I was also a part of the 5-for-5 program. It’s a shame because the shoes used to be higher quality and their customer service team was top-notch, attending to any issues that I emailed them with. But I noticed a decline in the quality of shoes. And then, like many others, I was also robbed of my remaining credits for shoes. So it really was not a deal after all. I’ve reported this to the Better Business Bureau and hopefully those of us who deserve a refund or the shoes we purchased get one or the other. It’s unfortunate that their most loyal customers were the ones they stole from.

Christine South

Google
I have been a loyal customer of Nisolo for nearly a decade. In fact, I don't think I've bought from any other shoe companies since I discovered them. When they offered their 5-for-5 membership club for a second time--two pairs of shoes a year for five years, $500 up front--I was delighted to have the opportunity to get more of their shoes at a cheaper price. I did get my first four pairs, but they have stolen the rest of my money ($300) and will not reimburse me or let me get my remaining 6 pairs of shoes. I understand that the last year was tough for small businesses, but this is wildly unethical and cruel. Honestly, if they had just refunded my remaining balance and given transparency about the situation (or offered us members the shoes they sold at major discounts anyway after telling us they were delaying our prepaid codes), I would have continued supporting them and buying their shoes. However, they ROBBED me and many others, and if it isn't made right in some way, I will no longer be able to support their company and buy their products, new ownership or not. Unless there is a major change, it would appear the new owners are also unethical, as they will not reply to customers, have turned off commenting abilities on social media, and were clearly unapologetic about the hundreds of dollars stolen from everyday, hardworking people. Please consider spending your money elsewhere.

Megan Eldridge

Google
Just one of the many customers ripped off from the 5 for 5 membership. They had no intention of honoring people who paid $500 to receive 10 pair over 5 years the last time they offered it. They never notified us - and the response given when I reached out to support was laughable. That they have been transferred to a “values-driven” and “committed” group of people who want to earn loyalty and trust back by giving us a 25% discount… umm maybe refund our money??

Emily Kratzert

Google
I was a part of their 5 for 5 club (you pay $500 in exchange for a total of 10 pairs of shoes over 5 years). I received 2 codes in 2023 and then was ghosted by the company after that. So essentially I’m out $400. I reached out to the company several times and eventually received a generic reply with no solution. They are a supposed “ethical” company but this is so sneaky and gross. There are far superior companies out there. Won’t be buying from them again.

Blayke Roznowski

Google
This company has scammed its customers and is doing nothing to make it right. I completely understand that they have fallen into hard financial times, but they should have never offered a program that promised 10 pairs of shoes over five years for $500 if they weren’t going to make good on their promise. We only got two pairs of shoes before they temporarily paused the program for a year, and now we’ve been told the new ownership will not be honoring this program. We missed out on eight pairs of shoes — I would have never paid $250 a piece for the shoes we purchased. We have not been offered anything as consolation for this scam. I will never purchase shoes from Nisolo again because they clearly don’t care about their customers and don’t know how to run a business.

Ben Quattlebaum

Google
This company used to be wonderful and the shoes were great quality. Now they are garbage, and the company has to resort to using scams to market their trash shoes. I smell a class-action lawsuit on the horizon (and bankruptcy).

Courtney Helfrecht

Google
Would give no stars if I could. Thieves. I was in the five for five program that they shut down long before I received all my shoes and they clearly never intended to let me know - I had to reach out and then was informed. Do not give them your money. Total frauds.

Kelly Blankenship

Google
Like other posters, I purchased their 2023 “Five for Five” promotion and was effectively scammed. Instead of receiving codes for shoes over the course of 5 years, I received one year of shoes and then nothing. I’ve had to hound them for any information and just found out they won’t be honoring the commitment or returning the money paid. I won’t be buying Nisolo in the future.

Ellen O.

Yelp
I love all of my Nisolo shoes! I have some of their boots, flats, sandals, and heels. The shoes last a long time although I do have a pair of the sandals that I eventually walked into ruins after several summers. But I love them so much I just bought another pair to replace them! Nisolo runs a great opportunity occasionally - the 5 for 5 club where you prepay for shoes and get credits over the next 5 years. Going to the showroom makes it so easy to redeem! I try on the different styles and sizes I think I might one, pick the one I want to use to redeem my code, come back in 6 months and do it all again! The people working at the showroom are always kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Kelli H.

