Osteria Morini serves up cozy Emilia-Romagna cuisine with delicious handmade pastas and refreshing cocktails, all in a rustic, inviting atmosphere.
"Osteria Morini is an excellent Italian restaurant, and it’s more our speed than any of Michael White’s uptown joints. We’ve been fans ever since this place opened in the early days of The Infatuation, But unfortunately, over time, the restaurant has become incredibly crowded, in the sense that they might have even squeezed a few tables into the bathroom. The crowd has also become awfully bridge and tunnel, and there are too many other great Italian restaurants in this town for us to highly recommend it. Keep in on your list for an upscale meal with a big group, when you can land a bigger table with some more elbow room. It’s also great for an early evening drink and bite at the bar. Food Rundown Cured Sliced Meats We sampled a little bit of everything: prosciutto di Parma, salami, mortadella, sopressata, and more. It’s all awesome. But you know that. Tortelli Della Nonna Absolutely ridiculous. These plump, braised beef-filled tortelli will rival any meat-filled pasta you’ll ever put in your mouth. God are these things good. Gramigna Super-sized yellow and green elbow macaroni in a creamy pork sausage and tomato sauce. We like it. Gnocchi Soft, spectacular ricotta dumplings in a pomodoro sauce. Not the best thing on the menu, but up there towards the top." - Chris Stang
"Northern Italian restaurant Osteria Morini from the Altamarea Group closed on June 1 after 14 years. The business will be moving to a new location at a to-be-announced address. Celebrity chef Michael White opened Osteria Morini in 2010." - Luke Fortney
"Inspired by the city of Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, Michael White's Osteria Morini churns out excellent fare using lots of regional ingredients (prosciutto, parmigiano, balsamic vinegar, et al). The pasta here is especially great, as are the antipasti. "
"As with pretty much all hotel restaurants in South Beach, you can expect higher-than-average prices and a slightly touristy crowd at Osteria Morini. However, it’s still possible to have a very enjoyable meal here, especially if you sit outside. All the outdoor tables are arranged along a narrow little canal that can make you feel like you’re in Venice, if you squint hard and have had more than two negronis. Pasta is the move here, and it’s solid - especially the torcia nera and cappelletti. photo credit: Anthony Leo" - Ryan Pfeffer
