Peppas Jerk Chicken

I am so glad find this Down to earth restaurant opening at the neighborhood. They have fresh family meals made every day. Food is delicious. So many options like oxtail, fish, chicken and veggies. I highly recommend red snapper that is so crispy outside and juicy inside. Taste like home. Not to mention the service is superb and they offer delivery! I recommend everyone for every day meals.

In town visiting family and found this local gem. Given my Caribbean roots, I know good Caribbean food when I taste it, and this place is legit. Yes, it's a tad on the pricey side, but you won't be disappointed by your meal.

I came in to pick up an order but the guy (owner?) refused to serve me and won't give me the order. I waited 10 min. and finally another old lady came and gave me a tiny burger size container with some rice and a piece of chicken in it (see picture). Not what I paid for ($16). Either the guy was racist (he's black and I'm Asian) or he had a bad day. But not the way to treat a customer. I know because I'm 70. Won't never go there again. Horrible service, horrible experience. But there's a surprise ending: I went back to my car and was blocked by an ice cream truck. I waited for 10 min and was upset. Then the young driver came back with dinner he just bought near by. Nicely apologized. Then he said, "Hey want a cone?" I was surprised and said yes. He went to the back and made me an ice cream cone. We both laughed and went our separate way. It cheered me up and THAT's a great way to treat someone, especially when you made a mistake!

I’ve ordered from here at-least 10x since they opened. Food is always good. In my opinion the best Peppas location.

I paid 14.50 for a medium jerk chicken. The rice was hard as pellets while the chicken was completely bland.

They sent me a whole container of spoil shrimp. Like who do that Before even opening the bag i could smell the stench odor of the shrink

I miss the old one on Flatbush. I drove in from NJ and ordered 2 large chicken only. I watched the chef cook chicken and served at least 6 customers that came in after me. It appeared that they served 'meals' before my order. I guess the meals required less chicken. No communication at all. He was rude and served his 'friends' first. I'll find a spot in nj -
