"Where Valpo's Gastro Revival All Began Pasta e Vino is often credited with starting Valparaíso's gastronomic revival nearly a decade ago. It started as a tiny restaurant with a group of tables off a colorful "pasaje," or side street in the port. Word spread, it took months to get a table, and they expanded. Today, the food and menu remains nearly the same. Tender, homemade pasta and a killer wine list with a low key, cool vibe. Some pasta combinations are unusual, like razor clams in a champagne sauce with strawberries. Others are simply delicious—like fava bean ravioli with sauteed shrimp and orange sauce or stuffed with duck confit and plum. Reservations essential. We made a reservation in advance and went at 7pm. The kitchen opens at 7.30pm. We were seated right away and served fruit infused water. Potato gnocchi bite was served as appetizers as well as bread and butter (olive oil). Nice start! We ordered half bottle of sauvignon blanc. It was average table wine but refreshing enough. As a starter, we ordered crunch lasagna. It was 3 layers of ingredients with tortillas. It was good. The shrimp on top was quite nice. For the main, we ordered orange gnocchi and pumpkin ravioli. Both of them were quite nice, but we are small eaters.. felt little heavy at the end. The orange flavor was well blended into gnocchi. Ravioli was stuffed with pumpkin paste and well toasted with basil pesto and fine olive oil. Tasty! We had icecream as dessert but they were too sweet for us. If you crave for good pasta, this is a place to go in Valparaiso. Next time, if there is one, would like to try their seafood pasta. We really enjoyed dining. Much thanks to the friendly staff who made menu recommendations for the evening.

Our favourite restaurant in Valparaíso. We ended up eating here 3 times and they were all great. The pasta is excellent with experimental sauces that were inventive and delicious. They have a great selection of wine to boot. It’s better to make a reservation but you might be lucky and get one the few bar seats if you do decide to walk in.

Google
Great service with a great wine list to accompany delicious house made pasta. Only missing a Star due to the red wine gnocchi I ordered being overly sweet even though the roasted shredded meat was really good. The fettuccini with Frutti di Mar that my partner ordered was exceptionally delicious though and I would go back just for that dish. Desserts are a bit overly sweet but still good. Will go again to try different menu items!

My wife and I enjoyed great pasta, wine and pisco sours at this restaurant. The restaurant is cute and staff is professional and attentive. I had the salmon gnocchi which was top notch while my wife had a shrimp gnocchi. Both were good but definitely on the richer side. We were slightly disappointed by our chocolate brownie dessert which was little over the top. Overall a solid option if looking for Italian while dining in Valparaíso.

We are staying at Pasta e Vino Hostel in Valparisio so we tried out the restaurant downstairs. The prices are on the higher end as many other reviewers have stated but the food is quite delicious here. Do try it out if you like good quality well prepared food. The Abalone Raviolis (which is not as readily available where we live) was outstanding. The Chiramaya Panna Cotta was refreshing. Diego (also a somolier) was in point with his wine recommendations. He was super helpful in recommendations for food at the restaurant as well as other wines to look for while in Chile to bring back home. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The best Italian resturant we’ve been, better than New York or Italy. Highly recommend. Must try the eggplant gnocchi !!!

Google
Perfect place. Excellent food, I recommend roasted pepper and lamb ravioli with plum sauce and port wine. And - while Google says “cash only”, the place also accepts credit cards. And if you want good coffee, you will find it here too.

Really tasty pasta, but very expensive! Would recommend the eggplant gnocchi

Yelp
Beautiful location in a small niche location in Valparadiso. Sat outside based on a recommendation from a friend. We had walked up as there is not much parking around this area. Best to park in a central location and walk around. Getting down to the terrace was a small spiral staircase. The staircase may not be good for everyone to walk down. We had a late lunch. It was beautiful and overlooked the bay. We watched the ships come and go and it was just amazing. The server made some amazing recommendations and I had an eggplant pasta with an amazing cream sauce. The bread served before the meal were also unique and delicious. The service was absolutely paramount. Had a bottle of wine with lunch at the recommendation of our server that was also amazing. The bathrooms were on the main level and very clean. There was also a bar inside the main dining room by large windows. I would love to go again next time I visit.

Yelp
Food was amazingly good and staff super friendly. I had Machas a la parmesana and scallop ravioli. The pasta tasted fresh and all of it was very flavorful.

Yelp
Lovely service and excellent food! The tuna tartare was probably some of the best we have ever had! Oh and the desserts are as yummy as they are beautiful. Prices are very fair. Get a reservation, it's always busy.

Yelp
Goodbye my old friend. For 4 years I have been coming and bringing friends but now it is time to say good bye. The pastas no longer amaze or even satisfy. The service (never great) was always tolerated. The postres were always excellent but they have fallen on hard times and even the espresso was bad. If you are near Cerro Concepcion I would suggest you seek another. It may be that they have been living on their reputation for the last year.

Yelp
What a great find -- this place is just as charming as the city itself! Who knew there would be fantastic Italian food here?! It's a little difficult to find, they recently moved locations, and now it's tucked away in a small courtyard. The food and cocktails were delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. I highly recommend eating here if you get the chance.

Yelp
The menu is mostly gnocchi, fettuccine, and ravioli dishes with some side dishes such as salads and stuffed bell peppers. The pasta here is nothing short of amazing. The ingredients are super fresh and the crab gnocchi dish was 80% crab. There are several vegetarian options which is hard to find in Chile. The service is excellent and they have a large list of wines, carrying my favorites from the local Emiliana winery. On the weekend this place gets pretty busy and a reservation is usually needed. The outside terrace have a beautiful view of the port of Valparaiso. Right next to the restaurant there are several craft gift stores to look around while you wait.

Yelp
Was there in December with a Chilean friend's recommendation. Sat at the terrace, a little breezy but comfortable, romantic. Very nice looking view at night. Wait staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Delicious, great view. Truly a hidden gem in Valparaiso. My table order 2 starters and 3 mains, and we couldn't be happier with the flavors and presentation.