Yelp
Unfortunately, Nisolo is not the company it used to be. It was foreclosed in early 2025 and the new company has chosen not to honor it's previous sale of the "five for five program". The new company is saying that the program had "benefits", when in reality the company had customers pay $540 to purchase deferred goods (10 pairs of shoes over the next 5 years). The new owners have determined they will not pay these debts, but are continuing to operate the Nisolo brand and tout it's "ethical practices". No business that does not render goods purchased can be described as "ethical". The company has also disabled comments and reviews across its portfolio of social media so that new customers aren't able to learn about their shady practices.

Leigh S.

Yelp
I purchased two pairs of Nisolo shoes to be shipped to my home address, and while I paid for two pairs Nisolo only sent one pair. I have reached out to customer service, over the last week, four times via email as they do not list a phone number that actually connects to Nisolo. I have yet to receive a response back from Support@Nisolo.com representative(s). Next stop, Google Reviews and then the Better Business Bureau.

Fade E.

Yelp
We were scammed by Nisolo who did not honor their commitment for the 5 for 5 deal. I would not give them any of your money at this point. If they are going bankrupt, they deserve it for the absolutely awful way they responded to consumers. Expect a class action lawsuit. IRLVentures may be part of this. Also look at Project Bound Inc.

Yolanda L.

Yelp
nisolo is still not a good company. They continue to not honor the five for five program. I have already emailed them four times since the start 2025 since they said that that's when they will restart. I got an email that said they were working on it. Now they have ignored my last three emails. What type of customer service is this? This is still a scam! We are all probably losing our money. Don't shop here! Save your money. also, multiple people seem to be receiving a foreclosure email which I did not get. I didn't even get an email to inform you that my codes were being "suspended until 2025 ". Also, how is this company in foreclosure if they're still selling on their website? Their company still seems very active on social media and their website. Also, note that they turned off their comment section in Instagram because everyone is complaining! There's a reason why they turned that off. If anyone nisolo is reading this, you should know that I am extremely disappointed by your ethics and dishonesty. I hope that you do better in the future with your future endeavors.

Nicole Z.

Yelp
This company is a scam! Please don't order from them! They offered a promotion to their most loyal customers and then cancelled the program after people had paid $500 for shoes - but too late to file a dispute with the credit card company. Avoid!

Josh W.

Yelp
Scam company stole millions from it's customers with the five for five program. I lost all my money and they just discontinued the program, filed for bankruptcy, and are not honoring their commitment while keeping the same Nisolo name and products. These people burn their customers money and have no regard for morality or ethics. They deserve to pay back the money and close for good.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
I'm just another person scammed by Nisolo's Five-for-Five program. I was supposed to get 10 pairs of shoes over 5 years. I received 3 before they paused the program. Now they will not respond to any inquires about the program. Their paused program for 2024 is now looking more and more suspicious because the amount of time we all waited for the program allowed enough time to pass to make disputing charges impossible. Do not buy from this brand and do not trust anyone who works at this company. Yes, it is still accepting sales online, but not honoring commitments.

Jessica A.

Yelp
They are a Scam. Do not shop there or buy their products. The last pair of sandals I had broke. Quality has gone down as well as the customer service.

Cameron P G.

Yelp
Nisolo used to be quality. Now it's a scam. They scammed people out of hundreds of dollars with a 5 for $500 deal that they have reneged on as a new ownership of the brand. Terrible brand stewardship. Also, the quality of their products tanked with supply chain issues. Do not waste your money on these shoes anymore.

Melissa H.

