The ultimate paradise for stationery lovers, if you’re also big on greeting cards, notebooks and journaling, this is the place. Have your husband sit outside comfortably (or go with your gals), make sure parking is paid for at least 1h and enjoy because you will lose track of time. Consider coming here when looking for gifts for your loved ones instead of wasting money at gigantic stores with rich owners and full of generic items. It’s marvellous ⭐️

I felt terribly about myself after visiting this spot because I thought I was doing something wrong especially since the employees constantly cleaned a spot after I would pick up an item to look at it. But after reading the past reviews, I now feel better that I wasn’t the only one that felt like that. Their items are cute but I really will not be coming back especially seeing how the owner treats customers with valid concerns (the review section for this store is concerning). I hope they revisit some of their employee training or even the way the owners manage the store… otherwise, best of luck to this business !

Google
A great place to buy stationery from! They carry lots of different types of pens and some very interesting things! I loved their eraser eggs! They have a good selection of books as well! Their glass pens for calligraphy especially caught my eyes! They have quite a few leather items as well! The employees are very welcoming and helpful! The prices are a little high though.

Kind staff working here and lots of cute craft supplies and journals. As well as hilarious birthday cards that will make you fall on the floor laughing. Trinkets and pens galore with all the colors in the world Ink wells, quills, tape, materials, stamps and more for the crafter

I was really looking forward to shopping at Paper Ya, but the experience totally ruined it for me. One of the lady staff (not sure if she’s the owner) followed me around the entire time I was in the store. Like, literally right beside me, watching everything I did, but not saying a single word. The shop was busy, people were coming in and out, but for some reason she was glued to me. It was super uncomfortable and honestly felt like I was being singled out for no reason. I just wanted to enjoy browsing like everyone else, but instead I felt watched and unwelcome. Definitely not the kind of vibe I expected from a place like this. 😡😡😡

We always come to Paper-Ya when we come to Granville Island. Gorgeous merchandise and worth a visit.

Google
One of my favorite places in granville island!, they have a lot of things!, from pens, posters, cards, books, different types of papper to xmas presents!, reslly assorted store!, but not only cute things but funny stuff too!

Google
This is one of my favorite stationary shops in Vancouver! They're also one of the few places that carry black wings (my favorite pencils). Be very careful going to this shop because you'll end up spending a good chunk of your money here!! The staff is really friendly too!

Yelp
I love a good stationery store and this definitely should not be missed at Granville Island if you're also a stationery enthusiast. What got me really excited were the letter writing papers imported from Japan. I'm always on the lookout for those. Paper-Ya also carries wide range of journals/notebooks and specialty paper. You'll be able to find a curated selection of pen, rubber stamps, inks, washi, and more. So much to look at and explore!

Jason V.

Yelp
This stationery station has everything you need for writing, drawing, stamping, sealing, journaling, and diary-writing needs, plus a healthy selection of gifts for every aspiring author, artist, playwright and screenwriter, including enough accessories and décor and to wallpaper an artists' studio many times over! If a fancy pen and an empty journal excite you, Paper-Ya is your mecca!

Marin J.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. Instead it felt a bit tediously delicate with the throngs of folks who seemed to be hehat llbent on congesting the small store and pawing things or standing in the rather small space and surfing on the phones for stuff that really had nothing to do with their shopping experience. It is the tourist vision. I wanted to love it and linger and THINK about the things I saw, like pens, the lovely Traveller's notebooks behind the locked cases. You know, all of those things that make a store a browsing experience, not a rushed gulp. So imagine my sadness after my deliberate trek to visit. A part of Granville experience, the congestion made looking nearly impossible. And then there was this.... the surveillance techniques. The staff members who decided they needed follow you around to fix the individual strings of a notebook. Really? You need to stand beside me, not say a word and fix things...that don't need rearranging, EVERYWHERE I look? It seems to be a Vancouver thing these days as I have been followed a couple of places. Or overly enthusiastically helped. This makes me keep my money in my pocket. I was hoping for knowlegble, eager, interested paper enthusiasts. Instead, not a single person spoke to me and when I asked to see the fabled Traveler's notebooks. Her interest was flat and uninterested. Can't say I'd rush to return.

Sherry B.

