ;)

Emil P.

Yelp
This place definitely deserve higher rating on Yelp! I have been here 5-6 times hospitality was great, food amazing and also I like the neighborhood and railroad next to it. See you soon guys!

Regina P.

Yelp
I get the same 3 or 4 things every time I go here so I can't attest to everything they offer. However, when it comes to those things - they are delicious every time. Add to that they are BYOB and reasonable priced and I am a customer for life. Keep up the good work Pizza Art!

Edward C.

Yelp
Great place. We come here many Friday's! The pizza is always perfect! Our 5year old son loves coming with us to pick it up he jokes with the staff and they are always so nice. The pizza is great, service amazing! We've been for breakfast a few times and always find it great. This is an amazing local Ravenswood spot!

Sharon S.

Yelp
LOVE the roasted veggie pizza, bruschetta and salmon salad. Also have enjoyed the bolonese pasta and crostini. Glad to have this delicious restaurant in the hood !

Beth K.

Yelp
Pizza Art Cafe is alwaaaays amaaaaazing. The pizzas and salads are made with 100% whole, fresh ingredients. We love the prosciutto salad and the margherita pizza. These pizzas are homemade- you can see the cook making them up front. They are NOT going to be a perfect circle, with even toppings and 100% evenly cooked. That's what makes them AWESOME. If you want a frozen pizza circle, hit up your grocery store. The chef is hilarious and definitely won't remake your pizza if you want it to look more like an emoji. Trust me: this pizza is delicious and worth a trip to Lincoln Square. 1 pizza serves two people. BYOB and make sure you grab something from home or on the way because there isn't a place to get wine super close by.

Cris J.

Yelp
Food is amazing !! Any food you order is just super yummy .. pizzas here are top notch .. very good ambience.. friendly staff ! Small but not crowded at all .. best pizza here ever !

Tracey S.

Yelp
One of absolute favorite places for pizza in Chicago! If you love authentic Italian pizza baked in a wood-fired brick oven, you must check them out.

Tim S.

Yelp
BYOB Place was busy tonight, but to much so it was slow service. As usual the salads were huge and pizza splittable. Surprised we don't come here more often. Great date night place for a comfortable meal, we typacally split a salad to start then a pizza second as we enjoy conversation.

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Pizzas are perfection here and taste great! Very cozy indoors and especially relaxing outside during summer on patio. And BYOB! Only reason I give 3 stars and not 4 is because there is no changing changing or accommodations for changing baby. Boo for that!

Hannah W.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Very intimate, cute and classy. The wood fired pizza is absolutely amazing and you can smell how good your meal is going to be just sitting in the restaurant. This place is BYOB and doesn't charge a cork fee which is awesome. We had a Greek salad and the bruschetta to share before the pizza which was amazing. The bruschetta bread is addictive but be careful because the bread is so yummy that you might fill up before the pizza!! I can't remember what the pizza was called that we got but it it had ham and ricotta in it and it was amazing. We also took leftovers home and the pizza tasted delicious days after we had gotten it. We are so exited to come back to this restaurant

Kristin V.

Yelp
I live down the street and have been going here for 5 years. I love this place and I have no idea why I didn't review it sooner! It is my absolute go to on Friday night for pizza!!!!! The food is spectacular. I have eaten the Spinach pizza (Spinaci), the Spaniard, the one with the egg on top with ham and artichokes (Capricciosa), and the one with Ricotta and smoked beef - get the BEEF (Pizza Lasagna), as well as others. Sooooooooooo good. We have also had numerous salads, the amazing Bruschetta - BE PREPARED FOR SOMETHING AMAZING, and desserts (Crepes and Canoles). The food is always A+++. I get carry out most of the time but have dined in several times as well. The service has been good, all but once when they were slammed, but I can understand some of the reviews with service comments. Doesn't matter, the food is so good that I don't even care! Yum yum yum. AND it is BYOB!

Kennedy P.

Yelp
very disappointing. while strolling through this lovely neighborhood we found what seemed to be a cute little hole in the wall, but frankly i wouldn't say so. food is gross, over all my experience seemed underwhelming and i wouldn't recommend anyone come here. save your time & money.