Yelp
So disappointed. After numerous emails, Nisolo finally responded regarding the five for five program: Nisolo 5 for 5 Program Notice As you may have been informed, the last year for Nisolo and similar consumer brands has been extremely difficult given major shifts in the macroeconomy and the significant reduction of capital deployment into the retail industry. Under very challenging circumstances, Nisolo leadership pursued all possible solutions to strengthen the company's financial position (including the painful delay of issuing Five for Five codes). While the business was tracking toward a full turnaround well into the spring of 2024, after that point, a number of unexpected operational and supply chain shocks occurred that weakened Nisolo's trajectory. After attempts to raise minority equity capital were unsuccessful, leadership sought to sell a majority share of the company in order to at least ensure that liabilities and commitments (including the Five for Five Program) could be upheld. However, industry wide performance of similar E-Commerce brands continued to decline through the holiday season of 2024, and Nisolo was further negatively impacted. As 2025 arrived and a majority-share acquirer willing to assume all liabilities had not yet been established, Nisolo's senior lender exercised their rights to foreclose on the company's assets, pursuant to UCC Article 9. Therefore, following nearly 8 years of successfully fulfilling Five for Five products and serving its members, the Five for Five Program has unfortunately been forced to an abrupt end. And, the former company, Nisolo LLC, is now no longer in operation. As far as what the future holds for the Nisolo brand, assets were recently sold by the senior lender to a new group of committed, values-aligned retail veterans who believe in the mission of Nisolo and will carry the brand forward. If you would like to hear updates and more regarding Nisolo from this point on, you can opt-in to further communication from the new owners of the brand using this link: https://forms.gle/VQ9C9qy4BgzttUeH9

Alfonso J.

Yelp
Nisolo are absolutely scumbags for scamming customers of their five for five program. They're having financial difficulties, probably in trouble with their creditors , need liquidity quickly , so they create a program that they know they can't honor and file bankruptcy shortly thereafter. Screwing their loyal customers in the process. The new owners wasted their money because you've purchased a tarnished brand. Class action lawsuits anyone?

Chris E.

Yelp
Like the others here, Nisolo stole my money, and somehow still operates under new ownership. The one pair of boots that I have are already coming apart at the toe. My Blundstone's get 4x the wear (because Nisolo sent me the wrong color boot) and are in excellent shape. Buy elsewhere.

Laura G.

Yelp
I'd rather go barefoot than buy a pair of shoes from this company. I, like many others, enrolled in the 5 for 5 program in April 2023. I received codes for three of the ten pairs of shoes under the program that I paid $500 for before it was stopped altogether. I only learned that Nisolo discontinued it after I inquired about an update. It's no coincidence their comments are turned off on other social media platforms.

Brian V.

Yelp
Back around 2017 I signed up for their first 5 for 5 membership. So when 2022 rolled around, and they offered the membership again, I liked their shoes enough to pay $50 per pair. In 2024 they paused the membership. The only offer they provided to make this right was for me to send them more money. 2025 is here and no indication from them about when they plan on continuing to honor their agreement. I have reached out to support multiple times now and have heard nothing. They use to be quick to respond and nice to work with. I can only assume at this point that they plan on keeping the money without providing the service, which would be theft.

A B.

Yelp
I purchased a 5 for 5 membership and paid $500 and I was now told they can no longer honor it. So, I paid $500 for TWO PAIR OF SHOES. I wasn't offered store credit or a refund. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM.

Jamie T.

Yelp
BUYER BEWARE!!! This company scammed me out of $500 and will not give me a refund nor the products I paid for. They took my money and ran.

Stacey L.

Yelp
Disappointed Five for Five Club member, received 2 pair for my $500. Nisolo isn't responding to multiple emails. No updates on site since the statement delaying the program to 2025. No communication from the company whatsoever.

Emily L.