Yelp
Omg I love this store! So much stationeries and some stuff are on sales too, so you can potentially grab something awesome for a fraction of its market price. Also a lot of products are from Japan and are high quality. Got a cute ornament from here on sale!

Lisa S.

Yelp
What a cute store. I could literally spend hours here, looking at all the interesting trinkets and flipping through all the weird and fascinating books. The store was about to close when we entered, so I didn't have enough time to enjoy it, but it's a great time-killer and a place for unique gifts.

Rachel H.

Yelp
If I never come back to Vancouver, Paper-Ya may be the place I miss the most. It is most certainly on the short list. In Granville Market, Paper-Ya is my perfect store for just about everything life affirming and creative. Think blank slate. Here you can find gorgeous personal journals, artistically whimsical folders with comic art-direction, pop colored urban photo albums, Elizabethan-feelling sealing wax (letters become so much more precious with wax seals), and all manner of desirable writing ephemera. Please sign me up for everything in here. In fact, I want to create an entire office styled by the person who does the merchandising at this place. Times two! This is a great place to walk around and easily lose a few hours, and meanwhile feel like you've gained a new creative streak. But then I dream of a desk filled with quill pens, linen stationary, quirky letterpress cards and leather bound handmade journals from Italy.

Monik D.

Yelp
I could have spent an hour minimum there looking at everything. Sadly I was visiting from out of town and had a bunch of other spots to hit so I gathered a few goodies to purchase and continued on my way. The ladies were very friendly and very helpful. There were christmas cards and stationary for the holidays. I will definitely stop by if I am in town again! Favorite shop of Granville Island!

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Rarely do non-food reviews but this is worth the mention ! Definitely the best store for interesting gifts and other neat stuff. Great novelty stationary items like wax stamps, fancy pens & notebooks, etc. Awesome selection of local/Canadian owned and designed jewelry pieces. And of course, beautiful papers and cards. I love perusing in this store and I've boughten a few gifts from here too!

Junko S.

Yelp
Nice paper and other stationary related items but boy is it expensive! The paper especially is very ridiculous. I do a lot of crafting and make all kinds of journals and scrapbooks, I love using different kinds of artistic paper. If I was to buy all my paper from here, I would be heavily in debt. Maybe it's because it is on Granville Island (you therefore pay a premium?!) but there are cheaper places - Urban Source on Main Street is one, they always have some good paper (some handmade) which is a fraction of the price of PaperYa

Vanessa G.

Yelp
If your looking that perfect, original card for that special someone.. this is the place to go. Especially if you have no idea what to get for this person, this place will make you want to buy everything in it. It technically is everything to do with paper and pretty accesories that make letter writing activies and DIY fun and exciting. I basically just want to touch everything in this store.

Erica G.

Yelp
Perfect store. Seriously perfect. I am a sucker for a great paper store, but heir buyer has seriously amazing taste. With several container options and towers of paper, it is a small store, but a great one. They have creative books, hard cover and soft cover journals, knick-knacks and more. I wish they had a greater pen selection, but that is just because I have an unhealthy obsession with finding the perfect super-inky pen. The downside of being on Granville Island is that this shop may get passed by. I missed it several times, after being pulled to the magic and wonder of the market and more obvious shops. Do yourself a favor and get here. You won't regret it.

Brittany A.

Yelp
Such a super CUTE little store! If you are into all things related to writing and paper - you will love this place! So many unique handmade cards, printed papers, fun stationary, and sweet books. I purchased a super cute planner for work and I LOVE it. It's great because you can actually add in your own dates which I find very helpful!

Ben C.

Yelp
Here is one of the best stationery stores I have been to. You will always feel welcomed here and the cashiers and people that work here are really understanding and pleasant to be around. Prices could be found high from person to person, but i think they are average. One of the best stationery stores in Vancouver

Mercedes G.

