"A second restaurant from chef Dan Kluger is the latest addition to the flashy, Jacx mega-development in Long Island City. The new spot, called Penny Bridge, serves seasonal riffs on the foods Kluger grew up eating in American diners and at his kitchen table." - Luke Fortney

LOVED everything here! i’ve walked past penny bridge so many times & kept thinking i needed to go. it was really delicious meal, and the setting is beautiful. the service is excellent, and all of the staff were super friendly. the spinach and artichoke dip were a must! i also loved how veggie forward the menu is- they have vegan nachos on the menu and they were very good. the burger was delicious (it was a smashed burger, so the patty was crispy & flavorful). the bread pudding french toast was insanely good- the lemon ricotta spread was soo yummy. I would highly recommend coming here for brunch! they don’t do bottomless, but it is worth it for the food.

Wow, what a fantastic place. The food was excellent. The dishes may seem familiar at first but they have unique mix of flavors that create a whole new experience, like the mozzarella sticks with the fried basil or the nachos with strawberries and guacamole. We also got the burger and the roughage salad. I also recommend getting the highball, if you’re interested in a cocktail. The service was also superb. Everyone was friendly, professional and helpful.

I went to Penny Bridge with 3 friends and was quickly seated. It's pretty quiet here on weekday nights so it's a great place to grab some good food and drinks and to chat. The staff here are very polite and helpful and we really enjoyed interacting with them. We got the Spinach & Market Greens Dip and the Salmon Tartare to start and were given a free Caesar Salad on the house. I really enjoyed the spinach dip and especially loved the spiced pita bread that came with it. My friends really enjoying the salmon tartare and said they could eat a whole meal of just that dish. For entrees, we shared the Blue Plate Special of Chicken and Waffles, the PB Burger, and the Fried Chicken Breast. The food was all amazing but we especially loved the fried chicken. Their chicken is so moist and tender but the skin is still amazingly crunchy at the same time. Their burger was also delicious and I loved the pimento cheese and fried onions in it! The drinks here are amazingly delicious and so beautiful. We got a Queens Highball, a The a cosmopolitan, a Penny Bird, and a Tequila Sunrise. The drinks are city priced but a must if you decide to drop by!

What an incredible dinning experience in Long Island City / Queens by chef Dan Kluger and chef Caitlin Giamario. From the moment I walked in and was welcomed by the friendly host to the kind and warm services i got from the waiters and one of the manager. I took the slow cooked salmon and it was just Perfect. It was served medium rare cooked with tomatoes, cucumbers and feta cheese in a very unconventional way. Loved it. I usually don’t take desserts but because the experience was so great I decided to give it a try and took the banana foster sundae. I asked them to make it gluten free for me so they gave me the cookies packed to take home to my friends (so thoughtful). I will definitely come back to try more. I have my eyes on the burgers (i Hope they have gluten free bun for me) and the roasted cauliflower .

Had a delightful dinner here. The atmosphere and style of everything is very cool. The service couldn’t have been better. They even brought us some delicious strawberry nachos compliments of the chef! Like others have said, the mozz sticks were phenomenal. I got the turkey burger and the sweet and spicy onions flavor was a bit overwhelming but it was still good. And the banana sundae was such indulgent goodness. Would return because there were other things on the menu that sounded good.

I must say that among the many restaurants in NYC offering a restaurant week (RW) menu, this is probably one of the few where you can get the best value for the price. At only $39 pp you can get a three-course dinner that includes an appetizer, an entree and a desert — available until 02/11. My party ordered a salmon sashimi and Chicories cobb salad. I’ve had cobb salad choice at other restaurants so expected the same old boring dish, but this one blew me away. The Chicories are flown to NYC from California, each leaf is seasoned and carefully placed over a bed of blue cheese thick dressing to serve as the base. It’s topped with caramelized bacon and instead of parmesan cheese, grated egg yolk. I almost wish I can petrify the dish and exhibit it as a sculpture in my living room. Never did I think a cobb salad could be elevated to this level. The salmon sashimi is as beautiful and tasty as you expect an award winning restaurant would serve. Also looks like someone took the time to make it look like a piece of art. The chef also sent us squash rings, and although I didn’t love them at first, it wasn’t until I dunk them in the apricot and maple chili sauce that the flavor really kicked in. Moving on to the entree, we had the steak frites (no photos because we just couldn’t resist the urge to dive in). I’m not sure what cut this was, but it came perfectly medium rare as ordered. Very tender and juicy. To shake things up, it’s served over a type of sauce that balances the dish very well and makes it step out of the ordinary. We also had the root vegetable shepherd’s pie and it felt warm and cozy like a hug in a cold winter night. Comfort food indeed. For desert we enjoyed the coconut sorbet which has become my top 3 ice cream flavor. It tastes like a Vacation at a Caribbean beach! We also had the spiced apple cake with a vanilla ice cream scoop. I’m not a big fan of the seeds (?) it had but it added a nice crunch to the dish that would otherwise be too flat in terms of texture. I’ve dined and brunched here several times and although some dishes are pricey, the menu is overall thoughtfully made, with intention and effort. Service is friendly and efficient. Hygiene is evident in everything from the bathroom to the water glasses and silverware; and covid protocols are enforced. It’s worth making a stop. PS: the fried chicken & mashed 🥔 which I had a few times before is another level! For brunch, my fav is the club sandwich.

We just had a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE on Penny Bridge. I can start talking about the ambiance: beautiful, clean and minimalistic. Our drinks were so good. For appetizer, we order the tuna crudo 'melt' that was simply amazing. The taste of the tuna was not compromised by the bread and the other things on it. The chef was kind enough to gave us a demo of their chicken wings (didn't take a picture, dang it). FABULOUS, not your average wings. My entree was the 24 hour chuck steak. Friends, believe me when I say that this dish was out of this word. Our dessert was the chocolate souffle pudding - decadent, different, delicious. The staff was awesome. Ruta was our waitress today, very nice and very helpful. This restaurant is most definitely a keeper, and I'm so thankful i live close by. Thank you, chefs Dan Kluger and Caitlin Giamario, you gave us an unforgettable experience!

I had dinner at Penny Bridge the other night and I have to say that this is easily the best restaurant in Long Island City. Chef Dan Kluger delivers classic American dishes with a unique touch of avant-garde, but without being presumptuous . When I was handed the menu and saw “mozzarella sticks” I thought “Not that. I had those a million times already.”…but when my friend ordered them I took a bite and I realized how wrong I was: those were the best “sticks” I ever had in my life. Lightly crispy without the unfortunately usual greasy smell. We tried several other plates: Corn & Cherry Tomato Fritters, PB Burger, Scottish Salmon, Slowly Roasted Chuck Steak, Potato Wedges. They were all AMAZING. For dessert we had the Pound Cake with strawberries, creme fraiche and lime and the Chocolate Soufflé pudding. They were AWESOME! The marshmallow fluff and honeycomb candy on top of the soufflé are all what Chef Dan Kluger is about: GENIUS. Oh, I almost forgot: the Service was impeccable.