Yelp
I am yet another customer who bought into the Five for Five Membership, yet Nisolo failed to deliver. I purchased a James Oxford in April 2018 before I was sold into the Five for Five Program. - Feb 2023: Bought into Five for Five, redeemed first code and ordered a shoe. - Aug 2023: Received email indicating my next code was ready, redeemed my second code and ordered a shoe. - Oct 2024: I email Nisolo to ask when I would receive my next code. They would have never given me an update on their business situation if I didn't ask and follow up. An individual named "Brandon" said I would receive my next code in February 2025. - Feb 2025: I emailed Nisolo for my next code. I have not received a response. I emailed a follow up, still did not receive a response. - Mar 2025: Received a generic email about the economy. My question still remains, when will I be receiving my next code? ================OCTOBER 2024=========================== "As it relates to the Five for Five Program, don't worry, members are not losing any of their outstanding codes. However, as part of our broader strategic reset, we are delaying the disbursement of new codes until 2025. At that point, you will begin to receive your outstanding codes on the original cadence every 6 months until all 10 have been shared." Why say this to people if you can't deliver? "You can use your 50% discount on as many full priced Nisolo products as you want, whenever you want. " What kind of logic is it to give you more money when you haven't delivered on your Five for Five Program? Why would a customer purchase more products from you if you made them lose trust in you? ================OCTOBER 2024=========================== Why do you have funds to spend on social media in an attempt to acquire new customers, but you don't try to be an ethical business and fulfill customer orders? ================MARCH 2025=========================== "As far as what the future holds for the Nisolo brand, assets were recently sold by the senior lender to a new group of committed, values-aligned retail veterans who believe in the mission of Nisolo and will carry the brand forward." I hope the new group running the business can carry the brand forward by being ethical - honor Five for Five customer orders. ================MARCH 2025===========================

Amy H.

Yelp
They ripped off their customers and terminated a purchase they refuse to fulfill and offered a pathetic discount code instead.

Marti P.

Yelp
They did not support their loyal customers who believed in them. Regardless of the company being sold people are still entitled to the products they bought. My order was not fulfilled and I plan on taking some sort of action to receive what I bought. It's absolutely infuriating to witness such dishonesty from a company that claims to value its customers. Their slimy tactics leave a bitter taste, especially when they ignore all attempts at communication. It feels like they're silencing voices by limiting comments on their Instagram, desperately trying to shield themselves from the justifiable criticism they so richly deserve. This isn't just bad business; it's a betrayal of trust of loyal customers. I just want the shoes I had picked out. I love them, but I can't trust that the company will do the right thing.

Ellen A.

Yelp
Purchased membership in the Five for Five program, but was not able to use all of the codes because Nisolo suspended and then terminated the program. I will never shop from this brand again.

Amanda G.

Yelp
Never ever ever buy from this company. They stole from me and my husband. Never honored our 5 for 5 agreement and we returned shoes and they stopped responding to us and never sent us a replacement pair. This is the worst and most immoral company ever. The fact they are still trying to sell shoes to people is disgusting since they won't even honor the hundreds of people they stole from by letting us pick our pairs and do the right thing. In addition the makers of the shoes have been posting they haven't gotten paid either. Not an ethical company at all.

Allison S.

Yelp
Also a 5 for 5 member victim. Purchased in October 2023 and received 2 of the 10 codes I paid for. Never received the communication that they were pausing codes for 2024, until I directly reached out. Also did not receive the communication about the program ending. They have stolen money from so many, without any intent to pay it back or make it right. Would not recommend them at all.

Hillary C.

Yelp
Another scammed 5-for-5er here. The kicker is that I had been a loyal Nisolo customer for years, spending hundreds of (if not a thousand+) dollars on their shoes because I loved the style, they were well made, and I believed in the company's purported ethics. So when the 5-for-5 came around I saw it as an opportunity to commit to a company I believed in AND treat future me to some great quality shoes. For those of you who are inclined to say that it was always too good to be true and we bought into an obvious scam: The company had run this program before and honored all its obligations to those customers, so there was no reason to believe it wouldn't be the same this time around. For me: Code 1 loaded automatically and I was able to use it without a problem. I had to ask for codes 2 & 3, but in all the previous years Nisolo's customer service had been great so I wasn't alarmed by that minor hitch. When I asked for Code 4, I got crickets. When I chased again, I got no response about my code but DID get the form email saying that the program had been discontinued. How skeezy that they never sent me the message about the program being suspended (which I only know about now after reading about everyone else's experience), and they only sent the discontinuation notice *after* I started inquiring about my codes. It's like they were hoping we'd all just...forget...and they could go on pretending they're still the "ethical" company that they claim to be. The added insult is that they continue to sell product on their website at DEEPLY discounted rates, so you know they're sitting on inventory. How about letting us use our codes THAT WE'VE ALREADY PAID FOR? It would cost them virtually nothing and at least earn back some goodwill. Their new MO is apparently to screw over their most loyal customers while luring in new fans at unsustainable prices (or, more likely, sacrificing the whole "ethically-made" aspect of their brand and continue selling inferior-quality shoes made with exploited labor at "amazing sale prices"). Nisolo has given a true MASTERCLASS in how to ruin a brand. Do not support this company.