Yelp
While the joy's of Paper-Ya have been mentioned here once or twice, my sentiments of this store are nevertheless, joyful! I like to set myself apart from the masses, but how can I go against the truth? Paper-Ya is the definitive store for all of your creative, writing and paper needs, as well as being a supplier of quirky items from all over the world. I have a bit of an obsession with purchasing (or being gifted, ahem) beautiful journals and I have no qualms with wanting to spend what might appear to be absurd amounts of money on a writing tome. Paper-Ya offers up some of the more unique journals from around the world, whether they be bound in metallic leathers, quirky designs or have held the words of the greats (the entire line of Moleskin sketchbooks and journals are available), you are likely to find something that will hold your words and designs with style. Paper-Ya also carries, prepare yourself, paper! We're not talking about computer printing paper here, but all sorts of natural, Japanese, decorative and Origami papers. You can even buy supplies to make your own paper, an art that I am not familiar with but I imagine to be deeply satisfying and interesting. Should you be planning a wedding soon, Paper-Ya has many options for invitations, as well as beautiful guest books in various sizes. Anything you may need for book binding is also available here, along with rubber stamps, punch-out stamps and everything to make unique wax seals. Paper-Ya is a gem and absolutely worth a gander should you be in the area and if you're not, make a special trip!

Yelp
I am one of those rare individuals that loves to write....on anything I can get my hands on. So when there's a store filled with pretty and original journals and paper items, I'm in heaven! Whenever I go to a new city, I always look up stationary and paper stores. Yelp highly recommended this one and I have say kudos! It has so many different options, I picked up a few pens, spiral notebooks, a couple journals, and a couple composition books. All a great deal and all original. Back in the states I'm asked where I got the journals I'm writing in. A great little find and will make this a stop whenever I'm in Vancouver. I didn't get any photos as I was too busy salivating over everything in the store.

Melody M.

Yelp
I love paper, pretty paper to write notes, special paper to draw . And this is the place to go. When I go to Granville Island, I must, must always stop at this place. I love looking at the beautiful paper, the artistic notebooks, and I never leave empty handed :)

Noa G.

Yelp
Offering up gorgeous stationery, handmade and textured paper, beautiful greeting cards, notebooks, journals, and other paper treats, Paper-Ya will surely delight and inspire anyone who loves to write. The store, located in Granville Island's Net Loft building carries some of the most original textured, handmade paper (often inspired by the Japanese washi paper) you've likely seen. Be sure to save some time to sort through the drawers of paper, arranged by colour, and the shelves displaying handmade accessories.

Joyce S.

Yelp
Traffic getting here was sooooo terrible. And an update on their hours: they close at 6 pm. The staff here are all very friendly, nice, and attentive. I was looking for a heavy weight 300g watercolor paper book that wouldn't ripple or wrinkle. One of the girls found a hand made square booklet with ribbon close detailing! And a Fabiano book. I was very happy and only wished I had bought more. I may be a hoarder but that's unrelated. They also had Lamy Safari pens, Noodlers ink, Rifle Paper, washi tapes, beautiful papers, moleskines, scout books, field notes, cell phone covers, wax seals, bags, wedding guest books, photo albums, a large variety of stationary, Japanese pens, pencils, and much more. The prices were pretty comparable to what you would pay online, except without shipping costs.

Booja H.

Yelp
This shop is located inside one of the larger buildings at Granville island but sorry I can't tell you which one... that place is confusing! It's a cool little stationary shop with an amazing selection of notebooks, stamps, pens, and other office supplies. I wasn't intending to go today, but stopped in to look at fountain pens. Picked up a Lamy Safari. The staff were very knowledgeable, and made shopping a pleasure. I will probably be back soon, but not too often as buying $50 pens can make anyone go broke in a hurry!

Eric B.

Yelp
Paper-Ya is neatly tucked away within the pletora of shops, galleries, artist studios, markets, restaurants, etc. that you'll find on Granville Island. The store space is relatively small, but packed within is a very comprehensive and diverse selection of papers, pens, notebooks, stationary, etc. And it's closer to say a Japanese Maido in approach. It's a fun place to look around and imagine journalling or organization projects that may or may not happen when you take your treasures home.

Ayaka H.

Yelp
This is an overrated store. I think this store in Granville Island was rated top 3 for shopping in Vancouver, so I had to see for myself what it was all about. Despite all the other glowing reviews, I was a bit disappointed and I can't understand why people get so excited over a $15 dollar journal. Origami papers costs 9 dollars, and in Japan you can get the exact same one for 1/3 of the price. If you're looking for journals, notepads, memo pads, notebooks, and other fancy stationary this is the place, but in Hong Kong or Japan you can easily find stores like this and the prices are about half price. One might think a $15 dollar notebook is fancy, but the reality is you can get the same high quality and similar variety as in Paper-Ya for only $7 in Hong Kong. Overall not impressed, but I can see how it's great for Vancouver standards. The ladies working here were very nice to me so I give 3 stars.

