"This restaurant is less humble taverna and more an emergency spritz of Terre d’Hermès before a formal introduction to the tzatziki. It’s got prices high enough to make Plutus proud, but it’s also bright, modern, and home to a sophisticated pavement terrace. Sipping mastiha cocktails out here is very Mykonos by way of Marylebone. But even on a grey day it’s easy to create the illusion of ocean views with a splash of sherry vinegar in a salty octopus stew, the simplicity of honey-smothered imported feta, and the mini-break meal magnum opus, the mousakas. "The mousakas at Opso is a thing of béchamel wonder. A deconstructed take on the traditional involving a foundation of grilled aubergine, layers of braised beef ragu and béchamel, and topped with—insert sentimental tear here—crunchy potato crisp slivers. It is undoubtedly the standout dish at this upmarket Greek restaurant but the tzatziki, cherry pavlova, and tableside lamb shank show are all instant crowd-pleasers too. Prices stack up quickly but it’s worth it for a space on Marylebone’s most charming terrace." - Team Infatuation

"The first thing you need to know about Opso is that the menu is headlined by caviar. That should be your first clue that this Greek restaurant in Marylebone is less humble taverna and more emergency spritz of Terre d’Hermès before a formal introduction to the tzatziki. It’s got prices high enough to make Plutus proud, but it’s also bright, modern, and home to a sophisticated pavement terrace. So if you’re in the mood for feeling gorgeous with your most gorgeous friends, and you can find it in your heart to forgive a near-£30 cauliflower broth, then Opso is the place to be for a year-round stylish summer holiday in the heart of London. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Your experience at Opso will be weather dependent. We know that’s not a fun sentence for a country with a climate that is best described as ‘meteorological fuck boy’ but stay with us. If the weather is serving Mykonos then you definitely want to be out on the terrace, sipping mastiha cocktails while eyeing up your neighbour’s Missoni blouse and the mountain of black truffle being ceremoniously grated over a glistening lamb shank. If the weather is leaning more, erm, Manchester then sit inside the beech wood dining room. The look is sleek professional meets Nordic yoga retreat so whether you're here for client schmoozing or anniversary date night vino boozing, you’ll be charmed. Even inside on a rainy day, it’s easy to create the illusion of ocean views with a splash of sherry vinegar in a salty octopus stew, the simplicity of honey-smothered imported feta, and the mini-break meal magnum opus, the mousakas. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch The mousakas at Opso is a thing of béchamel wonder. It's a deconstructed take on the traditional involving a foundation of smoke show grilled aubergine, layers of rich braised beef ragu, and a thick streak of buttery béchamel. It’s the must-order standout dish and also £26. But unless you’re willing to flirt with the idea of hitchhiking, a flight to a night of crisp salty Santorini wines will inevitably cost you more and this one-dish vacation includes a naughty little top layer of extra skinny fries. For the potential of sweet words over a sour cherry pavlova with that special someone or suave catch-ups where tablecloths are destined to be stained with peach bitters, the steep prices are worth it for a slice of Mykonos in Marylebone. Exceptional service, elegant plating, and if you’re in the mood, a little Greek caviar too. Food Rundown photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Tzatziki Opso’s tzatziki is the real deal. It contains all the usual suspects—roasted garlic, Greek yoghurt, and cucumber—but each component is perfect. The yoghurt is extra creamy, the cucumber sliced down to tiny refreshing specks, and the garlic is generous enough to constitute a no kiss warning. Feta Kataifi A charming double act of sticky honey-soaked pastry and tangy feta. Served with sesame seeds because, texture. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Mousakas Reader meet mousakas. Mousakas meet reader. You might think you’ve met before but trust us, Opso’s take is truly original. This should be consumed with a full fork split straight down the centre so you get a proper medley of each layer. Zesty aubergine, mega rich beef ragu, béchamel doing what béchamel does best, and—praise be—crunchy potato slivers on top. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Lamb Shank The kind of thing we imagine is served at a celebrity barbecue. You’ll know the lamb shank is on its way because a small table will appear next to your chair. Next, the smell of fresh black truffle. Then finally it will arrive covered in mushrooms and graviera cheese. The lamb meat itself is mouth-meltingly tender and so pink it would make Elle Woods proud. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Sour Cherry Pavlova Light and bitter in a way that things primarily constructed out of sugar shouldn’t be. The sour cherry sauce and the dark chocolate cream all add up to a real lip-smacker dessert that is startlingly refreshing." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

"For something less wallet-slimming, Opso is a Greek tapas restaurant located off Marylebone High Street loved by locals. Essential plates to order include the Dakos salad, which I daydream about every day, the yellow fava bean dip, and the beetroot carpaccio."

We ordered the Valentine’s Day set menu. The food was fresh and delicious, though a bit limited in variety. Overall, it was a nice experience. I hope the restaurant’s ambiance could be a bit more romantic.

More of a 4.5 than 4 overall which is reflective of its historic average. The overall experience was solid and we had some great dishes. I wouldn’t say anything blew us away so can’t give it a 5. Plus it’s on pricier side so I had higher expectations given the price point. We tried both the lamb shank and the wagyu which were highly recommended by the waiter, which again, were decent but not great given the price. The moussaka and the rice with spinach & dill (forgot the name for it) and the dessert was pretty good and one of the better dishes of the night. I also don’t appreciate restaurants that charge you a service fee automatically and then give you a payment screen to add more tips, just very sneaky and leaves a sour taste in your mouth at the end of the meal.

Came here for brunch. The way the dishes were set up was cute and not messy. However the chicken tasted a bit dry. Dishes are on the sweeter side, which wasn’t what I was expecting for savory dishes. Portions can be quite hefty depending on what you order.

The truffled lamb shank didn’t disappoint, taste was very balanced, finished the whole dish by my self! Th charred broccolini was alright, I recall it was a bit cold and didn’t have that smoky taste that I was anticipating.

One of the best meals i've had, at a restaurant, in London for a long, long time. The whole experience was fab, wonderful atmosphere at OPSO, service was friendly and attentive and food was absolutely delicious.

Love the food and atmosphere. The lamb shank was definitely worth a try. I recommend sharing between at least 2 persons because it was pretty big for small appetites. A bit pricey but worth the price to try once. I was not quite satisfied with the service as the waiters kept trying to take away our plates and drinks before we finish everything and having a nice chat. We were a party of 3 and we found out later it was because they had another party of 6 waiting for our table. I felt like they could have planned the seating out better or just kindly ask us to move to the table next to us instead of passive aggressively asking us to leave. We spent almost £70 per head and this is not the service we were expecting. Otherwise, it would have been a very good experience. Will probably not come back for a 2nd time.

We came here for dinner and ordered tzatziki with toasted pita, Greek salad, grilled lettuce and baby chicken with potato purée. One would definitely love it if they love cheese (all sorts of), however, having cheese or dairy products in every dish is a bit overwhelming. The baby chicken nailed it perfectly with its tenderness and perfect couple with the potato purée. Grilled lettuce was amazing at the first bite, but too sour at last. Greek salad had the greatest cherry tomato, juicy and sweet. The service was great, the staffs were lovely. Worth trying but some dishes do not worth the price.