Brenna E.

Yelp
Nisolo has changed as a company. They foreclosed last year and changed ownership. I spent $500 on their 5 for 5 membership and lost my money because I never received my remaining codes. The new company will not reimburse me and is keeping the money I spent even though I did not receive the products I was promised.

Katie F.

Yelp
this brand will take your money then refuse to deliver shoes. do not trust them or give them any of your business. There are so many wonderful and honest small businesses in Nashville, and Nisolo is not one of them. Take your business elsewhere!

Mandi L.

Yelp
I subscribed to their 5 for 5 program and spent $500. They canceled the program and won't give me my money back and their "resolution" was to offer 25% off item. Do not buy from this company, they claim to be ethical, what is the ethics is that behavior?!

Michelle C.

Yelp
I'm another 5 for 5 member that used 3 out of 10 codes before the company "canceled" the program, which effectively lost me $350 of te $500 originally paid. By far the worst retail experience I've had to date.

Tiffany G.

Yelp
Another victim of the 5for5 scam. I only got one pair of shoes out of it. Out of 10. The new CEO refuses to honor the 5for5 program or refund anybody. Instead, they're offering 25% off your purchase. Don't shop here. The quality isn't worth the price anyway. Their shoes are being sold at Marshall's now.

sara m.

Yelp
I had the same experience as the other reviewers here - Nisolo (including the new ownership as of 2025, which is at a different address) scams and lies to customers. They're trying to hide behind legal technicalities, saying that because the prior owners sold the company for parts, that customers must bear the cost. Obviously this is wildly unethical, but I'm sure at least some part of their conduct is illegal. I get that there are ways to legally screw people over through bankruptcy proceedings, but because there was zero communication and/or intentionally delayed communication with customers, not to mention *promises in writing* about the products / value that customers would get. At the very least, this qualifies as a grave consumer protections issue that requires BOTH the new owners and prior owner (who appears to be complicit, if not partially responsible) be investigated and likely prevented from conducting any consumer-facing business moving forward. I encourage any legal authorities to investigate both the former and the NEW owners (as of 2025). I don't even care if I get my money back, I just don't want anyone else to be scammed or to buy anything from individuals or entities/ventures who are OK with knowingly participating in and enabling a scam.

Megan C.

Yelp
This company scammed me by failing to honor or refund a prepaid shoe subscription. They have now doable commenting on social media.

Patrick M.

Yelp
I'm one of the suckers who got scammed by the 5 for 5 program. The lack of tranparency and common decency involving this now defunct program has been disturbing to say the least. The shoes are of decent quality, but overpriced. Go elsewhere for your ethical shoe needs. The company left "ethics" behind a long time ago.

Brit M.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place zero stars. I joined Nisolo's 5 for 5 program in December 2022, which promised 10 product codes over five years--one every six months. So far, I've received only three. Two were deposited as expected, while the third was added manually after I contacted customer service. The fourth code never appeared, and after following up, I was told I "should have" received an email (I hadn't) explaining delays due to economic hardship. Now, a full year since my last code, I just received notice that the program has been terminated due to foreclosure, and the company has been sold. Despite this, Nisolo continues selling products while failing to fulfill commitments to its most loyal customers--those of us who already paid for products we'll never receive. This is a blatant scam, and they should not be allowed to operate until they honor their obligations. Very disappointing.

Shannon O.

Yelp
In 2023, Nisolo launched a membership program called FIVEforFIVE, where customers paid $500 upfront to receive 10 codes, distributed every six months over five years. These codes were supposed to be redeemable for any item on their site at no additional cost. However, in 2024, Nisolo abruptly stopped distributing the codes, with many customers only learning about the change after reaching out to customer service to ask where their codes were. Their response? Essentially, "tough luck"--they claim distribution would resume in 2025, but instead sent an email today stating that the company is going bankrupt. To make matters worse, there are reports that Nisolo is behind on payments to its suppliers. As someone who actively supports ethical brands, this is infuriating--delaying payments to factory workers is the exact opposite of ethical business practices. This company is terrible, stole money from its customers, and deserves to be sued.