Katie A.

Yelp
Oh man.. I've yet to see anything like this shop in Seattle. Papyrus doesn't even come close. Lovely selection of paper, origami, cards, Moleskine products, knick knacks, and scrapbooking stuff that makes me want to take up the hobby. As far as product and merchandising goes, this place has it perfected. I found the most lovely little japanese lunch kits for kids here, as well as these darling little metal water bottles with cute little pictures and sayings on them. Needless to say, if you're in the gorgeous Granville Market, please PLEASE make a stop in here. It's absolutely lovely.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
I'm a die-hard paper lover. Yes. That intense. Every time I visit Paper-Ya, I feel like a kid in a candy store, and I'm sure I look the part too. I've been visiting Paper-Ya for ages, and always loved their products and customer service. The service I had over the phone today, however, was far beyond their daily dose of awesome. I spoke to Jane at Paper-Ya to inquire about a product that I had seen last at my recent visit around the New Year. The product may have been sold by then, thus I asked if they had carried other similar types. Jane managed to found a batch of them and the one I had inquired about (bless her!) and held one for me to pick up this coming weekend. What amazed me was, 5 minutes later she had called me back. She had put the product away, only noticing that the illustrations was similar to the one I had wanted, but not the same. She then told me that what she'll do is put all the three different illustration products into the bag with my name on it, and I can review freely this weekend. She went well above and beyond and all with such a cheery voice on the phone. What's not to love about her AND Paper-Ya. Can't wait to go back this weekend... I can hardly contain my excitement.

Sayuri T.

Yelp
It's a bit tricky in here. At first glimpse, it seems full of postcards, gourmet journals, and sketch pads -- plus novelty items like sealing wax, calligraphy nibs, and antique watches. I suppose if you self identify as 'artsy', and want a $40 sketchbook with pictures of art nouveau clowns on the cover for a little latte musing, you may well find something here. When it's busy, the customer service can be a bit dreadful -- and I mean "look you in the eye, ignore you, and wave the person in the queue behind you ahead" kind of crappy service. I had kind of given up, actually: I was interested in some quality mulberry or rice paper for some calligraphy. Given the pretentious, pseudo Japanese name-- the '-ya'--appendage -- I thought they might have had some. Then I went on a day that was less busy and acted more assertive with the staff -- you have to push for help. I found someone very friendly, and found out the secret: the really special stuff is kept in the back. So if you're looking for top grade papers from Japan -- ASK. It's not on display in any way. If you enquire they'll give you a catalogue with samples. You select what you want and they'll retrieve them for you. So those are my tips: go on a less busy day, find a shopminder who's friendly, and ask to see the good stuff.

Siri W.

Yelp
This place made my little nerd heart glow :) You know that amazing feeling you get when you walk into a really beautiful library or bookstore and just have to stop for a moment to take it all in? Yeah. You'll get that here. This store is so dainty and adorable, I defy you not to "Aww" over paper. Paper! That's the magic of this place - it sells delightful possibility to the book/journal/word lover and makes you dream of sitting under a tree somewhere with one of their exquisite leather bound journals writing your first great novel. Well. A girl can dream! But if you are ever on Granville Island, this place is a must. You won't leave empty-handed I promise you. I never do!

T T.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing and is a designer's dream store. They have a notebook for anything you can think of. Need a tabbed journal to organize lists of your favorite websites? Check. Dreaming of a Doodle Jump notebook? Check. Or maybe just a journal to record all of your dreams? Check. Beside journals, they have a ton of really unique gifts like stamp sets, pens, bags, books, greeting cards, stickers...the list goes on and on. Everything is very carefully selected and high quality, including many Japanese and German notebooks and writing tools. I easily spent an hour looking through as much of the store as I could. I was totally blown away!

Lynn H.