Bilja P.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best spots we discovered this year! The food is super good, fresh and so delicious. Highly recommending Bruschetta and Crostini. We keep coming back for good food, great ambient and of course oven baked pizza! Its BYOB and no cork charge therefore super good price too. P.s. cevapi is must!!!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Pizza art cafe has a nice atmosphere, the decorative pieces around and the bare red brick gave it a unique feel. I really wanted to like this place. However, the service was rude, slow, ill informed about the menu and inflexible with sharing dishes. We were told ordering a side dish alone wasn't possible and that the ten of us had to share a single check. Additionally, the question was asked to the waiter "do you do anything for birthdays" and the man ordered for us a very expensive desert without confirming if we wanted it and charged us. It seemed out of spite because we were a large group. Food was good, ambiance nice, service less than satisfactory.

Leslie T.

Yelp
This place is so unexpectedly wonderful! Their ingredients are so fresh and flavorful resulting in amazing pizza! It totally takes me back to when I ate my weight in pizza in Italy. Can't wait to try dining in post-Covid, but for now, their to-go pizzas will do just fine.

Shari B.

Yelp
I recently had dinner here and had a good meal. My friends and I ordered the pizza with prosciutto (choice of cooked in the cheese or just placed on top). It was delicious and very generous with the prosciutto. Other friends of ours ordered their own pizza which is more than enough for one person. Most of them brought home their extra slices. We were a very big group. So big that we had to split two tables as there were 13 of us total. Unfortunately with the size of our group, the pizzas came out as they were ready so it was a bit of a wait for ours which came out last.

Jean F.

Yelp
So delicious and the area makes you feel like you are in Paris. I even like the EL going by. Entertaining. Nothing but good here folks and BYOB. Lol.

Hannah R.

Yelp
One of our favs! Best bruschetta and wood oven pizzas in Chicago in our opinion. Make sure you book though if you can as even those it's a small little restaurant on a not-so-busy street, this place can be popular, especially on beautiful summer nights. It's byob so don't forget to bring a bottle of wine or beer. Have been driving across the city to come to this place for years and it's so worth it!

Mandy J.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. I've been here so many times and can't believe I'm just now getting around to writing a review for them. First, you MUST order the bruschetta. It should be a law. I don't even like feta, but this might make me a convert. It's enough to feed four as a starter, but you couldn't go wrong with eating it entirely by yo'self (no shame in the game). The pizzas are brick-oven and personal-sized. I suppose you could split a few between the table, as well. My personal fave is the prosciutto, with arugula thrown on after it comes out of the oven. I usually have a little leftover, which tastes just as good the next day. I've also tried their pastas (the pesto, especially, is amazing!). Lastly, I'd HIGHLY recommend you get the cannoli. The filling tastes much like cookie dough. Even if you take one bite and the rest goes home, you won't be sorry! As others have mentioned, this restaurant is BYOB. They do take reservations which, depending on the night, is absolutely necessary. They are very reasonably priced! Four of us met for dinner last night. We had the bruschetta (like, duh), three pizzas, and pasta. Total came to $72. We all went home with leftovers. You can't go wrong with that! Parking is relatively easy on the surrounding streets. I almost always find a spot on Rockwell, which is no permit and no meter.

Damian C.

Yelp
BYOB - fantastic. Cozy ambiance - excelente. Food variety - awesome. Service - hmph. With it's proximity to mine and my best group of friends' houses, it's a shock we haven't checked this place out over the years. Particularly since it's BYOB... I am a huge fan of BYOB establishments. I loved the setting. Dimly lit, warm and inviting. The only thing better would have been Summertime weather and patio seating. We were seated in a back corner booth. I am fairly certain that the table was turned the wrong way because it was unusually far from the seats, so I felt like we had to lean forward for comfort for most of the meal. The menu was - shocker - not just pizza. Pastas, salads, entrees, all sorts of excitement. But when it comes to a pizza place, you just gotta go with the pizza. And the 6 of us did, one for each. Prosciutto, spinaci, the pesto, the bresaola... and, of course, the highly talked about bruschetta to start. The bruschetta came out quickly and, if anything, this was the star of the show. They said it was made from pita bread, and it that's the case, it was the thickest puffiest pita bread I have ever seen. It was chock full of feta and tomatoes, and a great start to split 6 ways. I appreciated their take on this classic - unique and tasty without going overboard or too adventurous. Where things start to go awry is the service. Since 6 of us ordered pizzas, we expected the wait time to be a little longer so as to cater to other smaller parties, and probably because the oven is fairly small. Plus, we had so much wine with us, we were not in any type of rush. The pizzas came out a bit too staggered, over the course of 15 minutes or so. One came out first, followed by two more, then another, then one more, then, finally, the sixth. Not normally an issue if we were all sharing, but since we all went on our own, the first couple were finishing by the time the rest started coming. It was difficult to check in with the waitress, but when we did, we got the "yes, they'll be up shortly" type of response. I do not know what the capacity of their kitchen is but it would have been better to get things all at once, or with a bit less in-between time. But in the end, the food was good. The pesto, which was my pizza, was great. The crust was thin and crisp and one thing I liked is that the pizzas were a bit more well done. I had some of the bresaola and it was actually my favorite. Everyone was happy with their choices! As far as portions go, if you are moderately hungry you could finish a whole pie, and I definitely think that one would be too little for two people to split. Since it was BYOB the bill was minimal. That alone would get me to frequent this place more. More communicative service would have made the experience a little better. One last item I would be remiss of me not to mention. They desperately need a window for the door that leads from the dining room to the kitchen. A few near accidents happened right next to me which could have been a total disaster. Safety first!