David L.

Yelp
I ordered sandals and they were not comfortable as I had hoped. I tried calling for a refund but the phone was disconnected. Three emails were sent. They asked if I wanted a refund or an exchange. When I asked for a refund that was the end of the email conversations. They offered no procedure regarding returns. I'm now stuck with $145 sandals that are not comfortable. Never again!

Kassy K.

Yelp
Nisolo has become a company that no longer cares about customer service nor honors its commitments. Don't buy shoes from here.

Barbara S.

Yelp
They haven't even reached out to their 5 for 5 members to let them know the program has ended and no, you're not getting your money back. I had to find out through Reddit. I guess they're hoping people will have forgotten they paid into this scam after they "paused" the program last year. Very disappointed in this company. Don't waste your money here.

Joy S.

Yelp
Another FiveforFive victim. Tried disputing with my credit card; due to the 2024 delay it was "too late" to get a chargeback

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
They should close their retail store and use the saved funds to honor their original customers from the 10 for $500 deal. What a dishonest, slimy company. They are unresponsive to all communication. They limited/disabled comments on their Instagram to limit bad PR and negative (but true) customer reviews. It's a shame companies like this can take consumers' hard earned money and face zero repercussions for their dishonesty.

Tim E.

Yelp
I used to love Nisolo, what they stood for, and their products. Now they are a disappointment in just about all ways. I'm one of the unlucky ones who signed up for the 5 for 5 program, which alleged to provide a code every six months for 5 years entitling me to any product, free shipping. Their product quality is going downhill and they paused the codes without telling me (they allegedly sent a communication but I didn't get it). It's been well over a year since I was able to get anything, and now their products are significantly worse. They refuse to do refunds and seemingly are discounting everything. They do not stand behind their products, their loyal customer base, and must have serious cash flow issues. What a waste of a company, ironic given their mission centering around sustainability. 0 stars if I could.

Jen B.

Yelp
I am also a very frustrated customer who purchased the 5 for 5 offering. Received two pairs of shoes before the program was ended with no warning or offer to refund. I'm one of many who are now just out several hundred dollars with no recourse. The company has turned off commenting on social media, is not responding to messages. Clearly the new owners are not interested in company loyalty or retaining customers. They are still selling shoes and could fulfill their commitments to customers, but are choosing not to.

Joyelle C.

Yelp
Furious that I paid $500 for their 5 for 5 program. I received two pairs in 2023 and then they paused in 2024 only to find they've been bought out. I requested a $400 refund and they sent me an email saying they're sorry for my experience and are offering lifetime 25% off. They owe me money or shoes and will not be purchasing from them again.

Ann N.

Yelp
Nisolo created and promoted a program to pre pay for shoes and then never fulfilled orders. Lots of people out hundreds of dollars. It was a last gasp to raise funds and extraordinarily disingenuous - a con on their most loyal, trusting customers. They quickly then filed for bankruptcy and the new owners are not making good on the program. Not a company I would ever give a dime to.

Ben D.

Yelp
This company will steal your money, and their customer service is non-existent. The shoes are nice, although they take a while to break in, but they renege on contractual promises. I am owed two pairs of shoes from a five-for-five membership I signed up for. It was designed to give five vouchers for shoes, one every six months, for an initial $500 purchase. I received three vouchers on time but then did not receive additional vouchers. I received no communication, and they have not responded to emails, Facebook messages, or the BBB. Do not, under any circumstances, purchase anything from Nisolo.

Whitney P.

Yelp
I bought into the five for five club two years ago, get 10 codes over 5 years for $50 per pair. You pay up front. I got two codes and then the company cancelled the organization and refused to refund the rest of the money. Buyer beware, they are very scammy!

Tracey C.

Yelp
Does not honor their word. Lost out on prepaid shoe subscription, hundreds of dollars.

Brianna H.

Yelp
A complete scam, do not order. I used to love their shoes but the quality has gone downhill and they are stealing from their customers.

David N.

Yelp
Quality has decreased and they are not honoring their Five for Five agreement. Don't send these people any money.