Yelp
A conversation I had with my mother last winter: Me: But it's a stapler... in the shape of a fish! Mom: Yes... Me: A fish stapler! So cool! In case you are wondering, despite my mother's slight confusion at my obsession with marine animal shaped stationary, I received the fish stapler for Christmas that year... about 13 months after first spying it at Paper-Ya. One of my favorite things about Vancouver is that the major tourist destinations are equally if not more popular with locals. This is probably what gives the city its air of friendliness. I have been going to Vancouver Island since I was knee-high to a grass hopper (my best childhood friend's dad used to run the frozen yogurt/ice cream place in the center of the main market) and I have more than a few fond memories of this place. Paper-Ya fits into my adult-memory bank as a fun place to go all year round and window shop for gifts, notebooks, ornaments, and of course... FISH STAPLERS! The store is cleverly laid out because once you peek in the door you have to actually walk in to get a look at the fun and fanciful wares. Sure some of these items are absurdly beyond my budget (some particularly appealing leather-notebooks come to mind!) but looking is almost as fun as buying. Verdict: come to Paper-Ya to explore... you will be surprised what is hiding around and under the display tables and maybe you will leave with a novelty item that brings you as much joy as my fish stapler brings me!

Tomato C.

Yelp
Home of the LBP (The LIttle Black Pen) that I use to write thoughts that I wish to remember on lovely paper steeped in romance. I remember Paper Ya because I used to go there to get my accoutrements of love in an attempt to court a classic beauty with my penmanship. Great cards for all occasions with updated stock. Cards lean more to minimal and eclectic with small footprint. I used to sell very expensive pens - Monte Blanc, Dupont, Dunhill and Waterman (when they used a brass barrel). Paper Ya's assortment of writing instrument are on par with the more expensive brands. The have some interesting Japanese writing instruments including some some wooden pens. I never won my love's heart but I still do have my black pen which I do cherish along with fading memories of looking for the perfect card. Love may be indelible and ethereal when one has a crush. LBP - [Tombow - black rollerball made in Japan].

Monique B.

Yelp
When I used to work in Kits, just up the street from GI Market, if I had a bad day I would walk down to Paper-Ya to cheer myself up. That's how amazing this store is! They sell beautiful books and journals, cards and wrap and some more interesting items like pencil sets, bags and small toys. This is the kind of place where you can find a gift for almost anyone (and the card & wrap to go with) and will undoubtedly leave with something for yourself as well. The only thing preventing me from giving them five stars is that it is often so busy that if you need service you will have trouble tracking it down.

Trudi C.

Yelp
This place is *dangerous*. To my purse that is! I could quite happily spend a ridiculous amount of dollars every time I go in here on things that I don't realllllllllly need but omg isn't that so cool?! As I live far from home, my favourite old-fashioned thing to do is write letters. I go here for the paper! There's some cute writing paper that doubles as both the letter and the envelope - people have seen me in cafes writing letters, and asked where I got it from - I always direct them here. I wish it were a little cheaper, but it's to be expected. I will never go in alone anymore, I simply cannot be trusted in here ;D

Annie W.

Yelp
This little store always sets my heart aflutter! I'm the kind of person who dreams about one day having my own "wrapping room," and one day when I win the lottery it's going to be fabulous, but for now this little stationary haven will just have to suffice. Beautiful print and hand crafted cards, specialty origami papers from Japan, colourful moleskin notebooks, photo albums & scrap books, gorgeous wrapping paper and ribbons, decorative rubber stamps, and all sorts of books and random knickknacks that make great unique gifts! As always "special" comes at a premium and indeed some of the items aren't cheap. However, the store has such a great selection that there really is something for every budget. If you're not sure, just ask one of the incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

Nicki M.

Yelp
Always a fan of this shop and always have to visit when I'm at Granville Island. This is a beautiful stationary store. It has tons of stuff for the crafter (card paper, cards, stamps, seals, twine, ribbon etc) and for the writer (journals, notebooks, check lists, specialty books etc). I probably make about 3 trips around the store just to make sure I catch a glimpse of everything. I recently bought a Decomposition notebook for only $10! The only thing I wish this store had more of was pens. They have a few but they all seem just okay. I am a sucker for a good pen!! Until then Paper-ya.

Max H.