Tammy C.

Yelp
Prosciutto pizza is great!! An interesting place. We really enjoyed ourselves. BYOB!

Eric W.

Yelp
We ordered a few takeout pizzas and they were great! Fresh ingredients and the wood fired oven make a big difference! A good neighborhood place (in an area with surprisingly not many pizza options) with an outdoor area that we'll need to try soon.

Christina Z.

Yelp
I love, love, love Pizza Art Cafe! Whenever I'm home, I always beg my parents to take me here! While this cafe is obviously known for its mouthwatering pizzas, we come here for the cevapcici and palacinke. I'm super picky about my cevapi (I'm Croatian), and Pizza Art Cafe has a great cevapi mix and they cook them to absolute perfection. They're juicy little sausages and are paired perfectly with kajmak and pita. It's a rare dish to find here in the States and Pizza Art does an incredible job. Pizza Art Cafe is super casual, and I believe they are still BYOB. Please make the stop and try the cevapi!!!

Mike T.

Yelp
Excellent food! I've been eating here for years and every time the food is fantastic. Highly recommend the crostini and the bruschetta as appetizers. Perhaps the best wood oven pizza I've had in the U.S. If you enjoy great food and BYO places you absolutely should check this place out.

Aneta B.

Yelp
Can't believe this place does not have 5 stars! It absolutely is consistent in the most delicious pizza! The mushroom one with porcini is seriously life changing. So excited to have moved into their delivery zone. Ordered delivery last night and everything was delicious, my husband loves the cevapi for a little taste of home (Bosnia).

Kara K.

Yelp
I love this place so much I came here two nights in a row this past weekend. Just take my money and give me your pasta. For some reason, the sometimes chilly attitude doesn't bother me, I don't take it personally. It's probably because they treat everyone the same and the food never suffers, so I don't care. Maybe if I become a regular I'll get hugs and kisses, but I don't really need that anyways. The bruschetta is ridiculous, just get it immediately. I had pesto one night, and loved it, and the next night, four of us split two pizzas, bruschetta, and pomodoro pasta all for $50. You just cannot beat that for a night out with friends!

Mary T.

Yelp
"I don't care where we go as long as it's not Pizza Art. After the horrendous last experience, I don't want to give them another dime." Normally, I wouldn't write an update for something that happened months ago, but the prospect of returning here for dinner still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Everything about the evening, except the company and the food, was so unbelievably foul, I see no reason to return. Chicago is a city of great food; I'll stick to places that know how to do food **and** service well. If you want a detailed explanation of everything that went wrong, I suggest you lookup Ericka A's review. Suck it Pizza Art, you're dead to me.

Theresa N.

Yelp
YUM!!! They came thru for us on a post airport run, the kitchen being open til 10 (but they will start closing down before that, so....). Our pizzas were delicious. I had the Spanish pizza, and husband had the one with artichokes and black olives...other stuff on it too but it is usually one ingredient (four in all) per quarter area of pizza. But we had them put the ingredients all over. Definitely European style pizza, not deep dish which was fine with us. Very nice place, cozy, lovely atmosphere, dimly lit but bright enough to see what you are doing.

Gijolive1 R.

Yelp
Reception it's terrible we called one day before and asked if we could bring a cake to celebrate a friend's birthday and they said we could when we walked in the owner was extremely rude and they said we couldn't bring the cake the cake really ruined the party and the night for us

Safet S.

Yelp
Amazing wood fired pizza! One of my favorite pizza restaurants in the city! Quiet, quaint, real italian style pizza with a cozy feel. Also, try their cevapcice (bosnian sausages) as an appetizer! Really good!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
This is a regular for us. Whether it's date night or dinner with one or more of our kids, we love this place. The pizzas are incredible, but so are their other menu items. And I love that they are byob!