Yelp
One of those funny little stores that always seems to capture my imagination and attention. Although I must admit I've always had a bit of a bizarre fascination with stationary (perhaps because my grandfather was a cartographer?). After discovering it several years ago, it always seems to be a perennial favorite on walks through Granville Island. Their stock is varied and is a great mix of practical and whimsical (think: rich leather-bound day-timers, to ceramic faux white paper coffee-cups, with matching latex lids) When we were preparing our invitations etc. to our wedding last year, my wife was adamant that we'd have to go to Paper-Ya. We managed to find everything we needed (beautiful card stock; envelopes: sealing wax & seals) for what seemed a fair price given the evident quality. Definitely will continue to browse on our way through and keep it at the top of our list for stationary needs.

Jody B.

Yelp
I want everything in this store, all the time, always. WAY back in the day, I actually pulled a four month stint at this eccentric little haven before succumbing to the call of the service industry. I loved it before, I loved it during and gosh darnit, four years later, I love it still! Who else could have brought wax seals into my life? And then the cheating, glue gun version of wax seals after I covered my kitchen (and self) in hot wax? Who stocks, without fail, at least 25 different journals that I NEED to own on any given day? Seriously, when i'm in the store, I inherently have to spend at least 10 minutes breathing deeply in front of the handmade, leather bound volumes. Hilarious trinkets from Japan, great hand bags, beautiful pens, EVERY card you could ever need... this place is an absolute gem! PLUS - the paper? Oh right - you guys, Paper-Ya ALSO sells paper! And every time I gift give, I look like a total rockstar with my hand-made, recycled, small batch beautiful wrapping. Some of the stuff is so stunning, I actually took to framing them in the house. Paper-Ya. I like you. Let's hang out more often.

Kenneth N.

Yelp
Solid 3.5 stars for getting high-quality dairies, notepads, journals, creative stuff, and anything paper-related. Quite the large store, it's spiffy so buying a special gift is ideal for someone you care about. Some books too. For me, it's just something to snoop about. Located in the Net Loft building by the entrance.

Matt S.

Yelp
Every time family or friends visit us in Vancouver there is at some point a trip to Granville Island. It always includes dropping in to Paper-Ya, and even though I've been there plenty of times I never cease to find new interesting and cool things. The store has fantastic inventory, unique items, and a great vibe.

Erin M.

Yelp
A trip to Granville Island isn't complete without a stop at this little gem of a stationery shop. In fact, stationery shop isn't even the right term; it's more like a store full of awesome. Paper-Ya carries a well-selected mix of papers, stationery, notebooks and albums, and cute gift items. On my most recent visit, I picked up a hot pink Belvedere notepad portfolio. The staff were friendly and obviously having fun.

Robin M.

Yelp
Stationary-fetishists, here is your mecca. From beautiful hand-crafted letterpress cards to kitschy Japanese journals to mouthwatering washi paper to everything in-between, this treasure trove of writing paraphernalia is drool-worthy. A store that celebrates paper in all of its forms and iterations, this enchanting and impressive shop makes me ache with nostalgia for the simplicity of proper post and the letter-writing club I never had. *sigh*

Nik C.

Yelp
Going into this store is like stepping into the stationary Bermuda Triangle: You will enter, but it will take you years to leave. Hours seem like minutes as you walk through the tiny store for the 8th time, finding a new and exciting notebook or other piece of stationary. It's tiny, it's fun, and every time you go to Granville you have to go back. Pack a lunch, and tie a rope around your waist and attach it to a pillar outside so a rescue party can yank you out when you don't return after 4 hours.

Alison S.

Yelp
I've heard and read that Paper-Ya was awesome, so I finally had to come see for myself. It was everything I had read and more. I've always had a soft spot for stationary and I could easily unload most of my chequing account at this store. For $14 I caved and bought the potpourri mix of papers, a luxurious mix of texture and colour. Only barely did I pry myself away from the wooden stamps, the felted flowers, the sheets of pressed papers, each one unique and artistic. A fan is born!!!

Tam M.

Yelp
Paper-Ya has a wonderful selection of decorative papers, including Florentine print, Japanese, Unryu, lotka, natural and handmade papers. They also have a nice selection of machine-made sheets of paper featuring whimsical and sophisticated prints and patterns. Everything is well-organized into drawers and the sales staff is there to help you select what you need. Prices are comparable to other paper shops I've visited. The shop also stocks a large collection of journals and notebooks, along with basic crafting supplies such as glue/adhesives, Japanese masking tape, and embellishments.

Yelp
I am on the hunt to find some paper to make a mock up of a wedding invite. I have to give a sample to my mother to make sure she orders exactly what I want my invitation to look like. Drawers and drawers of paper. I love paper... so pretty. If I wasn't so focused on finding sheets of yellow and green, I would have taken a better look at all the other notebooks and pens. I couldn't find a shade of green that I needed. The woman working was so helpful! She tried to help me find the right shade of green, she even let me look in the stock room with her, but still no dice. Then she suggested something I would have never even thought of: RIBBON! Eureka! I got a yard of ribbon the right shade of green I needed to tie up the mock invite. I am so happy I went there. She was so knowledgeable of all their stock and really took the time to help me find what I needed.

Yelp
A shop that sells sealing wax and stamps? Looking for that elusive imported notebook? Well this place has it. Any everything else a calligrapher could hope to have. A place that inspires and revives old fashioned correspondence. As a stationary addict, this place is a must, all I can say it that it could be a lot bigger!

Yelp
Talk about paper galore! This place is great. It has all sorts of paper items: journals, gift wrap, stationary, cards, etc. It also has other cute gift items like wallets and purses. This store is fantastic for browsing and I found myself coveting most of the journals. Too bad the last thing I need is another gorgeous journal!

Yelp
Paper-Ya is pretty much the only reason I go to Granville Island..well..and now for Edie Hats... They have such an eclectic selection if wares...beautiful papers, cards, journals and note books, watches, bags, wallets, vases, globes, my God you name it..they have it! I can pretty much do the bulk of my Christmas shopping in one stop...no lie...most of my partners stocking stuffers last year were purchased here..his fave was a kitchy aluminum water bottle... and just when I think I'm done I get to the counter and they have more cool little things at the cash wrap...fun pens and cute mini horoscope books..I'm suck a sucker for "cute" crap... I was in recently and one of the staff was very chatty...taking about what was new in the store..showing me her favorite products....I like it when you can tell people love where they work..it says a lot!

Yelp
Cute stantionary store on Granville Island. I originally came to look for origami paper but instead found a lot of unique paper related products and gifts. If you want to make any DIY, or look for unique presents for your loved ones, check out this store. A bit on the pricey side but if you are already on the island, may as well make a stop at this fun little shop.

Yelp
"Yay for paper!' would be the universal chant for all Paper-Ya fans. This place is stuffed inside-out with all kinds of notebooks, stationary, and handmade fibre papers. It's practically a dream for those weird people who love to buy notebooks for anything and everything, and who like to repeatedly run their hands over paper. And yes, I'm one of those people. I love looking at all the notebooks, and seeing what kinds they have for different purposes. The store is organized into various sections, like notebooks in one spot, and then letter-writing and supplies in another, and stamps and fibre papers in yet another. Paper-Ya has some really unique stuff, particularly the handmade papers. You'll rarely find them elsewhere. As much as I love gazing at all the beautiful things, there is never any way the prices will ever seem justified to me. It's just so crazy expensive in this place, you really need to close your eyes and just take the plunge to pay that much for something here. Maybe I'll work my way to it one day. But for now, I'll settle for browsing and creepily running my hands over the paper.

Yelp
Been to Paper-Ya everytime I had to make a present a little extra special. Though the parking in the area is a little tricky at times, well it is Granville Island, the selection of paper related products are worth it. IF you want to forgo the Hallmark cards and paper wrapping for something extra special check them out!

Yelp
Definitely a fabulous find as far as stationary stores go . Its small but they have an excellent merchandiser. I love those li'l leather bound travel journals with the leather string wrap around . Those are super cute. Also some sleek metallic finish leather bound journals caught my eye. I am going to be spending more time here for sure. Luxurious / clever stationary makes my heart smile.

Yelp
A sure fun stationary and paper shop. I was able to pick up some notebooks, a cursive handwriting instruction book, and a tiny pen. I was so happy I found this place. If I didn't have a flight, I would have bought a ton of handmade papers too. So gorgeous.
